Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

Swiss made stuff is okay, some of it, lab of endless pleasure 1&2 were very disappointing. there is no way i would ever pay for any of his stuff, not yet anyway.
As for being games, games should be entertaining but his feel like pure obstacles in the way of the hentai, and PoT felt damn near impossible on a track pad.

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

Well then... get a mouse? I didn't find it that difficult with a mouse, in fact I found it fun before I even got to the hentai, which is why I like it so much.

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

A game element that forces the user to alter their hardware in some way, especially one that forces them to spend more money than on the actual game itself (barring simple upgrades to pre-existing hardware) alienates those people and results in less paying customers. It's not a matter of "well if you can't do it, you should help yourself," it's poor design. There are tons of other examples when someone might be forced to use a trackpad - some people live in dorms and can't have their whole set-up when their roommate is around. Or should they just bring their desk up to their bed (often the only place to keep the screen hidden)?

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

Lack of a mouse is really your problem. It wouldn't be reasonable to ask all first person shooters to be equal for mouse and trackpad, hm?

We're about to have the Digital Economy Bill pass over here in the UK, an ill-thought-out bill paid for by the Music industry lobby. Anyone know what a good workaround is? I heard virtual private networks are awesome.

No, it wouldn't be reasonable.

But would it be more reasonable to ask for DIFFICULTY LEVELS perhaps? It wouldn't even be that hard, just change some timing values and make a couple switch statements. And this isn't even just for trackpad users, it's for the disabled users as well. If you're not designing your games for the deaf, blind, and mentally/physically handicapped as well as 'normal' gamers, you're losing out on twenty-five per cent of your customers.

Granted, this is an H-game, and I'm really arguing semantics at this point because it's such a niche market, but I'm right with scira in that just because s/he has a trackpad doesn't mean s/he should be denied the fun of a particular game. Saying that it's the customer's fault for having a laptop is complete bullshit, especially when all you have to do is use your brains for a paltry five seconds to come up with a solution, and spend MAYBE an hour implementing it.

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

An HOUR? Ludicrous! You're mad, Alias! MAD I SAY.

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

Hoping we don't get into an ergonomics discussion, its because I play most hentai games lying down, a benefit to a laptop. I did get a mouse to beat PoT but i think they could have added a difficulty/trackpad option like a flash game called Elona Shooter did, which just slowed everything down by like 25%.

I also hope you are not implying I am deaf/physically or mentally handicapped, because that would make me a sad panda.

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

I love how I get one negative rep and one positive rep every time I say something lately. And I'm pretty sure it's the same two people every time. Gives me a laugh.

@Dark: Lol. Thinking totally outside the box here. No really.

@Scira: Nah, but designing a game for the handicapped and designing a game for people using trackpads are sometimes very similar, and both are often overlooked by developers. Vaguely similar concepts.

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

Swiss Made games are a cut above the normal slew of hentai/porn games that get submitted to the Funny-games.biz site. Granted they might not be perfect but honestly with the mileau of crap that seems to make its way to that site is incredible, we are lucky to have someone that makes decent quality.

As to the difficulty..funny thing with Planet of Terror that when I first found it on that site it had that Play/Forward bug that worked with some hentai games. Thus enabling you to get to the meat of the game. But I honestly swear the guy uploaded a version that disabled it cuase I was not able to abuse that bug anymore.

Swiss made games usually feature a Heroine getting violated which is always a double plus for me.

/ramble ramble

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

That's a fair point Alias - it's fortunate that most of this guy's games have some kind of workaround (Sexnomicon has the gallery code, Planet of whatever has (had) rightclick->forward abuse) but yeah.

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

Curiously, the previous game with the tennis girl, now has an anime version.

i cant wait to play it xD

Re: Mission to Zebes - late April

I'm just wondering if it's gonna be game over rape or if it will be the same deal as Planet of Terror.

It does seem that this guy is improving. Maybe not a whole lot, but just slightly.
