Viper wastes no time. The second the message comes across the channel from the Zeta, the Dragon's Fang is already in full battle readiness, with weapons powered, armed, and the tactical sensors on full. Party time.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Vix had been working, through the short journey. Even as the Spear sped towards the station, the humanoid moved about the darkened interior of the craft, strapping a device here, entering a code there.

A little further out from the station than the others, the Spear stretches into existence. For a moment, the ship seems impossibly long, a one-dimensional line.. and then things collapse back into more ordinary dimensions. The ship is visible, but not to radar, infared.. only the naked eye. Slowly, it starts cruising towards the station.

Inside, Vix slips a pistol into a conveniently located thigh holster, built into the suit it wears. Not just any pistol, either.. a weapon combining ballistics, a grapple, and a suit interface, as well as some rather advanced scanning tech.

Traffic from the communications drop into the thief's ears.. and it halts. The pistol is removed, exchanged for a similar weapon, but with subtle differences. This model has been modified for zero-g, a small laser pulse weapon rather than a ballistic handgun.

The voice was matter of fact, electronically scrambled, and to the point. Broadcasted directly onto the established communication channel. After delivering the message, Vix hesitates, then withdraws a long black scabbard from a locker.

It turns from the equipment chamber, scabbard on it's back, and scoops up a slim black rod, only about 6 inches long. A few sensory functions, but mostly useful thanks to it's extending function, up to a maximum of ten feet or so.

Rather than heading back to the bridge-pod, Vix heads for the delivery system. The Spear is not designed to dock with ships, or land on a planet - instead, it uses a system similar to drop pods, small, kinetically-propelled pods, with a beacon to summon the Spear back to them. Fast-moving, and very hard to track, even harder to target.

Vix straps itself inside one, then waits. There was no point in engaging with the raiders. Not yet, anyway.

"Computer. Activate visual cloak."

. With a shimmer, the smallest signs of the Spear fade away from space. Let others fight the pirates.

The Raiders get into V position and as one swing for the Fire Bird, as they figure it to be the slowest and least armed ship. The EMP generators glow menacingly.
Suddenly a plasma ball rushes towards the pirates, but they manage to evade the slow projectile, rejoining into formation at once. Thall curses and opens the secure channel. "Use fast weapons - they're quick and small."

The Fang's reaction to that is somewhat odd...It turns directly at the carrier, and energy signatures indicate that Viper may be planning on making a blind jump, directly at the carrier. However, an unusual sensor type could also be detected, aimed at the vessel immediately in front of the Fang.

Cyrus disables the cloak and activates the six cannons on his craft. He flies straight at their formation and unleashes a storm of laser fire.

Draven wastes no time, shields already up and plasma weaponry already armed. A brief flicker of energy would be the ONLY warning the pirate ships would get before the plasma energy beams would come screaming at them at speeds unlike anything they would have ever witnessed.

In the meantime, somehow even while firing, the ship would be moving further away from the raiders, trying to get out of range of their EMP fields, seeming to be much more maneuverable that a ship of her bulky design had any right to. Draven hadn't cloaked again, which meant perhaps he couldn't cloak and fire at the same time, or that he simply didn't choose to.

The heavy cannon on the Fang suddenly powers up, as Viper dumps all of the stored energy in the drives into the capacitors for the cannon. What follows next can best be described as resembling a semi-controlled and directed core breach, aimed at the pirates' carrier.

Fortunately, Viper wasn't transmitting over the comm as his rather long, multi-lingual stream of invectives and obscenities fills the Fang's cockpit. Along with the systems damage read-outs from the engines, which really didn't seem to like that little stunt.

The Fang's attack has a rather spectacular outcome - the burst of energy breaks straight through the shields and breach the hull, leaving a smoldering hole in it's side. Unfortunately it hasn't hit something explodable though, even though the carrier loses quite a bit of it's cargo to the decompression before it's shields are coming back online - even though they are severely weakened. Viper has a different problem now, though - the Raider's formation is breaking apart to escape Cyrus' laser storm and Draven's plasma beams, even though a few of them do fall victim. A group of four focus on the largely incapacitated ship.

Meanwhile Thall has moved to aide the Fire Bird. He tries to focus his weapons on a Raider, but they move all about, making it almost impossible to hit them.

Krysta blinked into view and seeing the fight on her main monitor, threw up her shields to full power with a curse. "This is Krysta what the blazes is going on?"

The Dragon's Fang still has teeth, even if it is limited to only its landing thrusters. A full salvo of multi-targetted missiles erupt from its twin lauchers, targeting the incoming Raiders.

Viper begins trying to bypass the capacitors and link the cannon directly to his ship's power core. "Pirates. Better tell your escort to wake up." 'Come on...If I can get this to work, I might be able to really light those bastards up.'

"Space Pirates, Krysta. Switch to Directorate Channel seven. BLAZES!" One of the Raiders managed to sneak up on the Zeta and now works over it's shield with the EMP. Suddenly Thall's ship stop in mid-flight and drops a couple of meters. "Got you now!" The twin turrets focus on the small ship and unleash a storm of laser rays. The weak shields of the Raider can't handle that much punishment and the bandit explodes.

The missiles shot by Viper hit two of the fighters - the others are fried by EMP blasts. The Raiders dive through the explosions and open fire on the Viper - only to be torn apart by a storm of RFC bullets. Nadia's Black Wind dropped out of FTL and has opened fire out of it's side cannons. "Can't leave you boys alone for a MINUTE, can I?"

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

An idea begins to form in Dravens mind as he spots the weakened carrier, and it's depleting shields. Hitting the transmit button he says, "Ok folks, here's the scoop. In about sixty seconds I'm going to need a shitload of cover fire, cuz I'm about to piss off the swarm badly, IF this works."

Not waiting for a reply, he switches targets from the fighters, and directly launches a full plasma beam spread at the already hurting carrier, hoping that he can severely cripple, or even destroy it before the fighters really get pissed at him.

If it works, and the ship is destroyed or incapacitated, and the fighters pursue, Draven would run like hell, right into the weapons locks of his own allies, trying to lead the pirate fighters into their deaths.

Viper makes sure he's on the secure channel, then calls out, "Draven, I'd suggest being a little careful on your attack run. If I can bypass the capacitors, I'm going to link my ship's heavy cannon directly to my power core and take another shot."

Cyrus has begun pursuing individual fighters, trying to keep them from reforming.

"Alright Draven, give the word."

Kars blinks in attached to Krysta's ship. He watches his sensor readouts for about two seconds, breaking into a wide grin. "Pirates! I love these guys!" He rapidly punches in some controls and the front end of his ship literally blasts off the rear section, engines firing full towards the pirates.

"Thanks girl. Look after this for me. Gotta job to do!" He says meaning the rear of his ship, the part with the landing gear still connected to the Shining Star.

"Yeah I'll cover you guys" Kars says to himself in his helmet. The Hell Strafer swoops straight into the heat of the battle, zipping in precisely between the crossfire. The four heavy chainguns open up and extend out. Diving past the nearest raider formation he pivots the craft as it passes over them to unleash a hail of high velocity shells onto the formation leader from the dogfighting equivalent of point blank.

Krysta switched channels over, "Pirates huh? All i want to treat from this are a few scrapes a bruises, if anything else happens I'll be very disappointed in all of you. And don't worry Kars, my shields are nearly perfect."

She swings her ship around and pulls out a little farther from the battle to sit and watch.

Viper snorts. "Unless something goes wrong, the only thing I'll be needing is time to figure out and replace whatever fried in my engines. By the way, once this is over, I'm going to be needing some assistance. I'm limited to my landing thrusters at the moment." This is all on the secure channel.

((Sorry I missed out so much. Work is such a pain these days))

Vance, having witnessed everything while analyzing a piece of wreckage on the other side of the statio, sighs as he fires up the thrusters on his ship and begins laughing "Sorry for the delay, ladies and gents, I was busy gathering info." Vance says over the secure channel, laughing as he flies towards the battle, a smirk on his face as he fires a missile from the front of his ship at a nearby Raider fighter, tracking it and following it until collision, causing a large explosion, and taking out the fighter, before he stops and turns his vessel to the right, aligning all his port-side weapons at the enemies "Draven, I heard your plan. Just do what you gotta do, I'll handle the covering fire" he says over the comm, his smirk changing to a grin as he charges up all his weapons, his engines shut down

Sanya drifted the Nerkat a bit back, away from the battle. A time to see the finest technologies put into action. Her analytical side was enjoying this way too much. She stares in a mature and yet still childish awe.

Crap, wake up! Why was she just sitting there? Sure, it was a sight to behold, but it probably wasn't the right thing to do. It was her job now to reclaim the Dividing Line, which wasn't going to happen if these pirates win.

Her finger flicked as she deployed the missile launchers. Her eyes zig zagged back and forth, targetting as many fighters as she could. "Firing." She unleashed a full-on barrage of mini-missiles at the fighters.

Senkek's ship, which until this point had been flying towards the station like so much junk, suddenly cuts out engines and begins to coast. The reason for this is soon apparent as power is redirected into the two reinforced mining lasers which now begin to lance out and rake themselves across the flight paths of the enemy fighters. While normally used to cut into asteroids, Senkek had retooled these to have a much greater power output than is typically considered safe.
