Re: The Good Daughter (SirOni and xgkf)
Vanilla sat in her seat behind the counter in her store with her chin buried against the hard surface, bored out of her mind as she stared out of her shop window. Business had been exceptionally slow lately, and she couldn’t figure out why. There had been fewer travelers through the area recently, though, so maybe that was it...
As if on cue, her eyes and ears perked up as she saw a pair of strangers enter the frame of her shop window. One was an odd looking man who went straight for the saloon across the street, the other a short, pretty girl with white and red hair and strange-looking clothes...strange to her, at least. She also possessed a small pair of bat-like wings and a tail, making her look almost like a...
“D-Demon!” Vanilla squeaked, her mild fear of demons kicking in slightly. She immediately ducked down behind the counter to hide, pausing a moment before crawling along the floor of her shop and over to the window before peaking up though it, eyeing the demon-girl suspiciously.
“What’s wrong, Vanilla?” her staff’s disembodied voice said from behind the counter were she’d left it, a teasing tone in its voice. “See something you like out there? A new traveler for you to ‘play’ with?” it asked, chuckling lightly at its master’s familiar behavior.
“Sh-Shut up, Pervy-staff!” the catgirl whispered back, refocusing her attention on the new person outside her shop to see what she would do next. She was really pretty, though...
As the demon-girl began panning her eyes up and down the street, Vanilla would quickly duck down below the windowsill when the demon looked her way to try and stay out of sight for the time being, completely forgetting that both her ears and hat would still be fully visible though the window if the demon-girl bothered to notice. After a moment, the catgirl would peak over the windowsill again to see the stranger making her way up the street towards one of the other stores, subconsciously eyeing her up as she went.
Once she was far enough away, Vanilla would dash back behind her counter and retrieve her staff. “Come on, Parvani,” she would say before quickly making her way out of the shop and stalking after the demon-girl, trying to stay hidden behind whatever walls, barrels, or other objects that where available along the street as she did so.
