The pics thread.

Re: The pics thread.

I had been considering getting a coat of arms tattoo, on account of my family has a coat of arms, which is apparently slightly more common than I believed. But I am rather a coward when it comes to permanently marking myself in any fashion to the point where I vacillate on beards, let alone tattoos.

Re: The pics thread.

Well my first and middle name translates as peaceful bear, well one of my middle names. I have three of them, yes I know. I think it's too many myself.

Coat of arms are fairly common though wether or not it's actually yours or your family took because they lived near the family is kind of had to tell.

I don't plan on anymore myself, I guess I kind of grew out of it. Still like the ones I have though.

Re: The pics thread.

As long as ye like the ones you got. Like I said, considered getting more, but I'm not sure.

Re: The pics thread.

I'm thinking of getting another >.>;;

My mom is getting DO NOT RESUSCITATE tattooed to her chest so the paramedics will see it if she's in an accident and you know... dead.

I'm going with her, and I want another, but not sure what I could get. I'm thinking of finding an abstract design simple, but with some meaning to get on my upper arm.

Of course, this won't happen until I'm 30, so who knows. I may grow out of this urge in 7 years.

She got a deathwish or something?

Sorry, I just couldn't resist...

Re: The pics thread.

I know a few people have a fear of that, but in the majority of cases people who's heart stops for example, can be resuscitated without any major complications. So for me, gambling that in the event of pulmonary arrest, cardiacal arrest, or both, gambling that you'll be amongst the people that get brain damage seems like a rather strange idea...

Basically, if your heart stops, if they manage to restart it within 45 seconds, then you'll be fine. Anything above that and you're starting to build up a risk of braindamage. That is assuming someone hasn't done something to keep some bloodflow going to the brain. If someone does that, then you push your limits a lot farther.

EDIT: Ok, I just figured out that what I have been taught was waaaaayyyy off the real time... According to Wikipedia, the risk of braindamage starts at 4 minutes, with risk of irreversible damage at 7 minutes.

True, however as you get old the risks of becoming a Veggie increase. My mom is getting this tattoo at the age of 60. She's 30 years older than I am, and not in the greatest of health.

Re: The pics thread.

OK, I see the point, still think it's a strange gamble, as the chances of becoming a veggie after a minute or two are very, VERY, minute.(Is that how you spell it?)

It is admirable though, to choose death over vegetative state, and to be so adamant about it as to risk your life for it.

Re: The pics thread.

She know more about what can happen than I claim to. She was a paramedic for 25 years. So she KNOWS the kind of crap that can happen if a Paramedic does something wrong or even if they do everything right. The human body is CRAZY.

Re: The pics thread.

Possibly consider instead a living will? It's like a DNR but more specific, like "if I can be saved do it, If I'm a veggie shut it down." All of the certainty with none of the risks, or at least closer to that.

Re: The pics thread.

It's what my mama wants xD

She know she could do a living will, but she wants this, and who am I to argue with her xD

Re: The pics thread.

Why do you keep a retractable knife thingy(can't remember the real name) in your kitchen? And man (or maybe girl) you should tidy up in there, looks like my place when I try to make brownies.

Re: The pics thread.

Heh, on the very first picture of the finished pie I didn't realize you had already eaten some, so it just kinda looked like it was exploding with gooey awesomeness.
