So, I've mentioned our family's dog a few times, and the still on-going process of getting him comfortable about dealing with me.
To borrow a picture from Hardware:
That is our (primarily) English Shepherd, named Shadow. Fitting, somewhat, given his tendency to follow someone so close he's actually bumping into their leg.
For those unfamiliar with my previous posts about him: When we adopted him, he had been in and out of the local animal shelter numerous times, and had originally been rescued from an abusive owner. Unfortunately, we've seen signs that I bear enough of a physical resemblance to whoever that owner was to remind Shadow (our dog, not the forum member) of said owner, so it's taking time to get over that.

For those of you that don't live in northwest USA (or maybe southwest Canada?), there's a gigantic fire in central Washington state right now. Lightning struck on a mountain and ignited the whole damn thing - You can see the plume of smoke from satellite pictures. I live in Eastern washington, really close to Idaho. The smoke is super-thick here, and everything's sepiatona and smells like sawdust. You can even look at the sun without it hurting. Took a couple pictures and aurani wanted me to post them here:

Over here is perfectly fine, where the fire is there's hundreds of burned houses. Nobody injured, they got everything evacuated in time, but probably a couple thousand homeless. House count last I checked was over 850

aint smoke toxic? does the people who live in washigton have (or had its been 6 days since your post so it might not be aproblem anymore) to have some especial procedures to avoid lung or throat issues?
