Re: The Reputation Hilarity/Insanity thread New version
Oh boy, time for rep posting, about time we had that so we can point out the flaws
Plus, I like arguing this stuff. Nobody ever has reasonable, logical replies opposed to this
Negative one

Evil? Really? He was punished because he is wrong and for attempting to move forward wrong ideas.
Yes. Evil. A word I only use for those who are doing things that are purely negative, knowing that they are performing purely negative acts that only hurt.
Now it is true that Google itself isn't evil, they're just neglectful and allowing it to happen. But the act of getting someone fired over disagreeing politically is evil.
Now lets see what you said-
"Wrong ideas"
That's a big ol' Pandora's box you're opening up right there. Not only do you (Or Google for that matter) not have any authority to define what idea is wrong, this also leads down the path of suppressing thoughts. It is quite literally demanding that the ideas considered "right" go unchallenged, which means flaws in them will not be discussed, leading to an ideology that will be exploited or does not work when faced with reality.
As for deciding ideas are 'wrong', this is not only tribalistic attempting to dominate anyone not belonging to your ingroup of idealists having the 'right' ideas, but also opens the gate to having the roles reversed and having your ideas declared wrong by someone else and then suppressed. Kind of like how in the 1800s the idea that the
peasants could vote was suppressed unsuccesfully by the rich.
Perhaps instead of thinking "Thog hate idea. Thog want idea banned. Thog like big man who hurt man who say bad idea", you should consider things from a modern society standpoint where we need to voice all ideas, no matter how stupid, so that we can dissect them and figure out why they are stupid and what caused them
As for him being 'wrong', I'd say it's the opposite. He voiced a fear that he and his ideas would be suppressed by the current powers there with punishments as a result of being 'found out', and that this leads to both stress and lower productivity.
And they tracked him down to fire him, thus proving him right.
If you are still of that opinion that Google did nothing wrong, please show yourself so that I may punish you for moving forward wrong ideas (Censorship, thoughtcrime, and suppression)
