What? No. You don't have that much rep power, I'd have been back up to 31k if you did. Each green bar isn't very many rep points.

I had over 50k in rep, and neg reps give more than positive. I should know I've checked.

Yeah, but you don't give me thousands of points when I receive +reps from you. So you can't be taking thousands away. Unless how much rep is recieved is relative to age of the account?

I.E. Since my account is older it has a 'defense' stat that reduces all incoming rep modifiers.

And I'm pretty sure you're wrong, I've always been able to give more rep than I can take (unless it changed recently). It takes several -reps to get someone into the red, but only one or two for me to pull them into the green.

Can or acctually could one get kicked out from forum if you reach some digit of negative points?
If not then i dont see the problem with being neg rep. by some bored human.

Your's is older than mine, I started it on 2014 and activated it on may this year.

And no you can't get band from having neg rep, Meatbag had positive rep and was banned

And the one with the hugest neg rep isn't banned. (paydan)

No, we (the community does get input) ban people who are disruptive or just genuine assholes. Rep CAN be used as a gauge to see if said person has been pissing off enough people, but alone it won't get you banned.

One more question. I have a feeling the mods here are hesitant to put that"all people giving rep. should be visible" idea.
Was it working here in the past? I can imagine mods could have had a headache because of this or will if they make that happen.

It led to the great rep wars. An event before my time, thankfully.

I checked paydan account last week to see who has the lowest.

Now we are at the great rep depression. :p

To be fair, that was because no-one wanted to touch his rep bar for fear of, as Caulder says, 'catching the stupid'.

The bars are scaled differently as you go up, a hundred points will get you up to three or so, but then it takes more than hundred-ish for each bar up higher :/. Do recall +rep someone only once, went from one to six bars.

Hehe rep wars, still see posts about those fractious days... Would be down for that, sign everything anyway.

Meatbag was kinda fun though, if you talked to him wasn't bad lol, gave me a good anime list

True but at the same time its often entertaining to read what notes you received guys and how you respond.

Oh hey, the rep bars disappeared.. Here's my guesses, in order of least to most cynical.

1. There was a brief admin error of some sort, they'll be back in an hour or so.

2. Somethings up with the site on my end.

3. This is some sort've joke to see who'll call it out and/or possibly lose their shit over it.

4. Someone higher up finally decided that enabling rep the same way one
enables a bad drug habit wasn't the brightest thing to do, and just ended
years of accumulated controversy and future years of pissing contests and
petty arguments, by removing the rep system. ... Literally less than 24 hours in the immediate future,
a fight breaks out among the highest ranking members/owners of said site, some
backs are stabbed, some lips are sealed, someone that everyone pretended to like but secretly hated
disappears, and the rep system mysteriously returns without a word.
