The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

This time Charlie heads to a less-than-reputable tavern near the river, bedding in the backroom. As the sun rises, the town comes awake, with merchants opening their shops and workers heading to the docks and other places. There's a small forest nearby where Charlie landed, but otherwise most of the surrounding area is farmland.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Jasmine, Indigo, Where. Also how did Cindy's day in bondage go? i do hope you kept her that way and are training her. Helena said, convinced she was being ignored -.-

Flopping down and crossing her legs, Helena started to Meditate again looking for Max while she waited for an answer.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*I think she's somewhere in the smithy right now. She seems to like the heat and sound of it. Cindy has been very well behaved ever since I let her go.* Jasmine replies with a hint of mischief.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

There's more to that story. Share. Helena replies, while glad that Indigo had just find a comfy place to stay without getting into a ton of trouble.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*Oh, you know how it is, we just did normal obedience school things. Teaching her to fetch, taking her for a walk, making her beg to suck dicks... the usual. I even got her a new tail after she finished spending the afternoon being fucked silly. What have you been up to?* Jasmine says, sounding quite happy with herself.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*I'm reallllly jealous right now.* Helena sent back honestly, wanting to have been there like no one would ever really believe. O you know, looking into myself, meeting ma souls. Pondering seriously devouring an entire village in the name of science and power... Charlie flies slow. It annoys me. O! Saw a giant owl to I guess, that was cool. Helena continued conversationally. She was still annoyed she hadn't gotten to enjoy Cindy as a pet for the day.

But she was still looking for Max inside, and less Max, and more the thing that Max was now, wondering what it was made of, how she could manipulate it.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Jasmine's presence fades away as Helena starts to meditate. This time she knows better what she's looking for and soon finds the place that feels different... It had been a poor harvest, and the family was running low on food. Fortunately they had some savings, but even so, it had taken weeks of not-quite-enough food and mom and pa arguing before his father had agreed that they should buy more. Max as the oldest sibling had been sent out with full bag of silver and instructions to buy enough food to last until spring. The snow is deep to his knees and what would normally be an easy day's trip had been turned into two-day treck, and getting a loaded wagon back would likely take three days if not more. It was only the evening of the first day out, and already Max is wondering whether he'd ever feel his toes again and the numbness had begun encasing seemingly everything except his belly, which has been growling steadily for most of the day, despite his meagre rations. Max barely notices as he stops shivering. Then snow begins falling, and for a moment it seems as if Death himself had decided that he should fail, and with him likely his entire family. The campsite would have dry wood hidden to make a fire last him all night, if only he could find it. Suddenly something else seems to add to the howling of the wind, making shivers run down his spine... It was not wolves, of that he was sure, for those he had heard often enough. There was a fire in the distance, he would just have to hope it was not thieves or other scoundrels... The memory fades.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

O no you don't. Helena hissed as the memory started to fade, fighting to hold on to what she had found so she could properly fucking expect it. Trying hard to see Max for what he was now rather then just a snapshot of what was left of his memories. You elusive wriggly fuckwit! I WILL KNOW YOU! she snarled.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena sinks back into trance, and starts chasing down the trapped soul once again. More memories, fragments, really, of how he left the farm, of how he learned the sword, joined a band of adventurers, the face of a half-elf he briefly loved, the bitter taste of defeat as a werewolf got away after killing her, of long nights spent drinking away the memories... With each memory, each fragment, the soul seems to become slightly less distinct, until it feels almost like she's hunting the memory of where it used to be, rather than the thing itself. Finally exhaustion snaps her out of meditation. Strangely, she feels less hungry than before even though the soul searching has left her feeling drained, and a look at the sky tells her that it's already past midday.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena, chasing it down, found it more fleeting each time, less substance, less to handle and experiment and study and by the end of her long chase, she flopped out of her trance, exhausted and annoyed. Not entirely wasted. If I focus I can burn it faster for more energy. But it's tiring. And I couldn't figure anything else out.... Fuck. I need more. she muttered, finally rising and stretching. Hungry be damned, she needed more to work with and a few missing people wouldn't matter overly much.

She wasn't too overly fond of doing this... but o well. Progress needed to be made and she really needed to learn to give less of a fuck. Heading into the village at mid day, she started looking for a suitable meal. Preferably a man, she'd never liked men overly much anyway... Maybe an elf, see if there was a difference.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The town is full of potential picks. Mostly men, but there are also a few elves in the crowd, as well as several misshapen figures that most people seem keen to avoid.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena slides along to a male elf, looking for someone at least passably attractive, ducking out of sight just long enough to match their ears and features a little better so the rampant racism she remembered didn't get in the way, before approaching, smiling shyly. Umm... Hello. she said softly, fidgeting and blushing, all for a good show.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The elf assumes a gentlemanly smile, turning to face Helena. "Why, hello there young lady. May I be of assistance?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena seems to blush harder for a moment before 'struggling' to regain her composure and smoothing out her clothes. Well honestly. i'm new to the area sir, and well... Some might call it forward but could you show me around? she asked, extending her arm with only a slight hesitation, having baited the hook sufficiently in her mind.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Why, of course." the elf replies, gently hooking Helena's arm with her own and launching into a long, rambling lecture about the history of the town, pointing out where this or that building had been a century or more ago and how a certain brewer had completely lost his touch for cider despite his grandfather being one of the best brewers in Darkon and so on and so on and so on, clearly enjoying Helena's company less than his own voice.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena Oooh'd and Aaah'd as he spoke, smiling and nodding, nuzzling a little closer as he gave her to tour and seeming interested in her. She even laughed at his jokes. She never did that -.-; Men were dumb.

Listening to him, Helena gave his lust just a little nudge, hoping to get him to be a little more assertive so she could get him into a backalley safely or fuck, even his place before she ripped his still warm soul out of his body so she could study it, actually a little impatient to commit her daily murder.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Infuriatingly enough, the elf barely seems to notice, other than mentioning his wife more often and talking about how she's always complaining about the expense of getting proper elven wine.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Right, turning the dial to 1? No. She'd try 5. Five times the normal nudge before steering him a little towards a shadowy corner. Well, maybe you could show me this way? she asked, tilting her head and smiling, her tongue licking her lips very slightly and flashing her eyes. Next time she'd just knock him out. For good measure she gave up this charade and tried to charm him down the fucking abandoned alley.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The elf starts stuttering and misses a step before composing himself slightly. "You really do remind me of my youngest daughter and it's been a pleasure talking to you, but duty calls. Excuse me." He then all but flees from Helena.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena huffs and then just grabs the nearest human, turning the lust and charm to eleventythousand and dragging them into the fucking alley, shoving them against the wall in a shadow and kissing them, before working on the quickest fucking soul extraction she'd ever bothered with in her life.
