Isn't this a text-based game though? Would that even help. They probably meant in general, such as in the Patreon post or in the Discord channel. Currently, your Announcements are text-only, and might not communicate as well just how much new content would there be for players to return for the new updates.
You can try to compare this to another example, such as Necropanzer with his project "Domination Desire: Banished". In his Discord posts, he puts out a few screenshots (usually, of the new renders of characters in his game) in between paragraphs of information:

You could try to add some Screenshots in the future to your updates, not giving away too much of the updates itself (to let the player also experience the content for themselves), but giving at least 1-2 of the new CGs, maybe a screenshot or two of the new story content etc. It would be a better hook for players to keep coming back for the newer updates, give them something to look forwards to, and maybe even let them know of some content they might otherwise miss (since not everybody reads the entire changelogs).
For a game with 3d renders that makes more sense to do, since it's easier to create visual assets like that.
