Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion
I feel as if the stories of the heroes could impact one another, for example, Rovana freeing the anti-Strahd Werewolf guy could help the other players out along the line, but I don't think she'd work well with the escort team mission. She dislikes Strahd but survivalist instincts kicking in after the castle scenes, will also avoid him if at all possible, rather stealing Ludmilla and causing nuisances for the vampire, given an opportunity. Plus she has a full questbook already. ^^
So yeah, perhaps seperating them could work well, timezone wise Rovana ought to arrive at the Vistani camp -after- the other two got their Tarroka reading, so I don't feel like she'd interfere much if we assume they head on to Vallaki... hold on wouldn't they also stumble upon the somewhat beaten up zombies plus rock-cave in Rovana created on the way? ^^
Anyway, TLDR, I think fully seperating her from the other two, if in the same gameworld, would work best.
My new character I wrote with someone more teamy worky and stick to the normal rulez of the campaign in mind. I could see her being discovered by the three, exhausted and unconscious, perhaps even under attack, owing them a debt for saving her and paying that back at first.. and afterwards we will see where the rp takes us. I think having a third and rather tough character along would also allow you to use the normal Ravenloft encounters for the campaign, cr 3 for three lvl 3s is hard but not undoable, and we got a decent mix of abilities, Esvele and Vita both have good consistent damage whilest I intend to play Sylvia as taking the frontline and not really dying. ^^
