Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I think Sylvia might be transported directly to the heart of Barovia from the edge of her own land. Her backstory suggests she's gotten respect but also I get the feeling the other soldiers have had there way with her a bunch? Because evil mysogonist mercenary guys who treat women as breeders would probably have done that.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Fine with having her transported as best for the story. Falknovian lore says basically females struggle twice as hard to prove themselfs as good at anything other than siering children. I'd like to think of her as having actually intimidated those of equal rank to her, perhaps even her superiors with her combat endurance and rage, she could have either been taught a lesson or be a virgin, whatever works for you. When starting out she'll honestly aspire to prove her military prowess to prove herself as worthy wife for a powerful military officer, to provide many strong soldiers for the glory of Falknovia, keeping herself fit and fertile, and only worrying about being soiled by inferior(kink hint) seed. (Falkovnia is after all a mixture of Ivan the terrible meets Nazi society, with a seasoning of Vlad the impaler.) ^^ She's naturally inclined to consider it her place, because she truly believes the military propaganda, though her strength and battle prowess, compared to the average soldier(presuming lvl 1-2 fighters. ^^) has raised nagging, if suppressed doubts about this.

..edit.. also, I presume that means you're 'k with my character writeup? GLORY TO LORD DRAKOV! (Just realized how good the papers please hymn works for this, even has the falcon! ^^)

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I'm okay with a character concept that is aimed at joining Esvele and Vita and that will get along with their personalities and goals. It's unlikely that the group will be going to Falkonia - certainly not before dealing with Strahd. So what I'd ask is that Sylvia easily sees the point in not simply handing over Ireena or any other poor sod to the depredations of Strahd.

As far as your backstory goes, I think it would be appropriate for her to have been punished for her initial accidental insult by becoming that particular officer in charge's bitch for a while. Other soldiers might then have recognized her skill and the asshole officer could have gotten killed or transferred and a more competent officer put in charge who had recognized Sylvia as a good fighter. Her personal troop decided that only by beating her in a sparring practice could they earn the right to breed with her, and this allowed her to legitimately defend herself while further impressing her male colleagues.

Fast forward a little bit and she has started to earn some local renown. That's when a situation occurs meant to 'put her in her place' and she is forced to go on the run. The Mists, for their own reasons send her to Barovia to see what her rage and hurt might make her do in a new land.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

No worries, Slyvia kinda wants to let some grass grow over her kind of deserting her post. She is devoted, but not to the point of pointlessly dying.

I'm fine with the backstory. ^^

She is not overly hurt though, I'd say more twisted loyalty wise. I see her as hard to drag down.

Oh and no reason to go to Falknovia, I just liked the potential character backround I could craft out of misoginy there. Plus I wanted a more loyal soldier type to not clash with them others.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

A soldier loyal to a tyrant will clash with those fighting against one however. Just need to find a way for that loyalty to be attached to the group or the group's cause.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Double post apologies.

Diaga and Blarg, I had intended to let Esvele sort of lead the explanation to Vita that the ceremony had been completed and then one or the two of you can agree on an executive decision for what the group was going to do after this.

If you want to hash it out in the OOC a little bit that'd be fine too, but it'd be great to move the thread forward a bit.

RECAP:

The late burgomaster has been buried. Esvele is unsure if she's said enough, but the two siblings are appreciative of her efforts.

Vita tried to feed Doru some of her blood infused with her inner light, and after some wretching sounds he tried to convince her that he was better. His father has come along and swiftly provoked him into shouting like a lunatic again. This probably means that Doru is still a bit on the insane bloodlusting side.

To protect Lucian and the rest of the village, Ismark is suggesting that he stay behind and take up the duties of his father in defending the town, with the help of Lady Jasmina. He wants to entrust the care of Ireena to Esvele and Vita.

Ireena is okay with this plan, and due to her connection to Vita, is happy to stick close to her. She also has a lot of respect for Esvele now, due to her help with the burial and defense on the previous night, so she'll gladly travel with the two of you.

Morgantha the pastry seller is being spied upon by Esvele's familiar, the raven Nevermore. He has observed that she has entered a house and is the process of selling her body as well as her pastries to the occupants. It seems like she might be busy for a while yet.

Vita would know that Ratka, the young, handsome Vistani is eager to see her again at the Tser Pool encampment. There are signs on the road that will point you to that place, according to Ismark and Ireena, although Ismark is not a big fan of trusting the Vistani. There was mention of a seer among these Vistani - a woman with great magical power and the Gift for peering at a person's fortunes. She may be worthwhile to visit if you seek to find guidance for your problems.

Tyrant? The fuck are you talking about? Vlad Drakov is a just, kind ruler whos harsh punishments only serve the greater good! Now Strahd,.. Strahds clearly evil! Wheres his military honor! Undead soldiers? Thats Darkon all over again!

falkovnia.jpg

Just look at that smile!

I presume most low ranking soldiers never get to meet the nasties of the regime directly, while a lot of the common folk accept it as 'the way things are' so she never had a reason to question Drakov. She honestly believe enforcing the will of her ruler is a good thing to do, because.. he's the ruler, he has to have the best interest of his people in mind, right?

Unrelated note, its really hard to spell falkonvia right. there seem to be both spellings, and both make sense in mixing latin and and english. Falk -novia : New falk Falkon via -> Falkon road.

Aye aye Blue. Got it. Sorry about my silence. Got no real excuse for it beyond life, mood swings and stupid stuff. Post coming out soon.

EDIT: Post up. Vita would mention Morgantha but from Esvele's reaction and abrupt departure, which is very fresh, Vita is internally figuring to not attempt to meet with the Slutty Women right now.

EDIT 2: Pervy made a new barb girl character!! Pervy, what her height, sizes, and so on stuff :p?

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Pervy, I'd prefer if Sylvia were to start with one stat over 15, so I'd like you to take away 2 points from one of your abilities and put it into either Strength or Constitution.

If you put in the later, obviously you can add even more HP to your already obscene amount. ;)

Sold. -2 int, +2 cons it is.

Truth be told I already considered a tank but when I rolled those two 12's I knew what her role was gonna be. Great quality sturdy bre.. frontline fighter.

Its funny, with barbarian rage she can literally take what'd take out Vita and Esvele four times over and keep going. ^^

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Yes... mind control it is...

Uh, I mean yeah. Cool.

Also, which of those two description pics is more accurate?

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Okay, still busy today and tomorrow. Expect a post later on in the week.

I'd like to introduce Sylvia at the Tser Pool camp. If you want to do a RP intro with her we can do something over PM.

YAY barb girl coming online *nodsnods* Pervy! How big and stronk is she? Are her tits the size of boulders with muscles underneath to match? Allowing her to box with her boobs and use her nipples as spears? Wahahahahah! (Silly)

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

That level of absurdity would bother me. Not a big fan of ridiculous proportions.

That character would be unplayable due to tits outweighing her legs. *Cough*

Post is up now. Am trying to think up good farm analogies for Vita to use. But I keep coming back to these perverse thought "Be the strong bull that is always ready and willing to charge to defend his pride and herd!" Sort of thing.

I'm fine with this, perhaps the Vistani found her and make her pay her debt to those other two at Evas behest. Should I sent you an introductionary greeting or would you like to start?

She's not a weakling but actually not that strong, not extremly muscular as that doesn't fit the feminine image. That said, she's sturdy I'm thinking Diablo 3 Female Barbarian proportions and the type to begin feeling her injuries when everyone else would be about dead.

Can't be harder than thinking of piratey things to say. just look at farmers wisdoms and drop some olden sayings!
You can easily adapt/build those into your rp. Frankly, easier to rp with than 'Take what you can and give nothing back' and 'To Err is human, to Arr is pirate and 'Shiver me timbers!''

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Pervy, if you want to send me an introductory greeting, I can probably respond to it within the next 24 hours. (regarding Sylvia)

Also, I know the totem spirit thing is technically the spirit of the bear, but did you want to have a particular theme to lay over the mechanical effects? Or would you prefer her to have some sort of bear kinship?

Also, Diaga, I don't see anything perverted about that saying...

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

No need to hurry, but happy to sent you a 'this is Sylvia'

I was tempted to take the wolf, very tempted, I'd prefer wolf kinship because I think it fits better here and is kinkier.. and has interesting implications on Ravenloft territory, but I HAD to go with the tank-animal after rolling these kinda hp. ^^

Happy to style it over with you as needed.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I'm happy to go with what you want. It could be a werekin thing, where you're a child of a lycanthrope and a human, and you don't have the trait for full on lycanthropy.

Just an idea.
