Thanks for the encouragement, guys. :D

One thing I just remembered. The battle commands are pictures, not text sent from the engine. I could try to edit the pictures, but my photoshop skills are a bit lacking so it would not look so good. Maybe I'll put it to a vote or something once I have the thread up. It's pretty clear what the commands do anyway since they have icons as well. Or I could just replace it with regular battle commands.

Here's my attempt at editing the pictures. Wasn't sure what you had in mind for the font so I just picked the most anime one I could find. :p

Mayak, if you can translate what the buttons say, then I think I can make a version that's closer to the original. (or I can do it either way, as you wish)

Merrill's edit should be accurate as far as what they say. The filename for each picture corresponds to the battle command. (arts, attack, guard, item)

That does look pretty nice.

And amusingly, I know exactly which battle that is. One of the ones I'm surprised actually has a unique game over scene for, particularly as the fight is impossible to lose without specifically trying.

Exactly! It's one of my favorite scenes too. I think after my second playthrough I was just trying to get every CG so I lost every battle I could find. I fully expected it to be the random mook scene but it was totally unique. Love this game.

Exactly! It's one of my favorite scenes too. I think after my second playthrough I was just trying to get every CG so I lost every battle I could find. I fully expected it to be the random mook scene but it was totally unique. Love this game.

Yeah, he packed a lot of content into this. I have noticed several scenes while working on this in RPGMaker that I missed when I played through it. Not entirely sure what triggers some of them, will probably figure it out as I work on it though. I mean, it's switches, but not sure what sets those switches. Maybe I'll include a brief guide on how to get them all with the translation.

I'm not sure of the context, maybe I'll find out soon! But I found it more interesting that it even exists. It's an interesting little thing of your failing actually having an impact on another character.

That, and as mentioned, its a fight that is completely impossible to lose without trying. Both enemies go down in 3 hits each, they don't attack on the first turn at all, the second guy doesn't attack until turn 4, I think? And if you attack one each turn, they won't have enough to win via running down your HP, or even have enough time to strip her clothing to use sexual attacks to win that way.

authenticity is probably more important but i prefer merrill's version because buttons 1, 3 and 4 are unreadable for people who are color blind (me :p) not that i need to see the buttons at this point.

No problem, I can just attach Merrill's edit as an optional download for people who prefer it (or are color blind). I was planning on doing that anyway. Thanks for pointing this out, never would have occurred to me.

Apparently Marimo is not done updating this. If I'm reading his blog entry correctly, RPGmaker MV was updated and he re-bundled the game as a "light" version that is supposed to be better on resource usage. This by itself might not be a problem, but he also said he might add to the game if this works out.

So consider the full translation on hold, *temporarily*.

If anyone wants to get the new version and test to see if what I have breaks it or not, let me know.

Huh interesting. So basically he's trying out a "light" version with the new MV version, and if it works out, he'll add this "light" version into the normal game or?

If I am reading it right, the new game version he uploaded to DLsite is already supposed to be the lighter version due to the RPGmaker update.

And if it works out he wants to add completely new features to the game.

How far have you gotten on this version now anyway?

Hard to say in terms of total percentage. Maybe 20% ?

Got the opening, the homeroom, the outdoor plaza, the nurse's office, and the track field done. Some other events here and there, and made the item and skill translations a bit more clear. Got the rest of the system messages done as well, like the text during and after battles. Also translated the names of the events and switches, this is to save myself some time later having to sift through them to find things.

Yeah, I didn't think he would update considering he started work on a new game.

On the bright side, he might add to the game a bit. I am seeing a few incomplete events that are basically dummied out with no way to trigger them. Maybe he will finish them.

I will just have to wait and see exactly what he updates and which files change. If all that changes is the system.json and some scripts, it won't be a big deal. If he updates the maps and events, it will be more of a pain to deal with.
