I think, perhaps, the real shame is that misogynistic views of male domination as opposed to ones that show a 'building up' or 'nurturing' spirit are not so readily and strongly questioned, the latter being painfully rare in current works.
To me in this instance it seemed appropriate that some of the evil monsters you were violently fighting who see the hero as sub human, a food source and weak in a world where strength is beauty and power would behave as they did. Appropriate that they would do all but shit on the hero. Its a victory lap, Halo-tea-bagging. Violence and denigration that is too strong or out of proportion though becomes a turn off or a silly mirrored mockery of the overblown and absurd ways that some men hate or abuse women. Which in its extremes also seems to turn the dial from hot to sad.
