TP forums: Aftermath

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"...That's not good. Uh... guys?" Tsuki said, seeing the ships approach.

"Load, Energy_Cannon.exe." A large wireframe formed around her arm, as she pointed it out of the chopper. It filled in, forming a high-tech-looking weapon, with a nice large barrel that glowed red, menacingly. It looked quite cumbersome. "Pilot, could I get a better angle at these things?"

As the chopper turned just enough so that they kept largely on their course, Tsuki was able to get a shot at the darts approaching. Then, a very large beam of energy erupted forth, heading straight for the ships.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

The darts did something strange then and there. They moved away from the beam, and rocketed past the chopper, taking only mild pot shots at it with blue pulsing weapons. They then banked, and rocketed past the chopper once more back the way they had come, completely ignoring it this time around. It wasn't until the chopper got closer that they realized why.

Siphon had just exited the bunker when he heard the darts coming. Turning he began to open fire on them even as one swept a white beam out of it's bottom.
He started to move, but too late.

As Tsuki watched on, the beam swept over Siphon.... and he vanished in a flicker of the light. It wouldn't take her hacking skills to realize he hadn't been killed, but rather transported into the dart itself. Upon the completion of the sweep, the dart banked at an impossibly sharp angle up and away, higher than the chopper could go, accelerating away.

The other six however weren't done. They flew sky high, then leveled out.... only to angle downward, noses pointed at the bunker where Shrike and Burrito were, approaching at what could best be described as kamikaze speeds. It was clear, the darts intended to crash into the facility, killing any inside of it, and destroy the ship within, which it was clear now, somehow... they knew about it.

What was most disturbing was that Siphon had been whisked away so fast, the dart retreating so quickly that Tsuki would have had no chance to hit it again, nor could the chopper pilot explain why the dart suddenly vanished off all radar.

((Yes, for the moment Siphon is a P.O.W, I have something planned here. For purposes right now, I'll run the chopper pilot, and later there will be an NPC.))

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Burrito hears the whining noise of the darts and jumps down from the ship platform, running full-speed out of the bunker to see the Darts "CRAP! Shrike! Get out here! On the double!" he yells into the radio, his right eye turning red as he checks something within himself "Crap. I can't take them down. It's still recharging." he says aloud as he looks at the oncoming Darts

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Shrike didn't have a radio, but she had managed to catch most of what had happened through mentally following what what going on.

"Siphon!" she yells, both mentally and out loud, as he is rapidly taken out of her range. She feels the rest of the darts going for a suicide run for the half-melted hanger, and she panicks for a moment. She was pretty sure the building could have taken it back, but if it couldn't in it's weakened state...

She considered running, but as far as she knew this ship and Deadalus were the only two vehicles they had with space capability, and she didn't even know how to access the latter without hijacking Siphon's active control over it. Instead, she calmly leans back in the seat, placing her hands out and onto the dashboard on either side of her, closing her eyes and entering a trance. If the building did start to collapse, she'd try to shield the ship as best she could, but she was saving for the last second, to try and preserve power.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Burrito groans and leans his upper body back, his mouth opening wide as a big blue orb of energy begins to gather in his mouth, his right eye fully red and his left eye yellow with a red reticule on it. A low whining can be heard as the blue orb begins to shift color to a light green, his whole mouth engulfed in the light as a loud screech is released, a massive green beam of energy shooting out and slowly growing in width as it went further from Burrito, engulfing all but three of the suicide Darts, one of those three caught halfway in the beam, spinning out of the beam with an entire section missing in the shape of the edge of the beam. The other ships were completely vaporized in the blast, burrito himself frozen as his eyes lose all color and turn gray, his skin itself slowly losing it's color, making him appear Albino as smoke spews forth from his mouth. Burrito's arms fall limp and his upper body arches further, his feet still holding him up and balancing him as a low, continuous beep is emitted from his mouth.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

((Fucking darts...))

"Bogeys! Incoming!" Not that they needed it. Those things were damn fast, zipping over her location before she even finished speaking and onward toward both the bunker and the chopper. One of the bots grappled her from behind as she watched the ships, reminding her that she was still in the middle of a fist-fight. Scratch that, the bots were armed now. Great. Just great.

Using the one bot's own hold against it, she threw her weight back, kicking out at the gun the other one was leveling at her. Funny some of them were using shotguns and pistols, not the automatics they'd had before. As soon as her feet were planted on the ground, she grabed the bot's arm and threw it over her shoulder, sending it careening into the nearest one in front of her.

"What's that light?" She barely caught a glimpse of the capture beam eminating from the bottom of the dart. "Come on guys, talk to me." Risking another glance over, she saw the ships gearing up for their kamikaze runs.

Shit!

It came out mentally, over the radio, and spat out in a curse. Okay, forget the small fries for the time being. She was going to need to get back to the team.

Breaking off from the four bots she'd left standing, she kicked up her speed and started monkeying up and over the rubble, intent on hauling ass back to the bunker. Gunfire erupted behind her as she was literally a step ahead of the bullets they were firing. Just as she crested the hill, another shot rang out, this one either damn lucky or carefully aimed. As soon as the shot connected with her leg, it felt like fire was ripping up through her thigh. Caught completely off guard and carried on by the momentum, she rolled down the other side of the rubble and landed with a grunt.

Picking herself up, she twisted around to look at the wound, which would have damn near had taken her knee off if it had been a fraction higher. Her denim was scorched and the skin around the wound was burned, much worse than the actual shot itself.

"Phosphorus," she spat. No wonder they were using single-shot guns. They'd have melted an automatic. Gritting her teeth, she forced herself to her feet. Limping or not, she still had to try and get back to the bunker, if any of it was still standing.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

The remaining two darts didn't alter course at all, and continued to barrel towards the ground. They were ten seconds away from impact when the Chopper they had left behind entered weapons range.

Tsuki might have chuckled if it weren't for witnessing Siphon's capture when the pilot spoke. "Fuck off you little bastards!"

He then proceeded to fire on both darts from behind with a small mounted chaingun on the Chopper, unloading on them. He shredded the first one, obliterating it, but wasn't quite as lucky with the second one. He managed to blast it's engines out, and knock it off course, but it survived the shooting. It's course now altered, the pilot of it was clearly trying to regain control to finish his mission. It never happened.

As the remaining bots began closing in on Coppers position, they suddenly snapped their heads upwards, one letting off a clear, "son of a!", before the grouping of them was squished by the dart that had just been shot down. The ensuing explosion was enough even at her distance that Copper could feel the heat off of it, and the few patches of clothing that seared off of her were further proof of the heat.

The Chopper sat down near by on the ground, landing close to the bunker. Keying his radio the pilot announced with only the faintest tremble to his voice, "we've landed safely and Tsuki is here as well. The kamikaze's have been dealt with but..."

His next words, Copper also would hear, since she was now in radio range of him as well.

"The seventh dart swung low and hit Siphon with some kind of white beam. He's.... gone. The dart took off into the upper atmosphere and vanished off my radar. I'm sorry."

The others might now begin to suspect that the kamikaze run and the bots that Copper had fought might have been a distraction for something larger yes, but now... if that were true, than the larger objective had been for them to capture or kill Siphon. Either way, the question was, if he was still alive, where had he been taken to, and how long would he be alive for?

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Tsuki was solemnly silent. She had failed to shoot down any of them, especially the one that would capture Siphon, and she was beating herself up for it. Her program faded away as she stepped off the chopper. From there, she waited. Nothing to do, but wait for orders or something.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

The chopper pilot noticed Tsuki's reaction, killed his radio and spoke softly. "Hey, you did your best there. Those damn things were more maneuverable than I expected. I have a feeling though we'll have a chance to get him back. One thing I've learned is that if your captured by an enemy in a situation like this, usually if they go to the trouble of putting something this elaborate together, they don't just kill you once they have you. No, they want information, and I doubt he's going to be so nice as to just give it to them."

After a silent moment he added, "I think he was looking for your help to repair something in that bunker there. If so, chances are it's electronic, and that's where your skills come in."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

As the chopper landed and Tsuki got off, a signal would be sent directly to her computer, holding only two words: "Burrito" and "Repair"

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Sensing the last of the ships destroyed and the building no longer under threat, Shrike calmly lifted her hands from the sides of the cockpit and began typing furiosly on the keyboard. If they had wanted Siphon dead they would have shot at him. Capturing meant that they wanted him for questioning... Or subversion. Either way, they didn't have much time.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Curling up as the heat of the explosion washed over her, Copper was thankful for two things: her leather and her fortitude. Of course, her jeans weren't as lucky and she was still limping from getting shot and the transmission over the radio didn't help her mood one bit.

Instead of heading back to the bunker, though, she instead began working her way over to the crash zone.

"You sons of bitches better hope there's nothing left of you when I get there or so help me, I am going to apply the Kyle method to get you to talk..."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Once she arrived there, she would discover a lone wraith, possibly the pilot of the downed dart still barely alive, both arms blown completely off. Ironically, despite the fact he knew he had to be dying, he had a smug grin on his face.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Snarling, she pounces on it, literally, hauling it away from the wreckage and making sure the thing was lying on its back. There was a lot of blood around, from its fresh wounds, not to mention what was left of the bots. And unlike the bots, this stuff didn't incite a gag reflex. A 'rip out its throat and bathe in its blood' reflex, yes, but not a gag reflex.

"One chance," she growled. "Where is the hybrid you just took?"

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

The wraith curled a lip back almost as a half snarl, then was silent for a moment before it finally spoke. "Since none of you will survive the night, I will tell you before I die."

He stopped for a moment, coughing up dark blackish blood, clearly running out of life. Finally he continued onward. "The hybrid will be taken before the hive commander and the queen. He will either willingly divulge the information regarding your defenses and the ship you used to attack us, or he will be... forcibly converted by the two of them. The conversion process will be rather... painful, and extremely unpleasant. As for the rest of you, the Thembrinkal will deal with the rest of you soon enough. I imagine they will have quite some... FUN with you in particular, beings your a vampire."

The way he stressed the word fun probably wouldn't sit well with her at all, leaving a chill up her spine. However, he wasn't finished.

"Know this vampire. The bots are merely to serve as distractions and to weaken your defenses for us. Once they have sufficiently, we will FEAST on your planet and it's resources, as we have on countless worlds. And there is NOTHING you can do to stop it."

With that, it began coughing up more blackish blood, death imminent.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

All the while the wraith talks about Siphon, she snarls, knowing it's definitely going to be the latter in his case.

Shrike, if that bird of yours can fly, we're going to be needing it and fast for a rescue mission.

At his last words, her eyes take on a red gleam to them and she kneels down even closer, one hand on his throat, in reality feeling for his pulse and keeping tabs on how strong it is. She leans close to the wraith's ear, her fangs giving her a slight lisp. "You know nothing of feasting."

Drawing back, she brings her own wrist up to her lips and cuts it open with her fangs, then shoving it to the wraith's lips, going so far as to hold its nose shut to get it to drink.

"You're not allowed to die on me yet, fucker," she hisses. "I've still got more questions for you."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

An almost half grin crossed his face as he replied telepathically, I'd be disappointed in you if you were done.

Shockingly, he didn't resist the forced feeding of the blood, but rather sank teeth that were sharper than they had any right to be into her "offered" wrist, either trying to drain her that way, which was likely impossible, or just trying to be a pain in the ass.

So, I'm guessing you want to know more about what, the Thembrihkal? Or perhaps you want to know where the hive is? If that's the case you won't find it here, it's in orbit.

Cackling filled her mind, the wraith apparently beginning to feel more... alive, the strength of his mental projections testament to that.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

((Aren't you supposed to drain it first? Or are you ghouling him? That would be hilarious XD))

If I can get Tsuki's help, we could probably get her ready to fly fairly quickly, though she's gonna be tits-up in a firefight, no weapons or shielding. A day at least, if we work through the night, to get her really ready. Didn't Tsuki land already?

Shrike sends back quickly, frustration evident in her mental voice. She had moved to the underneath of the ship and was hastily fitting new wiring, getting up and re-checking the schematics after every wire. She wasn't a mechanic, so the process was painfully slow, and Tobias' dead body still laying on the ground not twenty feet away was only making matters worse.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

((Ghouling him. I'm not making a wraith-vampire. Holy shit no.))

Well, give it f'ing breast implants. They've got Siphon in one of those f'ing huge ships in orbit.

She wrenches her wrist away from him, bringing it up to lick the wound most of the way closed. It does, of course, leave a few bloody streaks on her lips as she does that. Shifting around, she straddles the things legs.

"You need to stay out of my head or else I might forget to skip 'B.'" She glares down at him. If he is, in fact, still in there, it's 'b for brain.' "All right, then. Start talking about the Thrembekul." She slips one of her knives out. "And if you don't feel like answering that, you can tell me if you've got an appedix." She's already starting to pull (or cut) open the coat he's wearing.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

The mention of an appendix lets loose a massive chuckle from the wraith. "You truly know nothing about our anatomy even though you serve with a hybrid of our kind? Amusing."

There is a slight frown as he thinks for a moment before replying. "The Thembrihkal... truth be told I only know some things of them, not nearly enough to help you, not that I would. From my understanding they are part Wraith, part machine, part tentacle beast and part.... vampire. They were designed less than a month ago and given an artificial life. Neither humanoid life, nor electrical life, but rather a mix of undead and something else. The only ones who could tell you more about them would be the hive commander or the queen, they created the things."

There was another pause as he seemed to be mulling something over before he added, "it's been rumored that they are in fact capable of.... spawning more of their kind by attacking humanoid females, though I don't know for certain if that is true. I did find it rather... appaling even by our own standards."

A wicked grin crossed his face and he added, "So, I take it you want more than I can give you. Perhaps I could call the others here to 'speak' with you, or perhaps you'd like to speak to the queen herself?"

It was unclear if he could back that 'suggestion' up, but if his range was anywhere near what Siphon's was, she had to assume he could do so.
