Not really a translation request, but could anyone share or point me in the direction of resources that cover how to search/extract japanese text and create an english patcher for games? I've done a good bit of programming, but the most I've done in this area is super basic hex editing. The best I've found were some rough notepad explanations on romhacking, but I'd really like to move onto some of the non-rpg maker games when I've finished my current project.

Mhh i would request [RJ177304][東海堂] 淫魔と女ザコ (Ver.1.1)
cause i dont know if it is possible to hook the RPG Maker MV....
ITH is not able to, cause there are 3 exe files started, none responsed.
Also the RPG Maker MV is lagging or better said stuttering.
It just freezesd for some seconds on my Virtual Box (win7) setup and on my normal system (Win10) its running with like 600 fps.... unplayable
The RPG Maker MV is just bullshit so far, this goes for all the games i have tried so far...
I hope a future updated or fixes will be made, otherwise i cant play RPG Maker games anymore

I'm sure most of the geezers on this forum know of this game but didn't see it requested in this thread- The Souls of Knights, a wolf maker rpg.

It'd be a very long and hard journey, filled with lots of sticky situations and tentacle monsters but I'm sure it'd be worth it.

The Merry Xmas series are either in Chinese or Duwang-tier Japanese (that is to say, awkward Japanese with random Chinese words mixed in), depending on which version you get.

How exactly do I go about translating an rpgmaker or wolf game? Do I need RPGMaker/Wolf and do I need mods to open up the games? I'm interested in translating a couple of older games but I'm not sure how to go about it.

You can do that, certainly. Alternative methods exist as well, primarily RPGMaker Trans/Wolf Trans, which allow you to create a translation patch which contains text strings you can translate, rather than messing around inside the editor. RPGMaker Trans is also free and therefore cheaper than RPGMaker, as that's paid software. Wolf Trans is a little immature at this stage though, and development may have stalled (I really don't know)
