Ya. It's just 1 out of the entire room. So I originally just ignored if. But when it gets close, it debuffs me like shit. Also, redemption does ~150 dmg to it?? wtf (lol first time trying it on a curruption)?

BTW, since you have a +30 falcon staker (i guess you use it a lot), would you recommend changing my mithril (silver+2) rapier into a falcon staker?

I use both the falcon stake and the rapier. They're useful for different reasons. Unlike DragonPaladin and Monceber, I carry a lot of weapons with different elemental essences to cover for the different monsters I expect to encounter.

If you have a red silver2 rapier, you should keep it. Those are not easy to find. Basically the falcon stake is brilliant for hit and run melee tactics in exchange for really low physical damage compared to other weapons of its class.

The rapier is a dual-wield weapon so it deals less damage than the falcon stake just comparing the individual weapons, but the overall damage output is higher because you attack with 2 weapons. The off-hand weapon also bestows endurance when health is less than 50% which is useful for skills like angelic halo etc.

Another reason to use the rapier: maximum 4 slots compared to 3 for the falcon stake. Use your imagination on how to exploit the extra slot.

UGH... what do I need to increase this silver2 rapier's socket slots? I can't seem to get it....

If you're referring to the rapier with 3 slots (1 of which is red), the only way to expand that to 4 slots is to find a rapier with 4 red essences.

You don't create the nameless blade, you get that depending on your choice of destination. Go to the catacomb depths first and you won't get the nameless blade. If you're referring to the Burial Blade, you only get one socket for it so you'll have to decide for yourself what you want the blade to do.

If you want to kill stuff faster with the burial blade, obviously attack essences are the best choice. If you prefer elemental damage, take your pick. If you're not confident the blade can kill in one blow and would prefer the opponent not get a turn, select either stun/paralyse/confuse/sleep.

How come sometime, a rapier with 1 red, 1 empty, can get increase to 3 total with a 2 red, 1 empty?

Also, I've tried turning it into a falcon staker, and getting another falcon staker with 2 reds -> that doesn't work. Why is that?

I'd give you the link to the forge recipe page, but since you can't read Japanese it's somewhat pointless.

The explanation is quite involved, so if you haven't read Monceber's really long post on how to play this game give that a go. If you still have no clue how the slot expansion mechanic works, ask again.

I read his really long post (it's linked in the first post of this thread). It's just some of the greyish parts that I'm confused about.

Right, I've reread the wiki on this. I'm not going to explain why things work the way they do since it's long, somewhat complicated and quite unnecessary when all you need to know is what item is required to expand the rapier to 4 slots.

Without transforming the rapier to something else, you need:

1) Any of the following with 4 red essences: Longsword, rapier, shortsword, limbfire, knuckleduster, sailor suit, school swimsuit
2) A rapier with 3 red essences.

You could try transforming the rapier to a falcon stake, but you would end up increasing the number of "sealed slots" inherent in the equipment. When this happens, multiple equipment is needed to reduce the sealed slot count to zero, allowing the desired equipment to reach maximum socket status.

actually there is a chart on the wiki , for a rapier with one red and 2 white to increase the slot slots to 1 red 3 white , it requires a rapier with 3 red and one white. or it requires "any" item with four red slots

if you use google chrome it can translate the page automatically . the chart is the first tab under expanded nerinaru. basic premise is for every red slot it requires a white slot, and for every white slot it requires a red slot (+1 for the new white slot) and it must be the same item

example 2 white slot item requires a 3 red slot item .
2 red slot requires a 1 red and 2 white

a 4 red slot item is the universal upgrade which will upgrade anything (up to its maximum number of slots).

You want to expand 3 slot Rapier with Silver2 Red?
I'm not really an expert on this and finding Rapier with 4 Red slot is just too hard.

Try doing this instead:
1. Find a Night Stalker or Fox Tooth with 1 Red and 1 free slot.
2. Convert Rapier into Night Stalker or Fox Tooth with 1 Red Silver2
3. Combine both
3. Revert to original form

This is based on speculation so I can't guarantee it works.

Edit: Okay, I got Earth3 while farming weapons for gold instead of targetting Belle specifically. Good equipment to go along with it?
And I found 2R/3T Granite Blade. The red essence inside it isn't that good, though.

I convert my Revolver Cannon into Long Horn and I love it.
I mainly use it as a way to waste extra bullets I found on the floors.

It didn't work with falcon staker, but I'll give this a shot I guess. Just recently found a 3-red rapier in lvl 41. Going to take it back once I'm done (and don't die,hopefully).

BTW, with higher level dungeons, it seems that the biggest change is the level of the equipment dropped by the enemies. The number of slots don't seem to be changing too much; I just finished lvl 39 and all weapons (I found on that level) had 0 slots.

@faithedflame: Earth is not a common weakness for most enemies, notable exceptions being the black goat and the minion. It's very useful when installed in armour since you get 30% earth damage resistance and 20% lightning resistance.

@duck666: Players are more likely to get equipment with more slots on the higher levels, but it's not an absolute guarantee that at higher levels everything you see on the floor has a socket. What does matter is the type of red essences you find in the equipment since the really good essence3 stuff never drops in earlier dungeon floors.

I've picked up vanguard lancers before level 5 on a dungeon, so getting valuable equipment from quick dungeon runs is not a problem. If you want something like a clean vitality 3 armour, be prepared to go beyond level 70.

I've also found a valguard lancer at lvl 8. No sockets and was -4 (cursed).

XD I'm only level 30, but it seems that my stats aren't increasing much after Level 12; the wiki doesn't have specifics on stat progression past lvl 11. However, Roland recently got a trait called "<<brute>>" which increased her hp by 50% when "congession" is active.

If you're playing in 大魔境 (hard) difficulty mode, level determines how much HP, MP and base level of statistics you get since you restart at level 1 everytime you reach a safe zone. By the time you make it to level 15 thereabouts, most of the benefits of levelling up would have been attained so simply refer to the last table in the wiki for what characters look like at level 99 for your statistics at level 30.

If the "trait" you have is from an inscription, then you either installed it on an item or were raped with vitality at 0% in extreme mode. The one you describe corresponds with the bonus bestowed by the "Horde" monster.

Level 11 in terms of hp bank is a far cry from level 25. You get 135HP versus 170~HP. MP otoh barely changes, 25 to 28.
I would have to say most of the benefits from leveling is at Lv20 as opposed to Lv15 just because of the hp bank problem.

Also note, your stats growth is ganked in hard mode. But that doesn't make much of a difference until later levels. # of attack bonus is nerfed pretty hard though. +0.19 (+19%) versus +0.11 (+11%) to 2nd attack.

I need to clock Lv versus floor in Makai and Lv versus floor in Super Makai.

From what I remember your character level is basically Floor level / 1.5 before Lv11.
I can easily run to floor 15 while being character level 7 if I don't kill everything in between. But I will reach Lv10~11 if I do.

If you haven't finished the game and accessed the final dungeon on extreme mode yet, then the page is a waste of time.
