Mary gets out of the water as well and starts putting on her clothes. "Well, that was refreshing. Let's see what's behind the other doors, shall we?"

Shirako gives a nod as she walks out of the spring room. She goes to the other door opposite of the springs and tries to open it, hoping it won't be as difficult as the other.

This door opens easily, though the hinges still creak in protest. Behind it is a dusty, dark staircase leading down. Mary's expression is less than gracious. "Well, that certainly looks appealing. I'm glad we washed off the dried...stuff off so we could replace it with dust."

Shirako uses magic again to illuminate the staircase. "Either or. If we stay here worrying about the dirt, we will never find what we're looking for. Lets move onward. Hopefully there will be another spring down there. Or not." She moves down the stairs slowly, being careful.

Mary follows Shirako, muttering to herself. The stairs are slippery from the mold growing on them and there are no railings, but Mary doesn't even seem to notice, as she seems to focus more on the thick strands of white matter hanging from the ceiling instead. Further along, the entire ceiling is covered by the stuff and there seems to be small spiders moving along it. Suddenly something touches Shirako's leg and she manages to stop short of tripping on it. As she pulls her leg back, she notices that it's a sticky strand of the same material the roof is covered on, reaching from wall to wall. Suddenly the webbing starts to move as a huge black spider covered in white markings appears from the darkness, ready to attack.

Shirako looks to the spider. "Something doesn't seem to want us in its basement, Mary." She stays at the ready, watching closely at the spider, hoping to dodge and parry, though the stairs make it hard.

The spider shoots a web at Shirako who dodges, but Mary steps on her way before she can counter-attack, slashing at the spider.

Shirako unleashes Web on the spider. She hopes to use its own medicine to attack the spider.

As Shirako sprays a web at the spider, it mixes with the spiders own web and seems to do little to hinder it. It shoots a web again, this time at Mary whose own slash gives her barely time to dodge.

Shirako looks to Mary. She widens her eyes as she gasps, then glares back at the spider. "Take this!" She tries to shoot magic at the arachnid.

Its webshot once again sailing wide, Shirako's blast distracts it enough for Mary's blade to bite in.

Shirako looks to the spider again. "We can take down this thing, Mary!" She releases a double blast at the spider.

The spider's leg bats Shirako's hands painfully, causing both blasts to sail wide. Mary seems again more successful until legs are caught by a cunningly spun web.

Shirako yelp out as her hands are stuck hard. She squints as she kneels down in pain, tensing against the feeling before she shoots another blast at the spider.

Shirako's blast singes the spider, but it still seems to be focusing on Mary as it dodges Mary's short stab with ease, hitting her squarely on the chest with its webs.

Shirako glares at the spider, trying to charge up another double blast. "Leave her ALONE!" She releases it to try to hit the spider.

Shirako's doubleblast causes the spider to hiss and as Mary's attack falls short, it shifts its focus to Shirako, who is luckily able to dodge.

Shirako pants heavily, keeping her eyes focused on the bug. She takes another magic ball and shoots it at the spider, refusing to give up.

Shirako's blast hits the spider as Mary tears free enough to reach the spider with her sword. The spider hits Shirako with it's webs, however, partially binding her arms.

Shirako yells out as she is binded a bit. "Ghnnn!!!! No you don't!" She growls a bit, using her magic again to try to hit the spider in her state. "He is on the ropes... hhhh..... We can't give in!"
