Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

Will there be something like Aylia getting raped during battle while Bogwart is watching?

Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

You know what actually got me interested in this title?

The world design.

So many RPG maker games don't put a lot of detail into their worlds, or they don't make sense. Like, the "inn" will be a massive square empty room, the world consists of flat grasslands, and walls - both artificial and natural - are straight lines.

But from the very minute you step out of the cave in the demo for this game, the world really looks like somebody actually lived in it. There are worn spots on the ground where people and animals have made trails. There are mushrooms growing on decaying leaves in the shade. The buildings are mostly appropriately sized (not massively bigger on the inside than the outside) and look like someone might actually live in them. There are even bathrooms, for crying out loud - and not just for the purpose of porn scenes!

Speaking as a hobbyist writer, it's wonderful to play / read through a game that has had as much work put into the details as has been done here, because it really helps establish the places and people as real things, not mere excuse plots for porn.

So! I'm very much looking forward to the rest of this, YT, and I eagerly await the day when chapter one is available.

Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

Is there I list I can add my name to so I can get a PM when it is released? Saves me constantly clicking in here and checking updates in fear of missing it. :D

As much as I want to say that you should take all the time you need YT I just want to advise that sometimes you can't afford to be too picky and just need to move the project along. Not only do fans lose interest but if you keep working on a singular project too long you start suffering and can lose interest yourself as it takes more effort to keep working on it. I think the long list of abandoned projects are a testament to that. Especially when there are plenty of ungratefuls all over the place calling you out for missing release dates and such nonsense that the internet is full of.

I wish you luck and success for this year. :p

I don't understand something, but i've found this game just now (don't ask me how i managed to miss it for the whole year, while lurking on the forum almost everyday) so it's possible that it was stated before. So you've been making this game for a year now, and Chapter 1 is getting close to completion, but you plan to release all 5 chapters untill summer 2016? I'm not a game dev, so i'm probably missing something, but something just doesn't add here

I could go into a long winded explanation about how chapter 1 required all the design work, the system work, learning RPG Maker, etc., and how I will be working on the game full time in the next few months instead of a few hours a week. But, instead, I'll just say, "What does it matter?"

Who cares is my goal for completing the game is incorrect? Why does it matter if it takes until 2017 to finish instead of summer 2016? It will be free when it is completed, and therefore, you can just shelve the game and check it out a year from now. If you like it enough that you want to throw a few bucks my way, I don't run a monthly Patreon, so me taking years also has no impact on that.

Sorry if I offended you Yummy, I didn't mean it as a "Release this game faster, because i'm not paying anything, so i can demand". I just have no idea about game-making process, and everytime i asked a dev if the progress speeds up after you make the base of the game, they shoo-ed me away, so i was hoping i'd get the answer from you, since from the ETA on your patreon it seemed like my theory was true after all. I loved the prologue, and i can wait for this game untill my death. So don't mind me, and sorry again :(

My apologies if I came across as offended, I wasn't. And yes, the goal of summer 2016 is optimistic. I don't know how long it will take, but I do know it will be a helluva lot faster soon. The beginning stages take longer in general than the latter stages of development. Beyond that, this was my first major RPG Maker attempt, which meant I had to learn the program. Aylia's Story also has around 30 scripts, so I also had to learn those and figure out how to put them together.

All in all, I set my sights quite high with this game. So, the development has been agonizingly slow at times. Still, to answer your question, it will go much faster. Even if I did not have more time available when I start doing this full time, it would still be much easier to get chapters 2-5 done than 1 has been. The game will be released fully this year at some point, and the translation for Hunter's Quest will be released soon as well. It will feel good to finally release the things I've been talking about for so long.

Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

Making a game is a lot like starting a business: There's a huge amount of capital investment that needs to happen before you can have your grand opening, but once you're open, it doesn't take anywhere near as much effort to change your stock out or put on a special display.

Put simply, you only have to design the comprehensive combat system the first time. For all subsequent chapters, those scripts can be left alone, and no developer time needs to be dedicated to putting together the combat mechanics. Obviously, new foes require balancing and testing, but even that's faster with practice and an existing framework for combat.

In industry, this basically boils down to "pre-production is a bitch and always takes longer than you think." You have to write the story. You have to do concept art. You have to code the tools that your artists will use to build your game. There's a list of things to take care of half a mile long that you need to finish before you can even dream of starting work on the actual "game" itself.

And while you have to do some of it over again for expansion packs (or DLC, or chapters, or whatever you want to call it), it's nowhere near as much. Yes, you need to do some of the pre-production steps again (mostly the concept art stages and some of the writing), but the tools are already built, the mechanics are designed, and the overarching story is already in place. Plus, ideally you've gotten faster at it with practice, so the work you have to do goes more smoothly.

Anyway, this is really just a longwinded way of saying "Trust YT when he says it's easier to make followups than the initial release."

Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

Sooo remember when i said that i can wait for this game untill my death? Apparently i can't, CHAPTER 1 OR RIOT (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ But in all seriousness, while i was reading about the game again (seriously, i'm more hyped for this game than i was for Fallout 4, lol), a question came into my mind. Will the whole corruption be optionable, or will it be forced? Because as much as i adore corruption, Aylia's too cute to not make a 2nd, "pure" playthrough :D

Only download link is on the front page. The prologue is the only portion of the game release (to Patrons or public). I plan on releasing chapter 1 to both at the same time. So, no need to look for torrents, pirated versions, whatever. It will always be freely available through here or my Patreon page. I'd highly recommend getting it from one of those sources, and I can vouch for their safety in being malware free.

Again, game is free. Prologue is the current release. Download link on front page.

EDIT: I'll reply to others later this evening. The hashtags made me laugh, so I need to reply in my own way!

Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

So...I've been lurking these forums for a few months now and Akabur's games didn't motivate me to create an account, the other english based games didn't do that either...but Aylia's Story does :D

This is my first post ever, hello there guys!

What can I say? I've played the prologue and it's the best hentai game (in english or otherwise) that I have played in quiiiiite a while. There's so much I like about it, it has lots of potential too.

I read Yummy said he's making the game he always wanted to play. Well, it seems we have similar tastes because there's so much win: I like there's quite a lot to interact with in the levels. How many RPGmaker games I played that you end up ignoring 99% of the background because nothing is interactive? Here we have funny dialogue and stuff to discover.

And the arrows! No more getting lost because of a bad or confusing level design, this is really fantastic to know where to go next. I'd go as far as say the actual composition of the places and objects is really, really well done.

And the humor! You have some serious talent Yummy!

Hentai characters walk a fine line between completely sex assholes or rapist and stuff; or the other side of the spectrum, the "huurr, duurr this is my version of funny with porn" that falls flat. Nothing like that with your characters. Bogworth bought me from the tutorial onwards :)

And I'm intrigued about the story as well. Plus, the character design is fantastic, really unique. Aylia is love. Great ass and tits. The other girls are pretty hot as well ;)

I love the slow burn of corruption (it hasn't even started yet). Most guys would have spilled the beans in the prologue with a random rape or something like that.

And the game was pretty long as well. I must have spent like 4 or 5 hours exploring everything.

So yeah, sorry for the long post but I can't wait for the release of the whole game. (and chapter 1 before that :p)

Congratulations dude! Really impressive this is the work of just one man.

Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

welcome to the , where we wait, what seems like an eternity for all us damned souls.
we wait, until the one, who has promised us a way out of this place, will come back and takes us with him into the awaitng salvation.
we already saw a glimpse of what awaits us there, which makes us believe that waiting for the light to come is a worthwile action.
But we have yet to see the light at the end of the tunnel to become any bigger, altho there have been times, where the chosen one has come to us and spoken to us.
Still even he has troubles to fulfill his goal at times, which makes me believe that opening a path for so many must be a herculanean act.

Still we wait, and we will not leave until we felt the light touch our skin.

i believe in a path to the promised land, and i believe he will be the one to take us there.

Amen, my fellows brothers.

Something she likely used to beat him over the head with before throwing it into a lake.

Likely phallus shaped.

Great game, YT. The thing I like most about it is that it genuinely, laugh out loud funny. A lot of games try for humour, but you really hit the mark.

I think it's really cool that people are saying that, and we've only seen like 15 minutes of the game. Considering YT wants it to last hours, he must be going all-in with the writing.

Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

Hello everyone!

It's been awhile since I posted in here, but if you check other threads (especially Osawari Island), you'd know that I still visit ULMF daily. I just did not post here because I did not really want to bump the thread. It drifted off the front page, and given that I'm still slowly plodding along, I was fine with that.

Before I respond to comments, just a quick update. I've finished with part 1 and part 2 of chapter 1. I'm working on the 3rd and final section. There are 3 main quests with multiple stages and lots of side quests, mini events, maps to explore, battle fun to have, etc. I'd estimate 5-7 hours to finish a single run through and around 10-12 hours to find everything. This is assuming you take the time to explore and read the dialogue. If you skipped everything and just did the main quests, maybe 2-3 hours.

@DaLurker: Awesome to see you come out of the shadows! Welcome. Thank you so much for your first post, it was really humbling. And yes, it does seem like my vision of the game fits with what you like in h-games. That's awesome.

@Keep: Well, it might be purgatory, but it should not be purgatory for more than one more year. I'm very much on pace to release the entire game this year. Chapter 1 will come, and future chapters should have 1-2 months in between, none of this year and a half business. That shit is going to the rear view mirror.

@Abyss Nova: My guess is that Bogwort either gave her booze, flashed her, or both. My other guess is she beat the crap out of him afterwards :)

@Lord Arioch: Thanks! I noticed your game recently and am quite intrigued. Good luck to you. I'll be playing it for sure, and will probably pledge once I start running pledged updates of my own. Ahh, been planning that since... Jesus... I don't want to think about it.

@Thswherizat: 15 minutes! Argh! It should have taken longer than that. I figure the prologue, with all the dialogue and mini events was worthy of 45 minutes to an hour. :p

Edit: Really should change that banner...

Thanks. It is a bit of a toss up, as I'd like it to be "free" free, if you know what I mean, but I have to try and raise money to pay people. Alas, I don't think the world is ready for a h-game with art drawn by me. :)

Re: Aylia's Story - English H-Game Goodness!

Great prologue! I LOVE when the author takes his time and delivers a nice believable corruption story. I can't wait to slowly lead Aylia down a path of vice. Hehe.

Also, very good writing! It was funny but stayed on track.
I also really liked how you remade the battle system. Having Bogwort in the back, throwing little fireballs and mud at the enemies was very thematic.

Awesome job all around! I'll keep an eye out for your work.
