@dancecat: Sorry for being a shady bastard. I should have responded to you earlier. Thank you so much for the offer, but as of right now, I have two people helping me with some of my scripting woes. If they can't get it working, I'll send you over a PM. But, I really appreciate the offer to help. You guys have all been so freakin' amazing.

@Xil: Aylia's Story chapter 1 will be first. I put the translation on hold in early February to focus solely on Aylia's Story. I don't have that much spare time right now, and I really want to get this release out. I plan on finishing up Hunter's Quest once I get chapter 1 out, as kind of a short break from working on Aylia's Story. I'd say I probably have about 1-2 weeks worth of translation work to finish Hunter's Quest if I buckle down.

Anyways, thanks for the comments. Chapter 1 is still progressing, but the battle system ended up taking me way more time than I thought. I was so far off with my 98% prediction. The balancing of attack/defense values, exp growth curves, item drops, etc. really has eaten up my time the last few weeks. Someday, I will get back to writing and drawing boobies! This system stuff is for the birds ;)

Personally, I would just get some volunteers and do it in private first/exclusively. Better than giving the public a bad first impression if the battle system is really buggy. Maybe ask your patrons?

Now that some people are posting and have an eye on the thread i have a question (For yummy o for the patreons)

In the first chapter how corrupted the MC can be? i mean i normaly let her be corrupted to the max and have a lot of saves in diferent points of corruption, will she be able to be fully corrupted for chapter one or will be more gradual and have to wait till future chapters?

Good question. I aim for Aylia's corruption (if you choose to go that route) to be a gradual process. Chapter 1 will represent about 15% of the final game, meaning you will not be able to fully corrupt her until most likely Chapter 3 or 4. That does not mean she will not get herself into some, ahem, sticky situations in chapter 1 ;)

This is one of the challenges I have been working on, how to give players choice, but still maintain the corruption arc. Basically, I've come to the conclusion that the player will have choice, but those choices will still be limited by Aylia's personality. So, she won't simply be an insta-slut, even if the player wants her to be. But, she will reluctantly end up doing some things she wouldn't normally do, if you make certain choices. So, the player is kind of like the little devil on Aylia's shoulder trying to get her to do naughty things! Oh, wait, that's Bogwort :D

As for the discussion on beta, I have recruited a few testers, but bringing them up to speed takes time as well. I've ended up shelving my work on the battle system for a few days to move things along. I've made serious progress this past week, and hope to continue. I'll probably have a concrete idea Monday or Tuesday of what needs to be done--even moreso than my feeble attempt at percentages a few weeks back--yea, those were way off.

Well, technically only a single person who has agreed to help me with balancing numbers. I have yet to send them anything more than an excel spreadsheet and a brief document with my ramblings. So, "testers" was probably a bit misleading--although, I do want to accumulate a core group of testers at some point. Ultimately though, the $10+ patrons will be the main beta testers. ;)

Well, good to see everyone is having a great non-H related conversation! Sex isn't everything you know?

Ouch... I just got smacked upside my head by Bogwort for saying that... :D

Anyways, wanted to post a quick update to people following along. I made a public post on Patreon with a bit more detail, but the quick take away is that I'm aiming for May 2nd to release the public version of chapter 1. This release will add 2 multi-stage main quests, 2 multi-stage rival quests, 3-4 side quests, and loads of mini events and dialogue points. You can also expect a working battle system with 4 "H" enemies, each having their own unique attacks.

I am super excited to see what you all think of this, as I've put a shitload of work into building the game. My guess is this release should give you about 3-5 hours of gameplay, with a coupling branching quests that make replaying worthwhile. Save games won't work from the prologue, but really, with text skip, you can shoot through the prologue pretty fast. Trust me, I've done it more times than I can count ;)

Anyways, off to work some more. Lots to do!

Been awhile since I posted any updates. Thought I would update the thread for people following along. I started alpha testing the battle system about a week ago, and the initial feedback was extremely helpful. I'm working out the kinks now, as I want to get a good foundation in place as I add different skills and sex appeal style attacks to the system.

It has taken awhile because I needed to figure out how to balance enemy HP, attack stats, defense stats, experience growth curves, skill types and damage, possible states and their effects, etc. This is my first journey into designing an RPG, so this was all new to me and took me a long time to figure out. What I did not want to do was just slap the standard RPG Maker battle system in the game and call it good. I want battles to be interesting, fairly rare and meaningful, and to reduce grinding to a negligible amount. To achieve this, I had to redesign stuff from the ground up.

Anyways, alpha testing is moving forward. I hope to start beta testing the chapter at the end of the month/beginning of May. I'll then release the chapter 1 demo a week later, so I'm shooting for the early part of May. This should represent a real demo of the game and provide around 3-5 hours of gameplay, and even incorporate some replayability with branching quest lines.

Thanks for all the positive feedback along the way. Developing a game is quite an undertaking, and my discussions on these forums and a few others has really helped motivate me during the more trying parts. :)

Super glad to see people excited! I did not realize I had posted here about the May 2nd thing, I thought I had only said that on Patreon. I apologize, I ended up missing that date due to a number of reasons, but most of all, because things just take longer than I expect. One day, I'll have this game under my belt and probably have a more realistic outlook on how long things like creating/balancing a battle system will take--OR, I'll just remain the same stupidly optimistic idiot ;).

As a few people said, I'm doing away with release dates for the time being. I simply can not predict how long it will take given that I am not working on this full time. I am excited to say that I will be going part-time on May 10th, and will have Tuesdays/Thursday reserved for 5-6 hours of gamemaking (in addition to whatever time I can scrounge up in the evenings). This is my first step towards eventually trying to take this full time. I've not posted any paid updates yet, and don't plan to until chapter 2, so it will be awhile still before I can see how feasible it will be.

I wouldn't hold my breath for mid-May, as I still want to release a beta to my Patrons and let them test it for a week. Plus, as I've been inputting chapter 1 quests in, I've realized I want to add a few scenes/CGs to really flesh them out. Best I can tell you is I am really, really hoping you guys see this sometime in May. Then, hopefully, I can spend a week or two and finish the Hunter's Quest translation that has been sitting about 70% done since January.

@Sorrow4444: You'll see more h-content in the next release, I promise. I guess in that regard, you'll actually see some h-content :D. What was in the demo is more ecchi.

@thunderbass: Thank you so much! I appreciate any support people can offer. As you probably know, I only charge per release, and it won't start until the chapter 2 release. I originally figured that would be about now, but things have taken longer than I thought.

Been a week since I post, still hard at work setting everything up. It is taking a long time, but I've spent extra time designing the item structures and trying to finalize all the prologue/chapter 1 database stuff. If I can get it finalized, then save games will carry forward. It just requires more detailed planning than an outline to do that.

Yeah YT said there would be different outfits which would then have different H attacks geared toward each outfit
He did say there wouldn't be clothing destruction though, just stuff like pulling her top down for her blue dress for example (visible on Patreon if you have access). Whatever the other outfits there will be are as of yet to be seen.

Between this and Malise and the Machine, I'm constantly checking the front page to see if these threads have new posts and grabbing my phone the instant I hear the email notification, hoping it's from Patreon. I'd go into cryo stasis if I could so I could just wake up the day of releases.

Oh and YT, any idea when we can expect to see the art for the new character (I forgot her name atm), along with poll results?

@HanzoH: As PM21 stated, there will be other outfits. Outfits will come in two varieties: quest specific and general. General outfits will be like the peasant dress which Aylia can wear everywhere and in battle. Quest specific will be outfits like the tavern wench which can only be worn in certain circumstances.

Also, as PM21 stated, general outfits will have unique "weak points" that can be exploited by certain monsters. I think this will be more fun than your standard clothing destruction in that it will lend itself to significantly new battle H whenever you find a new outfit, which should keep thing fresh.

@PM21: No need to check the Patreon frequently, as I'll let you guys know when the release is really close. I'm quite tired right now, but I'll post an update on progress this weekend. As for the third rival (Lynne), she will be my first priority after I release chapter 1--unless I get burnt out before the release, in which case I might take a break and just draw her.

Anyways, time to sleep. Have some scripting stuff I want to get done tomorrow.

Okay, i have played the demo a few months back, and am very interested in it. So my question goes as follow: I have read a few posts and from what i understand, if i were to pledge 10 dollars, i would get the beta access, correct? And the said 10 dollars would NOT be paid UNTIL you make the first beta accessible? Also as a side note, since i do not know anything of patreon, do they accept pay pall?

Patreon DOES accept Paypal for payment, but Paypal DOESN'T allow financing NSFW/Porn content. So in this case, Paypal won't work.

Well, you can now use Paypal for porn (with Epoch biller) and/or Dlsite (if you know how to), so anything can happen

Paypal isnt even selectable anymore for NSFW patrons, so yeah, you cant use it on Patreon.

As YummyTiger has said, there will be announcements when it's close to a release. If you want, you can check the patreon's creation page. Even if you aren't a patreon supporter you can see when posts are made, so you'll know if anything has been told to the patreon supporters recently. (The 19th was the most recent patreon message, by the way)

And yes, sam_159, patreon will only charge your account when there is a release. Though it's going to be $10 / per chapter for this, with a payment as each chapter is released.
