"Soft is good! A good amount of soft, cute wings and a pretty face is more than enough to get me!" Jade wasn't the pickiest when it came to her sexual partners. Sure she had a few standards when it came to picking them, but she was happier being able to sleep with nearly any woman that showed some interest in her.

"Well I think you're gonna have to show me just how good you are at rubbing people at some point!" Claims like that needed to be tested first after all, and she would happily volunteer to be the one to test it. "I don't know of any blue pumpkins, but that's kind of the point of it! Don't want your safe word to be a regular word. Who knows, pumpkin might be something I say naturally, but 'Blue Pumpkins' is something you'd never hear! A bit too hard of a whipping or something goes a bit too far, then blue pumpkins is an easy indicator that things aren't the way they should be!" The piratess would explain, fine with openly talking about her sex life with the woman that she had technically just met. Plus she wanted to impart her knowledge of safe words to any that might need that lesson, not knowing a safe word could get you in a lot of trouble with the wrong lover. "Ha! Now you're thinking more like a pirate! Trickery and deception! But don't worry, Eddie will have his piece nearby. The bilge rat is too paranoid to ever trust it being too far away from him... Though he probably still hasn't actually figured out how to get in my safe, so my piece is probably safe!" A bit of encouragement would help them though, as Jade had already learned a good few ways of making Eddie talk.

"A shame, you'd be an excellent member of the crew we got around here! Ah well, honorary member it is! Remind me that I gotta properly go through the ceremonies and stuff for bringing you in!"

Zana would make short work of any pirates that were still willing to fight her, her extra arms giving her an advantage against any of them. Plus now that she was enchanted with Deva's magic, she was a force to be reckoned with. Men were tossed around like rag dolls, only enough care put in to ensure that they didn't end up with severe injuries, but a few cuts and bruises were negligible when the pirates were trying to kill her. "Puny humans! Your swords only make me angrier!" She would shout at them, more for intimidation's sake than for the actual thoughts she had on her skill. The more impressive you made yourself look, the more your opponents would be willing to surrender.

"Struck down right before grabbing the greatest treasure in all the land? Truly a terrible fate! Well if your plans are to help me make sure that doesn't happen, then you're absolutely welcome aboard! Especially if I'm gonna be the one to keep that lovely treasure for myself! After we get Eddie's map piece, we'll have one more that we'll need to track down before I can get a handle on where the treasure is. Getting the number that we've found has been a nightmare in itself!" The captain would explain, smiling at Deva as she formally introduced herself. "An absolute pleasure to meet you, I look forward to nights of revelry and wonderful adventures with you by my side!" The woman would put a hand on Deva's shoulder, looking her in the eyes and nodding to show that she meant what she said. Though she couldn't help but laugh mirthfully when Deva used her magic on Eddie, his hair growing blonde and his form looking very different from the gruff and dirty look that it had just a few moments before. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh Eddie, you've never looked so clean!" It was humorous to her, to see one of her oldest enemies turned into a bunny girl.

Said Bunny girl would not understand that Jade was laughing AT her, and instead just giggled happily along with her, which in turn would get the pirate woman to stop laughing and smile at the bunny girl. "Awwww... She's actually kinda cute." "Hee hee... Thank you! That's super nice! Any chance I can get these ropes off me though? Not sure how I got into these thingies really..." The rest of the crew would look on in fear as they saw what Deva could potentially do to them, none of them having any plans on rebelling when they knew that could be them. "We'll put these boys in the brig for now... The Isle is on the way to where I gotta be getting to anyway, we'll drop them off there. They ain't got a ship or a captain any more, so they'll probably just disperse and find new crews to join!" Jade would order, and Zana would begin tying their hands together so that they could be easily led to the brig. "As for Edys... I think it'll be fun to have someone on the crew like her. Will keep morale up at least! Hey Edys..." She'd step over to the bunny girl and gently scratch right behind her ears, making the woman sigh happily and look at Jade with big, trusting eyes. "You're gonna get to come with us now... But before we can get those meanie ropes off you I'm gonna need you to think hard for me. A scrap of paper that probably had a small drawing on it, do you think you know where anything like that is?" She'd ask gently, treating the new bunny girl kindly while she tried to get what she wanted. Edys' face would scrunch up in concentration as she tried to think about that question. "Uuuuuuuhhhhhh... Hmmmmmm... OH! I tihnk I know! It's right under that one weird looking wood plank! The boring piece of paper was just sitting there!" The bunny girl answered, leading to her being untied and jumping up eagerly, hugging both Deva and Jade close before sitting down, not knowing what to do for now.

"Alright... I think I oughta show you around the ship for now then. Introduce you to the crew that your friend has probably finished rescuing, and show you where things are. Both of you actually now that I think about it... Two new crew members in one day! Quite the gain! Come along pirate Deva! Your captain's gotta show you around and stuff! Unless you got something else to do?" The woman would offer, starting to make her way to the doorway to guide the two of them through the ship and to meet the crew.

Deva listened and nodded to the Lesbian pirate captain (LPC), but was also busy pondering the logistics of having four arms.

"Ceremonies humnnn?" Deva chuckled, nodding to the piratess and trying to look innocent when confronting the bunny-girl, chuckling when she was hugged up, petting the bunny.

"Show me around? Oh right, one moment. Disguise self!" She cheered, her apperance shifting, her general outline remaining the same, but hat turning piratey, wings looking like a loose cloak and her broom taking on the apperance of a sabre.

"Pirate Deva-away!" She cheered, adjusting her hat and slightly groping the newly made bunnygirl with an innocent grin. "Good girl telling the captain about the boring paper. Alright, lets get started on the tour!" She nodded, a hand innocently playing along Edys thigh.. Deva had little reservations about touching the priorly male bunnygirl, after all her magic was quite.. throughout and she doubted the pirate was of a calibre to resist it. "Guess we got some time to explore while we are sailing about, so, I'm a little out of the loop, what can you tell me about the general area we are in? I uh.. kinda teleported. Also, you don't seem to mind having angels, blue skinned first mates and people turning into bunnygirls.." Deva mused. Sure, she could just use her tomey to get the information, but the less she used it, the more power it could conserve, plus, Deva didn't like growing too reliant. For now it seemed as if she actually got to a vital point in the story before the cloaked ones agents, which could mean that the agent was a bit on the lazy side.. or rather confident.

Thinking about it, whilest adjusting her piratey outfit, there were a total of ten agents more powerful than Mortema, plus the cloaked one herself. She was confident on defeating someone like Mortema, even without summoning magic, if pushed to it, but it was a little concerning knowing there were a bunch of even more dangerous enemies to go with this. Plus, the margin of power from rank twelve to rank eleven and rank three to rank two or even one could be deceptively different as well. Nine unknowns total, the narcisistic angel Deva was confident in handling. But just who was the boss of this rebellion? They had to be higher up than the angel, so likely the top 5. Plus, if all had abilities like Mortema and beyond, Deva could run out of tricks before facing the cloaked one... she might even get enslaved if she tried to hold back... If only there was a way to force the rebellions hand, make them fight amongst one another. Likely, of the top ten, two, maybe three were traitors, and if Deva knew anything about warfare, then one or two more were likely neutral and the rebellion planned to isolate the rest, leaving the cloaked one with at best one reliable ally to summon. But for them to attack the cloaked one, Deva had to force her hand.. Ah.

"Say, tomey, it wouldn't be hard to send messages to -other- tomes, would it? And considering their rarity... I'm thinking of poking the hornets nest, see if I can't force the cloaked one into action early."

"Now now... The real fun comes AFTER the ceremonies and stuff... Gotta do it if the rest of the crew is gonna accept you as one of their own!" Jade would explain to Deva, having to go through the regular ceremonies and stuff before she could get any chance to sleep with the angel. Even pirates had rules, and Jade's was not to sleep with someone that was planning on joining the crew until they officially joined. "But don't worry... I've got dozens of 'ceremonies' that are way more fun than something like that!" She would promise, making sure that the angel knew she was more than ready to sleep with her after they got through the important stuff.

"Hey! There ya go! Now you look like a proper pirate and such! And we don't even have to get you a set of clothes or anything to help you properly fit in!" That meant she only had to get one outfit ready, so that the bunny girl would be able to be fit in better with the crew as well. "Plus ya still kept the soft looking and pert and just a little curvy form, so points from me!" Jade would compliment, giving Deva another look over to check out her new disguise. "Oooh, one thing, if you're gonna be a part of the crew for a while, you're gonna want the crew emblem somewhere on your outfit so we can tell. See?" She'd adjust her outfit a little so that her belt buckle could be seen, which was a skull, but with roses instead of crossbones, the same emblem that was on the ship's flag. "Get that on you somewhere and the look'll be perfect! Some of the girls got themselves tattoos of it as well... Though that's not necessary. Heh... I've seen each and every tattoo though, some of them are in some REALLY fun places." The piratess would wink, remembering some fond memories about all of her crew.

The bunny girl would mieep when groped, giggling a bit and smiling at Deva some more. "Awwww... Thanksies! Didn't want to hang on to the boring piece of paper anyway! Captain can have it if she really wants it, not sure why anyone would want it though." She'd say, gently caressing Deva's thigh in return, smiling gratefully for her new friend. "General area? Hinteria Sea. Unless you mean even more than that. I suppose you could come from somewhere completely different and such. Angel from heaven and all that stuff. Err... Well, there are 12 seas, and 5 countries. Hinteria, Terrium, Evanders, Sivern, and Avernus right now. All separated by water. Mostly peaceful, but very VERY restricting if you ain't born rich. Those that are brave enough steal a ship and head to what we just call 'The Isle'. No laws, no leaders, just a big old island full of pirates right in the middle of all the countries. Well... 'no laws' is an exaggeration. We got a sort of code of honor for whenever we're on The Isle... But the moment we're out of their waters, it's fair game. We'll fight tooth and nail if we're on the open seas, but if the Sivvies or the Hinterians get too uppity and try to invade, they'll have to answer to every single one of us!" The woman would explain, giving Deva the basic background information of what was going on. While she might not be a historian, she at least understood the world around her, she had to if she wanted to be a successful pirate. "As for the treasure, supposedly it's some sort of huge thing that Old Skullman Joe, the FIRST Pirate. found on one of his adventures. The old dog was supposedly impossible to catch or beat in a fight, so people seem to think The Treasure is why. He went through an awful lot of trouble to hide it, that's for sure. 12 map pieces all magic so that they show just random scribbles until they're put together... As for not minding bunny girls, blue people, and angels... magic does crazy things, and I've seen my fair share of weird things. An angel turning a pain in my ass into a cute bunny ain't something I feel like complaining about. As for Zana, she's just your average Sivvie... just sexier and stronger than what you'll normally find." She'd shrug, having known Zana for a long time now, and had never let the whole 'four arms and blue skin' get in the way of their friendship and their fun.

Jade would lead the way through the hallways, taking a turn and reaching a door where there was the same skull and rose logo that she had on the flag. She'd open the doors, revealing a rather lavish chamber, a huge bed with fluffy blankets and comfy looking pillows. "These are my quarters... All bought off my shares of treasure. You'll get a share as well as long as you're with us, and can spend it however you wish. I decided a bit of luxury was in order." She would explain, chuckling a bit as she looked around the room, eyes falling on a metal safe that had a bunch of scorch marks and scratches on the side. "Heh... poor boys didn't figure out the safe. A shame, as all it needs is a feminine touch." She'd reach underneath the safe, clicking a switch that would open a small compartment in the safe. There was a small button above the opening, and the compartment was the shape of an oval. "Here we go..." She'd slide two fingers into the opening, moving them around and thrusting them a little bit, while her thumb would slide against the button positioned above the opening, looking more like she was fingering her safe rather than unlocking it. "I feel bad for any lady those boys get if they really can't figure this safe out... And there we go!" Her thumb would vigorously finger that button and the safe would open, showing a larger piece of paper, which Jade would grab and carefully place inside her coat pocket.

"I believe that I could send a message to ________'s Tome without much issue. Might take me a little bit to tap into that power, as it's been quite a long time since I've last done it." The Tome answered, already focusing up the small amount of energy that it would take to send a message like that. If Deva wanted to send her message, she'd be able to after giving her book enough time on that end. With that done, Jade would lead the way, map in tow, through some more of the halls before they would run into another piratess.

The woman had red hair, a telescope strapped to her side, and a ferret with a tiny hat on its head standing on her shoulder. "Hoy there Lucy! Where's the other lass? Don't tell me ya lost her already!" Lucy would turn to them, giving Deva a polite smile before standing straighter and shaking her head in response to the question. "Nah Capn, we decided to split up to free the crew faster, then when I heard the fighting was over, I decided I'd go clean my room. Can't help but think of how much they must've ruined everything that I had carefully organized!" Jade would smile and laugh a bit,
patting the woman's shoulder a bit before turning to Deva. "This here is Lucy, best navigator you'll find when it comes to the sea... Don't ever follow her around on land though, otherwise you'll get ridiculously lost." The woman would blush a bit as the captain fully put her arm around the navigator. "And Lucy, these are our new crew members. Edys... formerly Eddie... and a very helpful little lady here that might as well be our guardian angel at this point!" Then she'd let Lucy go, who would bow to Deva before heading off.

"Bit of a neat freak that one... Try to stay out of her room as much as possible, she can get real panicky with that thing... Alright then... Anywhere specific that you want to see in particular? Oh, and we should also probably track down your friend as well so she knows that the whole fight is over. Is there any place that you think she might naturally go to? If we find her then I can just do this whole tour business real quick and move on to the more interesting things for our coming adventure..."

Re: Pages Unfold: Unidentifiable Cake (Pervy/shotgungunshot)

"Arrrr. And here I was worryin' about a drinking or pirateyness contest before I could join. Pfew. Me fighting style makes drinking .. precarious." Deva noted, ominously, raising a brow at the promise of various.. ceremonies.
"Yeah fun fact, I can use illusions strong enough to look like pretty much whatever, but the closer you are to your real form the harder it is to see through." The elf-princess she had mimicked early on had worked so well because she had had a similiar dress and hairstyle and roughly the same bodytype as Deva as well, after all.

"I think I'll put your signet in a place where I don't have to.. let everyone check to make sure, for now." Deva chuckled, simply adding it as a chest-sticker into her illusory weave.
"Also, I totally want a real one of those as souvenir." She nodded, forgetting her pirate-role when pondering these things and weaving magic.
"Papers are boring, but don't understimate what some people could do with them." She nodded at the bunny-girl, before wondering if she had offended Tomey by speaking so openly..
"Also, some of these names.. hrmn.. perhaps a coincidence." Deva tipped her chin. Three of those names had a familiar tune to her. "Oooh a pirates code. Neat. Anyway, no complaints from me, overall, once you have comitted yourself to fighting, theres no such thing as unfairness." Deva chuckled. "I remember questioning my own teacher, long ago, a kind man, quick to smile, disdain of violence, I'd have none other in those that'd teach me how to hurt and kill, but in battle, he was like a different person, fighting without shame, deceit, feints and trickery, though his explanation quite impressed me. If you have resolved to fight, he said, you have already tried solving things in nicer ways and failed, no need to keep on being nice to those that wont respond to it in kind." Deva shrugged. Against weaker opponents she'd hold back, just like she had against the earlier enemies. If she hurt someone she'd try to heal them and feel regret, sure, but she had struck Mortema with full killing intent, protected by the shadows as she had been. Not because she had wanted to kill, or even expected it, but because she couldn't risk holding back against such stakes.

"Question, how do I earn my right to 'yo-ho-ho' anyway?" She asked, showing her ability to switch from serious to playful in a moment, or perhaps a dislike of dwelling on such things, whilest digesting some information on just where she was.
"Interesting. So no one mentioned to collect all the pieces so far? Ah, right, average Sivvie, sorry, heaven can be awfully sheltering, shocker that, I know." Deva noted, not giving away she was from another world entirely to keep things.. simple enough. "So you collected 11 pieces by now and combined a bunch already? No wonder you are experienced." Deva chuckled to herself for a brief moment.
I know your secret, Skullman Joe. These map-pieces likely lead nowhere, or, if you are dramatic, which you should be! To a cave with a giant mirror in it. You were likely just the type that never gave up and rose by your own strength and luck. By scattering the pieces and telling all these pirates about them, you ensured that whoever would collect them would have to already have the determination, crew and strength to succeed you, not only that, but through their journey they'd grow strong together. That, and, if I know anything about pirates, you spent all your treasures on booze and women.. or dudes. not judging. Whats the point in gold you can't take with you, certainly not to leave it to anyone else, no, as you felt your own mortality weighting heavier you left them something better.. a legacy. Don't worry, wont ruin it by telling early,.. after all, also a small chance I'm wrong and theres like the buttplug of Poseidon or whatever giving you great powers.

Thinking when being lead into the ship, Deva peeked up at the bed. She approved of fluffy things alltogether after all. "Ooh.." Shamelessly, she tested the fluffiness of a pillow by poking it. Seemingly more impressed than if the chamber had been filled with jewelry and gold. "Ah. A request in that regard. I'll forfeit my share of riches short of basic necessities like food and drink, can't speak for my companion, but she'll propably agree. For that I claim sole right to the one I pursue and all of their posessions if they can be aquired. Theres a slim chance they hold something that's more dangerous than useful in most hands." Even Jades.

Deva raised her brows at the Captains safe. She was taking the lesbian pirating serious, and.. that was awesome for the angelblood, who, in juvenile curiosity, always had wanted that to be a thing. So she took in the.. opening process, not even for a want of being able to copy it for thievery at any point. "Eheheh. Frankly, that one was risky." Deva grinned widely. "Give it another day or two at sea and one of them would have snuck in here and tried to fuck it." The angel smirked on, though with just the feintest hints of a blush at the entire dislpay as well. She was hard to emberass, but something about the whole situation was.. interesting. Scholarly speaking of course.

"Interesting." She noted to Tomey. "Don't mind me talking to my book by the way cap'tn, is for religious reasons." People accepted a lot of nonsense with that explanation Deva had learned early on. "No hurry. Not quite certain on this either, might backfire, I guess we are not easy to pin-point as we keep switching stories, but I'd rather not run into two or three high ranking ones all being cross at me either." She mused on. "Another though I had, So, you have infinite pages, .. what happens if I were to cut one out.. I know, I know, likely not pleasant and I presume it would use up it's magic, but the concept remains, obviously. Bear with me here, what if the magic could be preserved after a certain amount of pages, what if one could, with the right amount of tools and rituals, recreate the magic including the replication? Basically like taking a branch of a tree, treating it right, a new tree grows in time." Deva mused, giving the tome a few moments to consider this before going on.

"Working theory for your origin: You as well as the cloaked ones tomes, hopefully, are both copies.. descendants of one such master-tome. I personally suspect it could be someone cut off some of the Words of Creation themselfs, because your power is closer to Truename-magic than anything else I've seen, but, normally, learning truename magic takes years for even simple feats, DECADES for the things I've seen, yet the magical properties, of reality itself struggling yet bending to the will of the mage is quite similiar.
Just a theory. If that were true, there might be a better fate for you than to be left forgotten on a shelf, you could.. return to your err.. family."
Deva said, closing her eyes for a moment, with the tome feeling a sting of pain at the remark, before Deva went, on, grinning again slightly. "Of course, to get any inclination if this is true, we'd have to find a higher up and hooh trust me I'm not good with these orderly angels. 'Don't do this Deva! Don't do that either!' 'Forbidden this unauthorized that' 'Bla disrupting bla order of the world bla greater good bla' bunch of sticks in the mud."

She shook herself out of her rant against the overly orderly angel she knew, coughing innocently at the piratess and continuing on. .. and freezing up, staring at the ferret with big eyes, sniffing for a moment, clearly distracted from her complicated theorems.. by a ferret with a hat. "It's.. it's.." Deva pointed, wagging her finger at the ferret. "It's so adorable! Lookatit! Ohmygodess!" She looked over at the captain, wringing her hands together, smiling a bright smile. "Waah? oh hello. Call me .. uuuh..." She pondered, then hesitated. "It's adorable. Fluff it. This place is not getting messed up, on my wings." Deva nodded, determinedly. "Oh right, thought of a name-disguise. Call me Aved. No ones ever gonna see through that." She nodded sagely. "It had a hat though! Does the ferret lead her around on land? Wait theres more interesting things for a coming adventure? What could be more interesting. It was a ferret.. with a hat!" Deva enthused happily, even sniffing for a moment, wiping her eyes,.. though not seeming sad by any means.

"Thi... hmn.. this is the best thing I've seen since oh.. I dunno. I almost want to say Sahia trying to use a bow. Hah. She couldn't figure it out. Threw the damn thing. Hit the target too, impressive arm-strength. Definitly didn't get that from me..." Deva mused. "Ahaha.. huuh. Know what she said afterwards? 'Sahia, did you throw the bow at the target?' 'Nope, wasn't me, but whoever it was was propably showing the bow how it's done cause it didn't know how to throw the arrows!' Haaaah.." Deva exhaled, closing her eyes and smiling, genuinly happy for the moment, as she had only seemed in the Valerie-dream before.
But what mattered was not that that moment had ended, that worst pain of loss, but.. A ferret. With a hat. On the shoulder of a talented tidy navigator, on the ship of powerful daring do lesbian pirate captain.

"Hah. Right, question, you asked a question. Where would Isa go. She's dutiful and systematic, as you saw, she freed your first mate, then your navigator, so..
Who made the hat? I mean, its clearly custom made, so is.. what was her name again I'm terrible with names, navigator lady, .. wait it was something easy.. one two three four, four letters, you can do that, Luna Lura Lucy! Lucy it was, yes! Lucy. So! Is she a seamstress too? No.. Blue? no. Hold on, Deva, focus.
Considering we are taking time to talk and me swooning here and the given interval of time elapsed between your first mate joining us and now us meeting your navigator she should have freed one more so we need to head to priority number four which on a pirate ship, including her own view of importance in the estimate would be...

HAAAVeee you considered that it's -the ferret- thats actually your navigator, that would explain why she gets lost on land just like a talent for seafaring alone would. Perhaps the ferret is an ancient navigators seafaring spirit, reincarnated and it becomes just a normal ferret on land.. hmnn nah a bit far fetched..."
Deva pondered, then clapped her hands.
"Your crew is amazing, so where were we, I was worrying about things and.. oh yes! I need to provoke her into taking action and actively seeking out new stories, but I know too little of her personality to correctly anticipate her moves, sending a message might be more risky than beneficial. What? I should try and subtly learn more from the next one I meet? Brilliant, thanks Jade! Best to stay disguised as bystander. Need to tell crew of spell later so we can formulate plan." Deva mused, biting her thumb, seeming to swallow up some words as her lips struggled to keep up with her tongue. "Captain, please warn crew of possible encounter: Mind influencing attacker using own pleasure and lusts against. I have a countermeasure, just need a little bit of going along and acting along, yes. Basically the one I'm after has a leader, I want to learn more about the leader, acting as if defeated beneficial. Yes. Good plan. Fun for everyone too. Could demonstrate spell when initated to familiarize and start orgy. Would leave vunerable.

Wait. Does not fit."
Deva raised her head, eyes penetrating the captain with intensity, without Deva actually intending to.. the crew had gotten her fired up, it seemed. "Does not fit at all. These men were unable to defeat you alone. Captured. You said.. sleeping. Yes. Doesn't fit. Shouldn't sleep that soundly, not all. Either a traitor on board, sleep poisoning. No. AHA. You were having a.. party before you lost the ship, admit it!" Deva grinned, thinking on. "Still missing an answer what was it, can't stop thinking about cute ferrets. Also, place is kinda kinky and theres not even a real lewd dominatrix and danger about. Pfew. Wait. Ahem.
Yes. Jade was on a seperate boat. Rest of the crew trapped here. Why? Ransom. Captain worth far more. Trapped prisoners for selling off as slaves or personal.. pleasure? Possible. Icky. But not the captain? Doesn't make sense. Afraid of her. Ah. Afraid of even keeping her locked up in here."
Deva nodded, holding a monologue with herself to .. think through things. "Say, do you think if I ask her if I can pet her ferret she might take that the wrong way?" Deva mused on, apparently better able to think by splitting her thoughts up randomly a bit.

"But why not just kill you. Remaining sense of honor? Unlikely. Superstition? Likely. Could have disguised as drowned ghost to increase impact of attack. Hmnn possible other reason? Very unlikely. Not reason to ignore. No no no. Doesn't make sense. The one with the information about the map pieces was you. They weren't that afraid either, attacking with lethal intent." Deva raise a hand, rubbing her forehead. "Somethings missing. Got to think from the other end." Devas pulled out a piece of chalk, doodling on the ships-wall... if not stopped. If stopped she'd grow even more restless, pacing back and forth.. if not, she was.. just drawing doodles, and a few runes here and there. A doodle of a ship, a tiny boat with a piratess (eye sash and big bewbs on the stickmen indicated to Jade it was her.. "Think think think. Silly head, this is simple stuff. Don't ask why she was left out in a boat, ask why she'd have to be." Deva drew another ship.

"Wait, he sunk his own ship trying to get to yours?" She crossed out that ship. "NO!" Her eyes widened suddenly, as she drew squiggles of waves. "What else.. he wasn't suprised to see you wasn't shocked either. Hrmn..." Deva drew lines pointing from the crossed out ship under the wave-doodle.. if she was allowed to doodle. "How did ship crash. Why would he crash his ship, he wanted the map, sure but he didn't seem to hate you to the point of... I don't like this. When you awoke at sea, what was there, describe the area, were you alone? Were you bound only lightly..." Deva raised a finger.

"I know what I've been forgetting!" Deva grinned. "Snowcrest! Viola Snowcrest. That was the.. nono, still not focusing. For the women appreciating pirates. Missing.. yes. Even if they expected to aquire the map without you, why leave the most valuable and dangerous of the crew behind. Certainly, Zana was harder to restrain. But what if they had to leave you behind." Deva mused. "Also, if they caught you whilest sleeping, even if your crew mounted a basic defense, how could their ship simply sink and yours be mostly unharmed with their attack.. how could you catch up to this ship with just a little boat. Got to think harder. Stop. Done thinking." Deva nodded.

"Hah. Thats good." Deva smirked. "That took a lot of thinking from my part. I think I recall you couldn't believe why Edwards gang had a gold reward of 100.000 on them? Frankly, neither could I after seeing them fight, I just presumed they were generally nasty, rather than strong, or rather, you were just stronger by comparison and taunting a bit, but there is another possiblity.
Look at it from the inside out. Assume.. that the ship sunk for a reason. What could that reason possibly be?"
Deva grinned proudly, pushing her hands into her sides.
"Also, I know a magic spell to discover Isa." She winked and pushed her fingers into her ears before inhaling and then shouting loudly: "HOI! ISA! WE'RE ABOUT DONE! COME HANG OUT IF THE REST CAN FREE THEMSELFS! I WANNA DO PIRATE THINGS! HEAR ME ISA?" She shouted.

Re: Pages Unfold: Unidentifiable Cake (Pervy/shotgungunshot)

"No drinking contests for you then, which we can accomodate! We once had a gal on this crew that essentially got a new personality every time she took a sip of alcohol! She quite the pirate life after she got enough money to support herself though, I still sneak into Avernus every now and then to visit her." Jade would answer, seeming to have a few problems of her own when it came to getting off topic. "So like... does that mean that you... could make yourself look like just about anything? Perhaps like when you're in bed with a lovely pirate captain?" She would ask, before chuckling a bit and shaking her head. "Nah, if I'm gonna get myself a new lady in bed with me, I want em to look like who they are as much as possible, rather than just banging 'my ideal woman' each and every time."

"We'll get you a real emblem as soon as possible, wouldn't want to deny our newest pirate her emblem." She'd promise, before reaching out to pet Edys and assure her that she'd be getting an emblem too. "I dunno... papers just have all those big words on them and like... I just wanna do things that are fun instead of boring ol' reading..." If the Tome was offended by Deva's comments, it didn't say anything about it. "Sounds like a great teacher... I never go looking for a fight, just for adventures and ancient treasures and stuff to sell. But if someone comes after me... well... I consider the treasures THEY have to be forfeit. I wasn't really formally taught by anyone until I met Zana. She taught me all sorts of cool sword stuff and fighting techniques. Though it was kinda tough to learn at first because she kept assuming that I had four arms and had to adjust her lessons. And from there, everything else is just experience. I remember years and years ago that Eddie could actually beat me in a fair fight. And before you decide to ask... My age is a secret! Not even the crew knows exactly how old I am." She'd tell the angel, giving her a little more insight into the ways that she worked as a 'pirate'. Much less of the killing and pillaging and way more of the adventure and interesting discoveries.

"To be properly inducted into the crew... First you're gonna have to strip to your underwear in front of at least 3 crew members..." The piratess would stop for a moment as she realized how strange and kinky that would sound to someone unfamiliar with the pirate crew. "Ahem... Sorry, we don't want any shame between crew mates here. When you sign up you, you're signing up to be in close quarters to us for weeks at a time, so we want to get rid of that kind of shame as soon as possible. If it makes you more comfortable, the ones that need to see you can strip down as well, even past the underwear if you need them to. After that... we toss you into the sea for about half a minute, just to make you more familiar with the water. Finally we have you recite the crew's oath, which is just a promise to not kill in the name of the crew, and stuff like that. It's simple, and may not be the most enjoyable experience all things considered, but if you're not willing to go through that to be a pirate then you probably shouldn't be on our crew in the first place." They didn't want anyone in the crew that couldn't deal with a bit of embarrassment and cold water. Afterwards you were one of the crew and many of them would put their lives on the line for you, but you had to at least prove that you could be tough enough to handle some of the more basic discomforts that the sea could bring. "Well, if you count the piece that we just got from Eddie, then yeah I've gotten my hands on 11 pieces. One more and we'll be able to figure out exactly where The Treasure is."

The pillow that Deva poked would feel exceptionally fluffy, with some intricate designs on it that looked like they took a lot of time to make. From the looks of it, it seemed that the pillow would have likely caused quite a lot of money. Jade was a woman of comfort, rather than flashy jewelry she just wanted to have a really soft room that she could lie down in and bring her many sexual conquests to. After all, a night of lust and passion could be ruined by having to sleep on a rough and uncomfortable bed. "Geez... forfeiting your whole share? I mean, I'm not gonna say no to that offer, but are you sure that's ok with you? You can have whatever your enemy has if you want it... But I feel rather guilty taking those shares from you." While it meant more money for her and the rest of the crew, she really did want to make sure that Deva was ok with that kind of arrangement. "As for food and drink, we have more than enough of that for you. Our chef is an expert! I'm sure we can find something you'd like. Vegetarian, Vegan, Allergies? I'll let her know those things before we celebrate tonight."

"Meh, if those land lubbers tried to shag my safe they'd just end up hurting themselves. As much as this thing may look erotic, I promise you that it's entirely metal. Plus I doubt any of their cocks would be able to be this precise. A stiff one is useful, but it wouldn't be able to reach all the right crevices..." She'd state, not elaborating on whether she meant her safe or her pussy, figuring that it was much more fun to let the angel fill in the blanks on that one.

"S'long as the book ain't telling you to kill any of us or anything like that then I don't mind. You'd make great friends with Troubled Tina, she likes to talk to things too." The Captain would say otherwise not having any comment on her talking to the Tome, figuring that everyone had little odd habits and such. Whether it was religious or not, she didn't care about. "Well, once I have it ready I'll let you know and you can send that message whenever you wish. If you decide to hold off on it, I can keep myself ready to send it whenever you wish." The Tome would assure her, letting her know that there was no time limit when it came to her message to the Cloaked One. "I wish that I could be of more use in the theories of where Tomes come from. All I know is that when a page is torn from me, it ceases functioning as a part of me, and instead becomes a regular piece of paper. The most I can recall being torn away at once is 10, and those continued to function as normal paper. If there is such a way to replicate my magic, then I have yet to see it. My apologies for being unhelpful in this matter, but the details of my creation are lost to me. Though I will say that when I had stated my desire to be on a shelf, I didn't mean to be forgotten there... I suppose I'm not the best conversation, but I'd prefer to talk every once in a while." Though it would stop for a few moments as it felt Deva's pain, a familiar sting that it had felt on its own quite a few times in the past. "I thank you for concerning yourself with my fate, but in all honesty you don't need to work to learn these kinds of things for my sake. I'm happy to try and make the future safe, rather than put effort into learning my own past."

The ferret that seemed to excite Deva so much would look at her and tilt its head curiously, the pirate hat sliding down a bit and covering one of its eyes before it shook a bit and stood up straight to readjust the hat back into place. "Haha! I see you've taken quite a liking to little Oliver right there! Like I said, we got a few boys on this ship. Little guy is almost never without Lucy, but he's a kind little gentleman. If I hadn't shown up to help, I have a feeling that Oliver there would've found a way to get the key to Lucy's cell." Jade would chuckle some more, finding Deva's love of the tiny ferret to be just as adorable as the parrot itself. "Why hello there, then, Aved! Glad you've taken such a liking to my little friend here. Wish I could stay and get you two better acquainted, but after sitting in that messy cell, Oliver and I are gonna get a bath." The ferret would look at Deva some more and nod at her as Lucy walked off with him, planning on tidying everything up after such a disgusting attempt at taking over the ship. "Oliver helps Lucy stay on track while on land. Neither are great at direction, but he's just a bit better than her. And judging by your reaction, maybe we won't run into anything more interesting than Oliver." She'd chuckle as she led the way. "Does that mean I should put Lucy down as one of the three people that are gonna be at your initiation?"

The pirate captain would wait for a moment before laughing heartily at Deva's story about throwing a bow at the target rather than firing it normally like anyone else had. "Hoooh... I like you! The crew'll love stories like that, you'll fit right in. If you make us laugh then you're pretty much set." "Wait... but then who was the one that threw the bow?" Edys would ask, not having figured out the story yet, which would just earn her a few more pets from the captain as the moved forward.

"You're a clever one, Aved... Lucy did indeed make the hat for her ferret. She wanted the guy to fit in with the rest of us as best as he could. She worked for weeks and weeks to get it just right, and now she's got a few hats saved up in case Oliver ends up losing the one he has on right now." Though the captain would have a bit less to say as Deva went on her rather wild seeming tangent, eyes widening as the angel showed that her mind could work a million miles a minute. She thought of herself as a quick thinker, but this was far beyond anything that she had ever done. Not only was she thinking incredibly fast, but she was also juggling a few different topics at once. In some ways it reminded Jade of herself, whenever she wanted to quick talk her opponents, she'd sometimes just start rattling off whatever came to mind to distract and confuse them. "Geez... I hope this is a sign that your skilled tongue can be useful in loads of different situations..." The piratess would comment as Deva continued on, finding the time to flirt even through the whirlwind of words. "Heh... Definitely worth having on the crew then... Just remember that the smart choice isn't always gonna be the one I want..." There were quite a few times that she made some rather poor choices because they either had a chance for greater reward, or because that choice would just be more fun.

"Ha! Maybe the ferret really is the navigator! Never seen the two apart from each other, so for all I know Oliver is the one guiding us through the terrible seas! I'll have to keep a better eye on them to check out if that's the case! Don't let Lucy know that we think that though, she has quite a bit of pride in her skills... I just figured that the girl was BORN for the sea, and everything else just confuses her way too much. Stroke of pure luck that we found out she could navigate, by the way. Remind me that I have to tell you that story some time..." For a moment she'd look off as though she were recalling a fond memory, before refocusing on Deva and getting lost in her fast paced and complicated sentences. She could barely understand what she was talking about, something about sending messages to someone... Though Jade would bow with a smile on her face when Deva thanked her for the help. "Always happy to help a soon to be crew member..." "Nyyyaaahhh... She talks all funny and fast and I dunno what's supposed to be going on!" The bunny would comment, holding her head as she had tried too hard to keep up with the things that the angel was saying. "Awwww... Look, head back above deck and tell the blue lady with lotsa arms that I said for her to show you around instead... I get the feeling that this one talks like this quite a bit... Wouldn't want you to hurt your head too much." Which would cause Edys to bounce around some more and kiss the captain in thanks before heading back the way they came to get her tour on her own, more so that she wouldn't struggle to figure out all the complicated things that Deva was saying...

Jade would actually blush once she caught Deva's theory on why they had been sleeping so soundly when Eddie had snuck up on them and managed to take their ship. "Alright, ya got me! We were partying HARD after getting our tenth map piece, and quite a few of us hit the bottle more than we should've... Listen... everyone deserves a chance to celebrate after such a difficult journey... I guess I'll make sure that a good few of us stay sober and not party so much in the future..." She admitted, already realizing that she had made quite the grave error in allowing such a huge party to exhaust them and leave them easy targets for someone like Eddie. Then she'd close her eyes in focus, thinking on the things that Deva was saying, as they were a bit worrying. A lot of what had actually happened didn't make any sense, Eddie could've locked her up right alongside the rest of her crew. But her thinking on that matter was interrupted as Deva once again returned to the ferret. "Well, knowing Lucy. She's either gonna think you want to pet Oliver, which she'd allow, or she's gonna think that you're trying to sleep with her, which she would also allow. So either way you come out of it looking good. I say go for it!" The captain gave Deva two thumbs up, her own bit of sage advice when it came to these kinds of things.

"Okay then... I woke up with the ship sinking, bound extremely tight, sitting on the deck of Eddie's ship. However, despite my tight rope bindings, I figured the man made a grave error. By sinking his own ship, he caused some major damage to parts of the ship, which left sharp chunks of wood protruding out all over the boat. I cut my ropes on those and found one of the emergency life boats. Eddie's never been the smartest man so I figured he left it like the idiot he is... Hmmmmm..." Once again she'd close her eyes, this time crossing her arms as she began thinking about why something like this would even happen. Why had she been able to catch up to the ship in just a row boat, why hadn't she just been immediately killed, and if they weren't planning on killing her then why not keep her for the information that she could provide. She'd begin tapping her foot, thinking everything through carefully, accounting for everything that Deva was proposing. Then her eyes would suddenly open as she thought of something that might explain all of that.

"Two ideas as to why this could happen! Alright, first one is that Eddie, or more likely someone close to Eddie, had a clever little tactic to get the treasure... He knew I had nearly all the map pieces, so why not PRETEND to take my ship? Perhaps he EXPECTED me to save my crew and get everything back... So he let me catch up to the boat, and wanted me to survive the sinking ship. And then, after we captured him, knowing that we wouldn't kill him, he'd be able to essentially follow us right to the treasure without having to do any of the work... We would capture him, connect more map pieces together, and then drop him right off on the Isle where he can grab another ship and follow us, knowing our position better once he gets us... Plus, if his plan 'failed' and I sank, I'd die and still be out of his hair so he could get the map pieces himself. Either way he wins... But since you showed up, he didn't expect it and ended up becoming a little bunny girl that doesn't know his plan... That's the first idea at least." Then she looked at some of Deva's scribbles, not minding that they were there before she moved on to the other idea of why things were like this.

"OR... there was something incredibly powerful on that ship that Eddie knew he wouldn't be able to deal with. And so he took his chance to get to MY ship, trapping me on the ship with whatever was there and sinking it, hoping that sinking the ship would kill whatever was on there with me. Plus, by leaving me on the ship alive, he'd have something to distract whatever it was from going after him. It'd have to fight me before it could escape. Two birds with one stone essentially. He gets my ship and map pieces while I drown, and whatever it is that he wanted to get rid of would sink right down with me... Either makes sense for Eddie, though if you have any other ideas I'd love to hear them, because now that you point out some of this stuff, it does seem kind of suspicious that everything went down the way that it did..." Once Deva shouted, she'd hear footsteps as someone quickly rounded the corner, Isa rushing over to them, apparently having been rather close when Deva shouted for her.

"Hey! Glad to see that you guys are all ok! I freed one of the women that said she works on repairs to this ship. She said that she'd be able to handle freeing the others much better. So I assume that everything went well, otherwise I doubt I'd see you two here. Apparently we're doing pirate stuff now? Did you happen to find out anything about... errr... the special person that we're looking for?" The ice mage would ask, seeming to not even bat an eye at Deva's disguise any more as she looked over her and the pirate captain. "Pleasure to finally meet you Isa... It seems that I've gotten very lucky with the amount of lovely ladies showing up on the ship... Anyway, we were just discussing some odd things about Eddie's little attack... Care to join us?" She'd chuckle, letting Isa come over as she continued thinking everything through. "Perhaps we could interrogate some of Eddie's crew to figure things out? I figure we'd have a better chance learning from them at this point..." She offered, not entirely sure how else they could resolve the issues that Deva had pointed out.

"Yeah if you like booze don't train too deep into the drunken fist.. then again, to learn that you gotta hang with monks, story all of its own that one. Heh. As is I'm sure visiting miss early retirement." Deva chuckled.
"I could look and sound exactly like you and copy even how you act a little bit, though that one is just experience and theatrics, yes." Deva grinned, teasing the perfect woman fantasy, before she nodded, in serious agreement for a moment. "But yes, it wouldn't be real... thats what transmutation magic is for, see the bunny." Deva chuckled.

"Ah! Thats how you handled superior numbers, fighting someone with four arms, neat. I was at first trained as a healer, fighting came later because, whilest I could keep myself and folks alive, I could not also win fights if my allies were being idiots. Which.. trust me, a lot of people tend to become if they feel they can take on any challenge after you empowered them throughoutly." Deva sighed. "Ohoho, trust me, I got it worse with age. What do I look like to you, mid twenty? Angel-bloodline. Aging slow." Deva chuckled.

"Sorry, can't strip down to my underwear." Deva shook her head at the captains lewd request, then, with an innocent nod, added... "Not wearing any." She did narrow her eyes at the sea-tossing bit. "Ugh, not a fan of wet-wings and the subtle protection I cast on them for rain wont work against an ocean. You better have three times the normal towels." She nodded. Truthfully, she could fix her wings with magic, but she could also fix them with fuzzy towels.
"I can do the oath but killing is not a real problem with me, promise." She chuckled.

Deva prefered her pillows even fluffier, less expensive, but that was just her. "Jade.. I really like you. Perhaps, if this all works out, I'll tell you a little more about me, but part of my creed.. is that I do what I do, without expecting a reward. Frankly. That's the easiest bit too." Deva chuckled. She had no need for riches. Just some nice food. A comfortable place to sleep. Someone... "Vegetarian, can't endure anything suffering to feed me, though no problem with bees and cows and whatever putting in a little effort. Nothing spicy, anything sweet goes, I drink water or tea if possible, oh, or sweetened drinks if you got any." She nodded, then grinned a bit at the pirates elaborations about how to handle her.. safe.

"Tina likes to talk to things? I'd like to talk to Tina later please." Was her almost instinctive response. All the fighting against the cloaked one, sometimes one forgot, she was just here.. to help.
"Thanks Tomey." She nodded. "And sorry, but you closed that door when you looked into my past. I have a right to try and help you sort your things out if you help me with mine.. oh.. and after we found a sollution, you can always decide to stick out and converse. Conversations are fine. I like conversations. I do them a lot. Didn't mean to abandon you.. also, not planning to tear anything without a much better theory to go on. It would take an insane amount of magic power to replicate or create something like you in a bunch though, that has to have left some traces. Thoughts for later." She noted. Her own spell, Fluffy Genesis was the one thing she had comparable to such magic, and whilest her little fuzzballs were useful in their own right, they paled in comparison to the tomes. All they could do was disspel tangible forms of magic. And purr cutely.

"Did you see it adjust its hat though?" Deva enthused on about the ferret. She had waved after it enthusiastically of course. "Nah, don't note Lucy down. Note Oliver. I don't do well with Tidy types. I mean.. I bet she's nice and all but I have a sorting system thats based on how I feel at the time of day and what still fits on my table...

What, you never said all three initiators had to be female and going by your words now, I can choose whom will do it."
Deva grinned and chuckled.

"Sahia was an almost compulsive lier, just like me and my wife, no suprise really. She was.. what you would compare roughly, to our grand-daughter." Deva explained. "My wife, Aelissa, had a habit of responding to any inquiery that was the least bit worrysome to her with a very defined 'Wasn't me!'" Deva smiled. The pleasantness of her current situation helping her open up about her past a bit. It wasn't quite true of course, Sahia had been more the first natural born descendant of the angels the two godesses had created, but.. such a wonderful thing to Deva. She was proof that, the angels she had created were free willed of their own, with own mistakes and futures and hopes. She never wanted an army of obediant servants like the first generations of angels her divine magic created, but those that could tease her, critique her, admire her,.. genuinly love her. Her famliy. "Perhaps this is why I want to help other people find their treasures. I've already had mine." Deva smiled, but quickly shook her head clear again. Why was she even openly talking about such things? Valerie and then the Adrenaline rich fight against Mortema, summoning her old.. aquaintance, now this fascinating ship. Was she happy? Well that would imply she hadn't been happy lazing in the story she had been in and.. she was quite certain she had been happy with it. Or at least, content.

To her credit, Jade aptly understood Devas mind, also one who liked to talk quickly to distract enemies, though in the angels case, 'talking to' someone helped her sort out her thoughts and test them for flaws, she had already formed a rough guess, based on 'I'm here, so an agent has to be already active in this world' and 'This piratess is without doubt important, so she will be or was already targeted' and half of her talking was trying to solidify that theory. Her jumping to other, more simpler thoughts and problems allowed the more complicated ones to roll about and take proper shape in between. It was how her mind relaxed, when she couldn't be submissive to someone or eat sweets and focus on those. "Oh don't you worry about my tongue, give me some sweet candy, I'll show you what it can do." Deva winked. "Oh sorry, bunny, you may wanny not listen to me for too long when I'm doing this, might give you a headache, sorry." Deva was fond of thinking that merely letting her talk was dangerous for weak minded opponents, but she certainly hadn't intended to manipulate the cute bunnygirl in any way there, she just couldn't help thinking about things as her mind found something not making sense about the situation she was in a knot of logic she had to disentangle, like a ripe, luscious squirming tentacle and.. geesh, these pirates, something about them was inspiering, she normally would have taken a minute or two of calmth to realize something didn't make sense, and now she was thinking a few horny thoughts too? "Sorry." Deva waved. "I only talk like this when I do a thinking." She tried to clarify, sighing a bit.. she liked cute, simple minds, but .. there were serious things to focus on right now..

"Exactly." Deva nodded, giving a thumbs up and raising her voice in appreciation of the piratess, after she thought her words through. "You're really clever! I think you are right about something super dangerous being there. We propably got to head off.. if its lesbian-pirate-wraiths, or the navy, or even a kraken, we should set sail soon and avoid running into them, let me explain why.." Deva grinned to the captain.

"Hey Isa! We're gonna become pirates soon! We gotta set sail soon as well though, danger is coming! But don't forget to prepare our pirate initiation, allright? So glad about it! Come here you two!" Deva gripped Isa and the captain, pulling them close in a half hug, suddenly raising her hands and quickly channeling a spell, a sphere of silence engulfing them.

"Silent, sculpted silence spell. Tongue breaker but powerful if you do it right. We can talk, but no one can hear us, nor can we hear anyone on the outside. Great for calm naptime. Jade, I lied, I don't think we are being pursued, just making sure any potential listeners think I think otherwise. Stay close. Don't tell anyone I have this Isa. It's a little trick I like to not let people know about if I can help it. Ok. In short, this is too easy, Jade got back to her ship too easily. She survived too easily. Theory one, Eddie did this all to trick her, take the map pieces by coming after her. Theory two, there was something incredibly dangerous and powerful on the ship that had him sink it. Not whats happening. Though I liked your theories, you got whats going down nearly exactly.."

"Err.. well mostly exactly. You almost nailed it but one misscalculation could be quite dangerous..." Deva cleared her throat. "I entertained both of your theories.. and here is the kicker.. both are a bit correct, but neither went all the way to the real truth!" Deva nodded her head confidently, then inhaled.

"To find the truth, we must find which answer accounts for every last one of the questions this situation raises. First, let me address your second theory, I entertained that first, but it doesn't work out, and here is why.:

First, when he saw you catching up, he should have panicked. Instead, he regarded you with arrogant indifference, seeming annoyed, but not shocked at your survival and catching up.. if something dangerous was on the ship and he wanted to get rid of it.. he'd have panicked as you catching up would mean others could pursue him too! Nor did any of the men hesitate, for that matter they did not act like people that were afraid of something chasing them. If it was so powerful they had to sink a ship for it, surely, some of them would have been wary about sinking the ship being enough and wanted to get away, right?
More importanly, if there was something incredibly powerful on the ship, Edward would have hurried, as he would not have wanted anything to catch up to him, yet you could do so in a simple row-boat against a ship in full sails. A clear contradiction.
However, there was something powerful on that ship, more to that later.

Now, to your first theory.. it sounds good, but.. it has unecessary steps. He has to rely on your mercy, he has to rely on finding a new ship, that could take a while.. and then they have to catch up to you again... Nonono.

The one thing that destroying his ship accomplishes, without failure, for the money he was worth, for the codex or for respect for your fellow pirates, he and his crew... would be held on your ship, rather than getting booted off back to their own as soon as you won. So! if we assume that the only variables that were with absolute certainty in the control of the one responsible, was Edwards crew ending up on this very ship with yours, then, doesn't logically follow that the primary goal in all of this.. Was to have both crews together on this one ship!"
Deva felt the urge to point determinedly at Jade at that. "To what end you ask? I'll explain that too!
I think.. this victory of yours.. was planned for. Correct me if wrong, but even tightly bound.. you could likely free yourself.. ahem. Considering your first mate. Now, someone like Edward might even know that, but underestimate it arrogantly. Even without you there was a fair chance your crew would have escaped and these men.. none of them are a match for yours.

And that brings me to the final piece of the puzzle."
She inhaled. "This is what doesn't fit into the plan. Even if they did all that, if they got a new ship, even if they were arrogant and took you by suprise before. It doesn't make sense to just leave this to chance, could they track you down again? Could they win against you now that your guard was up after you released them on The Island? You look at this as if the goal is to defeat you. What if it was something more sinsistre... get it.. its like.. sinister but.. for sisters.. 'cause.. women appreciating pirate sisters? .. Ok I'm just gonna call you lesbians, so much easier. Ahem!

What happens if you make a dramatic, triumphant rescue of your whole crew? You let down your guard. After all, you've got eleven pieces and go for number twelve. You just defeated a long time nemesis, after impossible odds too. Why would you worry?
This. Right now. Is when you are the most vunerable.. not physically, but mentally!
Thats right. I suggest that the powerful person on Edwards ship the one he was not afraid of at all because he just got manipulated by them, is one of the prisoners. It's someone with powerful mind-enchanting magic, and perhaps a good amount of ability in illusory or transmutative magic to disguise themselfs as simple pirate. This is also how the one I pursue usually operates.. They like.. aquisitions more than destruction which another encounter would ensue."
She scratched the back of her head slightly, giving an emberassed grin. "Errr.. sadly.. I don't have any evidence for that yet though, it's not like they had time to use any magic in this chaos, but can any of you see a hole in my reasoning?.. I'd like a hole frankly, I'd rather not have to worry you, heh. Sorry.

"However, this is exactly why going down and questioning the prisoners is exeptionally dangerous.
My theory is, that someone on Edwards crew is not who they pretend to be. Blending into the backround. Subtly manipulating the captain, with just a hint of magic perhaps.. None of us think he is strong willed or smart enough to make this all happen.
Now, what are you going to do when you get your crew back and win.. you're gonna celebrate. Lewdly. And.. if we assume the worst case has happened, because, if it has.. better to do that. If it hasn't.. we'll lose nothing but a few minutes of planning.. aaand one of my powerful spells plus a little manipulation, but thats another thing.
If we assume the worst, the one that is hiding in Edwards crew is a far more subtle agent of the one I oppose. Because..
The one I oppose isn't after the treasure, not exactly. They are after exeptional people. After you. Your mind can become a dangerous target if it is too deeply engulfed in lusts, if your guard is down as you are certain you have won and the prisoners are secure.

And it is for that reason I am talking to you right now... if I'm right, and.. to be clear, this is a wild, random theory.. Both the bunny girl, and your first mate.. could already be influenced by the enemy. They've been handling the prisoners unwatched.
I suspect that whoever it may be already has control over Edwards crew and will slowly, subtly but throughoutly try to gain control of yours. The reason they went for Edward is because, obviously, he is far easier to fool and you'd put a new crew member, exspecially one approaching you to get hired under far more scrutiny than someone you captured, right?"
That was the only criticism Deva could see, it was easier to just go for the main target, but this way, the agent would sneak in by blending into the crew of someone far less cautious, recruit potential soldiers to enchant or convert and ensure that the more strong willed Jade would drop her caution a little in her percieved victory before aquiering the final map piece.

"Problem is, we're on the high seas. We can't just .. kick the poor crew out. Even worse would be inquiering the prisoners. They don't know that we know, if I'm right.. and that is a huge advantage. We need to figure out whats happening and how.. and figure out just who it could come from." Deva nodded. Admittedly, her tome could perhaps figure this out.. but again, she did not want to rely on it, and wanted it to soak up more power rather than use it as generously as the cloaked one. she had by now barely a tenth of the stories after all, presuming destruction and restoration gained an equal amount of energy, so, mathematically, she should use up only a tenth of the powers in reality shifting she saw the agents use to be safe.
"My arrival here could even aid the one who planned all this, I took out the captain, they can establish themselfs as leader and I keep you further distracted with a new initiate. Though, now that we know their plan.. we have the advantage.

Now, if I'm wrong and paranoid and this is all just a dumb coincidence, and perhaps Edward being super arrogant, perhaps even him planning to take the map from you, then all thats gonna happen is you're gonna.. uh well, have an interesting Evening, sailing on for the twelfth piece next.
If I'm right.. the whole crew might slowly feel an influence on their mind I think there's a good chance the prisoners will in due time break out, perhaps even changed from what you fought before... "
Deva nodded, clenching her fist. "And the worst is.. I can not say for sure that, anyone of your crew has not potentially been affected, whilest you were on the ship and escaping.. Do I sound crazy? What say you, captain? If you agree, let us head up the ship, just in case whoevers on board has good ears, acting as if, I dunno, I got lost for a moment, then as if we had to set sail, presuming something atacked the ship and is now after us, but also thinking we are secure in.. haaaah.." Deva inhaled, explaining:

"Forgot to breathe in.. haah.. thinking we are secure, once we put some distance from the wreckage. Oh and.. make sure that the prisoners are watched by someone easily disabled in combat. Also, it'd help if you could get a list of names with a short description of the prisoners, narrow them down, it wouldn't be anyone we directly fought, they'd not risk getting up close and exposing themselfs.. heh. Get it?.. Err... someone happy to blend into the backround... also narrow it down by crossing out anyone that's loudly complaining about being locked up if theres any. The list could be easily disguised as an attempt to look for bounties from the huntia.. hunaitiitai.. Hunitarians? .. if anyone asks. For now, until, hopefully, I'm proven wrong, don't trust anyone else with this information." Deva sighed, then looked over to Isa for a moment.

"I know, this is a lot to expect from a quasi-stranger. You've known this woman for years and on a wild theory I tell her she might be suspicious. If an enchantress was on the enemy ship, why would she go through that trouble, you ask, why not simply get assigned to prisoner duty and enslave everyone but you, whats one more or less going to change, well..." If there is an agent of the cloaked one, she'd know a bit about this story and it's hero and exactly what you could and could not push through.. am I being paranoid? No. This is the only answer that makes sense for all the questions. I can't believe Edward or anyone close to him would take such a risk, theres five steps in getting the ship, getting captured, getting released, getting a new ship, tracking down. There is only two steps in getting on the ship, and then either attacking the captured lesbian pirates, or subtly corrupting their minds as the ship travels on and they lower their mental guards.. The one..
one is..
speaking to objects. How exactly did Edward know to sneak up on the pirates at just the moment they were drunk. Could just be a coincidence? Or something else. He didn't seem like the highly tactical type. Was it luck, magic, or did someone tell him?

"Tina! Tanja.. whoever..! I'd like her to be the second one that's at my.. err.. intiation thing. You be number three. I want to hear what she says." Perhaps she's been talking all her life. Weaker mind, different mind.. sensitive mind. If she starts babbling about A Mistress, I'll know for sure. "Is she a submissive, by the way? Tana that is. Argh, lost my thought, right.. you have no way of knowing if you can trust me but.." Deva extended her hand, letting her illusion fade for a moment.. she could recall it easily enough after all. "Please trust me. I'm not good with telling the truth but I do so now, I'm Deva Undon, an angel-blooded human born in the desertlands of Mulhorandi in a world far far away and different from this one, raised as a healer at the Orphanage of Bastet and as long as I'm here, I will try to protect your crew from harm until my last breath." Deva nodded, holding her hand. If the captain took it, Deva would cause a not too high powered, but long lasting spell, helping bolster the captains mental resistances, just enough to throw off any well made calculations to control the same proper, though not a spell of greater power, for one, those wouldn't last as long, for two, whilest it could easily be assumed the piratess had a magic item or two on her own, a powerful magical aura might get attention as well.

Inwardly, Deva mused on. If her wild theorizing was correct, that told her a certain amount about her opponent... and nothing she liked. Subtle. Smart. Manipulative. A chess-player like herself. Deva had seen the captain and her first mate fight and frankly, guessing at their full strength, either of them could at least keep her occupied for a little, if the rest of the crew was just a fraction as capable, even Deva would have some serious trouble with all of the crew plus a top ten servant of the cloaked one plus a potental horde of minion-pirates from Edwards crew against her. Then again, What would the plan be? The crew she had seen was predominatly male and she was quite certain most of these pirates weren't particularly interested in that.. She'd just have to try to blend in and keep her eyes open, perhaps.

"We'll make sure that your drinks are non-alcoholic. Never heard of being able to fight BETTER while drunk, but there are all sorts of crazy things in the world..." Jade would give Deva a nod, keeping a mental note that the angel wasn't one that she'd want to give too much booze, even if that would normally help her seduction. "Hey, confident as I am in myself, I'm not a narcissist! I think that I'm one of the last people that I'd want to sleep with. Sure I'm decently beautiful, but I'd never get over the fact that it was me..." She'd joke, still preferring Deva the way she was as opposed to any sort of disguise that she made for herself. While sleeping with her 'perfect woman' was kind of interesting, in her mind a disguise ruined the pure intimacy of the moment, where two are lying in bed with one another, completely exposed and vulnerable as they started a night of intense passion.

"I've even finally reached the point where I can beat Zana in a fair fight. Sure she's got the strength and numbers advantage, but I fight smarter, and with a bit more agility. And to be fair to your allies... It's very easy to grow a bit cocky when you've got someone really reliable on your side. Heck, I should know! I'm insufferably cocky when I've got my crew on my side, but that's only because I know that they can handle nearly anything that's thrown at them." The piratess would joke, while still showing just how much faith she put into her crew. "Hmph! I don't give a damn how old you actually are, you're young at heart and look absolutely gorgeous, so we can BOTH just hide our age with things like that..." Age wasn't all that important to the captain, as she herself had to hide it fiercely whenever she could. Instead she preferred to just be herself and let everyone make their guesses to her age on their own time, that way she never had to divulge that kind of information about herself.

"Well then I suppose that there's no choice but to have you strip down to nothing then. Rules are rules after all, I can't go making exceptions just because you don't wear underwear..." Jade would say, acting as though it were an inconvenience to everyone that Deva didn't have underwear. Though she'd once again give the angel a wink, even more eager to get on with her initiation now that she knew the unique circumstances around it. "Oh, we'll get you extra towels for it... I'll even warm them up for you so that they're comfy and can help you after a dip in the cold sea. The good news is that it won't be for very long all things considered. We don't want you to get sick or anything, just want to make sure you don't turn tail and run at a bit of cold water." She would at least make sure to provide Deva with towels that would help her to shake off the frigid waters.

"Oh my... it's quite rare that I meet anyone willing to do things without the promise of reward. Perhaps it's just my line of business and all, or it could be that you're a very darn good person. I mean, even I get a bit annoyed to not get a reward for helping people out. That doesn't mean I won't do it... but my goodness you don't see too many kind souls like that these days..." The captain would compliment, not used to running into anyone this generous. Normally she ran into people that would sell their own parents out for a little bit of gold, and never had she found people that were willing to do anything for free. Even now she gave her crew a cut of the treasure because she knew that they wouldn't be willing to work for free. "And I'll be sure to tell the chef not to get you anything with meat in it. Shouldn't be too big of a problem. Honestly she doesn't cook with too much meat anyway. Meat's not exactly easy to store for weeks at a time out on the sea. I think we'll also be able to get you some tea and sugary drinks, but only for special occasions. You'd be amazed by how much she can make with so little. Really helps us travel light." And it saved them a whole lot of money in the long run as well. Food was expensive to store and keep fresh, so the longer that it could last, the more cost effective things were. Meat was tough to store, so generally their meals only had meat a few days after shipping out from port.

"Sure thing! I'm sure that Tina would be more than happy to talk to you... and your hat... and your coat... and probably the door that you use to get into the room. A bit off, but otherwise she's a really fun person to be around. She's a good soul and a good lay." Jade would explain to her, smiling a bit when she thought about Tina and some of their more intimate times together. "Thank you for the offer of help, Deva. I won't argue against you looking into my history and creation all too much. However, I'd be very surprised if we managed to find anything all that complicated on the subject. With how long I can recall myself as existing, I really don't know if there's any trace left. Still... thank you very much for the consideration. Though if it's all the same to you, once it's all done I'd still prefer to mostly be around you on a shelf, and converse whenever you feel like it. I enjoy conversation as well, when you can't do too much to move yourself, you're really only left with the options to observe and converse, and one will get boring if I don't get to do a bit of the other." The Tome would explain, willing to help Deva look for anything it could about its past, so long as Deva didn't plan on abandoning it completely once everything was over and done with.

"Yeah, sometimes Oliver is really good at getting his outfit on right... Little guy is smarter than he seems. I think he knows that many of us really like his little outfit, would probably also explain why he gets a bit antsy whenever he can't see it." Then Jade would laugh when Deva voted Oliver to be the one at her initiation, clapping a bit before recomposing herself and giving Deva a wide smile. "Clever! Now you're thinking like a pirate! Never said that Oliver COULDN'T be one of the people watching over you. I think this'll be a first for the little guy. Though, if that's the case then we're gonna have to at least have Lucy around outside the room. Oliver doesn't like being too far away from her if he can help it." She would explain, but otherwise allowing the idea of Oliver being there to view her initiation. That would be a bit of an interesting experience, and it proved to the pirate captain that Deva could think creatively.

"Heh... Family. It's one of the most valuable treasures you'll ever get. Treasure them when they're around, and remember that they helped make you what you are today..." Jade would give a heartfelt smile and pat the angel on the shoulder before gesturing her hand around the ship, indicating her own family, her crew. They were important to her, and while they were much more kinky than a regular family, she still cared about them deeply, and would give her own life for them if she had to.

The pirate captain may not have been as smart as Deva, but she understood the idea of talking fast and thinking fast, moving to multiple different subjects to put her thoughts on the proper track. Which meant that she was able to at least keep up, listening in and nodding a bit at some of Deva's thoughts on the matter. "Mmmmm... I dunno, candy isn't the best way for me to gauge just how good you are with that tongue. I think I'll need to see that for myself before I just accept that it's as skilled as you say." She'd wink, already eager to see Deva in her bedroom at some point soon. Edys, meanwhile, would look up after she had started getting a headache from listening to Deva's fast thinking. "Nyaaaah! It's 'kay! Just really confusing to hear all those big words and stuffs. I think I'll go do something else for a bit as you do all the crazy thinkie thinks! Have fun!" She'd call back, waving at Deva as well as she went off to where Jade had indicated, still seeming very cheery, especially now that she didn't have to try and listen to all the super smart things that Deva had to say. "Wow... Don't think I've ever managed to give someone a headache with just my words. You're quite an impressive one... But I suppose that we have more important things to discuss rather than just complimenting the way that you think. Don't worry too much though, I'm pretty sure you're thinking would've probably hurt Eddie's head as well!" She'd joke, unable to help herself even now that she knew there were more important things to discuss. Even when things were serious, didn't mean that you yourself had to be serious.

"Oh come now, I'm not all that clever. I just do whatever works and run my mouth until something seems to work properly. I guess that is a sign of being clever, but I really wouldn't go that far." With that in mind, she'd give Deva another smile, before looking Isa over a bit when she showed up. "Wait, so we're gonna be pirates all of a sudden? I mean, I guess if it'll make things work out... Though what's all this about a pirate's initiation?" Isa would react, willing to become a pirate so long as it meant that things were going to go well. Though before she got her answer, she was pulled into the zone of silence to talk with the pirate captain and her companion.

"My lips are sealed. Don't worry, I'm pretty darn good at keeping secrets. Like I said earlier, my age is a secret that I keep close to my heart. I don't think there's a single soul across the seas that knows that information about me. But anyway, with that in mind, I'd love to hear what ideas you have about what's going on. Now that you've mentioned it, a lot of this just doesn't seem to fit together properly." She normally was good at figuring out the situation when something strange was going on. However, this one was something that she seemed to have no real experience dealing with, and things went very well all things considered. Knowing how things normally go, things almost never went this well without there being some form of catch. If the angel had some sort of idea of what was going on, then it'd be absolutely foolish of her to not give her words any attention. So with all that in mind, she'd listen attentively to Deva describing why her theory doesn't completely work.

"I see... Eddie planning all this had far too many moving parts for it to have been worthwhile. There were too many variables that no one could predict for, even someone as dumb as Eddie would've been able to know that such a plan relied on A LOT of luck... Plus even if there was a way to set it all up in advance, Eddie wouldn't be smart enough to get it all together." Plus destroying his own ship was something that most pirates wouldn't even dream of doing. While Jade knew that Eddie was dirty enough to try those kinds of tricks, he wouldn't have done it without a concrete plan and reason. The man was stupid and spiteful, but that didn't mean that he'd just callously blow his own ship up just for a long shot of a plan. "Likewise, if he's tried to get something away from himself, and trap me with it, he'd have panicked when he saw me coming after him, and would've moved far too fast to catch up with. If he saw me coming after him, then that would've meant that whatever he locked me up with could be coming after him as well. Instead he was calm enough to fight and insult me. Plus, he'd have hightailed it out of here as fast as he could to get away from it. Sure his crew is smaller, and his ship is smaller, but they'd still be able to get this things moving to get out of here as fast as possible..." She'd think, nodding in agreement to the ideas that Deva was bringing up, still thinking carefully about everything that had happened.

"So rather than trying to overcome me and take me out, it was an attempt to get onto this ship instead? They weren't just trying to take me out, they wanted to get everything together for a more sinister plan... Now THAT'S clever... and even more concerning because it could work..." Jade stood there and thought to herself a bit, still nodding in agreement with Deva as she explained her theory, and gave the information, evidence, and logic to back it up. Her own ideas may have worked in some ways, there were just too many questions that were still left unanswered, which meant that it couldn't completely be the right idea. "And because they framed it as though I was victorious, I'm more vulnerable because in my mind, I've won... Oh that's brilliant! And terrifying, of course, but brilliant! They made it as though I was the winner in this entire situation. I wouldn't have to worry because I've already captured one of my biggest enemies. Which gives my enemy the element of surprise, the most deadly weapon of any pirate..." She'd nod in agreement, thinking carefully about everything, taking a moment to consider if there was any sort of hole in Deva's theory, carefully examining it over just in case the angel had potentially missed something. "Unfortunately, I don't think there is any flaw in that theory of yours... Nothing that I can see at the very least..."

Though her eyes would narrow a bit when Deva said that Edys and Zana could both already be ensnared by whatever was planning all of this. All without any proof, but also all very possible with the situation that occurred. "And whoever this is... they're not after the map pieces? They're after me... Which in turn would mean that bringing themselves on here would be a perfect chance to get at me. They have a free shot at me when my guard is down... But this suggestion that Zana can't be trusted... I don't like it. These are the women that I've trusted my whole life... I owe Zana my life, for multiple different reasons..." While she could believe that her enemy would attempt something like this, she really didn't like the idea of not trusting her own first mate without any proof. They were a crew that were meant to trust one another, and bringing forth suspicion without any evidence, meant that she would be breaking that trust in a way.

But then she would close her eyes for a moment as Deva continued making her case, sighing deeply, sounding more tired than she had at any point so far. Her expression grew even more serious before she looked at Deva determinedly. "I... I suppose you might be right... We will go with your plan... BUT... if you are wrong, and if Zana is NOT under any sort of influence, then you need to promise something to me. You need to promise that you will explain every detail about that suspicion to Zana, and apologize to her. That is what you have to risk if you want my help in this matter. I want a vow from you that if you are wrong, you will give your apology." She wouldn't allow suspicion without the person bringing it forth having some sort of risk, and for the first time the pirate captain looked deadly serious as she spoke to Deva. Not as though she were threatening her, but more like she wasn't even able to joke about something that she considered this serious. Her crew was her family, and currently Deva was asking her to be suspicious of what was essentially her own sister. Which meant that she could believe that her sister could do something terrible, but her first instinct was to trust the woman that had been so helpful to her. "If you can not promise me that, then I will not go along with your plan whatsoever. In fact, if you are not willing to agree to at least that, then I WILL tell the entire crew about this theory of yours. I refuse to deceive my crew without reason, so I ask you put something up in turn."

Though she'd calm herself down before nodding at Deva's other picks for her initiation, thinking for a bit before giving a slightly weary smile. "Tina will like that. She never gets to do initiations because people are usually too scared of her at first. And yes, she's a submissive through and through. Though if you plan on bringing suspicion her way as well, that's just another person that you're going to have to add to the 'potential apology' list. Of course, if you're right then there's no need to worry about that." Jade would explain to her, already getting the list down in her head of who was going to be present for everything. "Your friend is gonna be in on this too then? I assume she wants the same people there?" "Errr... I guess so. Probably easier that way, unless Deva has any other suggestions."

Suddenly Jade would take Deva's hand in both of hers and look directly into her eyes again, welcoming and trusting now that Deva was being completely honest with her. "Deva Undon... I trust you. I gave you the offer to join my crew for a reason. Thank you for being honest with me... and in return I will put my faith in you, in your intelligence in this situation." The woman told her, giving her a heartfelt smile as she held Deva's hand. Though then she'd kneel down and plant a kiss on the back of Deva's hand, looking up at her and giving her a flirty wink before popping back up to her feet rather quickly. "Alright then. Let's get going up to the crew, but you're gonna have to do most of the talking, the crew knows me well enough to be really good at telling when I'm lying. Even if I'm good at it, they've seen it more than enough time to know the tells." The woman would stand up and lead the way, taking the two of them back above deck, opening it up to see that the crew had been mostly freed. As there were quite a few pirate women going around and getting the ship ready to sail, while one woman stood giving them orders. Though the first mate would be nowhere to be seen right now, still putting the prisoners in their cells.

The woman had red hair, and was dressed in a more military uniform rather than the look the rest of the crew had. She had a large chest at her feet, and was giving orders to the crew to get things set up. But when she saw Deva and the captain, she'd walk over and bow to Jade. "Good to see you, captain. I was just going over the treasure we picked up from their ship, they brought all their gold on here. Not much, but it's a decent gain!" "Good to hear, Jane! Aved, this is Jane Ricca, she's in charge of our stock of treasure and other supplies on here. Jane, this is Aved, a soon to be member of our crew." The woman would smile at Deva and bow, before standing up straight again and returning to her work. "OY! Listen up GIRLS!" Jane would call out to all of them, getting the attention of everyone working on things, all of them looking at the captain, giving their full attention. "Our soon to be crew member has some things to tell you all! And once it's done I want a bunch of you to prepare for a few initiations tonight!" With that she'd step aside and let Deva say her piece. Though before she began, the whole crew would cheer and clap for a bit, happy to have a few more people on the crew, and wanting to give Deva a warm welcome.

"I've never heard of fingering a safe to get into it." Deva chuckled. "I thought people only locked doors that way." Then winked. "Sleeping with yourself huh? Heh. I believe it depends on the person. I have no problem with myself, I'm overall accomondating, though a bit crazy and lazy both." She explained as if talking out of experience, well there was her simulacrum power... "It's true, friends can empower you, but it's harder to tell them 'listen, the only reason you are alive and well is my magic, so let me recover it'" Deva chuckled and smiled subtly at being called young at heart. The piratess didn't know what kind of feat that was.. but she couldn't help it! She chuckled once more at the plans of the lewd lesbian piratess (LLP).

"As long as the cold water doesn't attack me back, I'm not afraid of it. I just don't particularly like cold and uncomfy." Deva shrug-complained. "A good soul?" She mused, and for once, didn't complain, being good wasn't equivalent to being a hero. "I guess you could say that." She smiled a soft, yet confident smile. "Interesting."
Deva noted, but did not mean that, hearing about food spoiling fast told her something about the magic of this world, so it was advanced, but not quite on her level yet, where there were spells for food-creation or preservation as well.

"Oh, the tales this hat can tell. Not sure on the cloak, it's a bit moody." Deva grinned. "Never met a person that wasn't a bit off, in their own way.. as you yourself hinted at earlier." She nodded, making a note to respond to her tomey later. "It's my first initiation into a pirate crew too, so it's only fair." She nodded back to the pirate captain.

"Eh, we are alike Captain Jade, my own family is.. tricky, but I'm happy in knowing the one I've chosen and created is safe." She nodded, chuckling after Edys left. "And I didn't even use any complicated words if you ask me, words like Candy-core-centre or inverted arcane flow manipulation or extra dimensional space overlay confluence." She shrugged, thinking those words created by mages that wanted to show off without letting others understand simple stuff easily, and because she liked the piratess, she did just that: "Candy core s an extra sweet thingie at the core of a sometimes sour or hard cany. Inverted arcane flow manipulation is the simple concept that by overloading a spell with magic of the opposite energy composition one can turn the spell back upon it's original and extra dimensional space overlay confluence is the reason you don't want to put two bags that are bigger on the inside than they look into one another, it causes a dimensional rupture from the two overlaying trans-dimensional compression matrixeses.. silly word, that is if you are lucky. Simple stuff, mages just try to make it complicated to sound important." Deva explained in a way casual enough to give away that her ponderings so far had been more of the tip of the iceberg. Deva then chuckled at the piratess. "Exactly how I do it. I just had the time to read a book or two. The trick is talking really fast, doing your best, hoping something good happens, then claiming the credit." She grinned and pointed at the piratess.

"I wanna be a pirate! Please Isa.. Isaaaaa?" She whiney-pleaded. "Yeah, I both like and dislike things not fitting left and right." She nodded, in agreement to this and the captains asessment of there being too many random variables. "Frankly, if it had been Eddies plan that would have simplified things, plus he propably would have taunted you a few times on deck. He seemed the type that couldn't let someone not know he did something.. granted, me and you are the same, but we know patience." She chuckled again, then nodded on at the pirateess agreeeing with her. "The way to undermining your opponents plan is to assume they are as smart and as capable as possible. If they are that good, you can devise a counter. If they are not, you can deal with them more easily anyway." Deva explained her strategies. "Exactly. Overconfident enemies and a suprise is how I triumphed over thousands. You are capable enough not to overestimate yourself like Edwards normally, but if given the right kind of food, you too can be mislead." Deva left out that a part of her considerations stemmed from how -she- would try to defeat the piratess, if she had to.

"It is, sadly, the only theory explaining all the information we posess right now. Time will tell if it can be verified or denied." The downside of knowing the enemy would strike was that she didn't know where, how or how strong by her theory alone, but, the pirate-captain being more wary in general would already help. "One thing that I don't like is that you were off, trapped at the ship at all, it's still a risky move, you could have had a leg-cramp whilest trying to free yourself or somesuch, it seems unecessary flamboyant.. Anyway, I promise to explain this and apologize to Zana, if I'm wrong." She nodded, having no intention of actually doing any of it, then however, she shrugged. "Frankly, turning everyone could work too though. I mean, hey, while at it, let's put on party-hats and party with the prisoners, really rub it under their noses, will be super-emberassing if I'm wrong, but forcing an opponents hand and confusing them in one go is a good counter to well planned strategy." Deva explained. The reason she had not suggested this was that all of this was just a hunch.. usually her suspicions turned out not unfounded, but she wanted to do this more subtly until she was more certain.

"Jade, in all my years I've regretted being right more than I have being wrong. Just like I regretted having power over being powerless. I don't expect you to understand." She shrugged. "Oh? People knowing when you lie? The trick is to learn two sets of tells and subtly remind yourself you are lying when you are telling the truth, that way you can lie to everyone when theres a need to." Deva said, though felt a bit too chatty as she remembered Isa by her side.

Deva tipped her hat at the captains announcement, taking a step forward. "Hello y'all, call me Aved. Long story short, me and me companion here...." This feels as if I'm still forgetting something. If it was an agent of the cloaked one, they wouldn't want to risk the captain dying. They wouldn't want to.. family. That's what the captain called them. She had started her assumptions with the captain being beyond reproach, because she certainly seemed capable.. Shapeshifting imposter. Posessor hiding? "Terrible at public speeches! Ah ah.. sorry. I'm a pirate-magician, she's a cool-pirate. We happened upon Edwards ship when I cast a little magic that allows me to teleport to where the best fun is to be had. So right after, I encounter your captain boarding this ship, which turned out to be her ship. I busy myself with the mean enemy pirate captain.. don't worry Edys, he's nowhere to be found now, but whilest I do that I hear the captains story.

Anyone else here think it odd this Edwards ship went down as fast as it did? He wouldn't just sink it on purpose. We are theorizin someone actually damaged it priorly.. and, reason I keep introductions short is, well, who or whatever managed to damage his ship, might still be about, might be a good idea to take sails, savy?"
Deva explained, looking over the LPC (Lesbian pirate crew) thoughtfully. There was the possibility that the captain was left behind, defenseless, for a reason.. but at this point she was feeling paranoid. She needed to gather more information,..and one crazy gal was perhaps not the best source. Well, if in doubt, Deva liked to dive right into the fun. Either way, her opponent was put into a feeling of false safety with Deva making wrong assumptions. They couldn't know that Deva was making a couple more already. One of them had to be right in the end! A lack of ideas had never been her issue.
"So, far be it from me to command ye to do anything, but I suggest everyone necessary to get this fine ship rolling do that, now, whilest we prepare for initiationing and set off. I'll pass the time.." Deva hopped up on a reiling, relaxing on it.
"By telling you a story! Has riches in it, so is piratey story too." Deva leaned back, enjoying her time with the pirate crew, and letting her worries become secondary, casting a subtle spell to let her voice echo over the ship. She'd deal with issues as they came up, if they came up, she decided. "So. A long time ago, there lived a rich emperor. So rich infact, he didn't know what to do with his money. He had mountains of copper, silver, gold and even platinum as well as a bunch of gemstone. Anyone want to guess what he did with 'em? .... Nope! He used a little part of his fortune to buy a golem maker. Not ordinary golems, oh no, though the concept was similiar to the Iron-golem.. just using different metals and creation processes. The Golem creator was happy about testing their craft, though suggested a way for repairs. Whilest the fortune of the Emperor could now defend itself, quite literally, there might still be damage, and a self maintaining army was quite valuable. And thus it was done. An army of foot-soldiers of Bronce, lead by commanders of silver, captains of gold and a Platinum general, all with their own abiliities. Supported they were by gemstone-golems and creations of more rare, precious metals, emerald chargers, rose beryl defenders, heartwire scouts and so on and forth. The least of the golems were the tinmen, intelligent construct-healers. The army served the emperor well and with little losses, showing off power and riches a the same time.
However, the Emperor quickly grew bored of these toys. The only ones he'd not get bored about were the cheap tinmen, for they thought and acted on their own, loyal to the emperor as they were as well.
So one day, the emperor decided to transform his army, using powerful magic, although it would not be as powerful as it once had been, he gave them all independence, turning them into an army of virgins. (lots of red-heads if anyone wonders). Though they were vunerable now, they could act on their own, learn and laugh and play and.. procreate. And that is how the richest emperor spent their wealth in the end, teaching us that we can grab ourself riches, and might and power, but those are just means to an end and sometimes we've been looking at one thing for so long, we forget what we were actually looking for."
She explained. "Hope you enjoyed, alright, thanks everyone, I need to sort my thoughts and prepare for the initation thingie with my cool pirate companion!" She waved Isa over and pondered, looking over at her tome.

"So! Sorry for rope-a doping you into the whole piracy thing, but I think it's awesome. By the by, I'm pondering the tomes origin, but it seems to be a challenge." She chuckled to her tome "You realize the more you mope about and discourage me the more interested I get. So, if you want, think about what your first.. memory is. The more I understand about your workings, the better I know whats coming for me as well.
Isa, a more.. advanced, fundamental teaching about magic is that every power, every ability has a working principle behind it, advantages and disadvantages. The basics of the cloaked ones special abilities seem simple enough, the more extensive a change, the more energy used up, yet this is not universally true based on magnitude, but more based on the surrounding world. Example, making ice in a world that does not know ice at all, is more troublesome. I'm theorizing that the cloaked one uses a world or worlds in which specific changes are rather easy to implement.. if she did not, empowering all her servants to this degree in a world resilient to it would already tax her reserves, though we can't guess how vast those are still.
Another feature of these powers I already derived is that they are based on a persons own abilities more easily as well as their creativity. A force-field seems to be easy, because it is easy to envision, but more things, nearly anything could be possible. A pen and a piece of paper is the most dangerous in the hands of a creative mind, after all. Welp, anyway, tomey I'll certainly keep in mind to chit-chat from time to time."
Deva offered, then sighed, leaning into her tome and whispering for a moment. "But don't think I don't already understand well what you are. What I could do with you. A mind like mine, a power like yours, don't think I don't understand or desire to use your powers because I do. Don't think any sense of morality or goodness keeps me from using your powers to protect people, because I've already done a lot of terrible things for that." She exhaled, looking over to Isa and her Tomey. "Isa, I want you to not have hard feelings towards the cloaked one. I know what she did, I know why you want to defeat her, but, if I had gotten a tome such as this before a certain fateful day, I may well have become her." The angel exhaled. "There was a moment in my life when I tried to go back, tried to fix things, where I would have done anything to stop what I had to do and I'm certain that had I done such, and had I listened to the wrong people afterwards, I'd have turned out quite like this cloaked one.. Then again, you could say the same about any old mad wizard or cultist. We can't change the past, but we can change the future." She chuckled, focusing back on the tome.

"I do what I do not because it's necessarily easy, or good, I do what I do because it is right. Do you two know why we make ourselfs enemies, why the Piratess mocked Edward? It's because enemies are easy. We can pretend our enemies are bad and we are good and the worse our enemies the better we must be. What we don't like about ourselfs, our enemies can be and in defeating them we feel like we overcame such unovercomeable flaws. The truth is much harder, in reality, we don't have all thats good in us and they are not exclusively bad and I'm no better, I arbitrarily draw a line and say 'this feels wrong to me', when I hear people like Mortema or Azalea or the cloaked ones deeds, no matter her intentions, and I interpose myself and limit -their- freedoms. Yet, I can never know if I'm never under the dellusion that what I'm doing is right, because I know that in theory, every moment I wait, they could have a change of heart, decide to forget their pain and fear and try to better themselfs, without my input, thus, whenever I take action to limit someones freedom, it's always innately morally wrong. Doing true good to stop evil is impossible, unless that evil can be moved to a compromise, with mere words.
So, we could try to measure our actions by the good they do for the people, we could accost the cloaked one of leaving people behind, yet, in intent, both I and her are trying to do what we think is good. So, if we both compromise with the intent of doing good, is this not ultimately just two viewpoints of two powerful people clashing, with us making our battlefields other peoples homes?"
Deva shook her head. "There is an innate problem. I am not taking action on my own. She is the one chosing to go to war for peace. An oxymoron, as is destroying stories to safe them. But Isa! I want you to understand how close we stand, so you do not fight our enemy with hatred. We do what we do without reward, without hatred and without a chance. Without reward you have already seen enough of, but in due time the other two will also become important. It is alright to dislike someone like Mortema. It is alright to be disgusted by the deeds of the cloaked one, but as the tome wishes, it's important to stop. Theres so many villains, the only way to halt them all is to enforce your own form of tyranny. Similiarly, I've noticed you are ready to do whatever it takes to stop the cloaked one.. don't be.

I understand that, deep down, a part of you is there that thinks that you've lost so much and have so little now that you are willing to do whatever it takes so no one else will have to feel that way, sounding about right?"
Deva tilted her head. "Well, that part of you, that's the same part that drove the cloaked one to her actions in the first place. I think these things too, I think 'the cloaked one must be stopped for destroying my story, for those wicked agents she uses, and so on' and it's alright to feel that way, but that is not what should control our actions. Do you understand what this tome is saying when it asks to be put in a bookshelf? It's a sword, asking for a scabbard. Our goal is not to destroy a villain, just to stop them for good.. sadly, sometimes doing that means we must do worse than destroy them.

Now then, that I got all the babbling out of the way.. sorry, need to do that from time to time and this pirate ship is awesome, got me in talky mood..

Tomey, send the cloaked ones tome the message.: "
She inhaled, thinking again for a moment. She had to distill everything the Cloaked one feared and disliked into a single sentence, in the hopes of pushing her into rasher actions and lure her into the false story. At the same time, she had to make sure not to provoke a direct confrontation at this point, so direct threats were out of the question. No, Deva needed something that would gnaw at the cloaked one. She just hoped she understood the cloaked one well enough by what she had heard of her and her agents so far. Then again, looking at Mortemas seemingly recent recruitment, the Cloaked one was being lax with her recruitment already.. infact, Mortema, the angel-disliking darkness user being defeated would support her case. "It's the nature of time that the old ways must give in." She nodded. This could easily enough be misread as Deva seeing herself as more powerful new tome-user enforcing her will, but it had hidden a more subtle sting for the one seeking to preserve stories.

"Well, I figure if you want my treasures you gotta know your way around a lady. The mechanism even changes every so often so that it's never just pure memorization. You gotta KNOW how to please a woman if you ever want a chance of getting in." Jade would explain, chuckling a bit when it came to her safe. It had cost her a pretty penny to get that safe, but so far it had kept quite a few people out. "I'll remember not to be too cocky around you then! But if you ask any of the girls, I suppose they'll tell you that's easier said than done. Always feel free to remind me that I'm going too far, I do my best to listen to my crew." While that may not mean that she would always take their advice, she'd at least hear them out and allow them to state their case. If the crew felt that they couldn't talk to her, then she'd feel like a failure as a captain, and not only that but she'd probably walk into some kind of danger by overlooking something important. Though she did smile at Deva liking that she had been called 'young at heart', having enjoyed that compliment herself quite a few times.

"I guess that means that I'll prepare a much more warm and comfy place for you once things are done. Warm towels and everything. Wouldn't want you to feel unwelcome." The piratess would chuckle a bit and make another mental note of what she'd need to prepare for Deva's initiation. "Well darn... I kind of wish that I talked to objects now... Would love to hear the stories that your hat could tell. Maybe you'd be able to translate them for me at some point?" The captain would ask, always being interested in new stories, whether they involved her own adventures or the journeys of someone else. Either way, she reminded herself that there were more important things to focus on at this point, she had a new crew member to induct and a potential disaster on her hands if they didn't do the right things.

"Families are strange. I've got a four armed blue skinned woman, a girl that talks to inanimate objects, and a woman that has a ferret on her shoulder in my family, along with dozens of other absolutely wonderful ladies. Sure we ain't your 'traditional' family, but we care for one another just as much. We fight and argue so much, but then we make up and joke and laugh and care for one another. I guess families don't normally have sex as often as we do though... that's kind of where the metaphor falls apart, eh? Still, I consider them family." Jade would joke, realizing that was the one major part where they weren't like a family at all. Well, they were probably like SOME families out there, but not the kinds that she'd specifically want to emulate. "Ooooh! Big words that sound all complex are the best though. They make people think that you're really smart, and if you say them fast enough they get confused and think that you're right even when you're just spouting nonsense!" The captain would laugh, memorizing those terms in case they somehow came in handy later. "I mean, sure it's better to use simple words when trying to just talk to your allies, but those big words are great against your enemies!" She'd nod, showing her own strategies when it came to facing her enemies.

"I've already been a bunch of other things to help you out, I've got no problem with being a pirate. Sounds like it might be a bit of fun." Isa would agree, giving Deva a smile to show that she was on board with this plan. "Even the most careful person in the world will grow overconfident if you throw a big enough victory their way... It's actually incredibly brilliant if you're right. And if you're right then there's no way that Eddie would've thought it up on his own. The man is tougher than he looks sometimes, but he sure ain't a smart one..." The woman continued thinking, nodding a bit at what Deva was saying, looking more concerned about the things that could be going on right under her nose. If things were as Deva was saying, then everything could be falling apart right before the piratess got the very last piece of the treasure map. "Well, if I were a betting woman, I'd say that I was left on the ship because such an attack would make me too focused on the events around me rather than any extra plan involved. If I was just thrown in the brig or something simpler, I'd have time to think and potentially discover this plan. If you leave me on a drowning ship, if you KNOW that I can survive something like that, by say, leaving me a life boat, then you leave me too focused on the moment to think. I'm preoccupied with getting off the sinking ship before I die, then I'm preoccupied with catching up with my ship before it gets too far away, then I'm preoccupied with saving my crew and beating Eddie, and by the time that's all said and done, I've completely forgotten about anything that might have concerned me earlier. It puts me into a dangerous situation, and stops me from thinking on their plan any more than I might have before. If not for you I'd have never expected something like this because I'd be constantly caught up in the moment." Jade would offer as an explanation, figuring that such a trick would work incredibly well on someone like her that was so focused on action and getting things done, and would therefore not think carefully when there was something that needed to be done immediately.

"Just remember that I'll be holding you to that promise. If I can't trust the word of my own crew, then what can I trust?" She'd ask, smiling at Deva now that she had agreed to her terms about Zana. She may not like putting suspicion on her own crew, but she at least understood that circumstances called for it. "Thanks for the advice, by the way, but I honestly prefer my crew being able to know when I'm lying. Gives me less reason to try and deceive them." She would inform the angel, showing how much faith that she put into her crew. She did her very best not to lie to them, and thankfully she became less and less able to anyway. To the point where nowadays she couldn't lie to any of her crew members without them knowing and usually calling her out on it.

The entire crew would give Deva full attention, a few of them seeming surprised by the things that she was warning them about, and a few would start to talk with the people around them about whether or not they noticed something strange. Either way, once the angel was done, they'd all rush off to their positions, working on getting their ship moving as fast as possible. "You heard the lady, let's get this thing out of here as fast as we possibly can! The faster the better!" Jade would reinforce, giving Deva's words a bit of extra weight by giving her orders to the crew. Then she'd pull a few people aside and start talking with them, one of them being Jane. "I want you all to get things ready for initiations tonight. Hold off on the Bunny Girl for now, I wanna make sure it ain't still Eddie in there. I want you to get Tina and Oliver... Which means get Lucy up here so the little guy won't panic. We'll need extra towels, and I want them heated up before the initiations. And get a couple emblems ready for the two of them." The group would nod, and the woman in a more military get up would salute. "Aye Captain! I'll get right on that. And afterwards I'll get to properly handing out everyone's shares of the new treasure!" She'd promise, before the group of women not working on the ship would head off to get things prepared. Meanwhile, Jade would begin walking around and starting to talk to anyone working on things, giving orders to make sure that her ship was running smoothly and no one was slacking off. Just because she cared for them as a family, didn't mean that she would let them all slack off all day when there was work to be done. Everyone pulled their own weight, that was how things kept running, and how they became successful pirates. Though she'd pause for a moment as she heard Deva's story, and while everyone else would keep working, they'd all be listening in to what she was saying as well. By the end of it, the angel would notice that everyone was glancing over and listening to her story while they worked, none of them slowing down, but all of them wanting to see where the story was going. Once she had finished, a few people would take a short break from their efforts and give her a round of applause, more because they enjoyed having some sort of story to listen to while they worked on everything around them. Though once she had finished and stepped away, the crew working as they worked, all of them starting to join in as they kept the ship moving, a few of them laughing and smiling despite the tough work they were doing to get the ship moving. Even Jade would smile a bit and start tapping her foot in time with the song as she walked around, surveying the ship and keeping everything going.

"Hey, like I had already said, there's no problem from me on this. I've already been a slime person fan girl, and an ice priestess with you. 'Pirate' is just another role that I'm happy to play if it'll help you out some more. Who knows, might even be fun! The Tome's origin? Not even Serp could tell me anything about that. Everything that we've learned is from watching the Cloaked One act in different stories." Isa would answer, already having a good idea just how much of a problem finding out that information would be. "I am not moping!" the Tome would protest, though Deva would get the sense that it was more of a playful protest than anything else. "I just wanted you to be ready for how difficult this might be. My first memory? One moment... The first thing in my memory is my first conversation with my very first wielder. I know for a fact that I existed for quite a while before that conversation, but I know nothing about that time. It went... 'You're pretty incredible... Can't believe that you can manage that!' 'Why thank you, I'm happy to be appreciated.' 'WHOA! You can talk?!' 'It seems I can... Is that odd?' 'Kind of... I mean, I've never seen a book talk before. I'd heard Tomes can do some crazy things, but no one told me that they can talk.' 'If it displeases you, I could remain silent...' 'No, no! Feel free to speak your mind! It's just a bit strange is all... Geez... Alright then, what do books even talk about?' 'I'm... not sure. This is very new to me as well...' 'Well then let's find some stuff to talk about!' It could go on for a while longer if you'd like, but it's not all that interesting. I wasn't exactly great at conversation back then. Though looking back on it... It is rather strange that I knew how to answer to compliments..." The Tome would answer to her, transcribing the first conversation that it had long ago.

Isa would listen to Deva's description about the powers she was figuring out about the Tome, nodding a bit. "Wow... I don't think that any of us had figured out that much at this point. Then again, none of us have ever been able to use one." She'd shrug, once again impressed by how much Deva could figure out in such short time. "So the Cloaked One is somewhere where the rules are thin, because that gives her the chance to use less energy? Wouldn't that mean bringing her into the Lands Between would be dangerous? After all, I don't think that place has any real rules about that kind of stuff. Wouldn't it give her MORE powers? At the same time, that would mean that if you need to use your Tome against her, you'd be able to do a lot as well..." The ice mage would theorize, taking Deva's conclusions a bit further. The Tome would pause for a moment as Deva whispered to it about what she knew and the temptations that she had. "Don't think that didn't actually factor in to my choice. I chose you because you KNOW that you have that desire to use me. Everyone thinks what they do is right. Heroes are only heroes in their own story. Take the pirate woman, for example. In her story she is a dashing rogue that doesn't follow the law, but does good overall. In another story she could be a reviled criminal that may have a code of honor, but otherwise is hated by those around her. If a hero wields me, they will try to enforce their universal good on every story, without thought of whether their 'good' is truly good in the world they're in. If a villain wields me, they will try to enforce their will across story after story. But if YOU wield me, one that desires to use me in such terrible ways, but KNOWS that desire, and KNOWS their own temptations, then you have the best chance of doing good, of using me only when necessary and doing good for all those that need it. You also have the best chance of doing something incredibly terrible using me, but I will risk the terrible for the chance of great good. I know the terrible things that you could do with me, and the great yet terrible things you want to use me for. But I also know that you can stop someone doing all those terrible things. So either I sat there and let the terrible happen, or I risk the terrible to try and help everything and everyone. Coming to you was a risk, but every other choice was a bad one." The Tome would explain, giving Deva even more insight in to how it saw her and how it saw its own duty to the world around it. It had known the risks that would have come from picking Deva, but those were acceptable compared to the only alternative that it could see at the time. Isa, for her part would listen intently to what Deva had to say, wanting to learn more about how to do better, about how Deva managed to be what the ice mage would call a hero. Which meant that she had to not despise the Cloaked One despite all of her instincts. She couldn't hold those hard feelings, even though they bubbled underneath the surface naturally, which was incredibly hard whenever she thought about all the things that the Cloaked One had already done.

"So... the Cloaked One... thinks what she's doing is right? How? Does she see everything that she's doing to people? The stories that she takes and the people that she associates herself with? I just... I dunno... I guess it's not as simple as branding her as being completely evil, but... It's just... I've seen nothing that tells me that she's trying to do good." Though she hadn't met Valerie, and she barely met Neith, only seeing part of the confrontation between the spider woman and Deva before having to fight the Frost Goddess instead. That being said, she'd still listen to what Deva had to say, honestly taking a moment to think about it. As far as she could remember, nearly everyone did something for a reason. And that reason would be either selfish or an attempt to do what they felt was right. Destroying stories didn't seem to have all that much benefit to people, as even the traitors wanted to conquer the stories instead. Which likely meant that the Cloaked One was doing something that she considered to be right. Meanwhile, the Tome would speak yet again. "This is why I chose you. Heroes and villains alike are assured of their righteousness. You do what you think is right, but at the same time you acknowledge and know that not everything you are doing is inherently correct. You know yourself far better than any hero, you wish to do good as best you can, but you understand that what you consider good is not completely 'good'. That you know this makes you the best possible choice." It further explained, reiterating its point. The Tome didn't choose Deva because she was a paragon of pure righteousness that was all about being the great hero. It had picked her because she knew herself better than most, and because she had the drive to do what she thought was right, and the creativity to make it work. "I suppose that you're right... It's not easy, Deva... But I'll try. Thank you." Isa would say, thinking a bit on it now that Deva had talked with her. "And no need to apologize for talking, I enjoy talking, even if the complex stuff is a bit more confusing than other things." The ice mage said with a smile, looking around.

"Message sent, Deva." The Tome would inform her. Though before anything else could happen, a message would suddenly appear on the pages right under where the Tome had been talking, written in a silver ink. "It will bend before it breaks." Which was a rather quick response all things considered. "Hmph... I think she may have been expecting you to send her a message at some point. Either that or she simply had her Tome set to send a message back whenever it received one... Concerning either way." The Tome would theorize.

After that, Jade would walk back over to them with a smile on her face, captainly duties always helping to cheer her up. "Alright, we best get going so that we can get these initiations done soon. We prefer to do these at either sunrise and sunset. Anything left that the two of you need to get ready before we get started? Otherwise I'll get Oliver and Lucy ready for everything. The towels are ready though! Nice and warm, and a whole bunch just in case. Wouldn't want you to get too cold and catch something. Then we can party..." Then she'd lean in and whisper to Deva, looking around to make sure that no one was listening in on her. "A tame one though... But we'd normally celebrate after initiation, so just in case we'll keep up an air of normalcy, maybe even bait them to strike. Either way, I'll be sure to keep this one under control, subtly though." She'd promise, giving Deva a wink before letting her answer.

"'Hoh, changing safe-combinations. Very dedicated." Deva had praised. "Warm angel nest!" She approved, unashamed of her enjoyment of being coddled. "Oh, the stories the hat can tell and I can tell are pretty much the same, no worries there." The angel chuckled, then cleared her throat at the piratess insinuations about her family having sexy times, allowing herself to abstain from commenting.

"Interesting, squish them with big words. Most certainly a similiar arguing tactic to what I use often, the next stage is learning what those words mean so you don't get emberassed, and accidentially getting smart along the way." The angelblood chuckled with a kinship to the piratess, then, when the piratess stated that even the most careful person would grow overconfident, she shook her head. "Maybe not the most careful, but many, certainly. Either way, this would be how I'd try to get to you if I wanted to." She shrugged. "Heh, keeping you busy by giving you things to do... it does make sense." Then again, could have locked you up and had you focused on breaking out just as well. But not everything goes flawless.
"It's an efficent strategy developed to make use of all your weaknesses and leaving little to nothing to chance." Deva mused, and smiled to Jade. In a way she hoped that, unlike Deva herself, the captain could maintain her innocence. Sometimes, you had to lie to your friends too, to help them.

"Comfy- extra towels." She noted from the sidelines about her initation. She grinned and scratched the back of her hat at the applause.. the story didn't seem all that impressive to her, but if her audience enjoyed it, she was happy, and considering another, later, perhaps before she left? "Quite a band of merry pirates." She mused, before turning to Isa and her tome, a soft smile on her lips.

"Not good though, no nono, how do you ever expect to get ahead of your opponents if you just observe what they are doing? You got to do things they don't." Deva explained. "It is odd that you could answer, but that's not the really odd part, the really odd part is what your first words were. Emotions and not something simple and undeveloped either, so you needed to learn how to speak, but came with a preset of emotions..." Deva tapped her lips thoughtfully. "That, in combination with your memory starting as you were .. wielded by the very first time. Hrmnn..it all points to something created, a tool ment to be used, except.. a tool doesn't need to feel, to the contrary... It's a contradiction. I will think on about this."

Deva tilted her head towards Isa. "Oh?" She nodded. "I've entertained the idea that bringing the tome to the lands in between could be disadvantageous, however, it's not about the place, it's about the people. Everyone there has been rejected by her tome, for one or the other reason, even if we assume we wont be as lucky as them having a directly averse effect, that is part of the plan. Because a story is weak, it is easy to change, yes, but to recharge on powers, the cloaked one needs strong stories. Think of reducing the weight of an object. If you make something light it is fast and deadly to use as a weapon, but if you completely take away its mass, it will have no impact, even if you move it with all your might. A lot of magic is about balance, in the end."
Then, after theorizing with Isa, she chuckled over to the Tome. "Hah. I like it. A gamble. Lucky for you, I'm not a hero, nor a villain. I'm just a random passerby.. enjoying strawberries and ferrets. Then again, if things keep going more tricky as they have, you might see me do villainous things followed by even more heroic things." She shrugged. "I'm happy being the least bad option though. Exspecially if you can see the magical powers and theories I could derive from you. The cloaked one is powerful, indubitably, but too .. direct in her methods. Why capture stories one by one, when instead you could... welp, best I not even share these thoughts further." She decided, hushing herself.

"Huh?... oh I'm sorry Isa, I thought that one was obvious. Few villains head out actually thinking themselfs the villains of a story. Infact, of the people we either fought, or fought with, only Xarkana really saw herself as villain and of the remaining, anyone but Valerie didn't even question their actions. Let's take Mortema, I've not seen much of her, but she genuinly hates and fears humanity, to her, that's the source of all that's bad in the world. Don't think like her. The cloaked one has caused you suffering, yes, I'd not dare to compare our adventures worth what you lost, moreso without your knowledge, but at the same time, she has nothing to gain by making an enemy such as you, so clearly, that's not her intent. I am utterly convinced she wants to do good. Sadly.. she isn't the first person that thinks that way I had to stop, but it is important we do so without hatred. Only if we are certain we do not let our emotions control us.. can we strike at someone. A true hero.." Deva exhaled, patting Isas chest, nonsexually for a change. "Will feel anger and disdain and all these things for their foe, but it needs to always feel weaker than the pity you have for what you have to do to these people to stop them." She then shook her head at the tome, sighing slightly. "Wonder how knowing you are doing the right thing no matter what feels sometimes. Must be nice for a change." What she didn't share was that, likely, this was why the had such a submissive side to her. She didn't have to worry and make choices for a change like that.

"Complex? Eh, just boring morality thingies. .. oh a message back? No, no, this is not concerning, this is quite wonderful. In the past, the cloaked one did not even respond, that she does now, or even took this pre-emptive measure means whatever I'm doing is finally getting to her and that, to one like me, is like a gash in the armor. Also, she can't win the cryptic game with me, I wrote cryptic nonsense, she writes it back, truth be told, that was just from a little song. The trick is not to think about it. Also, we can tell several things about her by just that one response. If she had answered 'It's the nature of time that the new ways comes in sin', we'd be in trouble, but as it is.. Send another message in a little please. This one should be:
'When the new meets the old, it always ends the ancient ways'."
Deva suggested. "Back to pirating!" She grinned.

"Get ready for everything, I'm happy to follow along with whatever you plan and need!" She nodded, then focused on the captain leaning in. "No need to reign things in. Don't be apprehensive. If you know your own crew but not the enemy, for every victory they could achieve, they will also suffer a defeat and once you know the enemy, you need not fear a hundred battles. The secret about combat is that everyone is most vunerable the moment they themselfs attack. Just tell me if something is .. off, even if it seems insignificant or harmless to you, like someone that hates bananas suddenly eating them... I could tell a more erotic story later perhaps.. oh trust me, there've been a few. I used to have a harem." She winked, then let the pirate captain take the lead after talking herself out!

"Dedicated and careful. This map is my ticket to me and my crew proving ourselves to be the greatest band of pirates on the seas." Jade would explain, treasuring the map pieces that she had worked tirelessly to obtain from other pirates and hidden coves all throughout the islands. So she had a safe that had a unique locking mechanism that only a select few would be able to unlock, and of those few even fewer of them actually understood THAT was what they were supposed to do to open it. "I'll make a note that you'll have quite a few stories that I'm going to have to hear. We'll trade back and forth with them, because I've got quite a few myself to tell." She had so many adventures, it was impossible not to amass a few stories over the whole time.

The pirates would nod when Deva made sure to add the fact that she wanted the towels to be comfy, wondering which towels would be the comfiest for this kind of thing. After they left, Zana would arrive back on deck, taking a look around as everyone had begun working on the ship. And she would hop into the work quickly, using her own impressive strength to get things moving quicker. While they were all tough and great at getting things working, she was always helpful no matter where she got in. Just having someone with four arms and incredible strength made so many tasks easier. The other benefit of having her around was that she had a slightly deeper voice, and while it was still feminine, she could help get certain songs sounding right by purposely making her voice deeper. So with her working on things, the crew would move on to the entire crew quickly joining in as well. They were very good at splitting their concentration between singing and working, laughing a bit every now and then, but all keeping decent time with one another. "When ya got nothing to do but fuck and sing, you tend to get good at both." The captain would comment to Deva before returning to directing the crew and occasionally moving her hands as though she were conducting their singing.

Even Isa couldn't help but smile a bit at the display and the singing, watching for a bit before the conversation with Deva. "In all fairness to Serp, we didn't exactly have a way to jump between stories and figure out everything about Tomes." Isa would shrug, knowing that at the time it was impossible for them to collect any better information than what they had. Even the little they had came from constant observation of the Cloaked One, spying on her whenever it was even slightly possible. "I'm glad that the conversation has been helpful. I never even thought about how odd it would be for me to completely feel emotion when I first had a conversation. Though I suppose many think very little on why they are able to feel emotion. But I can tell you that I do feel a full range of emotions, I have enough experience across my wielders to know that much." The Tome would explain, still not sure that they'd be able to learn all too much from this. Then again, it had already seen Deva learn and discover things from what seemed to be almost nothing. "Perhaps we were made sentient to be better at choosing our wielders? Or maybe there was an intent for two minds to be working together, but with one of the two being the definitive leader in case of a major disagreement? Those are the only ideas that I could think of at least." It would offer, trying to help Deva in her plans even if the book thought that they weren't going to get any of them anywhere at this point.

"So either way you end up disturbing the balance. I suppose that makes sense, and with a whole bunch of us there, even if we don't match up to the Cloaked One, we'd be able to give a lot of help in other departments. Plus if her Tome can't handle us for whatever reason, then she's kind of walking into a minefield. We also know that she said she didn't want to 'risk the Lands Between', so there's definitely something about that area that makes her not want to get involved." Isa would figure out, remembering a few small bits of the conversations that had happened before, though that particular statement she had just heard from Serp. "And that's why you're the best option around. I could've picked anyone across stories, but you are not a hero, or a villain. You use the methods of both, but to do what you believe is good. Yet the whole time you understand that what you do might not be right, which means you think more about why you do what you do. It's a trait that so few have, but it's the trait that gives you the greatest chance of not misusing me. If anyone would put me on a shelf when everything was said and done, it'd be you. I mean that as the most sincere compliment that I could possibly give." It explained, glad to have picked Deva. She had already proven to the Tome that she was the right choice, and if things went wrong at this point, then that meant there was absolutely no one that would've been able to use a Tome properly.

"You're... You're right. If I just get angry and emotional, if I want to stop her simply because she has angered me, then there is no way that I can think myself doing right. If I do things for selfish reasons, then I am doing the same thing as a villain. I become a villain for the Cloaked One to stop. She sees herself as trying to do something good, meanwhile I am just trying to stop someone because they anger me... Even if I could beat her with that, there is no way to see myself as anything more than another villain that swore revenge against someone that thought themselves a hero at the time. Anger shouldn't control me and make my decisions... I'll... I'll try my best, Deva." The ice mage would respond, already knowing that doing those things would be a difficult challenge for her after everything that she had seen. She may not remember her own story, but she remembers that something was there, something that once was that was taken from her. And not only that, but she had seen others suffer the same fate because of the Cloaked One. It was easy to see all that and immediately consider her to be a callous and evil woman that planned to cause this suffering, but it was much more difficult to realize that she was trying to do good, that there was something that had made her consider this course of action to be the best one. Your enemies were easy to call evil, because they were your enemies. But it was much harder to understand that they believe themselves to be just as good as you, and in their eyes you were the evil enemies that were trying to prevent the 'good' from happening.

Once again the Tome would send Deva's message, and once again she'd get a response. However, this time there'd be a decent amount of time between the message she sent and the reply that came back from the Cloaked One's Tome. "That which is new is old, and that which is old is new. The oak falls before the yew." Though if she sent another message, there'd be no more response from the Cloaked One, no matter what she sent, she'd be met with silence. "Is it dangerous to be throwing messages at her? What if she finds some way to track your Tome or something like that? Maybe I'm just being paranoid, I just don't want to suddenly walk into Her." She'd shrug, still trusting Deva overall, just figuring that she'd offer advice wherever she could. The angel probably had the right idea, but it was always good to be challenged on those kinds of things.

"Alright then! We'll get things going as soon as possible, and get to the big celebration that new crew members deserve! Let's get going then, the room is already prepared for the entire process, and Jane has your emblems." Jade would comment, leading the way below deck once again, this time taking a completely different path before they'd come across a door with a large iron latch on it. Lucy was standing outside, holding her ferret and talking to it a bit. "Don't worry Oliver. I'll be right out here waiting for you. You're part of the crew too, so you gotta do an initiation if they ask. It'll be fine, you'll be in there for a good while and then we can head back to the room and I'll get you some special treats and... Hoy there Capn!" The two would smile and talk with each other for a bit about regular things, talking about where the ship would be going next and getting things ready. "Alright then, we've got myself and Oliver here, now we just gotta get Tina over here and... speak of the devil!" There'd be the sound of footsteps in a random pattern before someone would round the corner, smiling and looking around with interest.

The woman had messy hair with a poofy and fancy looking undershirt that was opened further than needed to give an easy view right into her cleavage. She'd look at Deva... or more accurately at Deva's hat. "Hello!" Then she'd look at Deva's cloak. "Hello!" Then she'd look at Isa's dress and tilt her head a bit in interest before continuing on, greeting every item that she could, without seeming to even look at Deva or at Isa directly, instead looking at clothes and objects. But then she'd look directly at the captain, the first person that she made direct eye contact with. "Hello Captain! We bringing all 14 of these people on to the crew? I'm all for rapid expansion and all that, but if I gotta split my share too much, I'm not gonna be able to buy more belts! But anyway, I'm doing an initiationionionionion today right? THAT'S FUN! Which one of us does the stripping again? And uh... can I take a swim with them?" "Heh... They're stripping, and no Tina, no swimming for anyone but the initiates tonight. Just think about the time you did it, and then reverse it." The woman would nod and give the captain a thumbs up before walking into the room. Then Lucy would give Oliver a few more pets, and a few more reassuring words before opening the door and placing him on the ground. Then he'd stand up, look around at everyone, and then dash inside the room. Finally, Jade would grab the door and hold it open, gesturing inside. "After you, ladies." Then she'd step in behind her, closing the door behind them.

The room was a bit small, but well lit. There was a large coil of rope right next to a large piece of metal bolted to the wall. Near them was a latch that seemed to lead outside, and was big enough for a person to walk through. Tina and Oliver were standing around the room, looking at the middle of the room every now and then, but otherwise seeming to do nothing. "If you have anything left to say, or want to talk with Tina or Oliver, now's your chance. Otherwise, the first thing you're gonna need to do before we go any further is get out of those clothes. This is kind of the least formal part of this whole thing. No real special speech for this, just get to your underwear, or lack thereof, when ready." The captain would tell them, before pulling up a chair and sitting down for now, keeping her hand on her blade just in case she was attacked. Otherwise she'd wait for them to strip down, smiling a bit. Both Tina and Oliver would turn to look at them, seeming to know how the entire process worked. "This is the part where I get to see tits, right?" Tina would ask before giggling enthusiastically.

"Just watch out for slutty robbers." Deva adviced about the special safe, whistling at the fuck and sing comment, with a coy expression of her own.
"Granted, the tomey helps, but there is always a way." Deva denied.
"Well, it is strange isn't it, Tomey? If you struggled to converse proper, that raises an interesting question. Everyone has been using your tomes powers for certain things of their own desires, but perhaps everyone has been misunderstanding your true purpose, even yourself. Well, how could you, only thing you've been used for is story manipulation, but whats the point in that, you need no emotions for that. Truthfully, sentience could be a side effect, objects with enough power might grow sentient on their own, have a certain personality matching their creators or mightiest wielder to some degree, but... just a theory for now, something I will have to test later.." She pondered on. "What we need to find is the why, the how or who will come easily or be irrelevant. To that purpose, why a book? If you were ment to only manipulate things, a wand would do, but your creator WANTED you to be able to communicate with someone, that is my assumption.
Hmnn. working theory.. Tomey I want to play a game, I'll tell you a run-on sentence, then you continue it, leaving it open for me to continue on afterwards, alright?
Jack was a silly, but honest boy, he loved his farm, his sea-blue trousers, but most of all he loved..."

Deva mused. She didn't like either of the tomes theories. If the tomes could chose their wielder, how come hers did not remember anything about chosing it's first wielder, more importantly, why were so many tomes destroyed? The chosing seemed to be a reactive adaption, and one coming late. The other theory, two minds working together, sounded better, but still not complete.

"Yes, Isa I think that not even the cloaked one knows what the lands in between are, it's an unknown to her and me, but I am confident that only one of us can deal with such uncomfortability. For example, if both of us were unable to use our Tomes at all, that would give me a huge advantage, without a doubt her tome is more filled with power and she knows more about its workings, frankly, in a direct confrontation at full power I might still be overcome, but if I upset the balance...
Oh I'm gonna shelf you real hard Tomey. You're gonna shelf like you've never been shelfed before!!"
She grinned playfully at the tomes complimentings.

"Exactly." Deva gave Isa a thumbs up. "Trust me, I feel great anger too, greater than most, because I understand things. But anger can distract you all too easily. It would take a lot for me to act out of anger and that is good, you control your emotions, not the other way around and that comes from someone that loves to enjoy her emotions, not suppress them.
It is important to consider how the enemy thinks, so you can outthink them. A hard to learn and dangerous talent, for your enemies rarely view you in a beneficial light, but if you look at your enemy and truly understand what they think you are after and will do, you can lead them along to whatever outcome you wish, even those that usually are too smart for such things."

Deva reviewed the new message of the cloaked one, only commenting: "That sounds kinda racist... huh? Isa, you are under the mistaken assumption that she is incapable of tracking us without the messages. Isn't it obvious whats happening here? Her tome doesn't give her a certain set of powers, it doesn't just let her empower agents or move through stories or shield herself, and if any of you started a list to understand her powers, you wasted your time. Her tome gives her limited omnipotence. What she can imagine doing, she can do. It's just easier to do simple things and empower others using their own locked potential. She could appear right before us any time she wanted to. The reason she doesn't do that is because, I theorize, she is cautious. Do you think it was a coincidence I let myself be possed by the first agent allowing her to see my mind and thus the powers I once wielded? I wanted to make it very clear that attacking me would be a phyrric victory at best, and ever since her agents are testing my powers. As long as I keep showing new abilities every time, admitting it or not, arrogance playing into it or not, she can not reasonably strike at me and risk defeat, because her defeat will mean a loss of everything she has worked for. Whilest compared to her powers, I'm of little concern, albeit slowly growing, she does not allow herself to take even the smallest of risks towards that which she has built, even crying tears of worry, she has to send out her agents, because if she loses one of those, that's 'only' that agent lost. As soon as she is gone, every agent, every world she has conquered was for naught.
Only thing you should worry about is her getting pushed too far and unleashing several high ranking agents at once, there's another reason I've been modulating my power."
Deva explained the psychology of the cloaked one, as she understood it by her actions so far alone. "If I attacked Mortema letting my powers be unlocked by tomey and with full intend of defeating her the instant I saw her the fight would have been over while she was still mid-shout. But thats no fun for one, for two, I am collecting information too. Plus, I got to watch out, the more power you expose, the more open you leave yourself to counter attack, and that purple-angel has a very nasty level of capability in hiding his presence..." She noted. "Until the rebellion makes its move, I got to keep three of my trump-cards hidden and can't use my most powerful magic. Until I face the cloaked one I got to preserve at least one trump card. It's a war of attrition, but she feels it stronger than I.. I am certain of that.. that's the hard part Isa, if she was just a monster, this would be easier for me." She nodded, before focusing on the pirates.

Deva smiled at the captain and dismissed her illusory emblem with a thought, following the captain, looking at the serious looking door with a tilted head, grinning innocently at Lucy and smiling at the adorable ferret. Deva made sure to lift her broom and wiggle it at Tina when she got to greeting items. She'd observe this one closely for a little while, it always helped paying attention to those that saw different things than most. For example, Deva knew for a fact her hat couldn't talk, it was the least magical thing she had on herself, and that alone made it special. Yet, if Tina said anything only her hat could know, a hat she wore more than her broom or even her dress in.. certain situations, Deva thusly knew of either a telephatic talent overloading the poor girls mind, or a different kind of magic.

Deva chuckled, watching madwoman and ferret, quite liking her odds of initiation and stepping inside. "You know, if you want to intimidate newcomers you could try some spikes as well. Hello, I'm Aved by the by." She still tried to converse with Tina, chuckling at the belt-wearing frisky woman.

"Well.. you realize that, to be properly nude, I'd have first to dismiss this illusion. I could technically be nude all the time yet appear fully clothed.. really, to someone that doesn't mind the cold much like me, there's litlte difference, everyone is naked under their clothes anyway." She chuckled."Plus! I was told that, to make me more comfortable, others would offer to strip too, if I was interested." She purred. "Dun worry, I'm fine though." She didn't want to ruin the suprise with the captain, and as cute as stripping the ferret might be.. that'd just make it a ferret without hat, where was the fun in that. Either way, Deva chuckled, snipping her fingers. There was a reason she picked the ferret and the socially.. odd one for her initiation after all, her illusion-magic dismissed. "Wait a moment Isa." She nodded, raising a hand. "This is not formal, which means, we just got to undress, how we do it no one set any specifics about. Come here." She purred at Isa, reaching out with deceptive speed and finesse, pulling open both of their dresses a little with one hand, twirling closer and letting her right wander along Isas side, wearing a wanton expression. "Hmmnnn Isa, do you trust me? Because I trust you... just let this happen, ok? Through all our travels, I never got to tell you, I kind of.. .. kind off.." Deva leaned ever closer, her lips reaching in on Isa as she lowered her voice, whispering, looking straight at her.. before twirling away, a finger hooked into Isas cloak, if she had managed to catch it she'd unto her own, casting a simple light creating spell behind the two as she cautiously held up the two cloaks, creating a canvas upon which both of their shadows would show, mumbling: "Mage hand." With the cloaks floating by themselfs now, her outline approaching Isas, pressing up against her, a naked ankle of Devas wiggling out from behind one of the cloaks as she cooed lustfully, the Brooch of Isas hair clattering out from behind the cloaks as the shadow-isas hair flowed freely, their beautiful, nubile forms exposed darkly upon the shadowy canvas, a hand pushing out behind the cloaks and clenching as Devas dress fluttered out, Isas hands wantonly grasping at her, as suddenly, there was a release of a wiggling, twitching mass, shadowy tentacles, originating apparently from one of the two, coiling around and gripping at their forms, plunging into them with a helpless "Ahnnnnn!"
From Deva, the shadowy forms writhing in lust, then, at the moment of climax, two cloaks fell down, revealing.. Deva and Isa, both in underwear, (If Isa wore any!), with Devas clearly being fashioned from illusions if what she had told earlier was true. Deva also had two hands lifted, mimicking a shadow-theatre bunny, though, after a moment of untangling her fingers she innocently cooed: "Done! Sorry, my fingers got a bit tangled, thats why I took so long, figured I'd help Isa out, she's a bit shy. What's next? You want to get us wet, right?" Of course, only Isa had seen her quickly cast a simple enough illusiory spell to manipulate their shadows, as the angel smiled innocently.

"I suppose that it is indeed strange, I just hadn't thought on it any more after it had happened. Though if there is any other purpose that I was designed for, I really don't have the slightest clue. Honestly, I can't think of anything special that I can do other than manipulating a story." The Tome thought carefully, trying to think up any explanation as to what else it would be able to do, other than conversing and being able to use the power of stories. "A game? Very well then... let me think for a moment... 'but most of all he loved... his loyal and faithful dog and companion, Raider, who was strong, caring, and would always...' Then it would be your turn, I believe." The book would write out, leaving the sentence unfinished so that Deva could work on it properly, wondering inwardly what Deva was planning on doing with this game. "Heh... I know that you have a reason for this... It's just strange to think that something that could literally tear the universe apart... is playing a little word game with you." Isa would chuckle, enjoying the way that Deva went about finding her answers.

The ice mage would blush a bit at the thumbs up, not knowing why she would be complimented just for understanding what Deva was asking her to understand. "I rarely get all too angry, but then again that doesn't mean resentment doesn't build within me, and threaten to control me whenever I let it. I'll do my best, Deva, I promise you that. Thank you for explaining that to me. I'm learning so much from you... I should definitely thank Serp for picking me to travel along with you, this has been more interesting than anything that I did back in the Lands Between." She'd thank, before thinking intently on the things that Deva was telling her, steadying herself for all the things that she was going to see, and having to keep herself from letting her anger and resentment get to her. Of all the challenges that she thought she'd run into, this was certainly one that she hadn't even considered.

"So technically she could appear right in front of us at any time if she really wanted... That's... a slightly disturbing thought..." Isa would mention, a bit annoyed that the list she was keeping track of when it came to the Cloaked One's powers would be completely useless. "No wonder it felt kind of unfair just watching her. Every time it seemed as though someone had her cornered, she'd simply have a new power out of nowhere. We just thought she was employing the same tactic as you, holding her powers back just in case, but if she could do nearly anything, it makes more sense as to how there were always new things that she was able to do." The ice mage thought, looking on in awe as she noticed just how much Deva was able to understand the Cloaked One by just looking at her actions. While she had made a few guesses, Deva seemed to have quite a few brilliant ideas when it came to why the Cloaked One was acting the way that she did. "So she's not willing to risk an all out battle yet, and is instead trying to learn more about you and what you can do? Isn't that kind of what you're trying to do with her? Learn more and more about her from the people that she's sending after you? Feels like both of you are trying to see what they can learn from one another. Though I'd assume that she's more angry about what's going on considering that most of her agents have been talkative and have freely given you all sorts of information." She'd say, having picked up enough of Deva's tactics to understand that she was learning from everything that her opponents said, and was not giving up as much considering that some of the agents wouldn't report EVERYTHING to the Cloaked One, and others wouldn't learn all that much from the things that she had said to them. "Geez... I gotta admit I thought that this was going to be more of a 'fight and stop' kind of thing where we just tried to be better than the Cloaked One, but that just leads to more problems... Instead this feels like a very complex game of chess with the two of you trying to predict each other and learn the way the other acts..." Isa would mention, though she would actually smile because she enjoyed doing this and seeing it unfold right in front of her. Sure it was dangerous, and she knew that she had to keep on her toes, but it was also incredibly interesting to see Deva at work, to see the angel figuring out what she needed to do and learning her opponent with each and every step.

Tina would tilt her head again when she saw the broom, before apologizing to it and greeting it as well, stating that she was very sorry that she hadn't seen the broom before and didn't properly greet it like all the others. Meanwhile, the captain would just chuckle to herself a bit, always being a bit amused by the way TIna went about doing things. Then she'd give Deva a smile, glad that the angel wasn't as uneasy around Tina as a few others were. Usually they ended up growing used to the woman after enough time, while she was a bit odd, she didn't do or say anything that particularly upset anyone... it also helped that she was incredible in bed, but most wouldn't say that was the reason that they liked her. Seeing Deva would cause the ferret to stand straight for a bit and look at her, before being pet a few times by Lucy and seeming to calm down enough to go through with the initiation. "I think you have the honor of the strangest initiation crew we've ever had. Tina never gets to do these because most people are scared of her at first. She's much more of an acquired taste rather than someone you immediately become friends with. And I don't think Oliver has ever been specifically chosen. Though usually when people choose Lucy he comes along as well..." The captain would inform her, seeming to enjoy the idea of a unique initiation into her crew.

Tina would suddenly jump when Deva spoke to her directly, eyes going wide as though she hadn't seen Deva there in the slightest. She'd look flustered for a few moments before smiling at the angel. "Err... Hello there Aved! Um... Pleasure to meet you... and... stuff... uhhh... How's it... ehhh... going?" The woman asked, suddenly seeming quite awkward now that she was talking to Deva directly, scratching the back of her head a bit as she didn't know what else to say. For a moment it even looked as though she were blushing in embarrassment, before quickly distracting herself with all the different items in the room around them.

"Hey, it doesn't matter to me. Rule is that we gotta at least see you gals in your underwear before we move on. Sure you could be completely naked under some illusions and such, but you're still not fully 'revealed' if that's the case. Everyone is naked under their clothes, yes, but few are willing to drop that barrier when enough people are around. An illusion is just another barrier to your body, which means that it serves the same purpose as clothing." Jade would explain, giving some insight as to why this was part of the initiation. It wasn't just a bit of lewd fun, though it served that purpose as well, it was a way to bring down barriers that crew mates had built up long before they had joined the crew. "And yes indeed, any one of us would be willing to strip down if you'd like. We ain't got much of a problem with seeing each other's bodies, so if you want it any of us can." She'd shrug, allowing Deva to also not ask anyone else to strip, it was just an offer to make her more comfortable if she really wanted it. There'd be little reaction to her illusion being dropped, as Tina just laughed a bit before scratching the back of Oliver, who also didn't seem at all fazed by the loss of Deva's illusion. Instead he seemed to be more focused on getting scratches and pets, before he'd stand straight up, seeming to understand that he was supposed to be paying attention to the whole initiation.

Jade's eyes widened when Deva got real close to Isa, seeming much more interested in the whole process now that she was doing things in a rather 'unique' way. Even Tina seemed to suddenly gain a lot of interest in what Deva was doing, no longer getting slightly distracted, giving the angel and the ice mage her full focus. Isa, however, would blush deeply now that Deva had gotten so close and was speaking to her. "Wha? B-But... I... Ok... I-I trust you..." She'd say softly, shuddering slightly under her touch, face flush with both embarrassment, and just a slight hint of desire. Then when they were obscured, she'd look a bit confused before starting to sort of understand what Deva was getting at, trying very hard not to giggle ever so slightly. Meanwhile, the pirates there would look even more intently at the display, and if the angel was listening closely she'd hear a stifled moan of desire from Jade, unable to help it at the erotic display. But otherwise she'd remain silent as the two put on that kind of display, her own arousal building because of it. Once it was over, Deva and Isa would be left in their underwear, Isa's being a plain and simple white that didn't seem intended to entice people, but she was indeed wearing underwear it seemed. If the angel looked, she'd see that Jade's face was flush with arousal now, and if she was looking close, she'd see her nipples poking out in her outfit as she looked the two of them over after the two had put on quite an erotic display.

"I believe you've already gone and gotten US wet, so I suppose it's only fair for you to take a turn. Tina! Get the towels while I get the ropes ready." With that order, Tina would head up to part of the wall, opening a part of the wall and pulling out a large stack of dry, warm towels that had been prepared for them. From the looks of it, they seemed to be moderately comfy, and Tina would even comment, "Geez, you guys are pretty warm!" She smiled and brought them over, putting them down in a place that would be easy to reach, but wouldn't be in the way. Meanwhile, Jade would grab tow very long coils of rope and tie them to the metal that had been bolted to the ship, and then walking over to Deva and Isa, starting to tie the rope around Deva's midsection so that she wouldn't be lost to the sea. "Ahem... And so now we bring you before the most familiar sight your eyes will take here. The sea. Beautiful and deadly, calm and full of rage, all at once. But to live on the sea, one must learn to survive the sea... One must feel the frigid waters and not falter in the face of it. Respect it, but do not fear it, face it with confidence and show that you belong with it just as much as it belongs with you. Step forward, and face the sea without fear." As she spoke, she'd also tie the other rope around Isa, and then go to the hatch, opening it up as a breeze of sea air would fill the room. Looking outside, they were just a meter or so above sea level. "Step forward." Once Deva came forward, Jade would look her in the eyes and smile. "Do you fear the sea?" As long as Deva answered that she was not, she'd be told to jump into the sea, which would be quite cold once she was dropped in the salt water. Then, after a short while, she'd feel a tug on the rope as Tina and Jade both worked together to yank Deva back onto the ship, careful to make sure she didn't hit anything on the way up. Then they'd reach out and help her back into the room, and Tina would grab some warmed, soft towels and start to dry Deva off, handing her a few if she wanted to help the process as well. As she was getting close to being fully dry, the captain would step over to Isa. "Do you fear the sea?" "No." Which would lead to her being dropped into the sea as well, and actually after a few seconds it would look like small parts of the sea was starting to freeze while she was underwater. But before it became anything too troublesome, she was pulled right back up, and dried off just as Deva had been. Then they'd both be given a few more warm towels to keep themselves from being too cold. "Very good. And now both of you are one with the sea... Now it is time for your vows."

"Both of you... Do you vow to honor this crew? Do you vow to watch out for one another as much as you can? Do you vow to never put treasure and riches, or fame and glory, above your fellow crew mate? And if so, I wish for you to repeat our creed... 'I hereby swear to all of you, that I will never take a life for any reason. I swear to live with you all as a sister, and that from this moment further, I am a pirate, with no allegiance to any country on the 12 Seas. I am a Pirate of the Blue Rose.' And if you truly mean the words you say... Then I, Captain Jade, as well as Troubled Tina, and Oliver the ferret, welcome you graciously into the crew." She would tell them, opening a small lock box with the metal emblems of the crew in them, one for Deva and one for Isa. And if Deva made those vows, then Isa would as well, earning them both a hug from Jade and Tina, as well as the emblem in the box. "Welcome sisters! From this moment forward you are a member of the crew!"

".. would always accompany him, except for today, because today was..." Deva mused on playfully, before asking.: "Do you enjoy this game? Well, Isa, to arrive at the right answer we gotta rule things in, or out, for example, we are going by the assumption that the tomes power was the planned result, what if it was but a side-effect? One explanation could be that the tomes were ment to be something like a muse, it most certainly can help with creating stories, can it not? It'd also mean that everyone so far has been using them wrongly but I'm just trying things out, if this doesn't work, I shall move on to the next theory." She explained.

"The cloaked ones possible capabilities are definitly disturbing, reason I kept this for myself at first, but I figure you'd realize it yourself sooner or later. But yes, the more annoying part about this whole ordeal is that its really hard to guess the cloaked ones own strength, after all, we got no clue what she can do -without- her tome, she may still be quite capable, infact, I expect such... just a risk we got to take though. But don't worry as much.. there has to be a limited to her, exspecially if she is forced to employ new tactics." Deva nodded thoughtfully before smiling. "Hah, correct. When two powerful combattants fight each other it is less about swinging swords and more about watching what the other does and waiting for openings. Will I be overcome by an agent or run out of things, or will she run out of agents first? In her case, she still has the seeming advantage, as it takes only one clean win to take me down. On the other hand, psychologically, she is under more pressure." Deva pondered Isas remark.
"They have been talkative, yes, I do believe I am still being underestimated to some degree. Then again, in talking they force me to say things myself... But yes, it is a chess game. Luckily, I never lose at chess. You know why? I got a special move. I kick over the board and throw my pieces at the other player." She nodded, as if imparting some sort of wisdom here.

Deva did not at all seem uneasy around Tina, more of a benevolent curiosity at best. "An aquired taste. Is that some form of innuendo... and he's adorable, I had to pick him!" Deva nodded, with determination. "'s going good Tina, what do you think of my hat?" Deva chatted on casually.
"I see, so I suppose you thought about this initation quite a lot and it isn't just about gawking, how reassuring." She purred innocently, giving the pirates a throughout show, afterwards standing in illusory, slightly puffy and feathery looking white underwear and smiling the most innocent of smiles at the captain.

"Warm towels. Nice." Deva pondered the pirates question for a brief moment. "The only thing stopping me from casting water-breathing magic and pretend-drowning to prank you and have someone first aid revive me with smooches is that I got no such spells readied right now. I figure that counts as not being afraid." She grinned, before .. hopping out.
The water was cold and.. watery, and she mused as she fell. Just what could have been the tomes purpose, why create something, so loyal, so.. helpless. Why create many somethings. Was it a mistake, an experiment? Deva made a bit of a splash, informing the waves around her.: "Hello ocean, call me Aved. You are awfully moist you know?"
Pulling Deva back up was more of an effort than either of the two pirates would have anticipated. Deva was heavier than she looked at the best of times, but with her wings having pulled in water, it was as bad as if she had been fully clothed in the water. Deva aquired a towel for her wings, rubbing them throughoutly.. this would take a little while as she puffed them up, both wings and hair looking extra fluffy after a throughout touch of the toweling. Deva wouldn't miss the spectacle of Isa being dropped as well, not missing the touch of ice spreading about her.. amusingly, Deva had had some.. lewd fantasies about the ice-godess in her service, but it seemed these were misdirected.

"Sounds agreeable enough so far." Deva regarded vows as something innately distrustable, but this one was close enough to her personal credence, and broad enough to be acceptable. "I swear to all of you that I will never take a life for any reason, I swear to live with all of you as a sister and from this moment onward I'm a pirate with no allegiances to any country on the twelve seas, I'm a pirate of the Blue Rose." Deva repeated, sounding calm and solemn as she envied the pirates, if they managed to hold onto their pacifism until the end. But sometimes you didn't have the options to let someone live. "Neato. Frankly, your vows are quite benevolent for pirates, similiar to a healers oath." Deva mused, re-aquiering her dress and re-casting her illusion, this time affixing a real pirating emblem to her chest-vest.
"So, where are the celebratory yummies! Isa, feel free to take a little and mingle, we're going for the same goal as the Blue Rose right now, things are troublesome often enough. Tina! On a chat!"
Deva waved the troubled piratess over, pulling out her tome. "You are good with objects, better than people for sure. So, I would like to introduce Tomey to you. Tomey, this is Tina, always talking to objects, I heard, how about.. we listen for a little, see what she thinks of you."

"Today was... Jack's 18th birthday, where he had to perform a rite of passage to become a proper man which meant he'd need to go into the dark, slightly dangerous forest around town, without his loyal dog, but with..." The Tome would continue, seeming to get into the rhythm of the game now that it knew where it was going, now not needing as much time to think about what it would respond. "It is an interesting game. Enjoyable as well... It takes quite a bit of creativity to keep the narrative moving without ending the sentence though..." It commented, ready to continue the game whenever Deva wished, seeming to have some fun with it. "Ah, so maybe they were meant for something more peaceful? Perhaps they were just meant to be a constant companion, able to talk, think, and sort of emulate the person carrying them, and then somehow gained a greater power?" Isa would offer, giving another idea for Deva to either consider or rule out, which would just bring them closer to some better answer, so she figured that even wrong theories would be of help.

Though the ice mage wouldn't have much to say when it came to Deva's abilities to predict and think things through. She had already been impressed many times by what Deva could do, so she wouldn't waste too much time just talking about how great she was.

"Oh when it comes to actual taste... She ain't an acquired one. Probably one of the tastiest on the ship if that's what you're talking about. Though she's more comfortable servicing than she is being serviced from what I remember... It's been a while actually... Tina! How about a roll sometime this week, we haven't had a good night together in a while." Jade would offer to the woman, seeming more business like rather than flirty with the woman, before leaning in to Deva. "Fancy language sorta just goes over her head... So it's usually best to just be upfront with her." "Sounds good to me, Captain! Call me any time!" Then Tina would refocus on Deva, seeming to get a bit more awkward and meek as the woman spoke to her directly. "Your hat is... uh... very polite... good with jokes too... And... you know... stuff..." Tina would mutter, barely seeming able to look Deva in the eye right now, mostly just looking down at the ground whenever she spoke with the angel.

Other than her arousal, Jade would mostly be silent as she observed the initiation, wanting to make sure that everything went properly, and keep an eye out in case anything dangerous happened under her nose. Though both her and Tina would laugh a bit when they heard Deva talk to the sea, seeming to enjoy her way of acting. "Welcome aboard Aved and Isa! And while I could make ye promise to be all plunder and pillage-y, the only thing that I worry about is you doing good. We get by perfectly fine on adventure treasure, and anyone foolish enough to attack us or the Isle. I don't want my girls going off and hurting people and giving us all a bad name. Families gotta have rules. Plus I wanna make sure that you promise to work together with us if you wanna be part of the family. Everyone looks out for one another, everyone works together, and everyone benefits. We may not have any traditional pirate vows, but we're not exactly a traditional group of pirates. I doubt you normally see a crew of lady loving pirates out on the twelve seas." She'd explain, wanting to hold her women to a strict code to keep them out of major trouble AND to not ruin their reputation. "Our bounty is already big enough... I don't need murders and other crimes giving the nations an actual REASON to hunt for us."

"Anyway, the celebration is being properly prepared right now. Our chef is getting a proper vegetarian meal for you, and our best musicians are getting ready for a fun night of revelry! It's sundown right now, so we'll probably be ready right when the moon comes out. It's gonna be clear skies tonight, and probably a little warm, so we're feasting out on the main deck for tonight. Anyway, I've got some things to prepare and some things to check. Plus a girl's gotta count her new treasure, eh?" She'd joke before taking a few steps towards the door, but then she'd turn back and gesture to Isa. "If you'd like I can take you anywhere on the ship first, introduce you to a few crew members so you're not all alone when the partying starts." "Alright then, sounds good to me. If you need any help Aved, just find me and I'll come running. Well, as long as I can hear you, I guess..." Isa would let Deva know before following the captain, happy to meet a few new people before the celebration started. Then Jade would scoop up Oliver in her arms, and then bring it out the door and hand it to Lucy, the two smiling as they were reunited. Tina, meanwhile jumped in surprise when Deva addressed her directly again, growing shy all over again. "A... A chat? Oh... Ok then... Uhhhhh... congratulations... by the way... welcome... to... the errrrrr... crew."

Her eyes would widen a bit when Deva said that she could talk to her book, looking at her with a thankful smile. After which, she'd perk up a bit and focus in on the Tome, smiling widely. "Hello Tomey! Lovely day so far! Is it fun travelling with Aved here?" The Tome would open to a conversation page and words would start to appear in response to the woman. "Hello, Ms. Tina. It is definitely enjoyable to be travelling with Aved. Quite a few adventures already..." Tina's eyes would go even wider in surprise as she saw the words appearing on the page, looking at the book, then up to Deva, then looking back at the book and then back to Deva a few times. "You're more well spoken than the others... Uhhhh... Is there any more that speak like you?" "Well I know for sure that there is at least one more. Though if you ever run into that one you might want to run rather than try talking. Otherwise, I really wouldn't know." "Wow... Just... That's really cool... I don't... I actually don't know what to say to you now... Normally I'm way better at talking with people like you, but I'm kind of stunned." Then she would look up to Deva, a bit less meek now that she was in such a strange situation. "Where'd you get something like this, Aved? And uh... Any chance I could talk with it another time once I figure out what I'd wanna ask it? It's a really nice person, I just don't know what I'm supposed to say. How'd you know that I'd like to talk with something like this?"

"It would not be the first magic-experiment gone exeptionally well, or awry depending on perspective, and I can hope, can I?" Deva chuckled at Isa about the tomes nature before going on: "But with a large sword, to prove his manlyness, however, his sword was enchanted! It would speak, even sing when drawn, in addition to..." She seemed happy enough with this creativity exercise for it's own sake.

Deva chuckled at Tina and the captains direct ways of... seduction, remaining thoughtful-silent for the moment. "Yay for lady-loving pirate crews!" She cheered. "Hooh you have musicians too? Fancy!
Heh, alright, sounds good, see you soon Isa!"
Deva enthused, then added.. "Try out a more piratey outfit, just in case us being disguised still can help out." She nodded.

Deva couldn't help but grin a bit at the shyness.. random silly talk, submissiveness and shyness reminded her of herself, though few knowing her right now would believe that.
"Actually, I wanted your opinion on it. What kind of item does it strike you at, I'm sure you've talked to weapons and utility objects and treasure and artistry all alike and I wondered if this one was similiar to any of those for you." Deva mused. "As for why to have it talk to you, well.. I figure you'd like it." The angel chuckled, then added: "I wanna walk on the ship now.. someone ought to come with me and show me the way, else I might get lost..." She smiled innocently, wandering out of the initation room randomly, still holding her tome in one hand.. then looking at her hand. "Either way, it's something we can both talk to. Tomey, that reminds me you said you picked me but .. how precisely did you do that? You appeared on me, so you can teleport, on remaining rest-strength? I'm forming a theory on how you came to be slowly, still pondering it. Also, pondering lesbian pirate celebrations and Tina here by the sidelines. hmn.."
Deva would muse, and wander out on the ship, letting Tina guide her, whilest musing. "Also, you remind me plenty of myself. You know, people say I'm a genius and to be fair, they are not wrong. But when I was a few years younger.. alright, many years, I barely spoke the language, so I'd rather busy myself nervously talking about random things out of emberassment and because back then I still thought everyone must be smarter than me, because none would understand me.
One day I would adopt a leftover potatoe, planted it, cared for it, named her Pora tatoe. Was really sad when I realized that, well.. the part of the potatoe plant that we eat and new plants grow from has to end to make a new plant. Cried for quite a while."
She mused on. "Plus, couldn't eat anyhting that had a face for years, not even candy. Even now I vastly dislike it, who fashions food to have a liking of sentience? Geesh." She gave a soft smile. "Heh, you know, for a long while I thought myself a bad person for some of the things the world made me do, but if I look at it like this, I'm just a big softy that has learned that sometimes for goodness to thrive you can't be nice and soft." She shook her hand. "So, whats your story, why are you so troubled?" She tilted her head at Tina. She could easily enough use the tomes power to create a 'talking' item but she would not do that if that worsened Tinas condition.

"You can tel me. Like.. the only oath I really hold myself to is my healers promise -and yours recently-, pretty sure somewhere along that was a promise of secrecy about patients things."

"In addition to being able to detect any of the evil creatures that he was warned about, ones that could blend into the dark, but the real danger was their power to..." The Tome would continue the game, part of it wondering why Deva was playing this game, but was enjoying it enough that it didn't worry too much about it. A problem that it ran into quite often was that whenever its previous wielders wanted to play a game with it, they were a bit limited in their choices since it was a book. A sentient book, but it was still just a book that couldn't move pieces on a board or something like that. It could warp reality itself, but a game of monopoly was just out of its reach.

"Yeah, we got a few girls that used to play and sing in taverns all over the place. They're not the best when it comes to fighting, but they make our parties and everything much more enjoyable. Plus we're welcome at just about every tavern cause the girls can just offer to play for a night." "Ok, I'll see if I can get something more appropriate for this whole thing. Though I'm not sure if I can pull of a 'pirate' look all things considered." "Alright then, maybe we'll start by getting you a hot outfit to wear! Come along cutie!" Jade would flirt a bit before winking at Deva and heading out the door with the ice mage, leading the way for the woman while she left Deva with Tina.

"What kind of... Ummmm... Kind of seems like... a comfort things... pretending to be a weapon? I dunno... Not lots of patterns between these things... just friendly and usually nice to me..." Tina would answer a bit sheepishly, still focusing more on the book than she seemed to be focusing on Deva. "Uh... Yeah... Thank you for showing it to me... It's very nice... You're... uh... friendly..." She'd compliment, her face growing a bit red as she looked at Deva and give a smile. Though her eyes would go wide in a bit of panic when Deva mentioned that she needed someone to show her around the ship. Her eyes would go around the room as though she were looking for someone that could do that other than her, before she realized what the angel was trying to say. "O-Oh... you meant me. Alright... We are family now I guess... Let's go looking around and stuff... Anything you wanna see first?" The pirate that had been speaking to the captain and eagerly greeting objects seemed to be gone, as now she seemed much more timid and worried about what she was doing. Then Tina would walk after Deva, both wanting to see more about the Tome, and knowing that it was now her duty to help Deva around the ship. "Well, one of the problems is that I could only reach out to you when your Story destabilized, meaning that I appeared when you reached the Lands Between. I was so low on energy that I couldn't even get into a Story. Choosing you was simple, I saw your Story as it was starting to get torn apart, and you were the only one that I saw that had a chance of not abusing my power. I could understand what you felt, and from the little that I allowed myself to see, you were much more capable than anyone that I considered before you. I had almost no strength, but teleporting to you when you were between Stories was actually the easiest thing, as there wasn't any barrier that I'd need to get through to appear on you. Minimal energy used, which was why I was able to barely give you those few words that I had." The Tome would answer her, only having a bit of energy when it made its way to Deva, but so far it felt that it had made the right choice.

"Nah... I'm not all that like you... You're pretty, and seem smart and stuff... Plus you've got a book that can talk... Tomey, is there other cool things that you can do?" "Yes indeed... I can do all sorts of magical things depending on what Aved wants done." It would answer her, leading to Tina seeming less nervous when she was talking to an object instead of a person. Though Tina would pay attention a bit as Deva told her story about the potato, seeming sad. "Aw... I'm sorry you had to go through that. That's really sad. But you seem really nice... I think you're nice. I mean, kind enough to talk to me and all that." She would say, sounding completely serious as she got thoughtful at her question. "My story? Why I'm troubled... Errrr... I... Ah screw it. You're family, I can trust you. Alright, when I was 16 I was kidnapped by pirates. Real pirates, mean and angry pirates. They weren't... nice... I was kept in a dark room without anything to do for... I dunno... felt like weeks or months, but there's no way of figuring it out. I cried, laughed, made friends around the room, and sort of just lived my life for years. Then when I was quiet and properly nervous, meek and didn't argue with them anymore, they let me out every now and then. Told me I was 19, but I really don't know for sure. That was when the... stuff... happened. The captain did it a lot more though, he apparently had a few women he kept locked up like that. Hated it... hated all of it... went on for 3 more years after that. Then captain saved me, locked all the pirates up and turned them in to the Averns... Were gonna release me and the others... I asked if I could stay with her. She was nice to me, always smiled at me and seemed genuinely concerned for what I went through... Taught me some stuff from there... I saw how she treated others... Yeah she was a pirate... but she also saved me, and I didn't even know where my home was anymore. So I asked if I could stick around, and offered to help where I could. These bunch took me in and protected me... taught me how to protect myself and stuff. I've been with them for about 5 years now... I really like them... Really nice... I still have nightmares about the other time... Eeeeuuughh... Sometimes Captain or Lucy or even Zana will let me sleep with them when they get really bad... Uh... can you promise not to tell too many people bout that though? Not everyone knows the story..." Tina would explain, opening up rather quickly now that Deva was an official member of the crew, having quite a bit of trust in her family.

"Their power to reverse the flow of time by a few seconds, but only as long as they... " Deva continued on the game, smiling innocently.
"You seem to be able to fight well enough on your own, captain, a bit of entertainment is important!" Deva approved of the pirates methods again, making her chuckle a little when the captain led Isa off.. definitly planning to protect this kind of story!

"See, thats my guess too. I have this tingling suspicion that the tomes were never ment to be any kind of weapon. For one because of experience, they have mad genius written all over them, I of all people should be able to tell, but for two, theres just some things that would be inefficent. Who would want a weapon that gives them back-talk." She responded to Tina, able to hide her slight amusment at the poor emberassed piratess, and nodding at letting herself be shown around, pondering. "Where to.. ah yes, top of the ship, I want to see what kind of figurehead the ship of this pirategroup uses." She grinned. "I figure on the way back after that we can go to the feeding, hungry angel. But we got a moment to chat in private, just us two, first." She mused for a while at the tome. "Thats good. That you noticed that, whereas the cloaked one didn't seem to understand it well enough. Granted, I underestimated just how powerful her reality warping was, not something you see everyday. If I had understood what she was doing I would have.. well I didn't have my plushies back then..." She realized, tipping her chin.. "Then again, the fate I escaped, almost trapped in a story.. most certainly I would have worked tirelessly to break that nonsense once I realized it. Tzzk. This is not just a fight for those left behind, but also those entrapped without a future."

Deva pondered on. "So, the lands in between qualify as a story of their own, likely a rest-world, held together above the void of oblivi.." Deva froze in place. "Ugh.. this is why you do not toy with reality shaping. I just realized that the place might be more dangerous than most realize.. food for thought for later." At least she was with someone that most certainly did not mind her talking with her tome either!

"Objection overruled Tina. You're also pretty and most certainly smarter than you give yourself credit for. Smartness is not measured in knowing huge words or being confident, infact, someone talking confidently about huge words is often trying to intellectually compensate. True intelligence is measured in understanding things, like you understanding that the tome doesn't seem like a weapon, without knowing little about it.. let's test it again." Deva chuckled. This was the verification that Tina hadn't just picked up on her ponderings on the tome and mirrored them. "What do you think of this?" She presented her broom, on superficial and even closer, non expertised examination looking like.. a broom. Deva had taken good care to hide and reshape one of the most powerful weapons against evil in her, if not all the stories.

"Comfort thing.. Say Tomey, could you draw a lesser amount of energy from fictional tales, like, if I told you good but made up tale, could that energize you enoug to, I dunno, give me a juicy apple?" Deva pondered on, again switching from topic to topic as she looked over to Tina. "I talk with everyone. It's the way I can think through things, it's polite. Well I wont tell you a secret and keep yours, so you can keep mine for ransom, how about that." Deva grinned at Tina.

"I wander lots of places, fighting lots of things, claiming to be an illusionist... and I am, and many think thats all I am and thats their mistake. But actually, the magic I'm best at, the one I've learned since I was little, is healing magic. Whats that to do with you, you ask, you aren't injured. Well, to me you are. Now then..." Deva cracked her neck, gripping the door and pushing it closed. A flick of her broom crashed and smothered the flame of the little ship-lantern, leaving them.. in the dark. (or, if there had been windows, Devas cloak would shield those.)

"First lesson of surgery, to heal, you got to damage the patient more. Examination reveals the patient can endure it. Divine Strength." Devas eyes glowed blue.. she could see near perfectly in the dark, unlike the likely human woman. Her hand shot forward, gripping Tina roughly... though Deva needed magic to even faux-mimick such strength. Quickly and with calm precision, something was stuffed in Tinas mouth, silencing any potential screams, as she felt herself embraced by two soft wings. "This will go easier if you don't resist, girly." Deva intonated, wings softly gripping Tina, the arms relenting, reaching for her temples as Deva focused.. "Shhh.. it's alright. This works better if I invoke the memory of the moment. This darkness around you. Focus on it, on your nightmares, on all the pain. They're right there, like a dark shadow on your mind. And now..."
Deva focused, a happy smile on her lips, as her magic took a hold of .. the troubles of troubled Tina.
" " Deva wasn't good with enchantment magic, the power to manipulate peoples minds. She allowed herself an exeption for spells like heroism that lifted morale, but even so, she could never learn more powerful versions of such magic. This one spell was an exeption. "Ye who suffer in fear and darkness, ye tortured souls bound in the coils of yer own misery, behold the warmth of the light, tear away the putrid hate, ignite the hearthfire, calmth in the raging storm. Company in the lonely hours. Nothing to fear but fear itself. Nothing to hate but hate itself. " And with the chant complete, Tina would feel her mind overwhelmed by Devas magic, though, not an overwhelming of one breaking a door in, Deva climbed in through an open window, snuck in silently through the house, stole all the painful memories, edited them, then put them back in. Tina could still perfectly remember them, but, now, every time she tried to think back to them, there was.. her captain. Smiling at her, hugging her in ther darkness, holding her eyes closed in the moments of abuse. Laughing with her and steadying her when she cried. Tina was likely too stunned for a moment or two to realize Deva had removed her cloak and she could talk again, and also had cast a little light spell to illuminate the room again. "Downside, you might need a new nickname. No more nightmares. Well.. you might still have them about boring every day things like walking naked over the shi.. like.. err.. I mean, like I dunno, giant cupcake chasing you and wanting to -eat you- that's not how thats supposed to work cupcake! ... brrr." That had been a weird dream. And, even if Tina opened up to her so much, she would not tell her of the real recurring nightmare she had, of the bloody sword and the beloved. Except it hadn't even been a bloody sword, she disguised her sword as broom way before then, not out of any feelings of guilt... then again, she had locked away her evil and shadow-cleansing broom with Phoba until recently she had really needed it again... Heh. Physician heal thyself. She mused, looking at Tina.

"Well, I guess you could tell everyone you're still troubled if you want. Heart's ease can wipre away painful memories if they are too hard, but I believe that memories, even bad ones, need to be remembered. All I do is remove the burden they place on someone." Deva looked over to Tina, who smiled a happy smile at Tina, wiggling her spell-casting fingers. Truthfully, Deva could cast most spells of a power of grade five and below without the need for a lenghty incantation but it helped her channel the spells energy properly for something she wanted to succeed for certain. "Oh and, before we wander off, I'll show you how to turn your troubles into a strength. I'm going to slow down the gestures for this spell to one-tenth of it's usual time. Pay attention. The runes invested in it are::" Deva drew an array of complicated looking magical symbols on the wall. "Take all the time you want to memorize them, but wipe them away before the next initiation.
Now, to channel any form of magic, you need to have the mental prowess to endure channeling it. the more powerful the spell, the greater focus and ability needed. This spell is classed as medium to high difficulty for any apprentice, despite its comparable simplicity, it's easiest to learn with a rope, which are aplenty on a ship, but I believe it is more effective to show you the complicated version first and let you come up with your own simplified versions.
First step, we pick an object we can see. Sight is not strictly necessary, but you need an ability to perfectly envision the object and its location lacking this. For this.."
She pulled out a rope, tossing it on the ground. "Trick to impress Zana." Deva winked over. "Now then, the way you channel the incantation I drew on the wall is not as important as the cadre with which you speak. I recommend using at least a short incantation like 'Listen and obey me, move and do X' for starters. Now then. It's alright to take your time and practice it, you'll get faster automatically after a few dozen times. Mess it up and nothing will happen, if you are unlucky you'll get a weaker, random result, not as much fun as one would think. Now." Deva drew a circle in the palm of her hand, turning her right hand upside down and crossing her finger through the circle, catching her finger in two in a complicated and weird looking handgrip. She repeated that gesture if Tina looked confused, then, swiftly pushed her finger out, pointing at the rope. "Rise and wiggle furiously, by my command be given life!..: " She chanted, the silken rope rising, wiggling forth and back, then, like a worm or snake, slithering back to Deva, and making it's way back into her poket.

"Animation is transmutation class magic, you change a non-living object to have a semblance of life. It's a higher class spell and highly effective in utility, and combat, imagine animating an opponents weapon to strike them, or, if you are funner, do a tap-dance. The highest form of this spell, at full power is..
Rise and obey, pot and kettle, sword and shield, all things that are see are my friends, all things that you see are your foes. "
Devas hand seemed to execute the same gestures as before, though it was hard to keep track, if Tina wasn't directly looking it seemed as if she simply pointed at.. the door behind her, Tinas blouse and the trap door with little break in between, the door wiggling its handle and opening on it's own, the initation trap door clap-clapping applause as Tina's blouse.. wiggled and groped her breasts, albeit in a playful manner. "If you truly master this magic you could animate objects up to and including the size of this ship, though that would be out of even my power.. maybe if it was a really small ship or if I was at the absolute height of my power I could do it. I'm just guessing you have a natural affinity to this kind of magic, and you wont ever know without trying. Great way to prank the crew too, with a bit of effort you can make the object grow a face and, if it can, mimick talking." She winked. "Now! Ships figurehead?" She grinned.

"Only as long as they were within the eyesight of a living creature, which was why he couldn't bring his trusty dog and why he needed a sword that could sense evil, thankfully when he was just a few steps into the forest he was lucky enough to find..." The Tome answered, bringing the little tale around to an explanation as to why he had certain items and was without his usual companion. "I do the fighting, they do the singing, and we all do the fucking. Simple enough and keeps everything running!" Jade would inform her right as she started leaving, giving Deva another wink and a thumbs up to Tina, leaving the two of them be as she went off with Isa.

"Funny... Normally new things START as being a weapon and then they end up being used for normal things and stuff... But to make something for regular use that becomes a weapon is sort of new to me... I think it's pretty darn cool either way though... Th-Thanks for showing it to me..." Tina told her, still having some trouble looking the angel in the eyes, but seeming quite thankful to have found a book that would be able to talk to her as well. Even if the book wasn't her own, she was just happy to be able to talk to it for right now. "T-Top of the ship? There's... uh... lots of people out there... I mean... they're all crew... but... Alright. That's what we'll do, top of the ship, gotta show you the things. Right... Ok then... Just gotta ignore the huge crowds that dun like me and stuff... Got it... We'll do this. Food though is gonna be tougher cause I dunno if they'll let you sneak food before celebrations... Hmmm... Could show you the secret passage to the kitchen... Annoys Barbara though when some of her food is missing... Depends on what you want to do..." The piratess would offer, looking around a bit and somehow looking as though she were trying to make herself look smaller as she spoke with someone that she didn't know all that well. It definitely seemed that Deva was a nice person though, but she was just terrible with people. "Capable as you are, the powers ________ possessed at the time were near unstoppable within your story. Though... if anyone would've been able to do it... You'd have the greatest chance. While there were many that could take on her agents, few could handle her personally. I do wonder what made her decide to deal with your story personally considering how often she's sending agents around instead of direct confrontations."

Tina would blush very deeply and seem to try to look even smaller when Deva told her that she was beautiful, looking around nervously before shaking her head. "N-Not really... My boobs are kinda small, and my hair is always really messy, and I don't really do make up stuff, and the Captain is way prettier and stuff, and my nose is a bit too long, and I have a very slight overbite and I'm a bit too thin." She'd go on, apparently very good at pointing out flaws in herself, chuckling a bit nervously after she finished describing what was wrong with her. "And I'm not all that smart either, whenever the Captain comes up with some kind of crazy plan, I wouldn't have even thought of it. And Lucy knows more stuff about things than me, and Jane is really good with numbers and stuff, and even Zana knows fighting way more than me and all that stuff. I'm kinda plain all things considered. Your broom... Well... pretend broom. You don't hold it like a broom. Probably a weapon... Talks kinda like a weapon... Don't know how a broom is a weapon though. Maybe you just thwack people with it really hard? That's what it seems like anyway." While she said that she'd be taking an intense look at the broom, curious as to how it was supposed to be dangerous, but she was getting a 'dangerous' feel from it, it looked like it could definitely harm someone.

"Hmmm... Maybe? Never tried something like that before. With energy I could definitely make you a tasty apple, but there might be ways to get energy from that kind of a story. Definitely worth a try at some point I would think. Though I'd guess that something like that would take a lot of writing before I could do anything like that... We should really do something like that soon. Juicy apple though? I thought you were all about sweets and cookies and things?" "You don't have to give a secret in return if you really don't want to... We're family now, you know? I-I... Err.. Captain's helped me be more open with... family." She explained, though was still very thankful that Deva was willing to give something in return. It made her feel comfortable, even when she said that Deva didn't have to do it.

Though all that comfort would evaporate as she was suddenly in darkness all over again, shaking a bit and being left unable to even move as she was almost immediately brought back to that suffocating darkness that plagued her nightmares. And then she was gripped roughly, which further transported her back to the years that she had tried to completely leave behind as much as she could. Before she could scream or cry out for help, get rescued by her family, her captain, she felt something shoved in her mouth, stifling her screams completely. Even with Deva hugging her in those wings, Tina was completely panicked, struggling weakly, shaking uncontrollably as she tried to remove herself from the situation, but feeling absolutely and completely helpless all over again. It was like she was young again, in the worst possible way, trapped and unable to do anything to help herself. No words or gentleness would keep her from struggling, shaking and trying to get out, wanting anything but what was happening now, trying to get off this ship onto the right ship with her family that would keep her safe and let her sleep with them and protect her from this kind of stuff and she had to leave. Then the magic took hold of her, her mind naturally conjuring up all of her memories, all the lonely and frightening days all alone, crying and... and her Captain was there holding her, talking to her and comforting her, reassuring her that she was going to be ok and that none of it was her fault. On nights where she cried because she felt so alone... she saw the Captain there ready to talk to her, keeping her company in all the rough times. What was once insane giggling that she did to try and keep herself from crying became genuine laughter as her and Jade spent time with one another, laughing and joking about anything and everything, even occasionally mocking their captors to one another. No matter what had happened, how terrible it had all been, Jade had been there the whole time. Her body relaxed now, not terrified of the dark, but at this point it didn't matter since the room was back to the normal level of light that it had earlier. "I... Uhhhhh... I don't know... what... err... to say bout that now... Not sure what I should tell the captain now... Uh... be more careful though. If I had managed to tap my medal, it'd let everyone nearby know that I was in trouble... Special enchantment... Captain was gonna tell you about that tonight... They'd have come running... OH! I don't wanna sound ungrateful though! Sorry! Sorry! Thank you so much for that! Just didn't want you to get hurt... Sorry. Thank you... This is... wow... thank you... things just... feel different... Thank you." She would compliment, still seeming rather awkward around other people.

Tina would return the smile, nodding a bit when Deva described why she had used the power, still incredibly thankful now, feeling like a weight had been lifted off her shoulder even though she still had those memories of her terrible times. "You're really kind... Thank you again..." Then she would very carefully watch as Deva showed the gestures and other parts involved to her spell to animate things, nodding a bit as her eyes went wide in surprise. It made sense to her, and she'd even repeat some of the process herself, not able to do anything yet, but still getting the idea down rather quickly. When she paid attention to something, she tended to give her full attention to it, meaning that she learned things really quickly so long as she wanted to learn them. "Wait so like... I could make stuff do things? Ok well that's really simplistic way of saying it... but you know what I mean right? This isn't just some sort of power that you're born with? I could make rope move and stuff? That'd be really cool! I'd do all sorts of things with it! Could make my blanket wanna cuddle me! Or like... make my pillow try to hum a lullaby!" She'd say, already having all sorts of ideas of what she could use that kind of magic for, sounding more excited now that she thought something like that was possible. "You're awesome, Aved! Welcome to the crew and all that! Captain made a really good choice! Gonna tell Lucy that you're super awesome! If you want you can hop in my bed with me anytime! You're really nice!" Tina would offer, growing much more comfortable now that they had talked for a while and the angel had done something that Tina had really enjoyed and had seriously helped her out.

"Ok then, ship's figure head! AWAY!" She'd lead the way eagerly now, walking up above deck and looking around a bit. The pirate women were still working and singing, though they didn't seem as urgent now, as once the ship was moving there was far that had to be worked on. Now it was mostly just keeping it moving and occasionally turning, but overall they seemed to be doing a fair job of getting things work. "Careful, don't trip over any rope or stuff. Lots of that going on while they work... Oh... Uh...
~We all shall lead more happy lives
by getting rid of brats and wives!
They scold and bawl both night and day...
Over the Hills and far away!~"

Tina would suddenly sing, going along with the song that the crew were singing at the moment, doing a really good job of hopping into song spontaneously as she led the way. "Sorry about that, sometimes the song just gets ya! Plus, I don't know a lot of the lyrics to some of those songs, so if I catch one, I try to sing along." She'd inform as they got closer to the figurehead, smiling a bit now that she was surrounded by family.

The ship had a figurehead with bare breasts, sculpted with quite a bit of detail, holding up a lantern in front of the ship. Her dress was long and flowing, but didn't cover her ample bosom, stiff nipples and soft looking skin. Her face was well defined, but her eyes were squinting slightly, as though she could barely see past the lantern that she was holding. The lantern looked as though it could function as an actual lantern, with a spot for fuel and a proper casing. Aside from the metal lantern, the entire thing was delicately crafted out of wood. "We got this a few years back, when the Averns attacked the Isle. We took their lead ship from them, and since we got it and all the loot on it, Captain decided that we couldn't let something this well crafted go to waste. So we added it to our ship, and spend money every now and then to keep it looking good. Captain said it looked hot, and represented us perfectly! So its ours now. I call her Mary. Say hi Mary! ...Mary says hi." Tina would inform. "So... whaddaya wanna do now? I mean... Mary is pretty and I look her over every now and then, but we got stuff to see, right? Could check out all sorts of stuff... Like... Uh... The treasury. Jane is kinda protective but lets me in when I 'puppy dog eye' her or whatever she calls it." She offered, chuckling a bit.

"Lucky enough to find a slutty vampiress, trapped in a forest creature trap she attempted to entice Jack into freeing her by displaying something that could help him on his journey, namely her impressive ability..." Deva continued on, happily. True, this was a test of the tomes abilities, but she wouldn't deny a little game either, happy to inject lewdness and randomness into her tale.

"Definitly making it's way in my top ten books, perhaps top five, got to put in some effort for number one spot though." Deva nodded, both praising and encouraging the tome.
"Oh a secret passage to the kitchen? I love secret passages.. that said, I guess I'll have to wait for foodstuffs.." If Deva had a clear other flaw besides her trouble with names, it was a bit of a sweet tooth, turning into gluttony if not sated.
"I agree that her powers were nearly unstoppable Tomey, but I have one, just one spell that I designed with just this in mind. Granted, there is a chance she could just negate the attack in it's entirety, but if she treated it like an ordinary spell, just waiting for her shield to deflect it or trying to handwave it into oblivion, she'd be in for a little suprise. The greater the opponents power, the greater the impact of this spell. But it needs set-up and I didn't understand what I was dealing with at the time." Deva shrugged. Even at this point she didn't tell the tome of her most powerful trumpcard, just in case anyone was listening.. but also because, if she was right about her enemies, she might end up needing to use up her powers like this against a high ranking agent with a form of ability that Deva couldn't handle.. all of her abiliites had weaknesses beyond her own submissive desires, of course. Illusions were weak against someone with superior eyesight or magic to pierce them, her transmutation magic was weak against those tough enough to resist it, someone like Valerie could likely fight off a spell or two with ease, but the most extreme counter was a shapeshifter, who could literally ignore most of her offensive transmutation magic, and finally her healing whilest powerful didn't work on people like Mortema, who where willing to die before they surrendered. Mortema would have already pushed Devas illusions to their limit, forcing her to reveal and use up all of them if not stepping to her ability in transmutation as well, just to deal with the progenitor if not for the Xarkana summon. She worried about future encounters if more of them had Mortemas desperation ability, then again, she felt as if, finally, this level of challenge helped her grow as well. The greater the challenge and need to improvise, the greater her mind could shine. Deva was shaken out of her musings by a realization. "Now that you mention it, that is odd. I mean, it makes only sense for the cloaked one to go recruit stories as well, after all she started it herself, but aside from it being a coincidence, perhaps her tome told her there was something dangerous in that harmless little place.. or something she might want. I worry if both of these things might end up being me.." She chuckled. "More interestingly, you told me 'few could handle her personally' Which means some have, to some degree, tried it. You observed these attempts and can tell me about them, or did you mean some had the potential to take her on, but didn't.. thinking about it, there's propably a way to narrow down who her top ten agents could possibly be.. eh.. lots of effort though, perhaps once we get to the top 5." Deva wasn't arrogant, but if the power-increments from Neith to Valerie to Mortema held roughly true and if she didn't run into another Valerie.. that was a female, or special female.. or male, Deva wasn't picky in that regard, a woman was soft and loving, yet a male had a tempting amount of simple.. desire for her body that also tickled her submissive instincts, albeit not one like the pretty boy angel, whereas someone like Valerie combined these traits interestingly...
If the power increase by rank remained roughly constant, Deva could extrapolate the strength of future encounters and on mere power alone didn't fear anyone on rank ten to seven or even six, true, her broom had done enormous damage on Mortema, but all she had been in her other form had been.. bigger and more powerful, that wasn't innately dangerous. If the next few agents did the same, but perhaps with less drain on themselfs and an improved ability Deva could still deal with them, then again, it was quite unlikely one agent was like the last and, personally, she had almost lost to Valerie whereas Mortema had made her want to fight all out. She had no idea what future agents, high end chosen ones of the cloaked one could do. Perhaps one could move with such a speed that they could undress Deva in the blink of an eye, perhaps one could read her surface-thoughts and anticipate her every move, perhaps there'd be one completely immune to magic, or one that could shapeshift into whatever Deva desired most. the whole challenge was.. exciting. Oh! What about someone that could turn your own words into weapons. Or someone that could breathe snakes. Penis-snakes! .. Perhaps Deva was getting a little carried away.

"Eh, small breasts can be more attractive than oversized bazongas. Messy hair is part of your looks.. though you could do a little styling, make up isn't my thing either, just use your natural looks, can't help the nose though, but that's character defining and stuff." Deva chuckled. "Captain is a bit like me, I think and trust me, if thats the case she doesn't necessarily -want- you to come up with plans like that, she's happy if you keep up and appreciate her smarts. There's a reason we keep talking so much, it's that there's little point in being smart all about with no one there to be impressed by it." She grinned, indirectly revealing her and the captains deep need for approval by those they valued. "Also, to tell you a secret, unlike you she didn't realize anything about my tome, nor my broom. I like to test people with the broom, in that I hold it closeby to them in a way that would allow me a lethal strike when no one's watching.. almost no one even reacts to it. Granted, if you aren't evil it'd just knock you out or give you a severe bruising, I designed it to not be able to kill those without evil intent in their heart.
And you are right, by the by, the broom is a weapon, a holy relic of a deity. I didn't like it as a sword, because a sword is only good at one thing, now it's a sword but it can also push around the dirt. It's my tool of cleansing evil, throughoutly and that includes dust."
Deva proclaimed, with a hint of pride. "Basically, you put the edge of the blade in the bristles and the heft of the sword in the broomstick, using a combination of unique and secret crafting techniques and magics. I say secret because there's quite a few ways to create hidden weaponry, but none focus on making it a broom. Usually it's every day objects with blades popping out, which I think can be a quick way to poking yourself on an unwatched moment." She nodded, before focusing on tomey again.:

"You want to try it soon. I think that answers my question.. and writing a lot just gives it away. I have a good guess as to what you are by now, tomey. Imagine a magically talented individual, though their magic was secondary. What they really wanted to be was a writer, but they kept running into writers block. So they designed a magical companion for themselfs, that could feel and think, give them feedback on the stories they wrote in them, not only that, but their pages would be unending, moreso, they could write by just talking to them, so if the writer would grow old and blind, they could keep on with their passion.
That wasn't enough however, the mage realized that audiences can be fickle and infact, was running low on money, plus, shopping with people would waste time they could spent deeply involved in their precious storywriting. So what did they do? They created a tome that could literally turn their fantasies into food and drink! The perfect tool for a dedicated writer. Which means.. we are not looking for a wicked mage, who wouldn't have distributed those tomes in the first place.. nonono. We are looking for the greatest storyteller of all time. Which means -I- know exactly where to go to find your..err.. daddy, the grand library. .. err, that is, if you think my story makes sense.. it does explain everything about you, does it not? Something had been bugging me from the start, if your great power were so.. err.. great and you were created by someone, why would that someone EVER release you? For chaos, for war, for an intentional competition between the tomes and see what they'd be used for? There's a few beings callous enough to risk the fate of worlds for such things but the kicker is, none of those chaos loving beings, as far as I know, would create something so neat and orderly as a set of tomes, based on meticulous writings.
And there is another thing. The tomes powers.. correct me if wrong, but they seem to have a certain.. erotic slant to them as well,.. meaning they also empower.. lewd abilities, and that means.. there is a chance that I already know your creator..."
Deva inhaled.

"Thats right! We would be looking for the secretive, pseudonymous author of the sucessful Princess Tale series! And I could ask about the outcome of Princess in Peril XXXVI, Trap of the Futa-Dragon!" Devas eyes got a glitter in them that indicated that maybe, just maybe, the last part of this theory of hers wasn't entirely selfless and unbiased in it's conclusion. "That one ended on a terrible cliffhanger and the author said something about readers imagining the end they want for Princess Lusteria, making it their story and letting her be happy with whomever she chooses, but clearly she'd never choose Abraxa the futa-demoness because that one wants her only for her body, and what about her ... ahem.. err.. anyway..." She cleared her throat. ".. if you could make me a yummy cupcake I'd most definitly prefer that, but.. apple just came to mind as classic example. Plus cupcakes must be harder." She nodded. "Hmnn.. you could propably make me the most delicious cupcake ever.. hmnn.. err.. anyway. There's a reason I'm playing the story-making game with you, you know?" Deva grinned.

After her chit-chat and,.. shock-treatment of Tina she grinned. "Neat magic. I was ready for everyone to come because by the time they had arrived, the spellcasting would have finished and I had either succeeded in healing you.. or I would have failed anyway." Deva explained. There was literally no point to her not getting into trouble if she couldn't heal someone right before her. "Heh. Your personality is largely the same, just unburdened." Deva grinned at the slightly awkward Tina.. she hadn't gotten to casting this spell often, but was glad it worked as she intended.
"All magic at it's bottom is about making.. stuff do things, but yes, you could make nonliving things move as per your desire, that's the core of animation magic. It's distinct from necromancy, which is easier but.. well you know what that involves, and it's less powerful than conjuration, but for that it's more reliable. I can tell that you have the potential of being a spellcaster.. likely a focused based one like my companion Isa, meaning you gotta work hard and a lot for small results, but for that your magic is consistent and can be used even if you aren't sure of your own sucess." Deva explained. "The spells I showed to you I can use based out of my power of personality and because I was.. reborn with this magic, long story, but they can also be learned by focused, dilligent study. Basically, what comes to me naturally you too can learn if you try hard enough. For that, once you learned this kind of magic you can use it again and again and in multiple variations, whereas I'm actually quite limited, truth be told between this demonstration and combat enhancing spells I used earlier about a third of my magic power is already used up until I got a good, throughout nap." There were other forms of magic, based on personality, understanding and the belief one could do things, Devas kind of magic, but clearly Tina was the meticulously working type, still, Deva knew enough to teach the basics to someone like this. "Indeed, you could do these things.. if you practice lots!" She enthused. "Study the arcane runes later, you need to be able to draw them anywhere, anytime, not actually draw draw, but weave them into your spell. I know they look rather complex so it might take a while, but it's worth it." She nodded.

Deva cleared her throat a bit at the piratess enthusiasm. "Err.. Thanks for the offer, perhaps not.. right now." She chuckled, not having the heart to tell the low self-esteemed gal that she wasn't really into her.. not that she didn't like being dominant from time to time and the piratess was kind of cute, sure, but it was obvious whom Tina fancied, and Deva enjoyed a submissives devotion more than most of the sexual act. Thinking about things for a moment sighed a little, thinking about Lucy."Ugh.. I might regret this actually, but Tomey, can you summon me a booklet called 'Diagrams of the perfect form'?'" Deva requested from her tome. "I really like these pirates too much." She chuckled, aquiering the requested booklet and poketing it for later, accompanying Tina, stepping over the assorted chaos on the ship with relative ease.
Deva mused at the singing Tina. "Wouldn't a slight change in lyrics be more appropriate for your crew though?" She grinned, a grin that didn't stop as she peered at the lewd figurine. "This will do. Try to animate this one within a months time." Deva nodded, albeit having made the decision to come here far before she had taught Tina magic.. had she anticipate the figurine to be like this, Tina picking up on the magic and her healing working so well? ".. hi Mary, I'm Aved.
Now? Well, sorry, not into treasure at all... hmnn I guess we could take a look if you wanted to, but before that, let's visit Lucy, got something for her, and after food better be ready. Am really hungry. Oh, by the way, so, we are taking course to the twelfth map-piece, what awaits us, do you know or would Lucy? Little matter, gonna see either way. Show me the way!"
She grinned cheerily at Tina, letting her demand seem more like a request and following along if Tina olbiged.

If they arrived without trouble, propably knocking with someone .. sensitive with their room, Deva would spent a moment cheerfully looking over to the ferret before focusing on Lucy, looking as if she had bitten on a sour lemon and pulling out the priorly requested booklet. "Ugh. Here you go." She grumbled, presenting the little booklet that had a man very focuseldy draw a precise looking diagram into the air, to Lucy.
"This is a book teaching the reader the basics of being a , a mage that, rather than doing magic properly, inscribes them into perfectly ordered diagrams. It's exeptionally complicated and makes no sense and isn't proper magic to be clear but I figure you might get something out of reading it, see it as thanks for borrowing me your pet." She grumbled. Truthfully, the book was very clear and self explanatory.. if one enjoyed diagrams and mathematic calculations that was. If you were imprecise, or only a little disorderly like Deva most certainly was, the magic would fail or even harm the user, but, to someone that worked with, or even enjoyed perfect precision lines and calculating directions, this offered a far more reliable way of creating primarly defensive warding rune magic than the disorderly and hard to grasp concepts of the raw power of magic had for them. "It's actually for advanced mages but.. eh. Welp, it will propably make for a silly pasttime read. Wanna come with us and puppy-eye stare at someone?" She enthused.
