*Cough* And some that just really appreciate the art *Cough*

But yeah, I'd say the activity in this thread doesn't really justify it's own sub-forum. Sometimes it can go days without anyone posting, so people usually just post if there's anything new or interesting happening, which isn't so often except for the monthly releases of some creators, or some new videos now and then. I wouldn't mind a sub-forum, but don't really see the need for it, i suppose.

Having our own subforum would make it much easier to look for individual characters than searching through 130 pages of one topic, but like others have mentioned I don't know if we have enough active users for that. Maybe it would grow more if it did have its own subforum though?

@maijinluffy there are definitely a lot of monster-like characters there that may or may not be considered furry like Giran from DBZ, Gnoll from D&D arcade game, Firebrand, Leo, Bowser, and a number of upcoming monsters from DFO and old arcade games.

One advantage of having a sub-forum is others looking throughthe internet might recognize this area as another place for mugen related stuff, but yeah, it'll take some doin before that happens.

Would be nice to have a place with less clutter though like the rest of the mugen places

I had a quick question for the people here. Are you all content with still just staying in your own thread like this, or would you be interested in having your own sub-section like the MnF guys got? The MUGEN community here has been really polite and I've never gotten a report worse than the occasional flame, so I figured you guys might want a bigger spot to talk in.

Not making any promises; I'm just gauging interest.
Call me ignorant, but I've always viewed MnF as just a bunch of very limited games that were on Newgrounds, so it seemed odd to me how they got their own section. I could be missing something here but.... meh. Never really gave a damn about it.

Honestly, I'd only consider giving Mugen its own subsection if you're aiming to provide an alternative to Mugen Archives and also intentionally take members away from there. Not that I blame anyone for doing it considering the toxicity of their community and how shitty their admins are over there.

So if you're gonna do it, it needs to be creator-friendly as well as sharing friendly with enough of a reason to drive traffic into it. Plus, we'd need someone to moderate it, and that someone needs to be familiar with the numerous different versions of the same characters.

pls. IMO 18+ mugen is in dire need of another forum "community" if you will and going through 130 pages sifting through what you want or dont is not exactly user friendly

So to address the MnF section, short version was that they had started bleeding out from their own thread and began spamming a lot of other threads. One of the guys there reached out to me due to the issues they were causing, and we reached an agreement to place all of their discussion in its own sub-section, which worked exceedingly well. The guy, Haseo, was made mod for that section only, and has been keeping an eye on them ever since. They're a pretty dedicated fanbase, much like the MUGEN community, so they did actually benefit quite a bit from having their own place to talk.

I'll also admit that I brought this up because I was casually reading about people's frustration with the Mugen Archives here. I don't have a stake at all in this, as I don't really play MUGEN, and I don't really intend on making this like a "come here to get away from Mugen Archives!" sort of thing. I just see this thread updated very often, with tons of different discussions happening all at once, which I'd imagine would be quite frustrating after a while; and with the recent discussion about people's frustration over unfair moderation, I thought it might be nice if you guys had your own place to share your content in a more categorized manner.

I make absolutely no claim to understanding the culture behind the MUGEN community, so it would be a situation similar to MnF, where I would ask somebody to step in as a moderator for that section to help with the more specific knowledge on what you would want/need and I would just help out with more administrative things.

Only concern I have is the content that could be shared. As far as I'm aware, some of the stuff is paywalled, so there might be cases of stuff getting shared that isn't supposed to be. But I'd imagine it'd be handled much like all the other games that show up in this forum.

How does one go about joining this discord? I'm always interested in new top characters, pretty much of any kind really.

I'm fine with having an Mugen Subforum, it'll be neat to have stuff nicely organized. Go there for videos, and other there for characters, and discussions. I just don't think its really active enough. Most of people in mugen community is players with some creators.

While some stuff is paywalled yeah but those is usually guys on patreon and once the character's done being built, its released to public. I liked that so I subscribed to one of the makers there. It gave attention to some long neglected characters. Someday DMG and tiffany lords will get their update needed for TOBF, I hope xD

I mostly am a lurker here but I've always kept up with this thread. Being a big mugen creator myself (on the yaoi scene) I've never really shared anything here because I don't think people would be interested in most of the stuff I make. I don't really share my stuff on MugenArchive either because I don't like how they manage the website. A subforum could allow me to post things people might like in this community (Mostly characters with top moves for this place I guess) without necessarily bothering those who absolutely don't want to see potential guy on guy action.

Those are my thoughts but either way, I'll be keeping a close eye on this place as per usual.

Dude, go ahead and share your stuff. I'm sure a bunch of people would be interested in Yaoi since it's a bit rare in general and, IMO, the futa stuff is a bit too oversaturated.

And honestly, don't shoot yourself in the foot considering how someone thought it would be a good idea to go all out on frikkin' Birdie. Just.... why? There are so many characters that are better than him.

Actually, I did share a link here once but I think it mainly went unnoticed haha. Since then I've made quite a few additions to my main top character DDC who now has even more move than Kuromaru x) I even made a stage dedicated to him haha. Of course you need proper animations to be compatible for him but I only work based on this top character now. I also started adding unique moves to some character that mostly require basic animations/sprites to work. For example I added a move to Link where he fucks someone in his wolf form doggystyle. For this month, patrons voted to add a stuck in the wall-like animation to spiderman by trapping the victim with webs. Those are the kinds of animations I think everyone can enjoy ;).

The way I work is that most of what I do on patreon becomes free after a month. I do weekly update previews and monthly download updates so even for non patrons, I still post new stuff. Although I don't only work on mugen, I still push out lots of stuff for it x).

Oh and I also added a link to my blog in my sig for anyone who would be interested. I can't post everything here cause there's too much stuff.

Redflash, I wonder if any of your yaoi aggressors are compatible with female victims or not. I'd like to know this. Because if they are, i get to expand my range of aggressors from few to some more! If not, well thats okay.

It honestly depends, I try to use the same animation number as Kuromaru when possible. For DDC, only some moves would be compatible with females. For example, he can use the tentacle trap, he has a move that works with the Stuck in the wall, Doggy, Pyrarmid, etc. DDC's made for males in mind but I also made it so that he shouldn't use moves that characters aren't compatible with in watch mode. (I also don't really share him outside of my blog to avoid the current issue with Kuromaru where there's a million version going around using different animation numbers and all that.)

For other character like Link, I added the Wolk fuck that simply uses doggy sprites, the manual milking uses doggy sprites too (it would only make sense on futa characters I guess though). Another move he has is a finisher that involves making an animation with the Clothes Cut (A simple move where the character is sent flying with their clothes tearing) and the Super sex position (I know, kinda weird name) the position is fairly simple to make but no other characters except DDC and the Goku from TheBlueKim uses those sprites. I'm planning to add a Mindcontrol move to Link using the dominion rod at some point too.

Spiderman will be made this weekend, but basically, if a character has the stuck in the wall sprites, you should be good to go ;).

I only recently started adding top moves to characters besides DDC so there only are a few at the moment. All of Link's top moves are freely available at the moment while spiderman will be released this weekend but only to patrons at first. He'll be available for free in January.

That's why I was saying a subforum could be useful for me here, I can talk about my works, mostly top for those who only want that while those who want to see the full yaoi stuff, they can head over to my blog using the link in my signature. ^^

I remember having quite a few compatibility issues with DDC when using non-RedFlash chars, like Stuck in the Wall not using the right sprite group for the victims I use that do have those sprites. Major Demon also needed me to add sprite groups for existing CG anims. A lot of his moves are made specifically with RF's victims in mind.

This is partly due to problem with having a ton of Kuromaru versions I mentioned above :/ I first based the animations number on that version of Kuromaru which may be why there were some compatibility problems.

If you have your character set up in a way that lets people use their own animations defined in the victim's air file if it exists I see no problem with it, really. Unless it's using existing animation numbers.
