That's the current solution?
I'm not so sure. All enemies have a foreplay scene, but their down scene isn't always a sex scene. Still around 70/30% foreplay to sex ratio.
Better than his 90/10% ratio of old games though, I'll agree. Maybe that was technical limitations though? The girls he drew were dressed so the scenarios couldn't be insertion stuff. If I remember properly, some swimsuit enemies in Kariyume had sex instead of foreplay, so it wasn't just bosses, and quite a few bosses didn't have sex either.
Out of the 47 different characters I quickly counted just now that have any scene at all, 31 had foreplay and actual sex, 14 only had foreplay, 1 only had sex (even the hold) and with 1 (Mermaid) I am not completely sure. That is already me counting in favor of foreplay because I haven't counted characters with sex twice that appeared in the list several times and therefore had different game over scenes, and I counted the three dream girls that work together as 1 sex and 2 foreplay because only the blonde one actually has sex with your character.
Of course if you count the total number of attacks in the game and include the holds that are basically all foreplay with only one character being the exception, the ratio you mentioned is not too far off, but I did not mean the total ratio anyway. What I meant with compromise is that the majority of enemies have at least one sex scene so they deliver both foreplay and sex, which is much better than the no sex except mostly for the few bosses we had with older games, 30+ sex scenes or the majority of characters having sex are more than enough no matter how much foreplay is in the game if you ask me.
31 to 14 is a vast improvement over the old games, especially for this creator and probably the best we can hope for. The creator clearly likes doing foreplay more and I understand why, it is easier to do, less things like clothes/armor to consider, much easier to have more variation with it because there is only a certain limited number of positions for female on male sex that makes any sense while foreplay can be pretty much anything. I doubt we will ever see a total 50/50% ratio for any game from this studio, and I am fine with that because I have gotten used to less in most games that have the females being on the offensive against the males, probably the main reason why I still enjoy male on female more because theres usually more sex involved in most games.
Maybe this is more popular though. Monster Fighter Boy Ashita didn't do as well as other reverse rape eroge. Maybe it was the scene ratio? Hmmm... Blue Mad Diode's game was also mostly foreplay... though it did have vore, and futa... and that game wasn't popular at all either.
I wonder what the expectation is for foreplay in these titles?
As someone who has played Monster Fighter Boy Ashita I gotta say it was probably more the minimalistic and sometimes crappy balanced gameplay that turned people off. Combine that with the art for the cgs that is not exactly the usual style, the lack of dialogues or meaningful story (yes that stuff helps to sell games, some games in this genre got popular for their stories more than for their h-content) and the fact that he is not exactly creative with his animations and you have a solid list. I personally liked the animation, but thats about it, no need to get the second or third game if you played the first, just more of the exact same.
I doubt there is any standard ratio expected, some games work well with few scenes, others work well with more scenes, kinda also depends on art, length of scenes, how many characters there are and if they are appealing, or if any more specific fetishes are targeted. The moment anything is completely off balance is usually the time when sales go low though. For example, I recently played a game with pretty bad gameplay and programming+map design thoughts behind it, way too long in total thanks to that with a system that required you to replay parts of the game several times in a rotation, which was making it painfully long compared to the scenes you could achieve. So a very long and not too enjoyable game in terms of gameplay, but the measly 8 scenes in the game were amazing, with absolute top grade artwork, lengthy scenes and actual story reasons behind it. The story was also great from what I could tell with my subpar japanese, but due to the gameplay being that much of a turnoff the game had a hard time, and if you drop to 4/5 on Dlsite with all the review manipulation and deletion this site does in favor of games, you know its bad and it showed in the low sales numbers. Pretty sad given that the game had a few good ideas, but they kinda fucked it up by not doing enough scenes and some bad planning.
