It's quite refreshing being back in the states, if only for a short time. I do love my country.

Always awesome coming home after being away. Being away makes ye appreciate it that much more.

I thought you were coming to visit me next. And by visit me, I mean be stationed on the other side of the country. Which I might remind people, is huge.

Oh fuck yes. Though to be honest, in Afghanistan the cooks were pretty good, and being Canadian (out in the FOBs anyway, in KAF we mostly went to the British mess and while food is similar it is still different. The American mess was much closer) they would of course aim to make something for the soldiers of their own nation.

But after places like Cyprus, Costa Rica, France, Belgium and so forth, coming home and eatin food from home is just lovely.

Don't worry Inky, I've looked at maps before. Still, yer not that big a country, despite being yer own little continent.

Only the 6th largest in the world, land mass wise. Easy for you to dismiss, Ms. Canada.

Rearanging the world, 1st in pop goes to 1st in land mass, etc. Interestingly, only the US*, Brazil, Ireland, and Yeman stay in the same spot.

*The figures on the US and China are variable, depending on if Taiwan or US territories are counted, etc.

Personally, imagine how different and strange the geo-political situation would be if India and the US shared a land border, that's what always gets me about that map :D

Lurker, we recently broke up. It was great while it lasted, but it didn't work out.

Inky, trust me, I really want to visit the land "down under" and sing "Waltzing Matilda" whilst inebriated. Unfortunately it's all according to the requirements of the service.

Sin, yup... I imagine you pretty much know how I feel ATM.

Is A&W burger root beer flavored? If so ohmy that sounds delicious, I want!

No, A&W do not have root beer flavouring on their burgers. They taste like... burgers.

Is Timmy's that doughnut/coffee chain that's big in canada, with the really really terrible doughnuts? I remember going to one when I spent a couple weeks in Edmonton.
