It might be that people are waiting for later versions, since (as mentioned in the Discord) the first release of the game is buggy and not fully balanced. This has been true of previous games as well.I'm surprised how slow this thread has been. Game came out yesterday.
Uhhhh, yeah. Might wait on more updates too. Loved the previous game, even after the updates started rolling out but the release and a couple patches afterwards were an "experience".It might be that people are waiting for later versions, since (as mentioned in the Discord) the first release of the game is buggy and not fully balanced. I believe she's actually a little outside the village. Not actually in the village, but in the area outside of it, the area that you walk through before you get to the village.I've recruited the Imp girl but I'm super confused on how to just recruit the basic Succubus in Mel village. I've defeated one already and the other parameter is to fill the stomach of one at the edge of Mel village but I swear I've talked to everyone in the village and in the forest north and south. I'm ignoring the purple out-of-place house because I assume that comes later in the game and I doubt defeating an end-game boss is how you recruit such a basic mob. Perhaps it's just bugged and I'll have to wait for 1.02 or something.
edit: speaking of which. 1.02 is out right now so I guess I'll redownload and see.
edit2: yeah I'm still confused.
You can find her in one of the forest areas. I believe she is at the south east of a screen - near where you enter. You need to have a food item she wants(is it a fish? I can't remember. There are a few characters like this where you must provide them an item to be able to recruit them via the challenge).I've recruited the Imp girl but I'm super confused on how to just recruit the basic Succubus in Mel village. A lot of recipes are gained by having other items when you speak to NPC's. All NPC's that do this will hint to this in their dialogue in some capacity, some others outright tell you give me X and the text for that usually changes to the orange colour. Some are a real pain because you must progress through the game and then go back to get the recipe and unless you took notes to which NPC enjoy talking to all of them again.I would say in the current state it's in, it's mostly playable, especially now that the Chest Attack tree in the Skill tree has been fixed. The only hanging thread is I haven't figured out how to acquire recipes. I've played through the game twice now, so either that's also a bug, or recipes will be added in later versions. Unlocking some touch minigames require you having learned and cooked new recipes, so I don't know why recipes wouldn't be available now.
As for my thoughts on the game, I would say the gameplay and combat is the best 62Studio has done so far, but the pacing of the game is probably the worst of the 4 games imho. It's actually pretty short, especially compared to Grimm and Puttel. There's also a surprising lack of boss fights, and a lot of the areas just aren't very interesting.
I would say as it stands right now, my ranking would be Friend -> Wonderland -> Grimm -> Puttel, and I only put Wonderland above Friend because the gameplay is better. Sorry if I sound too negative, there's still 2 major updates on the horizon, so we'll see if my opinion changes. I'm just disappointed because give what we saw with the gameplay and companion system in the demos, I thought 62Studio would really step it up and evolve their formula in this entry, and in some ways they did, but in other ways it was a step back. It just feels like in terms of story, pacing, boss fights, and areas, there's a lot missing.
Thank you! I'll keep that in my for my hardest difficulty playthrough.A lot of recipes are gained by having other items when you speak to NPC's. I believe the idea that falls flat is that you will use multiple of the companions throughout the game and in turn give levels to them. The real result though is you pick your favourite and just...go. Think you are very overleveled on normal towards the endgame and post-game also if you do this. Also to be more specific about my complaints about that pacing of the game...
Everything from the beginning of the game to the harbor town is perfectly fine. But it's everything after the harbor town that feels like a rush to the finish. For perspective, I was level 30 when I completed the game. Previous games I was pretty high level (70+ at least) when I faced the final bosses. But with Wonderland, once you reach the harbor town, the next area is a valley, then you go to a submarine tunnel, and then it's the final dungeon.
in the hill area with alot of stairs you need alot of the medals that makes cat noise when you find one, i had 40Do you have any idea how to fight? I've been unable to figure out where to go after doing the other postgame fights...Alice
Agreed, also for the most part, a lot of the companions are the same. For the most part. The touching mini game also falls flat. Just save your game, use magnifying glass, hit f5, reload, and click the sweet spots. You literally cannot fail that way.I believe the idea that falls flat is that you will use multiple of the companions throughout the game and in turn give levels to them. You unlock companions by Touch Minigames, and there are certain requirements needed to unlock those minigames. For example, to unlock Imp Girl in the village, you need to be Level 1. If you're not level 1 you can just have one of your companions drain you down to level 1. Sea Succubus is easy, you just have to defeat her with attacks she's weak against. Down Succubus (blue haired succubus when you get past the beach area), you have to Scan her in battle and then defeat her. These are just a few.i can't even figure out how to get new companions, sure i could use hook the game and try to make sense with mtl but it's so annoying to do that for EVERY game.
There's more to find throughout the game.how do i recover magnifying glass, after 3 tries i can't use them anymore.
There probably will be one, given that there was a guide on befriending enemies in Lust Friend.I take it there will be a guide on how to obtain all companions later on.
