Technically in some terms of stories. A warlock is just one type of fantasy male witch. Whereas in some, Witches refer to BOTH genders.

No, a 'deus ex machina' would be some hero bursting in and saving her from the dungeon, or, in the traditional sense, a an actor playing a god being lowered from the ceiling on ropes before solving everyone's problems.

Also, 'in time' does not necessarily imply no damage: you are still in time to continue fighting as long as you have at least 1 hp and 1 stamina point.
