Siphon landed not a moment too soon, the shadow wing spell finally giving out as he touched down. He waited long enough for Pale to be following him, then walked up to the entry checkpoint and flashed his cards. "She's with me gentlemen, prisoner inside the hive that we freed and who might be joining our ranks."

They didn't bother questioning him, and allowed both to pass with no trouble at all after confirming his identity. "Alright, you should find Burrito and the others, they likely are still near the helipad which, as you can see, is visible from here. I need to try and see if Copper made it back yet, so don't mind me too much."

Mentally he reached out, first to Shrike. We made it back Pale and I, if you could let Burrito and Grave know I'd appreciate it. Also that I'm sending Pale over to you folks to talk about potentially joining. Thanks Shrike.


Then he reached out to Copper. For the love of the gods, please tell me your either in the city or close to being home and not still around those damn bots Copper. Please?

Tsuki followed quietly behind, still quite sleepy. She stumbled along as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, before yawning.

Shrike answers almost immediately.

Good to hear from you, I'll let them know. We're already on our way to HQ, if you can point her in that direction.

She then speaks aloud to Burrito and Grave. "Our mage friend should be joining us soon, I told Siphon to point her to the HQ, she should be meeting us there."

So much for taking her time, though Copper was definitely relieved to 'hear' Siphon's voice. Yes, yes. I'm on my way. Some of us don't have the luxury of letting something else do the flying for us. Tell Burrito I'm en route and you all can leave a message at the gate to let me know where I should hook up with you. Though I'm getting changed first.

And with that, she beat her wings faster, winging closer and closer to the city in the distance.

It was so tempting to skip over the silly little checkpoint altogethe.. from her vantage point in the sky, only moments before, it seemed so insignificant.. but Pale heaved a sigh, and resigned herself to it anyway. Bureaucracy, bureaucracy. Before she headed for the helipad, though, she threw a vexed look to Siphon.

"I understand the need for little white lies.. but.. I'm not about to be conscripted, here, thank you very much. I'd level this place first."

Or die trying, was the unspoken thought. Nonetheless, she headed over towards the others at a lazy pace, wings furled close around her so no fool mistakes her for something escaped from the Hentai section.

There was nothing further on the topic than that, he obviously felt no need to elaborate there.


He does however blink at Pale. "I... meant no disrespect at all. I only figured you might wish to join with us long enough to have your chance at striking back against the Wraith who imprisoned and left you to die. If you simply just wish to leave than I can not, and will not make any attempt to prevent you from doing so."

Mentally he adds, And there is nothing saying you HAVE to be conscripted or even officially in the 'military'. All you need is access for here to get in and out and everything. If need be... you can use my place to stay. I hardly ever use it anyway.

Eventually, the city comes into view. When she's a good half-dozen yards away, she comes in for a landing, shifting as she does and runs a few feet before settling into a jog that eventually brings her to the gates proper. Reaching under her collar, she draws out her ID tag and holds it out for security, looking around for Siphon, whether he's inside or out.

Grave listened to Shrike's message and nodded. "It seems all of us made it... I'm not suprised." The warrior looked at Burrito. "With an army of guys like you and that Wraith, one could conquer the world."

Around the same time Copper made it to the gates is when Siphon did as well. For the moment though, she was angled wrong to see him as he was partially off to one side of her. Grinning he reached out to her. Turn right, twenty six degrees. HI!

And there he was, a grin on his face, trying to suppress a chuckle.

She turns to face him, a slightly peeved expression on her face. "Show off. You could have just said 'Hello' you know." She sticks her tongue out at him. "Everybody make it back all right?" She hooks her hand on his arm and tugs him along as she starts walking further into the city.

He chuckles some then says, "I could have, but then you'd wonder if I was ok because it wouldn't be me."

He nods. "Yeah, we did. In my case more or less though." He indicates the scorched clothing where his clothes were literally fried, and adds, "I think I need new attire AGAIN."

"That's why you go with leather. Scars only add character." She is, of course, completely disregarding the fact that her shirt is full of bullet holes, nor does she seem to care at the moment. "Still, glad to hear y'all made it back okay. We need to debrief or have we got some down time? And what's with all the hub-bub, bub? Any idea?"

He chuckles again then adds, "scars may add character, but I'm afraid are one thing I will NEVER have. Have the whole regenerative ability to blame for that one. As for any debriefing, I think that will be later. Burrito was going to take Grave, Shrike and possibly Pale to see the command and after that it's anyone's guess what will happen."

He shakes his head. "I have no idea what the hell is going on here, we flew over and everyone was rushing about like some kind of apocalypse was on the way. Maybe they all heard of the other two hives and found out somehow that the damn things are capable of flight?"

There is a low tone as he suddenly draws her close to him, so he can whisper to her, not trusting a mental link for some reason. "There's something you need to know about. While I was poking through the core just before I blew it up, I managed to access the system schematics for the whole hive and downloaded them to a small chip. Copper... that hive wasn't just capable of pulling up and flying here. It was capable of entering orbit and firing from orbit, beyond what our weapons as we know can reach. If that other Wraith manages to bring even ONE of those things to full power... The only thing standing in his way is Daedalus, and I'm not sure I can control it enough right now to repel such a force. It may not seem it but... using those drones and the beam weapons is very taxing on me. Is why I asked Pale to..... strike me with lightning."

"To the leather. I don't scar either, remember?" She grins, making sure to flash fang. "Not to mention, it's a little more fireproof, ya crispy critter." She nods as he mentions Burrito being busy. "I'm sure they'll holler for us when they're ready and if something big goes down in the meantime, not like we won't know it. Least I don't have to waste time grabbing dinner," she chuckles.

At his hushed words, she frowns. "Okay, bots whose asses we can't kick, I don't like. Maybe you ought to play with Daedelus more and see if she will listen to you. Or see if there's a viable substitute to you using up your energy on her. Pale did what with the who now?"

"Ah, yes I suppose that would work."

He nods again. "Yeah, I'm hoping that in short time I can work out something less draining for control over her, but right now that doesn't seem promising. Maybe... maybe I just need to start honing my mental powers more. Other than using them to contact Daedalus, I haven't really used them. Truth be told until recently with Shrike there having them herself, I've been afraid to use them because of what they can do to people if used wrongly."

There is a blink as he realizes he just figuratively shot himself in the foot. "Uh, yeah, I was sort of low on energy so I basically ordered Pale to zap me with a lightning bolt so I could absorb the energy from it. Hence the um... burnt and missing sections of clothing."

"Maybe you and Shrike can work together and see if there isn't anything you can do with those abilities of yours. She might know some tricks that you don't."

She listens to him explain about the reason for the lightning strike. "Well, it's in the past. Not much I can do about it. Just make for damn certain that when you do a trick like that next time, you'll know it'll work, okay?"

"That is a possibility, I hadn't thought of that. I'll chat with her later on about it."

He nodded then added, "oh it did work, gave me the boost I needed to let us get an opening to get out. I just failed to remember that lightning also burns, hence the clothing in disarray. Where are we going by the way?"

"Figures out how to make a bot ship work, but can he remember the drawbacks to lightning?" she mutters under her breath, knowing full well he can hear her. "I was thinking of getting a new shirt before someone sticks a picture of me up on the threads," she chuckles. "You might want to grab a bath, Smokey," she chuckles. "Ah yes, and I need smokes, too. And a new flask. I'm going shopping!" she declares with a laugh.

He chuckles, loud enough a few passing people smile. "Alright, well for now if you don't mind I'll join you. I do need to pick up a few things myself, and we're going to be heading in pretty well the same direction anyway. Tell me though, when was the last time you tried any kind of human food for the sheer enjoyment of it?"

"Oh, I can eat and drink and taste whatever normal food I want. Comes with knowing how to keep up the act, even though I don't need to here. The only problem is, no acid." She pokes her stomach. "What goes down, must come up. Hence why I stick to my plasma and nicotine diet." She chuckles. "And you're welcome to come along, if you'd like. I know a few shops that might have something that works for you." She grins and wanders along the streets, keeping an eye out for said shops, apparently.
