Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

"I got attacked and injected with something. Not sure what, but it caused me to change."

He walks along with her, stopping only once to remove the shades long enough for her to see his eyes, then replaced them. "So, what happened here?"

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

"Again?" she manages to get out in her usual sarcastic tone, given that he'd gone through other changes in the past, casting him a sideways look and flashing him a slight smirk. It vanishes as he asks what happened.

"Ambush," is all she replies. "Seen the others?" This asked just as they get around the corner of the building and she can see the state of affairs for herself, most notably Pale's return, Grave on the ground, and Shrike looking only slightly less better than herself (no bullet holes, after all).

She approaches the other two women. "You two okay?"

"Yeah, worst I got was some backblast off whatever they nailed you guys with, a facefull of chloroform, and a long nap in a bad position. You look like hell by the way, no offense." She jokes, her mood returning to it's usual state. "How long has it been, exactly? I feel like I've been napping for a while."

"At least I look like I feel." She starts to shake her head, then realizes that's probably a bad idea. "Couldn't tell ya. I remember wanting to rip open a tin can and then next thing I know, I'm outside. What's the last thing you remember?"

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

"Creepy lizard guy, bunch of suits with guns pointed at me, the afore-mentioned faceful of chloroform, that's about it. they had either mages or mentalists in my head, or I woulda tried something, but I'd be kinda useless if they managed to cut off my powers, so I didn't risk it." She explains, bringing a hand up to rub at the crik in her neck. "And that stunt they pulled was top-notch, even those other prisoners' illusions were completely made. Come to think of it..." She says, and closes her eyes, stretching her senses and trying to locate the original squad sent here...

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

The rest of the illusion may be gone, but the prisoners are still there. Either the Lurkers are playing one hell of a cruel joke… or there's no illusion. All four - three members of the rookie squad and the original inhabitant of the house - were unconscious, and likely had been the whole time.

Meanwhile, under an illusion some distance away, Host facepalmed.

Oh fucking hell, the first four. I completely forgot about them! Damnit, we could have taken them with us as a consolidation prize when the mission went bad... Gah, no matter. We have all we need. And a prototype we don't, but like having anyway, he thought, and grinned.

Shrike located them, and opened her eyes again. "They're still in the closet we thought they were, though they're unconscious now. Gimme a hand?" She asks, and moves off towards the back door to the house. She seems a little... Distracted, would be the best word to describe it.

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

Copper nodded, starting after her and immediately stopped when she realized she was wincing with every step. Slowing down again, she shook her head. "I'd go with, but I don't know how good of an idea that would be, at least until you can make sure they're not bleeding any." As Shrike likely recalls, a beat-to-shit Copper plus an open wound is a bad scene. She looks over at Siphon, looking as though she might suggest he go with Shrike, but then stops herself, remembering she's not exactly in charge any more.

"Think you'll be okay if I wait here?" she asks instead.

((And no, I'm not purposely ignoring Pale. I just hate having conversations when people aren't around to respond. If anything, I'll put something up before I go, too.))

"Fair enough. You sure you're alright? I hate to sound like a walking juicebox for ya, but I made it through that completely unharmed, it's not like I can't spare any. Give it a thought, I'll be fine for the moment." She says, and slips into the house, heading upstairs to check on the original prisoners. She finds the trio, plus the homeowner, in that same closet, and started checking them over for wounds, broken bones, electronic bugs, remote bombs, and anything else that would pop into her head, though she doesn't really expect much.

"I'll be better once I work the lead poisoning out of my system. That's what's making me feel crappy. I'll get something to eat after the mission. If not, I'll just eat the interviewer. Go make sure the others are okay."

She at least waits until Shrike is out of sight before flopping back down to sit on the ground again. Her gaze turns up again, this time on the winged woman standing with them.

"Glad to see you made it back in one piece, Pale. It's good to see you again."

((And on that note, sleepytime. Sun's coming up *grins*))

((I'll continue the post if thats alright Host, if not then say and I'll delete to let you finish it))

The stranger paused as the sword finished it's arc across the man. A moment of silence and then a spray of blood erupted from him as he fell onto the floor screaming in agony.

"Is that the best you've got?" He says angrily to Host whilst looking around the area. "Looks like this planet isn't going to put up much of a fight either..." In a blur of black mist the stranger now stood in front of the mage, hiw hand crushing his throat. "Right, tell me where we are or I'll crush his neck."

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

Darkness. Whenever Grave's mind lost contact with the world of humans, it retreated there. To the edge of the dark realm, where beings of night dwelled. Grave knew that one day, his soul would become just like theirs. One day, he'd join them. And even if those beings hadn't acknowledged him as one of them yet, they were used to him... Waiting for him. Watching over him. Now, they were whispering about what happened to him, feeding Grave's memory. He recalled the armored man. He recalled the grenade. He recalled the pain and blindness. Was his last eye destroyed? Was he really wounded?

Suddenly, something stirred. Grave could feel something coming. Something dark. Something insane. Something... Something he felt that he had to face. The other watched him with anticipation.

'Time to go.'

Grave opened his eye. He was suprised by the fact that he could see and hear. He wasn't wounded either. He quickly stood up. He could see Copper, Pale, and someone he didn't recognize. However, he recognized the stranger's spiritual signature.

"Siphon? What the Hell? And Pale?" Grave shook his head. His memories caught up to him. Grave tensed, preparing to fight. However, he couldn't sense the enemy...

"Ok. What the f*** happened?!?" He certainly wasn't in a good mood. Grave's anger was quickly building up. However, the warrior couldn't find a suitable target. That certainly didn't help.

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

"From what I understand, and ambush against you folks. I got shot down by some kind of creature with a rocket launcher, crashed and walked here from what's left of the mountain. On my way, someone else attacked me and injected me with something. Beyond that, I honestly don't know. Oh, I almost forgot, it's not one super hive, there's TWO."

He was silent for a moment then growled slightly. "I'll be damned if I'm letting Shrike go in there alone without checking if they left any booby traps. Be back in a few."

Why ever he did it, perhaps it had something to do with him having said he felt stronger and all, no one could tell, but he did anyway. Siphon took two running steps, then jumped a good fifty feet in the air, propelling himself to the side of the building, which he used as a secondary spring board to move back up, and enter the second story building windows, or rather, what was left of them. This was accomplished in the span of about three seconds, far faster than he previously had ever been seen to move, not to mention a much further leap. It was strange to see a blur of black leap like that, but he managed it with hardly any effort.

Keying his radio he spoke low. "Shrike, can you hear me? I'm in the building with you. What's your twenty?"

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

Grave looked at Siphon. He was suprised by the change his C.O. went through, but that didn't bother him. His attention was focused on something else. "Ambushed? By who? And what kind of creature he's talking about?" Certainly, Siphon's explanation didn't help Grave understand anything. His rage increased rapidly. His hands were shaking. "God, I do hope that bastard who did this survived... Cause I really want to tear him apart!"

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

Pale was.. distracted. The grey mage has taken to pacing up and down where Host had stood, obviously deep in thought. She waves off the first few attempts at conversation.. then finally, turns to address those remaining.

"Grave, vamp-girl.. sorry to keep you waiting. You were ambushed by an elite group. I think Lurker, but that could be a cover. They're led by a psychopath, which makes them very dangerous indeed.. But, good news, they don't like the bots. Or the Wraith. As for me.. I turned up in time to piss them off a little.. though they pretty much released you guys out of their own free will. I can't claim too much credit there... I'm just.. their leader.. Fascinates me. Did anyone get his name?"

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

((Shrike still doesn't have a radio, short of the one built into her ship ;) ))

Having fully checked the bodies and finding nothing wrong or harmful, she slowly picks up the homeowner, being the lightest of the four, and started to head back, finding Siphon a couple rooms away. "Hey there, all four are fine, the rest are in the closet two rooms back." She says simply, and keeps walking, headed towards the stairs.

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

((Oops lol.))

Siphon nodded. "I got two then, meet you outside."

He headed into the room, then got two of the people. He then sprinted outside, taking the stairs, actually arriving about the same time Shrike did despite her having a lead on him.

"One left, you want or shall I go in?"

Shrike raises an eyebrow, surprised at his speed. "By all means, looks like you need to burn off some energy, go right ahead." She says with a bit of a chuckle, before noticing the rest of the group. "Hey, Grave's up, how are you feeling?" She asked nonchalantly.

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

Siphon shrugs. "Alright, be back in a few."

He heads back in, gets the other person and moves for the stairs. He was almost there when they collapsed, blocking his exit.

"Uh ok folks, stairs are out. Going aerial."

The next thing they know, he's jumped out of the second story window, landing in a smooth crouch, protecting the hostage. Then he casually strolls over and sets him down. "Ok, that's all four of them. Now to wake them up ...."

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

((That's it. Nobody's leaving the briefing area without a radio next time.))

Hearing Grave growling actually seem to relax the vampire. If he were conscious enough to be pissed off, she took that as a good sign. She remained sitting where she was, nothing save a "Jesus" coming out as she watches Siphon take off for the building. Hearing the mage, she puts her attention on the winged woman, taking in what Pale relayed about their attackers.

"Lurkers. Grand." Surprisingly, there's no malice in her tone. She seems more annoyed than anything else. To Pale's question, she shrugs, then looks as though she immediately regrets the action. "Nope, sorry. Maybe if they'd tried, y'know, diplomacy instead of subterfuge we might have had more time to talk. All they managed to accomplish was pissing me off and ruining my shirt." She pauses long enough to help finish digging another bullet the rest of the way out, grimacing the whole while. "Regardless of what you did or didn't do, Pale, thanks."

Her attention goes to the house again as Siphon lands out the window. "As if he didn't show off before," she grouses, though it's good natured, at least.

"Pale, did you see the creature Siphon was talking about?"
