Wow, that's a hell of a stealth release. No mention on the official site or Twitter account at all. Shame it's one of the twerps. I want to get it as a "holy shit, it exists" purchase but Mashiro doesn't do it for me.

That has fascinating implications. I guess this means that Debonosu gave up on Shiravune?

Shiravune never did shit to market the Dawn of Kagura games, so I can't imagine they ever had much reach. So I'd guess they just gave up trying to deal with Shiravune (and by extension, Johren and Steam).
 
That's nice, more games in english is always a good thing
Although well, if that's the reason they're dropping Shiravune, they should've done more to market this one but it's such a stealth release

Shinpuki 4 is out. No content warning needed (gallery already posted on exhentai). Amusingly enough, it looks like every boss had a bad end associated with it. (#1 has her becoming a sex addict, #2 has her getting turned into a monstergirl, #3 has her becoming a seedbed.)

Shinpuki 5 (神楽新風記～舞歌の章～) is announced. This'll be Maika's third round I think?

I have Reimeiki 8, 14, and this upcoming one. 14 got an English port as "The Dragon's Wrath" but I wouldn't count that as a separate game. Which one am I missing?

2 is the one that got translated for some reason they ignored 1
it's actually very easy to tell because they're listed as sequels, besides ni means two and san means three
but how do you actually now the reimeiki number of the games???

I was just scrolling down the product page and looking at the thumbnails; I completely missed that was her because the dark filter on the splash image was turning her hair purple. Heh.

Edit: Now I'm looking and that's actually been consistent though all of Maika's appearances, her hair basically just matches current lighting conditions. As opposed to Nazuna always being obviously blond, no matter how dark it is.

Does anyone know how to launch Kagura Houshinka? The locale emulator doesn't help - there are strange scribbles in the game itself, after which the game crashes.

you need to have both your pc set to japanese locale AND ALSO use locale emulator for some games, for some fucking reason
and yes i know it doesn't make any sense
though the fact that the game is crashing is weird
anyway try that first

Yuki-onna girl?

Oh.

That's the bad end of that particular work, after Rio's been turned into a monster. She's preying on someone else. The victim will probably enjoy while it lasts, but he ain't surviving it. (You can even see frost starting to form on the victim.)

Starting with 7, you have the option of giving up and getting the bad ending after seeing the final boss's 2nd defeat event. Most of the bad ends result in the MC (or MCs) of that work becoming a breeding slave(s) for the monsters, but a handful instead end with the MC becoming a youkai and preying on other humans.

The two most recent games (Shinpuki 4 and 5) look to do both - surrendering to the mid-boss gets you the youkai ending, surrendering to the final boss gets you the slave ending (that's an extended sequence).

Also, Shinpuki 5 is out and its CG gallery already posted. (No content warning necessary.) Maika as a nekomata is cute.

Next game is yet to be announced, but I'm sure we'll see it tomorrow.

Edit: Shinpuki 6 is announced and it's Murasaki, the blue-haired twerp. Murasaki passes for a 12 year old so this one gets the loli tag.

She actually won the popularity poll last time they did one. Japan's gonna Japan, I guess.

Wonder if her stuff also pulls in the NTR crowd, since she has a canonical boyfriend. Even if he only shows up for the Tama Kagura titles.

I think it's left open-ended precisely so that she can be a virgin in every game.

Honestly, dude is perfect NTR bait if he won't commit until monsters lay hands on his girls.

But my understanding is that the intended canon result is Yuuma with Yukari.

But much like with the MC of Natsu Kagura marrying Youko, the canon outcome won't matter until we get a timeskip and are suddenly presented with the resulting kid as a playable character.

in the shooting game he has a kid with youko
but in tsuki kagura i think it's implied that he married keika? and he's a teacher?
so yea lol

and speaking of which, in the latest game with the otowa sisters, hatsuka's personality was waaay off
she was TOO MOE
in natsu kagura she was spunky, funny, witty, a bit of a ditz
but in that latest game she was just 100% moe
and the artstyle and inexpressive live2d didn't help matters either, but i bet it's because there's a different writer now, and he didn't give a shit about preserving her personality
a real shame

and you know what else is stupid
in natsu kagura our MC guy can't fight because spider youkai steals his powers at the beginning of the game, but in the DLC that's supposed to happen after that WHY is it that he still can't fight!?

Kenji was also the writer for Kagura Douchuuki, among other things. Looking at his VNDB entry, it looks like he was with Studio e.go! since 1999, jumped ship to Debonosu to do Kagura Douchuuki and its spin-off visual novel with the school, left in 2009 to work with Tinkerbell, came back in 2012 to do Kurenai Kagura, in 2013-14 did a few games for Devil-Seal, and then quit the field (last post on his PIXIV is 2014). But yeah, this guy wrote Natsu Kagura, Oni Kagura, Ama Kagura (the shooter), and Tsuki Kagura. Ah, okay. Looks like he left the h-game industry behind and is now writing mainstream light novels. I feel like I've heard of Everyday Magicians? His twitter handle is hoshinewone. Edit: I have to be mistaking it something else, there's no way I'd heard of

Char also wrote Reimeiki 15 (Hatsuka) & 17 (Keika). Okay, Char's career started back in 2004 and they've done work for numerous companies, including ANIM, Black Rainbow, CLOCK UP and Liquid. He's been a regular for Debonosu ever since Reimeiki 2 (Yukari's first appearance in that series). A giant chunk of the Reimeiki and post-Reimeiki games are written by Char. Not a majority but a large minority.

So yes, you are right and it's a completely different writer.

you did a good job investigating them, i just looked at their names in the scenario section in vndb but didn't investigate further
basically yes, this guy homogenized all the heroines
and it's a shame, judging by what you've said the guy does not lack experience, he COULD've kept her personality

and regarding Kenji, it's a shame he's now doing SFW stuff, i see those girls in the cover and i just think to myself... damn, would

same situation with the music composer we already discussed a few pages back
the golden era has long since ended, that's just how it is
back when the games had fucking awesome music, an actual fleshed out scenario instead of the small reimeiki stories, hand drawn art for different emotions instead of live2d, and.... h-scenes that lasted 2 seconds
yes not everything was better admittedly XD

well, the reimeiki series are good
a solid formula that can be repeated over and over again with different heroines
honestly it's great
but ngl i miss the full RPGs
though i understand that everything i mentioned is more costly
 
Shinpuki 6 is out and while the heroine might warrant the loli tag (kind of goofy - Kazue drew the character as older but she's still tiny) , the zarashi-wakashi monster girls definitely warrant the tag. If Rewght returns to edit the OP, anyways.

Next game is yet to be announced, but I'm sure it will be by noon tomorrow.

Edit: Next up is Shinpuki 7 with Keika. Which probably means Keika's kami Natsu and Keika's sister Hatsuka will be getting their own turns.
