Shrike just shrugged, heading up through the second hole as well, and looking around. Reaching out mentally with another grimace, she points off down one hall, waiting for the others before heading off in that direction.

Pale turns her eyes down, for a moment, considering her options. The only spell strong enough to hold Siphon at the moment... well. A ForceCage was no good, she'd need materials, or at least markings, around the edges.. a HorrorCage was useless, as they needed to make him more sane.. not less.

"I have a spell. I warn you.. it may seem to have killed him, but I assure you, he will be very much alive, simply, immobilised."

"If we can immobilize him then we can at least try to figure out how to help him without fearing attack. Perhaps we can 'convince' that other wraith to tell us how to help him."

"I don't care what you use as long as it holds him in place." Burrito says, reaching into his armor and pulling out a vial full of green liquid "I have something special planned for this hive. It's a highly concentrated liquid version of the gas in my bomb. From what I've gathered, this thing is alive. Since it's alive, I'm going to introduce this liquid into it's system. Before you know it, it'll be melting all around us." Burrito says, smiling as he sits at the edge of the hole, waiting for Pale to come up "You coming or what?"

From near by they heard another roar of a Thembrihkal that was cut off in mid roar by an unknown sound. A few moments later, some kind of alarm began to sound throughout the ship.

As the group moved onward further, a massive wraith emerged. This had to be a hive king. King's were supposedly massively powerful, immensely strong and hard to kill, and very quick. They were also something previously thought to have been nothing more than a myth. Here one was though, in the flesh, and looking very, very angry. He's also been enhanced with bionic equipment.

He came rushing towards Copper, arm moving down to swing and cave her head in from a massive blow.... that never connected. There was a blur of movement and something grabbed the king's arm. The motorized enhancements ground in an effort to move, but the force holding it back was too much. After several moments of being at a dead stand still, long enough for the group to realize it was Siphon who had stopped the attack, the hybrid shoved the king backward, breathing slightly on the heavy side. When he spoke, it was with a growl, but it seemed that for the moment, he was once again at least in partial control of himself. "You will NOT harm my friends you ugly son of a fucking cockroach! DIE!"

The two charged each other, meeting in the center of the vast hallway they were in, clashing blows repeatedly. For the moment the two seemed to be evenly matched, each exchanging blows that probably would have dropped any other creature to their knees in shock. Yet despite the powerful blows exchanged, neither combatant seemed to be giving an inch.

The thought probably going through everyone's mind now would be, if Siphon really was fluctuating wildly between being totally paranoid and hostile at times and in control at others, then when he changed again and shuddered, would it cost him the fight and his life that temporary moment of weakness? Right now the fight was too close to call, but that could change if Siphon's body underwent another change during it.

"Shit..." Shrike mumbled under her breath. She could think of two or three ways she could help, but she needed to save her strength to help Siphon's mind, she didn't have enough to spare. "This is out of my league, we need to distract it or trip it up somehow." She said, keeping clear of the battle.

Tsuki followed behind, again keeping to herself.

During the battle between Siphon and the 'King', her mind continued to race. How to.... "You need a distraction? Okay...." She would sound unsure as to how effective her idea would be, seeing as both of the Wraiths were... strong, to say the least.

She mentally accessed the data that was the hallway. She modified, and changed it. One moment, it was still normal, for a hive ship. The next moment, a column reaching out from the ceiling, aiming to crash down on top of the king, where it would then seemingly melt and resolidify around him, effectively trapping him. Hopefully. For Siphon, Tsuki gave much more leeway since he was, mostly, friendly. Tendrils reached from the floor and walls to try and grapple his arms and legs, to try and hold him in place.

Grave prepared himself to fight in a usual way, by drawing his sword, focusing and adopting a stance. He was suprised by the power of the king, as well as Siphon's strenght. However, he was sure that Siphon wouldn't be able to use it for a long period of time.

The columns came down crushing the king's head in, killing it. No creature could survive having it's brain squashed, not even one that powerful.


Siphon on the other hand seemingly LET the tendrils grab him before turning to yell at the group as best as he could. "There's a stunner on the floor, that big bulky gun thing. SHOOT ME with it, you need to shoot fifteen times, one after another don't let up til I'm out. HURRY I can't retain control much.... GAH NOT YET!"


((NOW I'm off til Friday. Assume that he remains out for now until I get back. Someone, SHRIKE, can try entering in with the other Wraith to his mind to repair it. Assume that the Wraith NPC follows and does what you want since he actually IS telling the truth about being on your side.))

Grave searched the area, looking for any kind of a gun-like weapon. Upon noticing the big, bulky firearm, he dropped his sword, dashed towards the stunner, picked it up, aimed at Siphon and fired. He kept shooting until he fired all fifteen bullets, hitting the wraith with relative ease. Afterwards, Grave dropped the gun and sighed. "I don't like big guns like this one... But I know how to use them." He rubbed his right arm. "My body's going to complain about it, though - that thing's heavy."

Pale.. wasn't taking the chance. If just one of those stunner bolts missed, they could all be dead in heartbeats. Instead, she looks straight at Siphon, and utters a single word.

"Petrify."

A dim grey beam that leaves a trace of crumbling stone flies from the mage, aimed to strike Siphon full in the chest. Should it strike.. he'd find himself a statue. Alive, fully conscious, but utterly immobilised.

Seeing as how Pale had everything covered, Burrito begins to move through the hive with one intention set in his mind: Find somewhere to inject the liquid, then an idea comes to his mind. "Tsuki. Can you locate some kind of central control panel or somewhere that controls the rest of the ship? I have a package to deliver." he asks over the radio, a smirk on his face as he wanders through the hive

((I think tired Siphon misread Tsuki's trap for the king, but either way, we no longer have to deal with it. Or rather, you all don't. I hate being distracted for days.))

"Hey, Tsuki, remind me never to make you mad, okay?" Copper chuckles at the sight of the dead King. "So, what's the plan now? We cart Siphon out of here, let Burrito do his thing, and radio Triple-A for a pick up since John here locked the keys in the car?" She looks at the squashed king. "And are we taking any of that back with us for study or scrap for Burrito?"

"Honestly, I don't know." Shrike says, walking carefully up to the now-petrified Siphon. "How long does this last, Pale?" She asks as she places her hands on either side of his distorted head, touching foreheads for a split second before yanking her face away again, grimacing. "He's... Under the effects of whatever they did to him right now, I either need help, some rest, or just a chance to wait until his mind calms again before I can do anything."

(I had meant for it to be more of knocking him flat against the ground and holding him there... but I suppose killing him works too.)

Tsuki blinked and grimaced at what she had done to the 'King' Wraith. "...Eewww. That's... just a little gross. I... didn't mean to do that.... And sure Copper."

"Hmm, a control panel? I don't think that'd work for injecting a liquid. You'd have to access the more inner workings of the ship, I'd think. The maintenance tunnels would be your best bet, probably."

Grave walked towards the spot where he dropped his sword and picked it up. "Don't drop your guard down. There are most likely other hostile beings here. Maybe some of the tentacle beasts survived Siphon's little rage-induced 'trip'." His sarcastic tone and the subject of the joke probably wouldn't earn Grave any kind words, but he didn't care. "And what about that other wraith?"

John shrugged. "He said that we'd need the other wraith to help undo the mental damage, so my guess is we take the other one with us and make him help us. Though if what we heard was accurate, it sounds like that other one won't say no to helping us there. I have a strange feeling that he may also have some valuable intel we can coax out of him. So uh Pale... We can safely touch that statue you made him and carry him without turning to stone ourselves right?"


A sudden thought occurred to him and he added, "wait a second.... He has the ability to call on that ship right? So why the hell didn't he call on it to kill these things? Or for that matter to attack us when he was insanely wanting to hurt us all? Something isn't adding up here."

Grave shrugged. "There are three possible answers. One - the ship was destroyed. Two - controlling the ship puts a lot of strain on him. Three - the link between him and the ship was severed or damaged, either by his insanity, by the wraith or by himself." The warrior looked up into the sky. "Personally, I think it's either number two or three, maybe both." Grave thought for a moment. "There are other possibilities as well. Perhaps the ship sensed Siphon's state of mind and rejected his commands, or became unstable as well. There are many plausible explanations. Of course, I'm assuming that he uses his mind to do that. I've never seen Siphon with any kind of control device, and I doubt the wraith would let him keep one."

Pale was miles away, checking mentally on the status of something. She snaps back to reality with a blink.

"Go ahead, touch him, it's fine.. as for the ship, well. There's a lot of interference around the place.. it could be that. Or he didn't think to use it... Siphon will be out of it.. well, indefinitely. Until I reverse it, so.."
