Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Alrighty, multiple response:

@Wallpaper: Try not to get too excited. I've DMed a couple games IRL before, ran a bit short. I'm more of a reactive player, which doesn't go well with an ST position. My biggest problem should be fixed by running it as a forum game though, which would be my inability to act in a social setting, so I'm hoping this will go better :)

@Chibs: alrighty, drop a post when you're done, I'll take a look-see.

@Ronny: looks good, one question I can think of. An EPW is some sort of spy or something? I'm not actually that familiar with military terms, maybe a larger explanation?

I'll cool my heels. XD I imagine that running it over the forum will give you more time to think and react, which will hopefully help.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Running it online means its less acting and more writing a story, which turns out to be an important distinction, apparently.

Also, one more question for Chibs: does Eve drive a car? If so, what's it look like?

Yeah, she drives a dark green VW bug. x3 small car for a small person

Alright, that works nicely, thanks. I'm starting to get a little surprised, almost everyone's story is fitting together nicely, there's a few of them whose introductions will actually follow one right after the other, almost like chapters in a book. I'm proud of myself :)

Sorry I forget everyone doesn't know military lingo. EPW is enemy prisoner of war, used to be called POW's but now they differentiate between them.

Not a problem, simple question, simple answer. I think I have one more question though: Is he a bar drinker or an at-home drinker?

Bar drinker, though he doesn't really enjoy it. He still can't help trying to figure people out just by watching them.

Perfect...

*cues maniacal laugh once again*

Edit: I could definately use the info on the basics of the clans, since I'm doing this without knowing the game. I know Malkavians are lunatics, Gangrel is outdoorsy shapechangers and they are the only ones who can do the most changes, nosferatu are deformed someway but are good for getting info, toreador is artists. I've heard of tremere, cappadocian, brujah, caitiff, setite, and assamite, but don't know what they are, or any opther clans for that matter.
in other news, I just noticed this :/

Tremere are blood mages, Cappadocian are ancient, and don't exist anymore (as far as most people know...), Brujah are rebels without a cause, typical gangbangers and such for the most part, though the older ones tend to be more refined and directed, at the very least. Caitiff is another word for clanless, either from lack of knowledge, weak blood, or being embraced using mixed blood (Though that's usually Sabbat, and those are called Panders as well). Setites are egyptian and area vampires, snake worshippers who can actually turn into one if they are strong enough. Assamites are the assassins, usually middle eastern, with some exceptions. There are a few others, either give the clans area of the book a read, or just wait and find out ;)

Muahahaha...oh wait I'm not the game leader this time. Drat.

Actually all I've been doing all day is reading about the clans. Though I think that actually confused me more since I thought of ways my character fit in most of them. So I'll just wait and see who embraces me, I'll enjoy the game either way.

You might be a little surprised in the one I'm leaning towards, but I'd like to hear if you have any preferences now that you've read through some of it. Leme know, I'll take it into consideration ;)

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

let's see...

well she wakes up, showers, and eats before heading off to do a morning shoot. Then head off for lunch and then heads out into the wild to work on a landscape painting, then in the late afternoon she heads home to shower and relax, before heading out to a club.

sound good?

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Alrighty, with the exception of Ryu, everyone has a completed sheet and a framework for their introduction. Time for a vote. I can start slowly pumping out introduction threads, or I can even more slowly start to pump out info threads, or I can wait some more. Thoughts, feelings, concerns?

EDIT: Yet another loose end I've forgotten to tie up. Hey Copper, you said either a bookstore or coffee shop for Isabella, right? It just so happens that there is a bookstore right on Campus in the college, if you lived in the apartment-style dorms you wouldn't even have to step outside to get to work. Sound like a plan?

As long as the info threads are up before they are needed, they can come after the intro threads. Otherwise, info first.

I'm showing interest but I want to see the info threads first before I make a character personality in my mind and everything <.<

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

The info threads will only have clan and discipline descriptions, stuff that I would rather people not have in mind when making their character. Now that you mention it though, I could probably make a third with information about Red Deer itself, though that will definitely take a while, not being very familiar with the place myself. Don't worry too much though, I plan to make it fairly easy to introduce new characters after things get going :)

I was just kinda wondering what you planned to happen because if I joined this RP I would make it would be the first time I would make a character that was really good at fighting XD

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

There will be combat, don't you worry. And almost every Kindred can be useful in combat. One of my favourite characters (in concept, boring as all hell to actually play) was a Toreador hacker. Absolutely zero physical ability past the dexterity to type, never held a gun before, and had no real combat disciplines, and he was forced into going to help some other kindred. They gave him a simple 9 mil with one clip, and he actually managed to kill 2 Sabbat with it, emptying the entire clip with only a single miss, and walked away with a hand wound.

That's an exceptional circumstance of course, but it was really surprising. Point is, don't feel you need to make a blackbelt or a military sniper to be 'good' at combat. That being said, what do you have in mind?
