Re: School Courtyard

As the energy fists first dive for Charles he dodges and side steps them as he continues to make his way to Siphon, though as they come down for their second attack Charles has to stop to cut down his attackers. Though as Athanasia blasts herself off him, Charles is launched several feet from where he stands and only just manages to right himself before landing. The damage from both attacks on the armour seem to have healed up just as fast as before, though the attacks seem to have caused significant damage while Charles was being hit.

"Why do you persist in your struggle to save these people, people you don't even know, from my revenge?" Charles growls at them, his breathing slow and ragged as he coughs every so often though it doesn't appear as if he realises he's in such bad shape.

Turning back to face Siphon he lets out a confused grunt and spins around to spot him, though it's too late for him to react as Siphon reappears in front of him. Bracing himself for the attack Charles lets out a shocked gasp as Siphon's claws tear straight through his armour and spear deep into his chest. Dropping his sword which shatters into several pieces, Charles stumbles backwards and drops to his knee's where the armour over his legs shatter into dozens of tiny pieces.

"T-this can't...have happened.." Charles growls weakly, as his helmet slowly melds back into his armour blood can be seen covering much of his face and staining his hair. "I...I was supposed to win.." Charles makes to get up and as he does what little is left of his armour quickly disintegrates revealing that not only is his shirt soaked with blood but much of his pale body was covered in it as well. Barely managing to stay standed Charles is silent for a moment, his eyes closed as if he was trying to work something out.

A moment later he tilts his head back and laughs coldly though he stops a few seconds later as he begins to cough. Fresh blood spills out of his mouth and into his hands and onto the grass. "I get it now...This body..it was imperfect from the start..Tainted, if you will." Looking around at the group a twisted smile stretches across his face, as if this knowledge was a small win in itself. "Fine, I'll accept this fate..for now..But this isn't over...and this boy? His body...it's too late for him now......Not only is this body in its..final stages..But his soul..heh..his soul...." Charles suddenly drops to his knee's and falls forward. "....returns to the flow..." With that the body falls silent, anything that could pick up irregular energies or life in Art's body would realise that Charles seems to have moved on. Quite suddenly the bell chiming for ten o'clock continues to ring out, finishing up as if it had never stopped. Students start to move again, unaware of what had just happened.

Isabella watches Grace talk to her unconscious body wishing that she could communicate with her in some way. After a moment she realised that it was most likely impossible to contact her and as she drew her attention to the demons that hovered over her she suddenly noticed the other girl standing near her.

"I can't help it, all I remember is trying to fight off that knight and then the next I'm here," Isa replies to the girl, a little daunted by the fact that even though she said she wasn't dead the girl that was standing with Isabella was quite obviously dead from the wound on her body that was lying motionless on the floor. "Can you help me get back?"

Re: School Courtyard

Ian stops as he sees Charles practically limp in Siphon's hold. He could answer the knight, when he asks about defending those they don't even know, but an answer like that looks like it's going to take more time than he has. What's the most worrisome is his talk about Art. Given what folks around here knew, maybe, maybe he'd be wrong, but that was something that was beyond his abilities. Not to mention he wasn't the only one to get hurt during this little fiasco."

"Sho? How's my girl?" he calls as he sprints across the courtyard, heading over toward the other two that he knew Charles hit and hit hard. ((Mostly since answer's dependant on Siphon.))

Isabella has Grace beside her, so he opts to check on the one girl no one had the opportunity to aid, hoping what he'd seen hadn't been as fatal as it looked. She didn't look familiar, so there was no name he could call to try and coax her back to consciousness. Though given the look of the strike she took, he wasn't sure if that was going to be possible.

Still, he made himself check, feeling gently for a pulse and not daring to roll her over at the moment to check for breathing.

"C'mon, darlin'," he breathes out, the words almost prayer-like. "Let's not give that creep the satisfaction of even one notch on his blade."

Trixie watched as the knight fell over, still growling slightly at the limp body. However, she seemed to notice the bell chime, and quickly calmed down, quickly deforming herself as she nears, though it would be hard to hide the rends in the back of her school uniform as she aproached. "Crap, please don't tell me that's Art..."

Re: School Courtyard

Sho would discover that Aya was just now getting back onto her feet, a little shaky as she'd hit her head, but otherwise she seemed to be alright, if not a little out of it.

"Ugh ... where the fuck is he?"

Siphon's eyes darted for just a fleeting moment as the bells chimed, realizing that Charles was gone. He let out a soft growl when he realized it had taken a nearly fatal blow to stop him, and at what cost? Could he save Art? Did he even still have the healing ability? He had no idea, but he knew he could only try.

And so he placed a hand upon Art's chest, even as the man lay there bleeding out. As soon as he did, he could feel the familiar tingle of energy rippling through his body that would allow him to heal ... but it felt different. He began the process, then paused for a moment as he let reality soak in. During that time he watched as the wounds actually began to re-open themselves, and he frowned. That wasn't supposed to happen, but it didn't feel like it was something on his part. So that had to mean Charles had left a parting gift.

Little bastard. Good thing you didn't have your own body, I'd rend it limb from limb.

He now knew he had only one real option, and that was to suspend Art's synaptic processes and place him in a form of stasis. He'd only ever seen it done once, but never actually done it himself, and for a moment he hesitated. He could very well kill Art if this didn't work. Then he inwardly shrugged. The man was already dying, what difference did it make if he sped it up and mercifully ended it by accident instead of letting him die slowly? His mind made up, he placed his hands upon Art's chest again, closed his eyes, and focused.

Those paying attention would see as the puncture wounds slowly healed back up, and then a flash of almost golden light washed over Art, and his body in it's entirety seemed to suddenly freeze. If one watched long enough, they could faintly see he was still alive, but the body simply was in some form of suspended animation. The entire process had taken about ten minutes, which was very slow for him, but he didn't seem to care, he had another job to do.

When he spoke, his features had returned to normal, save for the fact his hair was now jet black instead of brown.

"Someone get Coraxus the hell over here, we need to get a hold of Art's parents. Grace ... let me see her."

Her was in reference to Isabella, and he barely even waited for the other girl to move before he was next to her, looking her over.

His eyes sought out any lingering injury that would prove fatal, and when he found the bruises from the punch as the only wounds, he almost breathed a sigh of relief, til he realized he no longer could do so. He could somehow feel her heart still beating within his mind, he knew she wasn't dead yet, and thus began repairing the damage, focusing on working on her brain first to prevent swelling and death.

When he was done, he turned his attention to the third person he needed to help, though one touch of her body confirmed what he already had suspected. Whoever she was, she was dead. There was nothing he could do for her now. Shaking his head, he stood.

"Where the hell is Coraxus!"

Re: School Courtyard

Jackson was surprised at the sudden end if the fight. With the armor disappointing and person who was in side fell limp to the ground Jackson's started to force on the... for the lack of a better would at the moment, monster that dropped the knight. With him forced on the downed body.

He turns to look where Isabella was and saw one of the other involved with the fight checking on her. He started to look about noticing the once non-moving students once more walking about. He pulled his burnt left arm to his stomach as he walked to where Isa and the others. He didn't want anyone to see the fresh burn and question him about it.

Once he reached the group he dropped to a knee on the other side of Isabella and watched the other man who was already there. He saw the other man already getting a pulse so he avoided moving her anymore out of fear of causing any damage.

He watched her body for any movement hoping for a sign of any internal damage. The sound of someone walking caused him to stand and turn to look. The sight of it being man that had turned into that beast before. Jackson saw his sight set of the two girls on the floor and stepped aside and gave him some room. He look about again keeping his eyes open for anyone not involved with the fight. He still held his arm to his stomach.

Re: School Courtyard

"Hell yeah, we win!"

Rolf begins humming the Final Fantasy victory theme to himself.

Just as Siphon puts Art into stasis, a boy with long brown hair enters the courtyard from outside the grounds. He watches Siphon start healing Isabella, and begins running in that direction. He drops to the ground alongside the pair and slams his palm to the ground. A faint green glow appears under it.

"I can help! What happened here?"

After about 10 second pass, his eyes flash green and he holds his hands up to Isabella. They begin channeling a flow of green energy into her body. Siphon would notice the healing process start to accelerate.

Re: School Courtyard

Grace shuffles back a little as the others arrive to help Isabella, though she seems unwilling to go far. She dispels the barrier floating within the ground just below them as she watches the pair do whatever they were doing. "She got pummelled in the stomach and sent flying. Uh, so what are you doing?" Grace asks the long haired boy as he begins.

Ellisia lowers her sword and for now simply watches as everyone else goes about helping the wounded. She was scaning for any trace of Charles. If he had left the body she didn't want him to escape un-checked. Though of course restricting a free spirit wasn't an easy thing. She looks about the aftermath with the same alertness as she had maintained during the battle. She also watches the unrecognised Athanasia, remembering the curious comment the she had made upon arriving. Ellisia had a lot of unexpected things to report home it seemed.

At Yume's side, Ian would start to fear the worst as he fails to find a pulse after a good while of searching. Pretty certain he's got the right spot, he would be just about to come to a grim conclusion when he feels the pulse he was looking for. A sudden strong pulse. Bizarrely he doesn't feel another for a few seconds more, but then again, and becoming regular at a more normal speed now. Whilst it might be easier to think that he had simply had difficulty finding it at first, he'd be left with the definite impression that her heart had just started up again of it's own accord.

~~
In Isabella's dream she would see the strange girl look back to her and look as if she was about to answer when she seems to get distracted by something, and suddenly jerks slightly, seemingly in pain. "Aaa! Ngahh! ..." she voices wincing some as she looks down to the body below her. Holding one hand to her heart, and the other to where the stab wounds would be compared to the body. Her eyes remain slightly pained for a while, but she seems to recover and recomposes her self quickly. "I'm sorry, that caught me off guard. What was I saying? Oh yes, that was very brave of you, running out like that, though perhaps it could have gone better. And no, I'm afraid I can't help you, but you don't really need any. You'll be fine..." As she says this things seem to blur and darken, until Isabella can no longer see the courtyard, with only the strange girl left, before she too quickly fades.

(Monday has closed/left the dream-scape)

Re: School Courtyard

"Gone, for now." Sho moves over to offer Aya her arm, helping to keep her steady on her feet as she guides her back over to the courtyard proper. "I am going to have to talk to your 'cousin' about leaving the flying to me," she mutters so only the blonde can hear her. For now, though, she leaves him be, recognizing, in part, what he's doing and not wanting to break his concentration, though she starts as the newcomer comes barreling in. Hearing the word "help" though, she relaxes a little, watching him for the time being.

Ian frowned as he watched Siphon, puzzling a little at the change in his look, given that he was close enough to see it. He put his attention back on Yume.

Too little, too late?

They hadn't been able to help her when the attack had occured and now, too much time had likely passed. He sighed, resting his hand on the ground beside her.

No, wait. Is that--?

He swore he felt something...breath...tickling his hand. Maybe it was just wishful thinking. Moving his fingers to her neck again, he frowned. His imagination, then. No. No, there it was. Her heart was beating.

"Aye, Siphon! Not quite gone yet. Get y'arse back over here!"

((Although, be it Siphon or Bart's newbie that helps is up to you guys. Feel free.))

Re: School Courtyard

Athanasia prepares to strike the defenceless body, but stops, a little confused as to why everyone suddenly appeared to be concerned for the boy. Shaking her head, she looks at Siphon, thinking to herself.

She had the perfect oppurtunity to kill the man now, he was far too weak probably to stop her... but there were too many witnesses, after all, she still had the little matter of getting out of here... and having people hunting her down would be such a headache filled way to do that. She digs into her pocket, pulling out a piece of paper and then reaches into her other pocket, pulling out a pen, quickly scribbling a message in her native tongue,

Come meet me in the forest tonight, come alone.

She smiles, a short, simple message, that would get his attention. Putting her things away, she casually walks by Siphon and looks at the man, then slaps the piece of paper into what was left of a pocket and quickly heads off, not wanting Siphon to confront her here and now...

Re: School Courtyard

From her position clinging to the top of the bell tower, Mîrchell grinned broadly. There were lots of powerful people here. Plenty enough to challenge herself with. Straightening up suddenly when the bell suddenly continued chiming for 10'o'clock, her wings fluttered madly for a second, before she regained herself.

Chuckling softly to herself, Mîrchell pulled herself to the front of the tower, before jumping off, immediately beating her wings to maintain her altitude, before soaring off to do a lap of the forest before heading back towards the girls dorms, keeping to shadowy patches to avoid arousing suspicion. If any of the group happened to turn their gaze away from the nights casualties, and look skyward, they might have seen her as she took off, though Mîrchell would look simply a black shape, devoid of any defining features.

About the time when Siphon had finished with Art, Michelle strolled casually out of the building, coming up to the edge of the battlefield, barely concealing a sharp-toothed grin at those who had fallen. Flexing her hand, purple and green sparks jumped between her fingers for an instant, but she knew she had to restrain herself. There were far too many to try and pick a fight with, and many of them would still be battle-ready. No, she would have to wait. However, there was that lone one in the girls dorm who'd fired off twice. Still, the window was closed now, and the more interesting ones were down here. On the other hand, it would probably be interesting to summon a minion here and see how long it lasted against them. An infernal would certainly give her some entertainment, maybe it would even manage to smush someone.

While Michelle was busy debating with herself, she completely failed to notice the group that had congregated near her, since she had chosen a position only fifteen metres or so from Isabella. Entertaining the thought of falling upon them while they were busy with the injured girl, the malicious grin widened, and her eyes flashed red for a few seconds.

Re: School Courtyard

If anyone suddenly decided to take a look at the was a person who watched the aftermath of battle against Charles curiously. Said person was standing at the courtyard's entrance - a young man with short blonde hair and blue eyes, dressed in black clothes. He didn't seem to be willing to do anything and let someone know that his here, at least for now. Nor was he trying to hide his presence. This person was one of the students. Jonathan Bird, half human, half darkling.

Jonathan didn't witness the battle and had no idea what was going on. In fact, he wasn't even aware of the fact that there were supernatural entities in this school. He was superhuman himself, and generally was very cautious about that. He also assumed that he was unique. Today, however, he began suspect that perhaps he might be wrong when time stopped. At first, Jonathan refused to believe, but after taking a stroll around the town to check what's happening, he had no choice but to accept this fact. Someone - or something - stopped time. And it seemed that time stopped everywhere. This, of course, didn't stop Bird from helping himself to some snacks. Once he was done with business in town, he went to the school. Earlier, Jonathan had heard an explosion coming from the school grounds. Perhaps he should check it out...

And he did. Now, Bird watched as Siphon and others - people he didn't really know - tried to get themselves back together. While he had no idea who or what they are, he had to admit that some of the things they did were... Strange, to say the least. Jonathan wondered whether he should help the wounded, but it seemed that he wasn't really necessary. His abilities weren't suitable for this kind of task, anyway.

Re: School Courtyard

Siphon briefly acknowledged the new comer, and whispered a thanks when Ian's voice called out to him.

"Take over if you can, the process has started already, it just needs help finishing."

He stood around the same time that the young woman thrust the note into his pocket, causing him to shoot a startled look at her as he read it. However, with the urgency in Ian's voice, he decided now was not the time to pursue the matter, and begrudgingly let her go.

"What is it Ian?"

Aya had slowly walked back to the scene of the battle, and as she did, her emotions were clearly not in check. She was angry, confused and unsure of how to react here. As such, everyone in the area, including the as of yet unnoticed Mirchell would feel the air get noticeably hotter as she entered, not quite unbearable, but it wouldn't take much to make it that way.

"Easy, chica. It's okay. Bad guy's gone for the time being." Sho was close enough to Aya to really feel the change. Best to try and talk her down before anything combusted. Wind she could do. Rain, not so much. "If it makes you feel any better, I will pummel Siphon black and blue for tossing you around like that, but right now, you gotta take a deep breath and let it go, hon."

"She's still breathin'. Come have a look." The other boy rocked back a little to give the other some room. "Her heart just sorta...kicked up again. Best have a look before it decides ta stop."

A cough from Yume confirms it audibly to those nearby, as she unconsciously expels a load of blood from her mouth. She was incredibly pale, and it was a wonder her heart had anything left to pump considering the grim puddle on the floor around her. Yet somehow she seemed to be holding on.

Simon still a short distance off, was glad the fight seemed to have gone without any more loss. Though he had the suspicion that it wasn't really over.

Re: School Courtyard

As Isabella fades from the dream world she gradually regains consciousness, though the sight of a boy hovering above her is enough to make her cry out in surprise and instinctively move away from him which lands her right on top of Grace. Her face flushes a deep red before she cries out in shock this time and leaps to one side again, this time between the two.

"My book!" She calls out quickly, suddenly remembering what she had done earlier in the fight. Moving her head around frantically to look for her sketchbook Isa quickly locates it. Scrambling to her feet she rushes to pick it up and hides it back in her bag. She then realises that the fight had ended. "I take it we won?" Isabella asks quietly as she makes her way back to Grace and the new boy.

If anyone was keeping an eye on Art's body they'd notice that it was slowly taking on more of a grey hue, as if putting his body in stasis did nothing to halt whatever was currently destroying his body.

Siphon shook his head in amazement.

"There was nothing there a moment ago, how the ... never mind."

He quickly began to set to work on repairing the other woman's body, now that it was clear she really was still alive.

Aya started to reply, then halted as she saw Art's body.

"Uh ... is he supposed to be turning grey like that?"

Siphon had heard this, and spared a quick glance.

"Son of a ... Goddammit where the hell is Coraxus!"

Siphon had to bite back a remark, which was unusual to his mind, and thus took a longer moment than normal.

"The situation is this, whatever that THING was inside of him, it left a nice little going away present that's killing Art. Furthermore, I can't do a god damn thing about it, he's dying and I can't help him. I think you'd best get his parents here, and soon, because I'm not going to be able to keep this up much longer with repairing him, frankly, I've done all I can for him. And ... after this young woman is back on her feet ... I'll be vanishing for a little while. Don't ask why."

"Leaving present?"

Corax stands over Art and views the damage being caused.

"No... he- Charles, whatever his name was, he didn't do this. Dammit Art, did you take your medicine?"

"This is an anima based illness Art's had since he was young. If he doesn't suppress it, it'll destroy his body. This is beyond what we can handle. We have to get hold of his parents."

Corax holds up his hand, and Art's phone flies out of one of his pockets.

"If only we'd had this earlier. Doesn't seem damaged. I'll get them over here."

Corax moves off to a quieter area to phone Art's parents.

Re: School Courtyard

Grace's words get cut off as Isabella leaps back into her, but beams happily as she catches her, somewhat surprised to see her move so quickly after that ordeal. She almost hugs her in celebration, but wonders if it might just break her again as Isabella jumps away once more. "Your alive!" She exclaims, then turning to Aloysius, "...and your a hero!".

She motions to the sketch book, but Isabella seemed to have spotted it. "Yeah, we won. We kicked his ass. Except I'm not sure if that girls gonna be as lucky as you." Grace says looking over to Yume now. She hadn't been paying attention to what Ian had been saying. "And you were right the evil bastard was Art, except I don't think he really was, and I'm so confused."

Ellisia can't detect Charles anywhere. She was still far too inexperienced in detection to properly track a self aware free spirit. She walks over to the spot she threw her sword case aside and retrieves it to sheathe the blade. She notices yet another new figure (Mîrchell) lurking not far from her room mate, who she was glad didn't get hurt in this, but only watches them for now. She goes to stand near the unfamiliar fallen girl to see whether anything could be done for her, though leaves those tending for her plenty of space.
