Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

"No it's not like this ever. Like I said though, the place is over two hundred years old and the previous owner didn't exactly keep this place up to date, so there's probably a blasted frayed wire or something somewhere. I'm sure it's nothing major that can't be fixed with an hour or so checking the wires. Now ... let's head back up to the main room and get anyone else who may have decided to show up, and show you your rooms shall we?"

"Works for me. The sooner we get out of the soddin' loony bin here, the better!" Sarah said, feeling she was speaking for most of the room.

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

"Right, and you'll all want a nice rest before your first assignment tomorrow I'm sure. Follow me, we'll get anyone else, then take the freight elevator up to Leena's Bed and Breakfast, which is where you'll be roomed. I think all of you will get along with her well enough."

He leads them up to the main room, gathering anyone who wasn't on the tour group and then they take the freight there.

Said freight was more of a side scrolling elevator than an up and down, but it traveled fast enough. Soon they had reached another eye scan door, which Chris opened by looking into, and led them inside a new place.

((Dear godz, why is it that the busiest time of the day are when i'm sleeping? XD))

Ellen stayed quiet through the entire power outage, as well as over to the Bed & Breakfast. She did have a question, but she figured it was better to ask it of Sean than Leena for the time being.

((I'm a moron, the Bed and Breakfast needs to be it's own thread, moving Leena's words to a new thread.))

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

Chris and Ellen soon arrived back at the Warehouse, and it wasn't long after that before they were standing outside in the beautiful South Dakota sunset.

Chris stood for a few moments before speaking to Ellen. "So, how much of a jogger are you? We've got about twenty minutes before the football comes back, so some time to spare. Either way, tell me a bit about yourself if you would. I'm trying to piece together slowly why Ms. Frederick brought so many people in suddenly. Not that I mind, mind you, it's good to have some people around it's just .... I always get a bit .... nervous when new faces join. Worried for their safety. Too often people don't take this place seriously enough and get themselves in deep shit."

Once more he'd stopped to view that picture, which she would be able to see clearly, before tucking it away, the same look on his face from earlier.

"I should be able to keep up. And there isn't much to tell, really." Ellen states, pulling her hood a bit tighter and making a point to look anywhere but west. Without asking, she immediately set off at a slow jog, aiming to the north or south, whichever way wasn't blocked by the building. "I'm a survival expert, both urban and wilderness, but I don't see how that would come in handy. I'm alright with a gun, but not exceptional. Good grasp of history, but there would be many out there that would be easier to find." She says, then after a pause, speaks up again. "She's dead, isn't she?"

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

He was silent for a few moments as they ran, likely thinking back about the woman. Finally he nodded.

"Believed to be. Long story short, she and I were very close six years ago. We were tracking down a member of the corporation that originally started producing bio-weapons, a man named Albert Wesker. One night we got a tip that led us to the head honcho and founder of the corporation, so we set out to meet with him, hoping he could shed some light on Wesker's whereabouts. We got there too late, Wesker had already killed him and was leaving when we arrived. A fight ensued, and .... She slammed into him to save me, and her momentum carried them out a window, dropping over seven hundred feet to a rocky shore line. We never did find either of their bodies, always believed they were washed out to sea that night, rough seas and all."

He didn't say anything of her earlier comment, and she might get the impression this was the first time he'd ever spoken about what had happened that night to anyone, save for possibly Ms. Frederick, if even her.

Their jog was interrupted by a beeping from Chris's watch. Looking down he muttered, "ah shit, it's early."

Just then Ellen could see something that looked like a football hurtling towards her at incredible speed, likely that football she'd seen thrown earlier. One moment she was preparing to catch it, the next ....

A flash of flesh moved in front of her, grabbing the ball in one hand. It would take her a moment to realize that flash had been Chris himself, moving at a speed that would likely be far superior to what she was capable of producing. Let alone he'd crossed a good dozen or so yards to catch that ball a few feet in front of her, and had done it in less than a second.

With an annoyed sound he added, "damn thing. Six years here and I still can't time it precisely. Ah well, back around the world you go."

He then proceeded to hurl the ball as hard as he could, and said ball vanished much faster than when Sean had tossed it earlier. In fact, Ellen could hear the rush of air as it was thrown, despite it being tossed several feet away from her ears in the opposite direction.

"So .... where were we?"

He didn't seem to realize he'd just quite literally blown his 'cover' right in front of her, either that or he simply felt he could trust her already with it.

Ellen's eye's widened as she watched. She had been capable of bursts like that once, but not any longer. Cursing the circumstantes that led her here once again, she instead replied to Chris with another question. "What are you? Did you get a hold of the same artifact Sean did?" She asked bluntly.

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

Chris opened his mouth to say something before it suddenly hit him why she'd asked. Shit, he'd just used his power right under her nose, of course she'd have noticed, Ms. Frederick wouldn't have even spoken to her otherwise.

There was a slight pause, and he finally sighed, slowing to a stop.

"Well as you've probably guessed, no longer human."

He paused to remove his shades, and in the near dark conditions she could view his glowing red eyes. Unlike Sean's though, they didn't flicker or wane, or even die out. They remained a solid red, and never changed.

"Six years ago, a week or so after Wesker and ... Allison were killed.... I was exposed briefly to a manufactured virus. I slowly began to change, developing strange powers. It took me some time to fully grasp I'd become, in a way, a viral weapon myself. Sean is ... unaware of exactly what happened to me, as am I with regards to him."

He was silent again for several moments before continuing on.

Four years ago, during the MA-121 incident in Europe, a bunch of people who were working here were sent in to clean up what we thought was a minor viral spill. Instead it was a terrorist trap, designed to test their new B.O.W's. One person survived long enough to report back in before dying. I personally went in and dealt with the weapons, and the terrorists responsible for them. As a direct result of that, I discovered the true nature of my abilities, and began focusing on strengthening them. Do you understand now why I almost always wear these shades?"

He looked directly at her, the look on his face suggesting that, even after all this time, he too hadn't gotten used to seeing them in the mirror.

"It's not exactly something I .... share freely with others. In fact, your the only one now who truly knows pretty much all there is to know about me. Lucky you. Now, let me guess, given what little I do know about Sean's changes, I'm guessing your one of the undead yourself?"

"From what Sean's told me, the artifact that changed him no longer exists. How could I have also been affected by it?" She asked, taking in his previous explanations with a nod.

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

He smiled slightly. "You weren't affected by an artifact. You didn't even know of their existence before today. Your good at hiding most thoughts, but you couldn't hide the wonder about what these things are capable of earlier from me. If you'd been affected by one, you'd know what they could do, therefore you'd show no surprise, or a false surprise to them. Yours was genuine."

His eyes softened slightly before he added, "so tell me Ellen, how long for you has it been?"

However he'd drawn the conclusion, it was clear on one thing. He was a hell of a lot smarter and faster learner than one would think.

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

Ellen's brow furrowed a bit, more in confusion than anything else. "Doesn't that support the fact that I'm not undead?" She asked. "If the artifacts' existence surprised me, then it would be impossible for me to have been exposed to one before, shouldn't it?"

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

The grin on his face suggested that her reply had only confirmed something.

"True, it would support you hadn't been changed by an ARTIFACT. However, there are other ways of becoming inhuman besides those. Remember, I fought Wesker up close and personal, and he basically was around the same in abilities as I am now. Only in that particular instance I got my ass kicked half way to the moon."

A grimace and then he continues. "There's that plus I've encountered other undead before, created through other less .... pleasant methods. Couple that with the fact undead are the only things Leena can't read an aura on, which I might add she couldn't with you and well .... Need I say more?"

Instead of appearing to be angry, he seemed amused by her attempt to dodge things. "Don't worry, you can tell the others yourself if you choose to, just remember, I'd appreciate the same secrecy."

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

Ellen laughed out loud, the sound seeming like a release for her. When she spoke, her tome belied respect. "I'm impressed, I truly am." She said. "Though if I hadn't been weakened, I would have a mortal's aura. You got me though, and yes, I'd prefer to keep it a secret, I'll of course do the same for you." She said, starting to jog again.

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

Now it was his turn to be impressed. "I hadn't believed it was possible for the undead to appear with a mortal's aura to an aura reader, interesting."

He nods, a mutual understanding between the two of them now. As they started up again he spoke once more.

"So, mind if I ask what happened, or how long you've been that way? It's fine to say no, though I admit, I'd like to know something more if I'm to be working along side you, as I'm sure you would as well."

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

"Very few can do it." She says slowly, her gaze drifting upwards. "I'm still not exactly sure how it was done, but a rival found a way to steal them from me, would probably be the best way to describe it. I was lucky to escape with my life. That was... About twenty years ago now, and I've been incognito ever since. You can imagine my surprise when your Ms. Frederick came up and seemed to know me." She said, chuckling

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

He nods. "Ah yes, I can. She has a strange way of showing up where you least expect her to, and well .... she's been around a long time."

He pulls out a very old photograph, showing a woman looking very much like Ms. Frederick and points to the date captioned below. It read, shockingly, 'December 16th, 1899'.

"And before you ask, no as near as I can tell she's not undead, and yes that's her in the photo. I have no idea what she is, only that she hasn't aged in at LEAST a hundred or so years."

He thinks a moment then adds, "so this rival, he hasn't tried seeking you out again? Course, if he does, now he'll have to go through me too."

Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)

"One way comes to my mind. Tell me, is she incredibly loyal to any one person?" She asked. "As for the rival, I managed to fake a rather compelling death a few years ago, but I've remained cautious. With one glaring exception, I haven't been found unless I've wanted to be found these past twenty years."
