Re: Warehouse 13 (External and Internal)
Chris opened his mouth to say something before it suddenly hit him why she'd asked. Shit, he'd just used his power right under her nose, of course she'd have noticed, Ms. Frederick wouldn't have even spoken to her otherwise.
There was a slight pause, and he finally sighed, slowing to a stop.
"Well as you've probably guessed, no longer human."
He paused to remove his shades, and in the near dark conditions she could view his glowing red eyes. Unlike Sean's though, they didn't flicker or wane, or even die out. They remained a solid red, and never changed.
"Six years ago, a week or so after Wesker and ... Allison were killed.... I was exposed briefly to a manufactured virus. I slowly began to change, developing strange powers. It took me some time to fully grasp I'd become, in a way, a viral weapon myself. Sean is ... unaware of exactly what happened to me, as am I with regards to him."
He was silent again for several moments before continuing on.
Four years ago, during the MA-121 incident in Europe, a bunch of people who were working here were sent in to clean up what we thought was a minor viral spill. Instead it was a terrorist trap, designed to test their new B.O.W's. One person survived long enough to report back in before dying. I personally went in and dealt with the weapons, and the terrorists responsible for them. As a direct result of that, I discovered the true nature of my abilities, and began focusing on strengthening them. Do you understand now why I almost always wear these shades?"
He looked directly at her, the look on his face suggesting that, even after all this time, he too hadn't gotten used to seeing them in the mirror.
"It's not exactly something I .... share freely with others. In fact, your the only one now who truly knows pretty much all there is to know about me. Lucky you. Now, let me guess, given what little I do know about Sean's changes, I'm guessing your one of the undead yourself?"
