Changed the price of sealing collars in ye item shop and did the split of ye ritual into Craft Sealing Collar and Seal Spirit as Haf recommended. Changed the price and power of grenades. Added obedience collars.

Edit: Buffs that increase melee damage should increase it for throwing weapons as well, because strength increase, so for now consider them treated as if they gave half their bonus to such weapons.

Welp, it seems possible that either myself, or prospective newcomer Mads will GM for ye oni trio. That's being worked out and will receive updates shortly.

On another note, I already want to implement ye proscribed changes to attack and dodge that I told myself would be waiting for DG4, and also need to figure out better formulas for Speed, Perception, and Stealth. God damn square roots. (No offense thetwo, they work just fine, buuuuuut they are not pleasant to look upon or have to do.)

I still say you should get a baseline of like 10-20 or so and just tack on like Body/4 for Speed or whatever.

/has not spent any time thinking this proposal for balance or anything also.

It was too easy to get a dodge that made you literally unhittable and/or an attack bonus that made you unable to miss. The new concept makes that more or less impossible.

I still say you should get a baseline of like 10-20 or so and just tack on like Body/4 for Speed or whatever.
One possible replacement for the square root functions is a piecewise linear "curve". Something like this:

"For body between 0 and 10, Speed = Body"
"For body between 12 and 20, Speed = 10 + (Body - 10) / 2"
"For body between 22 and 60, Speed = 15 + (Body - 20) / 4"
"For body 62 and up, speed = 25 + (Body - 60) / 6"

That would give you:

Body = Speed = OldSpeed
0 = 0 = 0
6 = 6 = 8
10 = 10 = 10
16 = 13 = 13
20 = 15 = 14
26 = 17 = 16
30 = 18 = 17
40 = 20 = 20
60 = 25 = 24
100 = 32 = 32
150 = 40 = 39

The formula is... much messier than the square root, IMO. But the actual math is easier, and it's a very close approximation of a square root up past Body = 100 with the four "steps" I've listed here. You can also use fewer steps for a simpler formula but less accurate approximation of the square root. Of course, maybe you don't even want to approximate a square root.

Edit: You can clean those formulas up slightly at the cost of hiding how I determined them. Also, where the formulas "overlap" they return the same result.

[0-10] = Body
(10-20] = (Body + 10) / 2
(20-60] = (Body + 40) / 4
(60-inf) = (Body + 90) / 6

A couple ideas for additional stuff to help counter characters with excessive dodge and no other combat skills:

General skill, most likely. Pretty much just to give warriors a counter to characters who have a bunch of dodge but don't really have the armor, HP, and damage to fight without that dodge.

Pressure - Whenever the character misses, they gain a +4 bonus to attack. This is cumulative and lasts until they next successfully hit a target. At +8 and above, they may choose to sacrifice two stacks of their attack bonus in order to make an attack that automatically hits their target, but they deal no weapon damage on the attack and instead cause the target to begin taking 2d6 bleed damage per round until they receive healing or spent an full round action to bandage themselves. Additional applications of the bleeding attack cause the damage dice to be moved up a step, capping out at 12, and applications beyond that add one extra die. At +16 the character may sacrifice four stacks of this bonus in order to ignore AV. At +20 the character may sacrifice five stacks of this bonus in order to deal double damage on their next swing.

For more general purpose: potentially add the ability to automatically hit on the next attack to Scrying in a manner similar to the automatic dodge that's already there. Maybe 8 EP and a move action in order to hit the next attack made (not all in a round or it'd be absurd with flurry of blows)

So. While no one asked for it, I plan on changing how quickly corruption works. Essentially, instead of the 100 to reach the next mutation, it's 100 times how many mutations you'd have. So, the first one requires 100, the second 200, the third 300, etc. Questions or comments?

It's already naturally capped by Warped/Supernatural/Corruptive at 18 mutations, so 1800 corruption to get your last one.

Is there going to be any change to the rate at which corruption is received? I just quickly added up the total you will need to hit the 18 mutation cap, and it's gone from 1'800, to 17'100.

I like the general feel of the new method, but it's worth pointing out that it is a pretty drastically slower than the traditional system. 9.5 times slower even, if assuming the full journey.

There will be no change in how quickly it's received. It's slower because it's supposed to be slower.
