Thump. "Help?" Drag, thump, crash, clang. "Me?" Thump, clang, and Nillien feels something clip against her toe, whatever the cadaver had knocked off of the shelves most likely. "Leave?" Drag, thump.

She could feel its progress across the room, each step bringing it closer to her, though she couldn't see it in the pitch black. "How?"

I-I don't know, I was thinking y-you might have an idea of w-why you're still here. C-could it b-be the dagger in your ch-chest? Nillien replies, somewhat unnerved by the moving corpse.

The corpse took another step, which preempted a series of crashes as most of one shelves contents spilled over onto it. It didn't seem to care, however; "Dagger? No....... Pain..... Death...... Revenge.... Must.... Revenge......... Pain....."

Revenge against who? I don't think there's anyone from the town still alive... Nillien says to the corpse, wondering how she could help it and therefore get away from it.

Against her better judgment, Nillien decides to try and give the ghost a little more energy so that it can speak better. Moving up to the corpse and squeamishly placing her hand against it, she lets a small amount of her spiritual energy flow into the creature to merge with its being.

As soon as her spirit comes into contact with the corpse, Nillien blacks out, and awakens into a clear, empty, lighted void. She feels weightless, and as she looks around, she spots the corpse, or what the corpse had looked like in life. He stared at her, floating a few feet away, and didn't say anything. Apparently, he was just as confused as she.

This is... odd... um... Hello again? Nillien, says?, to the spirit as she sends out feelers of her energy in multiple directions as she tries to figure out where she is.

The spirit silently mouths; "Hello." Which comes to her as though it were an echo a moment later. Nillien found that this place was completely empty save for herself and the ghost boy. "Who are you?" The boy mouths, which again came as an echo a moment later.

Well, maybe there's something in here that might be linked to why you're stuck? Nillien suggests as she extends her spiritual senses out again, feeling for any sort of irregularity in the emptiness.

She can't feel anything except the spirit of the young man, and Nillien suddenly realizes that this was a sort of communication between their two spirits, rather than a physical place.

"Here? Where is here?"

I'm not entirely sure, it may just be the link that lets me talk to you, or it could be inside of you. All I know is that when I touched what I think is your body and let some of my energies seep into you, I ended up here. I don't suppose you have an idea of why you can't move on to the next life? If it's against another person, then they're probably already dead. Demons invaded the town after you died, and I haven't met any who survived... or at least survived with their minds and bodies still their own.

Who still lives? So far, all I've encountered has been demons and demons masquerading as humans. Nillien replies as she tries to make sense of what the man is saying.
