well, obviously. it's not like i'm trying to install it. i'm just saying, it's not letting me extract when i'm going one-at-a-time, since I'm not a premium user and can't parallel download them all at the same time. do you mean that I have to get them all downloaded before I start extracting any of them to a folder?
i've just now tried it again from a different source, and now it says that it's encountered an improper arguement. Am I doing something wrong, or is the fact that I have a Vista screwing me up?

Yes you need them all first and from the same source, cause if dont the checksume is wrong.
Than you need to extract them together (select all files) then it schould be working. It is possible that you need to have your regional settings to japanese to extract it right.

out of curiosity, how much is the total GB of Sengoku rance? I'm asking because I want to know if this site or the site i'm downloading has the full deal.

You need 1gb free plus 60mb English patch
Btw does anyone know how to burn or mount mdf file? I download 'Yosuga no Sora' but can't mount the game, both Daemon nor Imgburn don,t work.

OOOOOH!!! Brain blast! it doesn't matter if the others don't have anything in them, because you're not supposed to download seperately from them all like you do with freeware! it's like a regular CD game, because it IS a CD game! you download from the file in the first part once everything is put together!!
god, things suddenly make SENSE. it's amazing what caffeine will do for your logic. there's my lesson not to compare downloading other games to how Slave Maker downloaded. so, while i'm riding high off of that epiphany, explain to me what i'm supposed to do to get english. I download when everything is still in japanese, and then once that's fully installed, I Install it again using the english patch? did I get that right?

Download->install it->install the patch also you need to set your computer location to Japan.
It's been 2 hour guess ya already figured that out

god damn, this game is addicting. it's almost gotten to the point where i'm playing for the gameplay and not for the hentai! shocking, I know, but true.
does anybody know if there's a sequel to this, or if they're even making one? I mean, sill's still up in the air, so, there's definite room for some closure...

Almost? I stopped playing for the hentai ages ago. It's possible I never really was...

And I'd imagine they'll do a Rance 8 at some point. It is a long running series after all.

well, bear in mind that I only downloaded this, what, three days ago? i'm only just now coming to the end of the first playthrough, so I haven't even gotten around to the rest of the goodies in store.
so, not even rumors, huh? oh, well.

I am not playing it for the hentai parts too ^^ or not anymore.
I am trying to get so much points to unlock evenry thing for a new game and beat the hardest playthrough.

I think just for takaeda i need to play a normal difficult cause they are way too strong xD
There are other games that interest me too, without the hentai part but i need a translation to enjoythe games cause the translationprogramms read like shit on them.
A lot of text is in button and pictures too. Impossible too read for translators.
Games like: Dancing Crazies, Brown Doori Sanbanme, Wizards Climber, Sudzukuri Dragon, Dungeon Meister and Mine futago...whatever it was called.

Back to Rance, i hope for Rance 8 ^^

umm, I don't know if this is just me being overwhelmingly ignorant or not, but given the fact that it's happened many times now, I think it might be a glitch. has anybody ever had it happen to them where one of their characters will suddenly die, after a battle that they didn't die in? 'cause that just happened to ranmaru, and I haven't saved for a good twenty turns....

There are 3 possibilities, 1 on and thats the most possible, you reached your 30 commander and got a 31 commander.
Now the 1. commander after rance will be removed (thats ranmaru if you dont changed the slots)
2. possibility is that on of the shimazu commander is fallen in love with ranmaru and joined with her (+1000 troops for shimazu unit)
and last is if you are at war with shimazu, they randomly take female commanders from you, so they just disapear and may fight you on the shimazu side.

none of those happened, mainly because I wasn't at war with shimazu. I can see where you'd be coming from with the 30 commander, but I still had a good five slots open. the last time this happened, it yanked away Yamamoto and Nozomi, so, maybe it has something to do with characters with interactions?

As I said, I've never had anything like this happen.

If it had been Leila, and you had been fighting Demon army, that would be the only instance I can think of; and that's an incredible dick move hardwired event.

question! if you're fighting the youkai army, and you defeat one of masamune's wives, but don't capture them, are they gone for the rest of the game, or willl they show up again? because I defeated Nogiku and didn't capture her, and she hasn't shown up again afterwards. I'm wondering if this is just coincidence or if i've pulled her from the game. also, the wiki says you need kazemaru with hiibachi as a subcaptain. does he need to be in the same battle, or is it okay for him to just be in your party?

They keep showing up. And... I think it's just in the army, but it might be in the battle. It's been a while since I did that.

bigger question! how in the nine blue layers of hell are you supposed to defeat orochi!? I just took a swing at him, and I was only able to get him down to about half his life before I ran out of flags! does anybody have any special techniques for fighting him?

For starters, you basically want to dedicate a run to the goal of defeating him.

Have an average party out when you first engage, because his opening attack is nasty, and then swap in your A team after they die/run out of flags.

I've found that ninjas are a good choice for switchers, because they often get their turn again instantly.

You want a variety of high level characters. So use items to level up Rance often, clear every other dungeon, grind Kentarou up to level 99 by throwing him against Apostle Suzaku repetivly. Kenshin and Uruza are other great high level characters.

That's the general tips I have, I haven't tried to do this myself yet so I cannot give more.

grind him against suzaku? but he's never an option when going against suzaku. you can grind him on suzaku?
speaking of kentarou, am I the only one here who hates the little bastard and miki? he's a frickin' goody two-shoes kill-steal who always makes anything he touches go balls-up, and miki... well, SILL! the worst part about them, though, is how everybody seems to like them and enjoy them. except for chaos, which makes him go up about a bajillion points in my book.
am I the only one who thinks this way?

Eh, I just kinda politely ignore him.

If he's already become a demon, which he should in true route, before Suzaku appears, he should be one of the top options. The pair fight all day and night to a draw and he gains 3 levels.
