We are talking about regional settings and key configuration, not the main game. Some of the keys like jkl just don't work in some regional settings.

oh. so why can't up arrow be set for jump? even if I finally got use to C up arrow still should be the jump button.

I don't know, not used to up arrow be set for jump in any Castlevania games.

My own configure:
Attack 1: T
Attack 2: G
Dash: D
Jump: F
Item: Y
Special: B
Pause: P
Heal/Absorb: H
Left - Right - Up - Down: J - L - I - K
I think you should adjust the controls to a button that do not perform two functions. Because if so, the game will not recognize this button should perform what functions, and that button will not response. Trust me, I adjusted on my own, and it worked well!

I think the key configuration is still incomplete, some the keys do not response. I changed my keys several times because of that, and this is my final settings:

Up: W
Down: S
Left: A
Right: D
Attack1: N
Jump: M
Attack2: ,
Dash: .
Item: E
Special: Q
Absorb: H
Pause: B

PS: J, K, L also don't work

Some keys do not response because you adjusted the button that perform two functions. Specific, Default: S - Special; A - Item. On you own: S - Down; A - Left.

hmmmm?? No, that is not the cause. Whatever you set for other keys, J-special and K-item just don't work.

Odd...I can run the game w/o switching to jap region settings (or using Applocale like I usually do.)

Maybe my rig is just wierd.

You only need AppLocale on post-WinXP (Vista and Win7) operating systems because an application is using legacy APIs and not Unicode APIs. If application is using Unicode APIs, then AppLocale is not required. That's why when you download AppLocale, it states that you don't need it for Vista or Win7.

He'll be raped by a female monster, but there's no male childbirth, I guess.

Don't know about the main male character, but for the NPCs, if you let the male get raped long enough, they'll get their life suck dry and turn into zombie (that seem to regenerate and like to grab onto you, so they're somewhat of a pain to deal with)

If the human female NPCs get raped by female monsters, they turn into zombies too. Humans raping humans doesn't do much except make the scene look goofy... am I the only one who thinks it's a bit silly that that your fellow NPCs proceed to rape their half-conscious foes?

If the human female NPCs get raped by female monsters, they turn into zombies too. Humans raping humans doesn't do much except make the scene look goofy... am I the only one who thinks it's a bit silly that that your fellow NPCs proceed to rape their half-conscious foes?

Well, it's war, and I highly doubt one side is super goody-good while the other is a pure evil faction. Both side probably have their fair share of rapists.

Well, that's the only way to heal, absorbing life force from the others. So, I think it is not a big deal in that world.

However, one question here, why don't they change to brute mode after absorbing that much?

Because the purity. There are 5 level (I -> V), level I is the highest and level V is the lowest of purity. Level V -> IV, you only have absorb command (brute mode). Level IV -> II, you have both absorb and heal command. Level II -> Level I, you only have heal command.
So if you want to change brute mode, you absorb the one is laying on the ground (monster or human - if you change "save" -> "kill" command in menu) when your purity are from level II or lower or the shadow ball (appear randomly on the map) - with an eye on it - suck your soul. Both way will decrease your purity and if your purity reach level IV or lower, you will be changed to brute mode. In brute mode, only monster can change "save" <-> "kill" command in menu, and the others only have "kill" command.

... and it is only the male NPCs that are doing that. Why not female NPCs do it as well? What about girl x girl action?

Actually they do. Leave the eye alone for a while and watch, they'll go crazy and formerly allied ones'll start attacking you.

Are you talking about the shadow eye, right? Not only allies attack you but also decrease your purity, and if your purity reach level IV or lower, you will be changed to brute mode.

It does corrupt you, but only an itty bitty bit. It's easy to miss since getting corrupted in the first one was much, much faster.
