Re: What made you feel giddy today?

Yeah, I still remember that week Cappy first joined and when he asked what I was I told him to flip a coin and it came up female. Granted, that was mostly funny too because everyone else around was in on the joke, and we only kept it up for a few days. That's just my style of joke too, because *I* never said anything that was untrue, I just never said anything at all in regards to it.

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

So, one of the artists that I follow on Deviant Art recently announced that they were setting up a Facebook page, so I, being a fan, friended them, mostly for update information and the like. Other pertinent information, is a tame example of Silence's work. (NSFW)

While this is going on, CB and I are working on my new character for our Changeling game, who happens to be tumbling (quite willingly) into the BDSM scene.

So I'm home on my lunch break, puttering around on FB, letting it do it's thing while at the same time, I'm working on a story for my little submissive that's been crawling around in my head about one of his training sessions. I hear the FB chat noise chime and I think it's the CB. I pop over and it's actually Silence, just sort of introducing themselves/checking to see why I friended them. Little polite chatters.

Just amused the hell out of me that I'm sitting there, working on the BDSM story and I'm talking to the BDSM artist. Not quite an Inception moment, but it amused me to no end.

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

(Been a week.)

So, 7pm my time, madre, her bf, CB, and I are just sitting down to dinner when the phone rings. Madre gets up to get it and I'm like "I got it" to a chorus of "Oh gods" around the table. Caller ID is a great thing and it's "Unknown caller," which *usually* means telemarketer. So I answer the phone with "Whadda ya want?" I hear this nervous giggle and then a click. So either I killed a wannabe prank call or I got a newbie telemarketer that needs to learn the tricks of her trade.

Either way, I was amused.

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

Well, the continuing process of getting our recent family addition, a primarily English Shepard named, oddly enough, Shadow used to and comfortable around me has shown some major progress over the past couple of days.

He didn't cower from me this morning when I went in to give him some attention, and he actually licked my wrist when I was giving him some attention yesterday. It's taken over a year, and I'd be inclined to say that there's still a ways to go yet, but...

Rather significant, since he was rescued as pup from an abusive owner. And there's been signs along the way that have lead us to believe that I bear just enough physical resemblance to that person to remind Shadow of them, so I've always expected slow progress.

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

So, went to commit thread necromancy now I had a bit more time to myself, but when trying to update the old as crap CYOAS I worked on, I had another entirely different idea digging into my cerebral matter. And it wouldn't bloody go away.

So ditching the CYOAS work for a sec, I decide to scrawl the ideas relating to this stuff down on a word doc before they entirely vacate my brain, before remembering that somewhere around here I got some notes relating to it somewhere already. Digging through my craphuge pile of notebooks, no dice, so I unbury the file box I have of various drawings, doodles, and concepts from before.

And then I start finding the contents of these folders, so many of my random scraps ranging from trash to some pretty good work, and so much nostalgia was had. Probably will be chucking some to ze devientart eventually.

Good times had by all. And by all I mean me.

...I'm such a lonely sod ;-;

Good to hear, Wolf! Keep going with him. He'll warm up, you'll see.

And Lurker, nothing wrong with taking a stroll down memory lane of creative endeavors. This is why I usually have to have someone with me when I'm cleaning to keep me from getting to sidetracked *laughs*

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

That's great news ShadowWolf! Baby steps are always good. :)

But... I must be really tired because for some reason when I read "English Shepard," this is what I thought:

So the rest of the post became a very interesting image!

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

Double, but it's been at least a week...

So, last Sunday, we got a Dancing Santa item in at work. Slight humorous problem: While it's supposed to look like he's doing the "Gangnam Style" dance... The hands seem to be positioned somewhat wrong. Looks like he's doing something else entirely.

Anyway, last night just before the beginning of the shift, I actually decided to purchase one of these "Dancing" Santas. Will be looking into recording a video to upload and show to the forum, since I find it lulzy. And I wouldn't be surprised to find out I'm not the only one.

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

My workload of a few days has lead to a VAT refund of over € 6,000 for a married couple that is in desperate need of money. Of course, the reason they paid too much tax is that they didn't give us their books for more than half a year, but still. It puts my work into perspective. Makes it less mind-numbing. Motivating.

Also, my QC "Evolution Kills" t-shirt arrived today. Nice bonus.

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

my work has been pretty busy lately which is why i haven't been posting much. it turns out working all day every day doesn't leave much time for post worthy developments... however something fun happened recently. We've been in talks with a certain well known games company, known almost entirely for their first and third person shooters, who are going to let us play with a free version of their upcoming engine, which means makes us really start to feel legitimate.

Also i can't talk about the actual company or engine because NDA's were signed. hell we aren't even allowed to publicly display the output until we get the license agreements.

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

So I have had a katana for a long while now; practiced with it often and self-taught me a good number of skills and styles. Not too long ago, the handle broke; it was made out of cheap plastic modeled to resemble a sting ray's skin, and the tang didn't even reach the end. So I decided to model it and personalize the whole katana, and damm is it looking good.

It's got the best steel that I have ever worked with and is now sharp as all hell. For the handle I used a really special kind of wood that lasts for thousands of years and wrapped it round another special kind of string/cord: best grip EVAH!
Only thing left for me to do is give it the final sharpening AND apply the blade a really light acid which will darken it and make it look epic, but mostly it will prevent it from all rust.

I'm really happy on how it's shaping up, and hopefully it will be finished before Christmas :D

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

I just got the 11th and last green rep bar. Something one shouldn't be proud or make a big deal out of, yet it somehow made me feel important. Thanks to all the people that +repped me before; you're all awesome :D

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

So, one of my characters on Lord of the Rings Online got pretty much an entire level off of experience from crafting...

...booze, and large amounts of it. This amuses me.

CORRECTION: Two levels. That's even funnier. That's also a bunch of booze.

That is a lot of booze.

What made me feel giddy is finally finding something out for a game that pertains to fanfic writing *laughs* Poking around on a characters wiki and had a longtime question answered about them. Just...really helps *laughs* It's the little things.
