I'm digging for diamonds and ocassionally chopping some trees to make torches. I just need to set up shop somewhere. Can anyone tell me how to do that, as well as how to lock chests?
I want to put forth a community project: Many Large Statues of Women. We can easily get all the cobblestone while I'm looking for diamonds, and the coal to turn it all into smooth stone can be gotten from my torch production industry.

You make a shop by first making a chest and putting an amount of the stuff you want to sell in the shop per transaction in the chest, then make a sign with the syntax:
[Buy]
(anything)
(anything)
(amount for each transaction)
Then, whack the sign with a redstone dust, run back to the chest, whack it with redstone dust. You should get a message confirming it. Then stock the chest up. Should work with double chests too.
Locking is very simple, just whack a chest with a stick.
As for the proposed group project... Pretty sure that statue was done with the kinect plugin that was mentioned a while ago. I'm not going to take part in the statue building simply because it doesn't interest me, but by all means, go for it.

There's cobble and bonemeal both for sale in my shop, has been practically since i made it. If there's a demand for torches, i can put those up as well, i have many stacks of coal and wood currently.

The portal to the Skylands is now operational! It's where the old fountain was in front of the marketplace. Just drop in the hole and up you go. Be careful with your aim though...
Dropping into the void will return you to the real world... but you might want to have some falling insurance.
I believe I mentioned the /fly command before... it's a few posts up.

Oni mentioned this on the server, but Maiko you should almost put all the commands and such for mods and the like on the first page so they can be easily found.

And yeah, putting all the commands on the front page would make it easier for everyone to find information for the mods we have running. That'll include stuff like links to each of the mods that we're running.

It's too easy to get lost in the caves system already beneath the Market, so I'm thinking getting some distance to find a fresh area would be best. I was thinking perhaps expand one of the subway tunnels so that rails could be put down and give me an easier time of going back and forth. Do the Rail Lords have a preferred direction, or can I just pick a direction and give it a whack?

Well, I will eventually need a rail line to my project, so aiming around x=0 and z= -4000 and heading in that direction will save us some time down the road (or down the rail, as it were )

mod looks pretty cool. Not sure if it has permissions though so you'd need to look into that if you decide to swap the other one for it. Basically it allows you to fly with a feather in your hand and you keep pressing the attack button to move around. Kind of like flapping your arms.

I got to about X+12,Z-100 where I ran into someone's underground project. So I turned left, found an explored cave, built a platform for the rail to about X+-0, then turned right started digging towards Z-4000.
There better be something there, because there's no diamonds at this depth.

Daimond is most common at depth 13-16. My suggestion would be to layermine at that depth if you truely want daimond that bad

I know how to mine diamond. I'm just letting Strife know that carving out the rail line to his place isn't getting me any diamonds, so I can't sustain the effort indefinitely.
Actually, I'm gonna stop it here, make a station and call it my place. This tunnel is fucking long, man.
Does every station have to be designed the same way?

The crucial part is the powered breaking/start moving again system, as well as the extra launch track featured in the main terminal. I can log in later to help set it up for ya.

Also, it's SHRIKE not STRIKE.
Anyway, I've finished the basics of my new house, now I can work on my tree farm again. Almost burnt the house down though, but thanks to Sin helping the fire was successfully put out. Had to repair most of the roof though. I'll probably get pics up of it tomorrow.

hehe, but i don't spend much time posting outside of my RPs, so despite how long i've been around, most people dont really know me that well. Also, it's the internet, meh.
You know, I could pay you in slimeballs. one slimeball every 100 blocks distance, total of around 40 of the wee green beasties. Finally managed to net myself more than I need for my project, so aside from setting up a shop for them, I been looking for ways to spread the love. interested? I'm gone for about a week starting tomorrow or the next day, but I'll pop on tonight and give you a destination to work towards.
EDIT: okay, built a small town at the destination. the stairwell down to where i'd like the rail station centers on x= -164 and z= -3686. What depth are the stations at again?

Completed the first quadrant of my tree farm, it houses fifty tree's. Looks like my farm is going to be twice the size I originally intended on having it.
