Re: Sandra (Archer)

Sandra hears a very bemused 'Huh?' from inside as she knocks on the door, the man from before walking up and opening the door slightly. "Who're you?" he asked, curiously. "And what're you doing all the way out in this forsaken place?"

"Well umm I'm Sandra and I'm a....monster......researcher! Right, I'm here to study monsters. I'd like to know more about these woods if you wouldn't mind kind sir. I'm a tad....lost." She giggles sleepishly and rubs the back of her neck with an embarassed look on her face.

Re: Sandra (Archer)

"A monster researcher? That sounds like...and odd profession." the man sort of sighs. "I don't know a thing about these woods, but people tend not to come out here so it makes a good home. And if you're lost well, I don't know what to say." He says this, as his face seems to argue with himself between agitation and the inbound desire in kindly olden type men to help others.

"Why don't you come inside for a bit at least? I've got some extra food I guess." He opens the door and invites her inside.

"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you sir, if you'd like I can trade you some rope for the food. Unfortunately it's all I have on hand at the moment except for my bow and I need that in case I run into something really dangerous..." Sandra tried to act as polite as she could even though this man was just a simulation.

Re: Sandra (Archer)

"No, no, it's fine" he said, muttering under his breath. "Sides it's not like it's hard to make more..."

Taking a careful look around the shack now, it seemed to be sparsely decorated, and she noticed the walls actually seemed to be made out of the dark packed dirt of the ground. She took another look around, spotting a closest with an open door, and a robe or two, and looking at the only other funishing aside from the bed, table, and chairs, it was a bookshelf, a large number of tomes resting on it.

The man was a wizard, obviously.

"I see you're a wizard....I'm guessing you wanted peace and quiet to study your craft without people constantly asking you to conjure stuff or use magic to fix everything.... May I ask your name master wizard?" She gives him a small smile.

"Well you are a sharp one, aren't you?" He says, a small grin coming to his face. "Yes, I am, what gave me away?" he said, half jokingly, half wondering.

"Well, fair enough, my name's Brandon. My parents were adventures a long time ago, and I had a knack for magic as it was, so I went off to study, and now here I am, getting away from people who just want me to magic this, and magic that."

Re: Sandra (Archer)

"Mainly all the books around. I know the feeling though, it's always "Sandra help me on this essay, Sandra help me do my homework..." She rolled her eyes, "It's nice to meet you though Brandon, I promise I'll be out of your hair shortly. Oh and you might actually like my rope, I got it from a rope demon! Though I think this piece is dead or....something." She opened her pack up and pulled out the rope she'd been given by the demon for cooperating with it.

The wizard chuckles a bit. "No, no, that's fine, though, from a rope demon? I guess it liked you." he says.

"Well, hang onto that rope, it can be useful, rope always can be, though...if it's really from a rope demon, you should be able to mentally control it." he says.

"Give it a shot" he suggests.

"Really?!" Sandra blushed after her geeky outburst of excitement, "Okay then.....I'll try...." She looked at the rope and took slow breaths trying to project the image of the rope coiling up her right leg and up her body like a snake ending with a few loose loops around her neck.

She found it was actually pretty easily, the rope respond just like she imagined it, Brandon raising an eyebrow at the odd positioning of the rope now. "So it is, I guess it did like you, ropes like that are pretty tough to come by you know, and it will only react to your thoughts."

Re: Sandra (Archer)

"Best demon present ever......And well I've discovered that rope demons are fairly docile if you don't react with violence. When I was actively fighting it, the retaliation was quite rough. When I stopped trying to hurt it, it was actually rather gentle and careful with me....." She blushed a moment before eeping as she realized the rope had started coiling around her body starting to imitate what she was remembering. "Oh boy....I'm going to have to be careful with that...." With her cheeks on fire she sent the rope back into her pack.......for later....

Brandon simply continued to chuckle. "Well, I've heard tale they actually tend to be gentle even when their victims have fought them all the way, it just tends to be in their nature I guess."

He sits down as he conjures up a tea platter, pouring her a glass of the hot tea. "Well, feel free to have some tea then, I guess I can answer any questions I can for you."

Re: Sandra (Archer)

Sandra sighs as she sips the tea, it was fake but it tasted and felt real enough. "Well I don't want to pry into something personal, I'd rather like to ask if there are any legends about the woods, strange creatures living in the dark shadows of it and generally the types of monsters that live here. It wouldn't be very good for my research if all I could find are slimes and tentacles, I mean everyone knows about those."

Re: Sandra (Archer)

"Legends? Not quite sure. They say that some sort of demon lives in a cave far in the center of the woods, though none have ever journeyed there and returned. Old tales mention it perhaps being like that of a rope demon? Though I know of no rope demons that have been around for so long. Only male adventurers have ever returned, and even then they couldn't remember what happened, and were stripped of all their gear. It's expected by now a treasure hoard awaits anyone who could find the lair and defeat the beast."

He gives a small shrug as he also conjured up a few snacks.

Sandra happily munches on a snack cookie, "Wow thats perfect for my research. Uncovering a mysterious demon none have ever escaped and told of..." Sandra gave a nerdy squeal of excitment at the adventure into the unknown. "Which direction would the center of the woods be exactly? I can't wait to investigate this mystery monster!"

He starts to point off in a rough direction before stopping. "Hold on." he said, going over to his shelf, picking up a book and looking through it.

He dug through a small chest under the bed, taking out a few items. Setting them on the table, he shushed her of any questions. After which he began what Sandra guessed was magic.

When he was done, an item very much like a compass existed. "Here, this will point you towards the cave, that way I don't have to give you directions and you won't get lost." he said, as if making this item was easier than that.

Re: Sandra (Archer)

Sandra carefully took the compass before hugging the wizard, "Thank you so much! You'll be the first to know what I find out I promise! Oh and I won't tell anyone you're out here so they won't bother you, oh and I'll take care of the magic compass!" She hugged him one more time before walking out the door, "Oh and if I find any magic stuff there I'll bring it to you!" She waved and giggled before looking down at her new compass, following where it pointed her to. "Best wizard gift ever."

He sort of blushed at the hug, and when she promised to come back and tell him, he stopped her for a moment, taking the compass back and doing a bit more, adding a button to the side. "I move around a lot, press this button to switch between finding my house and the cave, there's a little indicator to tel you which is which." He finished, before letting her leave.

"Of course, again thank you so much, I'll make sure you know more about monsters than any other wizard when I find out all about them." She smiled before walking off into the trees following her compass.
