Nice game.
There's also a doujin 2D fighting game Big Bang Beat that allows you to fight as one of the major characters. There's no H though. I can upload that if someone wants (you can always find some on hongfire)

My favorite? Karen, of course. Don't know how you can resist a tsundere blonde rich young lady, who somehow gives you 500 BP every time you H her(!?).
The SU theme is great too. That being said, all the BGMs were well done.

I'm downloading Great Empire (daiteikoku). Can't believe I almost missed it. With some *luck*, I may join in a translation project when it comes too.

That would be awesome Rin :p
I have figured out how to play that game but without story it's only half the fun.
If only my Japanese were better

Re: Daibanchou Big Bang Age

I love this Zanma guy. He's not nearly as a pervert as Rance was. Sure, he was hilarious, but all he wanted was sex. And every time you thought "Hey, maybe he does have a little bit of heart" it was ruined by some stupid scheme he had.

Zanma isn't like that at all. He's casual, and talks to people like most kids with an ego would. He comes off rather rough, but his tough attitude isn't for show, it's cause he KNOWS he's powerful. Confidence. Rance was just... a blockhead. I love how Zanma sticks up for people and gives them credit where credit is due. More of the hero that Rance should of been.

Edit: Screw this game. I get about lets see, 10 hours in and then next turn it robs me of all my bp, making it so I get an automatic game over. I've used other save file, but I'd have to get rid of my entire team to get all the bp I needed. Screw that. Game was fun while it lasted, but it just throws unexpected shit your way forcing you to start all over again. Uncool.

Re: Daibanchou Big Bang Age

Alright, just won the game.
Some scaps:

What i enjoyed the most:
1) The game system
2) The National Chapter
3) Conquering areas and fucking bitches
4) The amount of playable characters.
Special mentions:

5) How exp points are distributed and the possibility of upgrading your allies with BP so they don't lag behind, which allows you to prioritize your favorites even when they're naturally underpowered compared to other characters.

What i enjoyed the least:
1) How the pirates start fucking everyone's shit near the end of the game, then the game throws you a free pass to crush them just in time, like saying "I was just fucking around, you already passed the challenge several turns ago".
2) How you end up wasting several turns talking to your allies until somehow the conditions to get a new star are meet due the lack of leads.
3) How badly distributed are the H scenes between the female characters.
Case in point: You recruit a hard to get girl, spend hours and hours and try pretty much everything to get her stars, and then you only get about one or two h pictures and no options regarding the type of h. While on the other hand there're some easy bitches hogging half the game's h pics .
4) Capturing enemies requires luck.

Anyways, overall it's a very solid game, just not as awesome as SR.
I give it 4 STARS.

I prefer Rance because i can relate more to his moral ambiguity, unlike Rouga who always does the right thing and cares about everyone.

Zanma isn't like that at all. He's casual, and talks to people like most kids with an ego would. He comes off rather rough, but his tough attitude isn't for show, it's cause he KNOWS he's powerful. Confidence.
100% agreed. Rouga is confidence personified.
And Heita is the ultimate stereotype of hot blooded sidekick.

Zanma is the perfect hero, but Rance is that badass antihero many of us wish we could be.

4) Capturing enemies requires luck.
Enemy with less than 6 HP = 80% capture chance.

Character with +20% capture rate (there are two of them) = guaranteed capture.

Not that hard ;)

I wouldn't want to be like Rance, guys an asshole! And rapes everything with a vag. There was only one time in the story I truly admired him

When the little girl gets kidnapped and Rance busts in there, questioning the boys and after they admit they continued to rape and hurt her, showed them no mercy. The boys deserved that, violating a child. I was hoping Rance would find some other people that had helped her kidnapping so he'd kill them too in an even more epic manner.

Oh god, the pirates...>_> Though, I still need to go finish Senna's route again, I'll admit, them randomly attacking your territories near end-game is annoying as hell.
Gameplay wise I'll admit the Pirates/Skull Serpent are dicks, but I wonder if they're worse than Holy Flame storywise? Although IMO they weren't as annoying as Skull Serpent, Holy Flame were huge jerks during Kunagi's Route. Especially if you don't save Marishia in time...

2) How you end up wasting several turns talking to your allies until somehow the conditions to get a new star are meet due the lack of leads.
I had to look up ALOT of stuff on the wiki for most of the star clears, it's not very blatantly obvious on how to clear everyone. Its too much of a pain to try to figure it all on your own. The worst are the ones that require start of turn events to get their stars. Some of them have very low priority and you might never see them at all.

There's alot of very likable chars that I'd like to see more h-scenes for. Every recruitable female char generally has atleast one h-scene. Though, only the heroines(Sanae, Kunagi,Senna, Sae, Shion and Karen) have the option to choose the type of H, with a majority of the game's cgs belonging to them.

4) Capturing enemies requires luck.
Getting them to nearly dead works most of the time. but depending on how strong your chars, are it's too easy to accidently overkill most of them if youre not paying attention. Using Sanae or Yuma/the girl in the chair's special attacks help so you don't accidentally kill them by mistake. Just that you have to worry about them not getting countered and dying.@@

100% agreed. Rouga is confidence personified.
And Heita is the ultimate stereotype of hot blooded sidekick.
Yeah, and I was also always fond of Heita's personality. "The Man aiming to become a Man" indeed. Turning him into Super Heita just makes him more epic.

Too bad you have to have him die from using his special attack a certain amount of times to fully clear all his stars. @_@

I'm currently in the school chapter and I can't construct building, restore order basically nothing.
Did I do something wrong? How important are the building in this game?

You can't make buildings at all during the school chapter or the district chapter, you have to trigger an event in the National Chapter to be able to construct anything. As for their importance, certain buildings will help slow down the loyalty loss of the people stationed in that area. Others can increase the amount of BP you get(The curry houses).

Restore order also does nothing at all in the school chapter but will come into importance in the later two chapters. The Order of an area will generally go down if you don't leave any people stationed in that area. You'll know that the order has worsened heavily if a skull and crossbones appears above the area. Leave it alone for too long and the residents may rebel and attack the area or a swarm of rats, one of them having high hp will spawn there.

Edit: For the hell of it, the chars I had recruited near the end of the last time I cleared the game.
Yes, my Rouga isn't as overpowered as he should be. He should atleast have an atk of 100+ by this point. >_>

Re: Daibanchou Big Bang Age

wow this game is.... frikin hard... in a good way. Too many hard choices to make, in terms of who I want, when I want.... like 10-15 events in national stage and i can only pick one at a time lol.... not to mention having to talk to certain people who still have ful loyalty when other characters are falling under half, all because you need to talk to that character to access another character...

it really ramps up the replayabilty.. I'm just glad we have save files... imagine trying to do this with like one autosave thingy >.> I'd be restarting every 5 minutes... especially since the moment I get distracted, I make a mistake and like lose a character, or a chance to get a character.

if only the makers of fire emblem took a hint from this... maybe that DS title wouldn't have been a complete fawkin waste...

just because it was a remake doesn't mean they couldn't add on some character interaction stuff :( like what happened to all the talk + closeness that made friends more powerful next to each other? urrrrr -.-

I can't trigger Erika 's events. I read on the wiki that you need to station her with her gang, does it work in the district chapter or only in national chapter?

Re: Daibanchou Big Bang Age

rance1 but it's more like a scrolling-option game, the game itself it pretty old (1989 :D)
There are groups that translate other Alice games ( rance6 and daiteikoku) but don't expect any patch soon at least before 2012.
If you want to play similar games learn Japanese, that's the only way.
