also thanks to my friend luke, who found out a skill even i didnt know about

you are capable of jumping then dashing then jumping again before the dash ends, allowing for a even higher longer jump than i first thought aloowing me to skip most of level 6, which was annoying because there were no short cuts lol...now ya can do it in under 10 seconds using the shaft meat for the monster

okay today i added the pink slime rape animation but i still need to check it works when there's more than one slime in the level
EDIT- IT WORKS
naturally the slimes only show up after the end of the demo
so look forward to it if you haven't got the pre-order yet


and the easiest way to execute the new jump is to double tap c after jumping

small update

21/25 levels complete
4/8 cg complete
3 h animations left to make

remember the price is going back up to £3.20 once the game finished also... i think i might release yuko for free to celebrate my 2 year anniversary, it's £60 off paying for itself still but if the commissioner manages to keep his job then i might see that money after all... last time i take on a game commission without a deposit in future (also, was allready 75% off)

hmmm... today im having a real craving for indian food... hmm will get some levels done later, barreytor gave me a hand with the humping animation for the endings but i did red's animation myself :3

still...too poor for a takeaway atm... hnghhh... how do other people deal with cravings?

my mother ended up buying it and also the guy i was gonna buy sh2 and re2 off was a dick to one of my friends...so now i have spare money for a takeaway another day, but not this day...cause mother ordered 2 curries each

I'm going to go and assume the levels are all done, and I believe the h-anims are all done too, so that would leave only to wait for the CGs, right?

nope still 4 levels and the endings to do (and the credits)
im trying to think of gimmicks though...like theres a level where you have to dig while avoiding the green slime, though this level is there to make absolutely sure you know that some green boxes are active and some need to be touched before the count down

How's this for a gimmick? Door to the end of the level is locked. You have a witch and a green slime chasing you from opposite sides Witch has the key, but you can't take it from her until you get the slime to collide with the witch so she drops the key. (When this happens you can watch the slime F*** the witch though if you wait too long it starts going after you again).

Or you can do an endless maze type deal (think final castle of Super Mario world where the section repeats unless you go through a certain path).

the witch one sounds nice but it would be inconsistent with the plot, and require me to do that animation which would be a setback

understanding the timed blocks is important cause shortly after theres a level where you need to unleash the beast (door is on that side of the blocks) and get chased by the slime until you can get around it

Your going to have to run that plot part by me as I don't recall witches or slime monsters in the story of Red Riding Hood and the demo doesn't really explain their presence either. Why wouldn't the slime f*** the witch ifgiven the chance? Is it her familiar? Perhaps I missed a blog post?

That said, extra animations take extra work. I understand that. Basically the gist of the idea is get the key off the thing chasing you by leading it into another thing not so much having the witch get screwed.

Here's my two cents:

Mechanics work great, everything seems to work as it should. Also, your artist is top notch, props! Excellent CG's. Sprites and tiles are also quite nice, simple but effective, and a nice color palette to look at, too.

As for difficulty, I do think it's kind of hard considerinng it's only the first levels. I mean it's winnable, but if these are the easiest then the later ones promise to be kind of hellish. You may consider either slowing down the green monster or adding struggling for smaller enemies instead of instakills, or maybe a health system, but that's just me (I suck at most games).

All in all, I liked it a lot!!! Keep up the good work!

Wouldn't you be losing money at that point? Leave some room for profit after release, man.

haha it was just no one bought it so i thought either everyone who wanted the games had them allready or just didnt think the deal was good enough...

also with them waiting for my new stuff the old games just werent interesting them

Well it's your IP so you can do what you want with it. As for the bundle not being popular, my guess is that it hasn't been advertised enough. You tend to put most of your stuff here when you first release it so I figure most people with money here already have most of your games. Try advertising it in places you don't frequent.

Just remember, discretion is the better part of valor.
