Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)
I used Cheat Engine, but it's really not as cut and dry as Nutaku seems to think it was.
I played the legit way to about level 50. I dropped some money into the game, not a ton at that point, but I had earned some platinums. One day, my save is just inaccessible. The account wasn't wiped. The game just stopped working and gave me an error message basically saying "something unknown happened but you can't play the game anymore". I contacted support. They never answered, and all I read was how shitty their customer service was.
So I shrugged my shoulders and made a new account. I used cheat engine to freeze stamina and gold so I could "speed level" back up to level 50 and continue where I left off. I didn't give myself 999 crystals or anything. Of course, since their game progression and drop rates are absurd, it still took several weeks and a significant amount of real world money to get back there. And now the save is wiped as punishment for my horrible behavior.
It's kind of telling that they saw hundreds upon hundreds of people cheating in their game, (one that had no tangible rewards, no competitive multiplayer, and hits a near-impossible progress wall anyway) and didn't consider for a second that maybe their game design and screwy servers actively discourage people from playing the "legit" way. I contacted them again but I doubt I'm going to get anywhere.
The unfortunate thing is that I'm playing LoV as well (no Cheat Engine) and I've been dropping more money into that, but they've kind of killed any motivation I may have had to continue.
Honestly, I can't fault this guy.
I already posted most of this over on hongfire, but whatever, inc: text.
Long story short I had insane amount of issues with Aigis on Firefox, I didn't realize it was terribly incompatible with the game until later. I would get constant crashed, sometimes system crashes, freezes, and numerical glitches in various currencies (Gold would shot up, shot down, etc)
Just when I was about to write the game off as a buggy mess the game I hit 20 and rolled premium and got the Black Unit Deine. Coasted to around 44, managed to get lucky and get a plat Cellia, cc'd soma, and was working on CC'ing Leanne/Healer/Witch. Then on a fresh morning with full sta I farmed for affection items, dumped 15 on Leanne then the last on Cloris and I get some item error followed by a crash with the game tripping as if it was snorting acid. Then I get a then I get a save data is corrupt unable to play. Sent a ticket and still haven't heard a peep, but I get the feeling they would just reset it to zero so there goes the point in that. Since then I made about 12 alt-accounts, getting up to 10 crystals and rolling a decent hand, turns out I was blessed with that Deine and the rates for premium are pretty shoddy even by Destiny of Spirits/Deadman's Cross standards.
Before anyone says anything, no I didn't use Cheat Engine. I didn't even think any online game would allow client side modifications to affect server side, I mean even Ragnarok Online the epitaph of badly programmed games and dated game designs has basic encryptions to prevent it. I mean hell, a game as bad a Onigiri had protection from programs like CE. While I admit to having using it on other offline games/having knowledge of the program, I uninstalled it years ago on the account that you can pretty much find a SSG for most games out there.
Would I have used it if I were in the same spot? Probably if I was entirely too invested in this game. While it
catched my fancy, restarting has been a drag since I'm always comparing my previous luck with the current restart run, with whatever impending fear that it'll be corrupted somehow. But chances are like Destiny of Spirits and Deadman's Cross the fancy would have gone away once something else comes along, or when I just gotten bored.
Between not getting a single peep from their "support team" about my original account, and reading at how the lackluster rates for summoning (which would make the aforementioned games seem like generous saints) I'm inclined to say that I'm glad I didn't spend a single dollar on this game and given the way they handle customer support and other assorted crap, probably never. =/
But hey, QQ right?
