Thanks for this post. I've found so much cool stuff on Patreon thanks to this thread. It really sucks that they hide that content on their site, especially since it seems to be a major driving force of money being earned. It would probably be mutually beneficial for Patreon and the content creators to just have an age check and allow these projects to be seen.

I noticed that you list the projects using the creator's name, rather than the project itself. What happens if a creator happens to have two different patreon projects?

I'm also wondering if my patreon can be added to your list, or if there is something that you don't like about it that is keeping it from being there.

Most people name the Patreon project pages after their usernames, hence why he names them like that; there are a lot that aren't named after a specific person (for ex. I have two Patreons on there, one named Future Fragments, and one named Hentaiwriter).

The reason I list the creator is because what you think happens is actually the opposite. A lot of these people started patreon and listed their game as their account. They are actually going back and changing their name now.

Just look at the patreon list, a couple have already changed their name from the game to their online persona. I had to rearrange the list because of it.

Also, it makes sense to add the creator because a couple have finished the game they started on, and are now moving to the next one. The creator name will be the constant as they progress.

Half the country is obsessed with a woman of Armenian descent's big arse because she fucked some guy in a shoddily made home movie.

But hey, what do you expect? Modern America was founded by immigrants who thought socially conservative seventeenth century Europe was Sodom and Gomorrah.

Wish there was a way we could bump some not so popular but really good patreons up, popularity wise.

Well besides hentaiwriter, there are a few unnamed people who "promote" or market adult games, the issue is, its just suicide. Look at kimochi, that was a nice legit service, that had to shut down because it couldn't sustain itself.

At least we do have some games breaking through the mainstream, like hunniepop. Which fucking markiplier even played. I just saw a youtube channel with a good amount of subs that did a fucking rapelay playthrough.

So I mean, it is kind of there. Maybe it just requires more time. IDK.
Morals are definitely degrading, or changing, however you look at it. Personally I think women are whores, and men are pigs, and we try to cover up that fact. But now we have the internet, which allows the most attractive of us to casually fuck are way around town. And even the not so attractive have a bunch of casual sex if they lower each other standards (which is hard because they browse through a catalog of hotness). It is why I think a lot of people are "lonely" and or "alone". I also see at least half the women my age labeled as "bisexual". Fucking biological receivers amiright?

Anyway, aside from societal hypocrisy. I would like "adult" to mean something other than sex. I have always hated that gore porn is allowed but porn porn is taboo. Adult should mean sex AND violence. One should be equal to the other.

I don't think Kimochi's biggest problem was the adult games market. Software distribution services need a huge consumer base to cover expenses. That consumer base can't be built overnight. Additionally, Kimochi hosted a large proportion of free games, which add to bandwidth costs, but do not provide any revenue.

Steam, as the most obvious example of such a system, probably operated in the red for years. Valve was simply able to cover the cost using their Half Life profits. They were also able to expand the userbase by requiring Steam for their games.

If we want to see a comparable marketplace for adult games, it will need to be supported by a very successful adult games company that is willing to invest heavily into the system until it becomes profitable.

It's probably more realistic to hope that Steam adds a legitimate adult games sections.
