Regarding Alias's post way back up there... I'm not sure that whether an asshole who is 'just a douchebag' or has been hurt in the past and is oblivious to being an asshole is really the main concern.

Did you mean the main concern regarding people's reactions to said douchebag, or the main concern of this thread? If the former, fair enough; if the latter, I know. I was trying to spark some debate on a slightly different topic (looks like I failed hard tho =P)

also Puppy, The frustration is gone. I'm glad he finally gave into himself. and he said, "When it's just that amazing it can't be a one time deal. Just don't expect it often."

My own experience with this:

I played the best friend for years... And watched as boyfriend after boyfriend left her in a worse off state...

First Smoking, then Drinking followed with heavy Narcotics Abuse, And Finally Pregnant.

I watched as one of the most briliant minds in our year, Reduced herself to "Handjobs for a Hit"


Second Time I didn't wan't to date her... It WAS platonic... Untill she moved and I couldn't see her again...


Thing I think I miss the most was the companionship...

My experience: I lost who I wanted when I was nice.
Afterwords, when I was a selfish asshole, I got someone completely and totally obsessed with me for a gf, whom I honestly don't really care about at all. She amounts to what every stupid selfish asshole would want: a pliable, weak willed, nymphomaniac who I can treat like I don't care most of the time and she'll love me for it even more. The relationship is completely meaningless to me.

I consider it a lose-lose, all things considered.
