Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game
On the other hand I had to use lvl 10 irons to level out my units enough so that I can pass Castle Retake. That took weeks.
And as I final point, I came over from Nutaku so that I could experience all the cool shit: a slew of new units and events (remember, most things in the daily rotation were completely new to me as well). So that's what I'm focused on. I don't want to level the same old boring units I've been using for over a year on Nutaku, to grind the dailies using the same old tactics and grind the same old story maps when I have all the shiny new stuff to look at. It's boring to do so. And it's immensely frustrating to see event after event passing me by not even trying for a higher grade reward and only getting subpar versions of the units. If you tell me to just ignore all that and focus on grinding story maps and level the same old core team (mostly silvers), then don't bother. Because if that's the only way to get anywhere, then I probably should just quit. Because I sure as shit don't have the patience to do the slow grind for a second time. That's why I opted for leveling premium/event units instead of silvers and only resorted to leveling silvers where I had no other alternative. And I mostly intend to continue to do so. I will level some more key silver units, but overall I'll keep focusing on higher tier units, especially the ones that are new to me.
I started anew on dmm christmas 2015, back before daily revivals were even a thing, back before there was black ticket, back before there was 3SC per day for 7 days newbie login gift. I cleared Castle Retake in less than a week with only like 3 CC'd units. The only 'advantage' I had over you, was that I had Cloris from tutorial at that time. I definitely didnt need to take weeks.
Yes, it is frustrating to get subpar units, but you do it and move on. Grinding your units take priority so you can handle future events better. Struggling to get better > complaining on the forums about virtually every single event since Emperor's. I also started close to a GR (last year's) and I only aimed for the guaranteed 90/12 rewards and mordrebete+bernice because I knew they were necessary. That's 3 out of 9 units.
'you don't want to grind the same old units' that's pretty much where you screwed yourself over. You could've just went with the same old units for the beginning before switching to new ones later on AFTER you had a core team to work with.
I used that to powerlevel most of my units to CC20 or so. That naturally became my "core team" afterwards. And of course I leveled silvers, because I had nothing else to level. I had Katie, Kerry, Cloris and a bit later Mehlis. That was all. There was no real decision making there, I just leveled everything. Because pretty much all of the decent units fit into a single team. On dmm they don't even fit in my barracks.
The very same units you leveled on nutaku make up your core team on dmm. they're the starter pack units. and they most certainly are different than on nutaku because of cc55 abilities.
took a brief look at your signature: cc20 daniela, cc62 bashira, cc57 fran, cc20 fuuri/khuri. that's your ranged dps? ever thought about how and what you need to do crystal H and X?
my main issue here, is that you basically screwed yourself over with your decisions to level silvers minimally and you want to complain about the event maps themselves being difficult?
And I mostly intend to continue to do so. I will level some more key silver units, but overall I'll keep focusing on higher tier units, especially the ones that are new to me.
then so be it; just don't complain about events being difficult because they're perfectly fine, fun and a mix of challenging and manageable.
Well that was only an example, the actual point is, some people take on the effort to write complains/critics against someone for asking something deemed "stupid" by the "core community", when actually answering such questions requires the same or even less effort.
Hoping they would learn from it and learn that they are being "stupid" about it. At the very least, I believe everyone strives to not look like an idiot.
Serious question: I just hit 400 RCs. Should I get one of the mainstay platinum or two of the new Soma? Or one Soma and just keep the rest for now? Soma seems to be really good against the units she's strong against and pretty meh against everything else.
probably better to get the usual spica-bashira and get leona instead. as a rearguard, 30% cd reduction (when AW'd) is much more useful, and unless you get Aisha, she's probably the only rearguard you'll be wanting and using in the long run.
A summary of what a new player should aim for when start Aigis:
- get to phalanx 2 asap (best place to use up excess stamina and get plat fairy for bashira early on)
- pass castle retake, get to fiery oasis and then BSII because best place for story mission fodders
- clear daily missions up to H/X asap so you can farm them when necessary and also spica/chydis/AW fairies from magic/demon crystals.
basically, these 3 things SHOULD come to a nutaku-experienced player intuitively. everything before is but a temporary stop and should be skipped if necessary. these 3 targets should pretty much be the targets within 1st 2 weeks of gameplay. You do aim to catch up with the current event difficulty after all.
