Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

That is the way I understand it. It's used to describe a body type. Loli in appearance, large boobs to go with said appearance.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

What the fuck? Do you think I'm lying in the other thread or something?
No, I wanted confirmation in terms of lore. However, since you explained that an oppai loli has nothing to do with age, then that confirmation is not needed.

Alright, thanks.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Oppai Loli (おっぱいロリ) is a silly term used by baka gaijin. Oppai just means breasts, irregardless of size. If it can lactate, then it's an oppai, which also means men have them as well. If you want to talk about a character with a loli face and small head-to-body size ratio with big boobs, then the correct term is 'ロリ巨乳' (Lolikyonyuu).

If you go on places like Pixiv, and search 'おっぱいロリ', you're only going to get 3 results with one of them being a baka gaijin, the second being in a result for 'おっぱいロリコン' (Oppai Lolicon), and the final one being only from October of 2015.

I have no idea what popularised this term, though it's only less silly than the people that call these 'hentai games' (I suspect westerners use this because they saw some awful character use it disparagingly an old anime, or something), and 'otaku', which was a term made up by some hack writer called Nakamori Akio to piss off a bunch of lolicon readers of some magazine called Comic Burikko (this is where the current artstyle for bishoujo characters originated from, so this board wouldn't exist if the evolution that occurred in Burikko never happened). . Due to complaints from the readerbase, Nakamori was banned from using the word in his articles, which he complied with, but he still cleverly found a way to work underneath the skin of the readers, so his column was canceled shortly afterwards. Later, some serial killer who went to comiket and had a couple copies of Burikko in his room was convicted of murdering, raping, and eating little girls, and Nakamori found it upon himself to write a book called 'Mの時代' about this guy, which is how 'otaku' fell into common use by ordinary Japanese folk. It baffles my mind that anyone would want to willingly call themselves an 'otaku', thinking it's like calling yourself an 'anime nerd', when it was really like calling yourself a cannibalistic necrophile with weirdo hobbies to your Japanese acquaintances...

Huh, well thank you very much for that detailed explanation. That added on origin of 'Otaku' was interesting as well, though got pretty dark at the end.

Words can change to suit people's needs, so I'm not really surprised despite that word having dark origins people use it, then there is of course people aren't even aware of its origins. Like 'nerd' for example, used to be an insult towards a person of higher intelligence, in addition to their outward appearance (glasses, 'nerdy' clothes, etc). However, in most cases today that word is used as a compliment or a 'friendly' insult. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard someone use 'nerd' as an insult seriously. Heck, I think there was a point in time where 'nerdy' clothes was a trend.

There's also weird cases, like 'Newb' and 'Noob'. Generally, it seems 'Newb' is considered defined as, an inexperienced person. However, 'Noob' I've seen mixed messages of it being, the same as 'Newb', but spelled differently. To being, an entirely different word where it means a person that is, stupid and/or annoying.

I want this. :p

Too bad it's probably not possible to order them internationally, lol.

@Orion
You can safely ignore Petite when he goes on his rant about the darker corners of society and trivia in general. It's not much different than being caught in the wrong part of you-tube.

@Karsuman
I would prefer Nanaly or Anya key-chain instead. Use ami-ami maybe they will stock it if it's popular enough.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Decided to invest on Leona (the free Tactician, yeah I put her in my main team) only to realize, I have 0 affection item for her :/

Dammit! Can't AW her right away. Started thinking should have work on Julius (Plat HA) instead

Oppai loli is just how ロリ巨乳 got into English. I don't know why or how that happened, but it isn't a bad thing. Language changes, and should change.

Likewise, "otaku" no longer has connotations of cannibalism or necrophilia, and never had them in English. While I accept that it is still derogatory, it's in a "you're a no-good parasite that lives off the back of society" kind of way and not in a "you're a Lovecraftian ghoul that lives off the back of my deceased uncle, and I mean it literally, Jesus Christ will you stop eating his corpse" kind of way.

This is not the first time we stole a foreign word and repurposed it in a completely arbitrary way. In fact, English does this all the time. If you're opposed to the English use of otaku, you should also be opposed to the English uses of alligator, berserk and ketchup.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

It's not like the Japanese never steals words from English incorrectly either.

I've never seen people use otaku in a "postive" way either. More in a "I'm such a nerd :p" type of irony when it's obvious the person saying it is everything but.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

well I'd say that oppai lolis has connotations to large breasts due to men being obsessed with breasts and liking them large (generally)

true, that for most man. I just wanna grope the ones that normal. Not fan of big ones. I like legs and curves though :3

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Personally Im always infatuated with Petie's explanations! ^.^:

I remember the first time I explained what an Otaku was to my friend who thought it WASN'T a derogatory term...Wooo....might have broke that one beyond repair.

As for the term "Oppai Loli" i am on board with petie for that was well, as it's really just like saying "Breast Face" for something to that effect. I didn't call my GF in High School (D cup, Shorter than me SOMEHOW) an oppai Loli, I called her a midget with massive breasts. (Of course, behind closed doors and in a loving way....)

While English does bastardize a large number of words and their meanings into somethint they're not, providing a degree of charm that makes us fall in love with the language in the fir-...Oh wait, I f***ing hate Enlish BECAUSE of that very reason...<Insert Rant about English here>

It's the language I speak, and will speak forever, but that doesn't mean I have to accept its idiosyncrasies as being "correct", esspecially when it gets all up in other people's (Language's) Bussiness. I like the idea of cute words and such, But the culture gap between them needs to be affirmed and understood before the masses of us attempt to use terms that may or may not call us BoobHeads and Cannibalistic scum of society.

Now if only we could set up like...a committee or something...the International Don't Call Dumb Stuff Stupid Things Incorporated Union of Linguists. Needs to have a long obnoxious name. The longer, the more serious we'll be taken! WHO IS WITH ME!?!?!?
