I wonder what everyone think about Avengers and Gladiators.
For me, Avengers aren't useful because they have to be at low health to increase attack, and being at low health means the risk of dying, and the fact that they are melee and only hits things they are blocking, in other words, taking hit, makes them really really bad.
Now staring at this Gladiator, I really wonder if they will be of any use. But I figure they might be better than Avengers, the increase in attack speed can make them swing faster than the enemy maybe? And prevent some hits from coming in.
Edit: Went to read a bit about Avengers, Ristis has an interesting skill to say the least, the fact that the skill make it a ranged attack and reduces HP by 50%, it seems pretty good, but it seems that placing her behind a tank but also out of Healer's reach is the best bet?
Avengers would be amazing if they were tokens. They are supposed to be a high-risk, high-reward class, but they just don't work against anything particularly well in the current meta.
-Weak enemies (Goblins, Wolves, etc.): Why would you need their high attack power against those?
-Medium-strength enemies (Ogres, Orcs, Onis, etc.): These guys have enough HP so that they won't die in one hit, and if they don't die in one hit, they are going to kill your Avenger before they get a second swing at them. And if you provide them with healer support? Well, say goodbye to the actual gimmick of the class, because you are barely going to see any multipliers then.
-Slow heavy hitters (Golems, Goblin tanks, etc.): Avengers have a lot of health, so they might survive one hit and it immediately takes them to their maximum multiplier. Then you either need to heal them up ASAP so they can survive the next hit, canceling out that multiplier, or they will die on the second hit without doing any noticable damage, because most of these guys have tons of defense and health as well.
-Quick heavy hitters (Shuten Douji, Majin, Demon bosses, etc.): These guys will tear apart any Avenger, no matter the support, and they will laugh in the face of their multipliers before crushing your hopes for a 3* clear.
So yeah, they are a class that isn't really useful against anything, requires micro-management while providing damage output that other classes, like bandits and valkyries, can equally manage without the risk-factor and they have pretty meh stats without their gimmick boosting them.
However guys, remember this, because I am calling it right here and now: In the foreseeable future, possibly as soon as the next collection event, we are going to get a unit that tokenizes avengers. Mark my words.
