Re: Akabur Games

Anyone have any luck getting an android build to work?
Be patient : Xaljio just updated that he sent Akabur an Android build of PT:G .....
Wait a few days/weeks/months/year/never and you'll have a "working" game soon

I'm just sad that I wasn't able to get it working myself, I tried to build it 10 different times, in different ways, and nada.

What did you have problems with? The only error I got that was that the ren'py engine told me that Android does not like "config.hw_video"

Anyways, I am in the process of uploading it to mega, so if anyone wants to test it (it worked for me on Android 5.1.1). It was built for Android 2.2

Here it is. do remember that it does contain my edits, none which should be game breaking (other than the bugs Akabur hasn't fixed yet, like being able to buy 2 fruit stands and fucking up your save file). There is a cheat to get more money in the cloth store, but you don't need to press it (but it could be good for quicker debug testing).

The only thing I have noticed so far is that you have to press "Call it a day" twice before it progresses to a new day

Re: Akabur Games

Just finished it, definitely an improvement, but sad that you can't have a foursome with all the girls at once. Also sad that Lola can't work in the brothel.

Re: Akabur Games

So, I finally finished a complete playthrough including new game plus, and I have to say, there was a lot of new material and generally enjoyable.

I mean, thank god for skip mode for the second playthrough, but that's about my only complaint.

A minor niggle is that the proportion of Iris vs. Jasmine seems a bit off. Jasmine's lines are a bit more subdued versus Iris', and Iris' head and body proportions seem more cartoony than Jasmine, which can create a kind of weird effect when the two are on-screen together (no counting the sex-scene CGs where they were drawn simultaneously).

Re: Akabur Games

^ Pardon the harshness, but why play through a second time ?

You just need to hit "New game+" and exit for the challenge and you can cheap out Azalea's second route with an early save ........ Unless you wanted some dialogue changes/scenes  Even then, it's a good game but I wouldn't play through it again just for 1-2 lines of chatter change .... Probably just me though.

I know this will sound entitled to you, but is there a chance to get a non-Android pre-edited version of Princess Trainer Gold?

C'mon, that's not harshness. You need to up your game. :p

I did it because I assumed the achievements/challenges were tied to a particular save game, not "global", which I only learnt later on that they were.

Beyond that, it was interesting to try out different dialogue options and so on.

Re: Akabur Games

Welp, probably burnt myself playing the "base" PT a few times before Gold came out, so I was not expecting much new content story-wise and skimmed the pre-Gold dialogues until I hit something new ...................

Sorry for being a grumpy gamer that remembers too much about older game versions to be fascinated by re-doing it a few times like it never happened ;)

Re: Akabur Games

It is quite disappointing to see so many people on the various Akabur threads whining about how much MONEY that Akabur gets and how little they see him PRODUCE.

FIRST OF ALL, cut the guy some slack. He's not got this HUGE CORPORATION supporting his work. As far as I can tell most of what he does is a solo effort and from what I have seen he has done an EXCELLENT JOB of making interesting content combined with good dialogue as well as blending together his game elements.

SECOND, Just exactly how much do you expect him to do?!? Princess Traine, Potion Shop, Witch Trainer, Iris Quest....... Thats FOUR major games right there each of which is a fairly sizable file. When YOU can put out that kind of effort then you can whine and moan about it, if you can't then kindly stuff a sock in it and let the guy WORK!

THIRD, At least TRY to play thru the game instead of just griping about how you couldn't find the particular path or quest you wanted. I'll admit that a couple of things in Princess Trainer Gold did throw me for a while until I stumble on the correct solution. The only thing I needed to find out was about Azalea's waifu route A and a quick search turned up the answer I needed without having to waste space making a post for someone to tell me the answer.

I for one do truly appreciate the games he had made and look forward to others he may be making in the future. I have seen far too many Playstation games that cost me $40 apiece and didn't have as much content or were not nearly as much fun to play with.

GO AKABUR!!

Re: Akabur Games

^ Fascinating post, too bad Akabur has nothing to do with Iris Quest .........

[incoming rant]

Whatever God people make him out to be, he still needed over a year to improve a ~90% done game with "a few" new scenes/events/CGs/chibis. Yes I played the game, yes I had fun with what was new (even if it was short lived) and yes I'll keep moaning on everything he does if it takes him this long to "finish" Magic Shop (only redeeming factor would be his VanArts trip).

Re: Akabur Games

Hah! The income he touches now is a lot higher than most artists get.
Going back a bit to this convo: I think there's more to it than just money here. There are other reasons why someone would quit doing porn to get a "day job". For one thing, when you factor in paying out of pocket for health insurance, Patreon might not look so good. A real day job might have compensation benefits.

Plus, of course, that Patreon income can fluctuate pretty rapidly as opposed to an official job with a real company with, one might expect, a fixed wage or salary that can be relied on for budgetary reasons. It can be difficult to plan ahead when your income is unpredictable.

Another reason is, it's not so great in terms of resume-boosting. Say Akabur spends the next 2-4 years studying at Van Arts plus doing porn on the side and funding via Patreon. Afterwards, he keeps on doing the same thing. Ten years from now, what does he have for a resume if he wants to be done with porn? How does he apply to some company when he has no employment history?

Also, people's personal lives can be involved as well. Depending on what kind of woman (or man, not assuming anything here) you're interested in, certain types of career may or may not make good first impressions. "Mom, this is my boyfriend, Akabur. He draws hardcore porn for a living." Miiight not make for the best in-law relationship. I'm just saying, porn is still very stigmatized and there are MANY reasons why someone might want to get away from it into more "respectable" work, even if it meant somewhat less money.

So, while I'm hopeful we haven't seen the last out of Akabur, I'm just trying to soften people for the blow in case he graduates Van Arts and hangs up his Hentai hat forever.

Why do I see a backlash bigger than WT if this happens ?
