Amestris - Central City

Re: Amestris - Central City

Once the group had reached the area near the Command Building, they'd notice two things. One, that area seemed to be the "eye" of the storm, and the sky was at its darkest, almost seeming like night. While the snow hadn't completely stopped, it wasn't falling nearly as hard.

But it was the other thing that would likely command their attention. A human sized and shaped figure, clad in black complete with a tattered hooded robe, was pulling a large sword from the now lifeless body of the Fuhrer. As it fell, the figure spoke, the sneer audible. "Late. As I knew you would be."

The voice wasn't natural sounding...seeming to hiss and echo, even. When the figure turned, something about how it moved didn't seem right. A pale face could be seen from under the hood.

If anyone happened to look at James, his face was trying to match the snow for color.

Re: Amestris - Central City

Jack reacted quickly. He grabbed his knife with his left hand and pulled the revolver out with his right, aiming at the stranger. "Don't f***ing move, or I'll turn your head into minced meat." He hoped that his poor aim wouldn't mess things up...

Re: Amestris - Central City

Max stood there in horror, the body of Fuhrer Bradley lay motionless on the floor. Though as the cloaked figure pulled the sword out of Bradley his body twitched, as if he was about to get back up though a second later an audible gasp left his mouth and his body began to disintegrate, first the skin, then the flesh followed by muscles, internal organs and finally the skeleton. In place of his heart glistened a small red stone, though that too cracked and disintegrated, black and red dust blew along the wind.

"What the hell," Max muttered under his breath, the sight of both the man and Bradley's body breaking down creeped him out. Instinctively he reached for one of his capsules and readied himself just in case the man attacked.

Re: Amestris - Central City

Jack went pale. He had no idea what happened, but he was barely calm enough to stand there, aiming at the strange person. 'Is that because of the sword?' Now, there was no way he'd hit his target, unless it moved into close combat.

Re: Amestris - Central City

The man sneered at Jack's weapons, seeming to be completely unconcerned at the threat. "Pitiful. They send only half-skilled children to try to stop me?" With that, the figure began advancing on the group slowly.

The robes seemed to flutter oddly.

Re: Amestris - Central City

Jack's breath became audible. It was quite slow, though. The Hellfire Alchemist was taking deep breaths to calm himself down and make sure his arm was steady. He pointed the gun at the man's chest. As he exhaled, Cynder pulled the trigger.

((Gotta take a break.))

Re: Amestris - Central City

At this point, Sen starts to frantically look around the area for any sort of living plant on the ground. Maybe she could get them to make a tangle across the road thick enough to stall the man.

Re: Amestris - Central City

"Dammit, if only I was more combat-oriented," Max thought to himself, watching Jack aim at the figure. "Though....I could do that, the only problem would be if the ground is too wet...Or better yet...."

"Why don't you drop the act? We're going to kick your ass and then haul it into jail where you belong!" Max's words were more an effort to goad the figure into getting closer to them for him to use his 'secret weapon'.

Re: Amestris - Central City

Miranda seemed horrified by what had occured so far, though she let out a curse as she fingered the water arrays in her pocket. She could potentially pull the snow and water from the air and into a bubble around the man's head... She leafed through her arrays, keeping them hidden. She kept the papers folded in diffrent way for different tasks.

Re: Amestris - Central City

((before I go, I explained it to Bart so I should explain it now; water manip. 1 will only really allow you to create up to water balloon sized water attacks. And not the good sized water balloons, no, the cheap ones :D))

Re: Amestris - Central City

Surprisingly enough, Cynder's shot hit center of chest...Although only the robes seemed to react, almost as if there wasn't anything inside.

What plants Sen could find were covered in snow and ice...The ice likely playing a part in the man moving as slow as he already is.

The man sneered again at Max's comment, but no comment came from him, or change in his pace. Oddly enough, though, for a very brief second, he faltered...right when the shot connected.

Re: Amestris - Central City

Jack was beginning to panic. Altough he seemed cool on the outside, Cynder was truly frightened. 'Alright, maybe it's some armor... Weird armor, just like the sword... The head! I bet it's the head! No brain, no life!' Jack raised the gun a bit, aiming right where the eyes should be. He noticed that his hands were shaking, but he didn't fire immediately. He knew that long range combat was his weakness. However, Cynder's quick arm and even faster trigger finger made him dangerous up close. Jack exhaled and shot again, hoping that the trick would stop his arm from shaking too much... And praying.

Re: Amestris - Central City

Miranda pulled out the array she had been looking for an activated it. Soon a small bubble of water was forming over the man's nose and mouth. I hope suddenly breathing water will slow him down.

Re: Amestris - Central City

While it didn't hit the center of the man's face, Jack's shot still connected...and passed straight through. The man didn't seem to notice the shot, until it ripped through his hood. Then, he faltered again, although it was less pronounced than the earlier shot.

Miranda's water trick did in fact stop the man. He stopped and began laughing as the water froze into a sort of mask covering his lower face. It might strike the group that this man, whoever (or whatever) his is, is the cause of the sudden climate shift.

Re: Amestris - Central City

Jack took a step back, breaking his stance. He turned his head towards the group - others would probably notice that he was desperately trying to stay calm. "Ok... Any good ideas? I'd suggest we run for it. Now."

Re: Amestris - Central City

James was starting to shift his footing, although it was hard to tell his intent. Quietly, he asked, "Was it just me, or did he seem to flinch whenever those robes he's wearing were damaged?"

It's clear from his voice, something about this figure has James pretty shaken.

Jack looked at the man again. "Yeah, I think so..." Cynder ran this thought through his mind again. Any way of stopping that menace would be fine for him, no matter how stupid.

'Robes, robes... The knife's too risky, the gun won't work... And it'll be hard to do it with alchemy... If I managed to get something that would burn... Perhaps if I extracted powder from a bullet and got it on that guy, then set it aflame... But he seems to be able to decrease temperature... Would it burn at all?'

Re: Amestris - Central City

"Goddamn, this bastard is taking a beating. Water and bullets aren't hurting him in the least," Max comments to himself as he watches his comrades attack.

"His robe?" He asks James, he looks at the man coming slowly to them. "Okay, looks like I'll have to try it." Taking out a glove Max quickly slipped it onto his right hand before pulling out a glass capsule from his pocket. Pulling out the stopper he throws it towards the man and as a trickle of black powder starts to spray out he thrusts his right arm in the air. "Try this you freak," Max says as he clicks his finger, red sparks dance along the air toward the capsule. A small flame appears momentarily before the powder ignites, a large explosion filling the gap between the Alchemists and the man, engulfing him.

"High grade gunpowder. Learnt that trick from Roy," Max explains as he waits for the smoke to clear.

Re: Amestris - Central City

The explosion did some damage to the robes, though they still seemed to be mostly intact. The figure swayed a bit, eventually having to plant his sword point in the ground to steady himself. The hood was in tatters, and the man's face could fully be seen...and it was eerily similar to James' own. The figure snarled in response, and raised its sword, which began to glow.

James started to react, "Oh, that doesn't look..."

When the figure's sword started to swing down, James yelled, "SCATTER!"

With that, James dove away as an eruption of chilling air erupted in the air where the group had been standing.

((There was enough warning, so everyone can treat the attack as dodged.))

"Hoshit!" Max shouts as he just manages to duck the attack. Dropping low to the ground Max sprints back the way they came though before doing so he smashes one of the capsules on the floor, hoping that the man would walk on it so that he could give the attack another go at a distance.
